They flew.

Alone.

Vrianth danced in the air, and the stars lit candles for them, every one.

Midnight had long passed by the time they returned.

Two of their visitors had left, but their ledge wasn't bare: Vrianth saw before Leova ever could. Sped up. Landed, close by Ishawith, relaying the other green's impression of Rhonda distinctly ''elsewhere'' and enjoying it. Leova didn't ask, and if Vrianth did, she didn't share.

In their weyr, just the two of them, they lit what was left of the little candle. Again Leova sang, some of the songs different, most of them the same. If Ishawith listened from the ledge, she didn't mind. Vrianth, who could be so possessive of so much else, didn't mind.

All the songs were for Vrianth.

Last Turn, they had still been in the barracks, barely. This Turn, they called this weyr home.
