Castles in the Sand Brown
Ineuth could seem a smooth dragon -- at first. There's his physique, innately streamlined, approaching athletic as training builds muscle and knowhow; there's his coloring, predominantly the greyed browns of driftwood, further darkened in rippled swaths down his long and narrow wings; there's the way he moves, full of mostly-focused energy ... in a way that makes his glitches that much more noticeable when they do appear. The irregularities don't end there, though these reflect idiosyncrasies rather than issues: dark-cresting neckridges seem pitted along their trailing edges, expanding into patches of bark-like mottling along his flanks and the tip of his tail, while deliberative, heavy-lidded eyes rarely stay solely with one hue. As for his paws, they're also speckled but paler this time, even granular, as though he's always walking on shifting sands.
Temperament
Ineuth doesn't mean to make things difficult for you: you're the center of his world, the person most important to him, and the idea of causing you difficulty is anathema to him. Unfortunately, it's never quite that easy.
Ineuth is very literal. He'll take what you say at face value, even if there's emotional evidence to the contrary, even if subconsciously he senses and is troubled by those discrepancies. If /you/ say everything is fine, everything must be fine... even if you're crying. Even if he can feel your frustration, deep down, and it unsettles him. You'll have to learn to be good at communicating yourself - in words - to him, to make him understand: an often painstaking process, but it can help keep you from entering a destabilizing spiral as his being unsettled unsettles you in turn. His favourite question is « Why? », like a perpetual toddler, and he's not good at working out when enough is enough.
Though your brown may have his dam's substantial physical energy, and her optimistic kindness too, there's also a lot of his sire in him. Ineuth can be slow and methodical with his thoughts, liking to build them from the ground up like so many sandcastles. Some are simple, others far more ornate and complicated - and all, like so many things made of sand, easily knocked down by a rogue wave or the shaking of the earth. Even in his earliest days, he can be surprisingly incisive, but it will take a strong bond between you to build a foundation beneath them that will keep his ideas safe. (In the meantime, he'll get a lot of practice in learning to recollect his thoughts and refocus...)
You may like to repeat things, at night, to bolster Ineuth's fading draconic memory (not so much of a memory, his, even for a dragon... though occasionally things will pop back into existence, unexpected treasures). But oh, it can be painstaking.
Later, you'll be able to find a certain synergy in flying together, whether the day is still or stormy. It's perhaps the one time where the pair of you can communicate perfectly, no confusion... if only you can both relax into it! Some thermals and gusts may be less expected than others, but they can be exciting in a good way, too. As for the chasing sort of flights, there'll likely be a disorienting flurry of them as Ineuth leaves adolescence-- though as he matures, he's likely to become a more discriminating chaser, preferring females with simple, mutual lust to those who'd seek to confuse or overmaster him via imagery or emotion... though there may be a few of the latter who manage to hook him anyway.
While Ineuth finds many dragons fascinating, he's instinctively cautious around those he doesn't find straightforward, as though he (rightly) fears what they might do. At the same time, he's drawn to those whose interest in ideas matches his-- or whose actions inspire new ones in him, whether for his own sake or for yours. (Does a clutchmate's rider like to wake up to the sound of her warbling-- at the break of dawn, no less? Maybe you would too!) Humans, though? Forget them. Well, unless they matter to you, in which case he'll at least listen, though there's bound to be a lot more of that « Why? »
(Speaking of warbling: somewhere along the line, Ineuth will start to find noise thrilling. Especially loud noises. Especially loud music. He may not generally be a boisterous type of dragon, but there's something about music that brings out his dam in him: it's an especially good way to help him relax and calm down, if something has worked him up. Once you have a weyr of your own, you might like to hang windchimes or bells... though this may not make you popular with your neighbours. Then again, there's always drums!)
In the end, if you wanted a dragon who is (as so many dragons are) loyal to you, his rider, above all others; a sounding board for your ideas; and fascinated by you... Ineuth is that. (He also isn't one to use you, unlike so many humans in your life.) However, Ineuth's also very much himself. And the thing about his knowing you so intimately, and about his being a dragon of action (even if it often requires a lot of planning before he ditches all that and jumps into the deep end), is that he'll catch the things you're wanting, whether you realize them or not. Some of those sandcastles of his, they're going to be about you. They might be your fantasies, your pipe dreams, your secrets... at least until you can explain to him the difference between deep desires and wishful thinking (or what you'll let yourself have versus what you won't), and maybe even after that. Not only that, the first you might learn of any specific escapade is when ta da! Ineuth has not only an idea but a plan of action... that he's just put into motion. We hope you'll enjoy the ride.
Mindvoice
Ineuth's mindvoice is pretty simple: a low tenor that favors words over images, with a natural coolness to it that some might find reminiscent of his grandsire (for all that it's simply a fresh breeze rather than Leiventh's chillier wind, and present rather than distant). At times, particularly when he's in an especially good mood, there'll be a whiff of bonfire smoke. (He'd roast you marshmallows, if only he could.)
