| It was set up by dragon, Cadejoth to Arekoth; the caverns are a safely neutral zone, one where Iska can sit on a chair that's too big for her, legs swinging in a truculent kind of way, her face set into a scowl. K'del stands behind her, one big hand on each of her shoulders. "Iska," he instructs, attention focused upon his daughter and not on H'kon or his. "What did we talk about?" Iska's more stubborn than she should be, given her parentage, but she sucks in a deep breath, now. "Sorry, Raija." Her head turns towards K'del; is she done now? Is that enough? H'kon's arrival with Raija is carefully disciplined, their approach to the table, the point at which he releases her hand, the sitting down. "How do you answer?" is the only prompt given to his daughter, while he refrains, purposefully, from hovering. "Sorry, Iska," comes replied. H'kon reaches out to touch Raija's shoulder, lightly. He's not the sort of father to force a hug from an uncertain daughter; what that touch does prompt is the digging of a small stone out of Raija's pocket, which is held out, wordlessly, as peace offering. K'del's nudge focuses Iska's attention back on her frenemy, just in time for that stone to make its appearance. Her mouth opens, a breath sucked in and held for long seconds. Finally, she reaches out to accept the stone, the corners of her mouth turning up into a smile. "Wanna play with my toys?" she wonders, pulling away from her father's grip. "I got good ones." Raija nods, eagerly, and hops down from the chair she'd taken. H'kon is left only with a bemused expression, slowly getting his feet in motion to follow after the girls, and offering K'del a lift of his eyebrows. Go figure. To which, in answer, K'del can simply shake his head. Girls! |
