The former goldrider from Telgar has been kept to a private room in the infirmary since the unfortunate events which led to her being held here. There's an aide on watch outside of her door, but she won't stop a visitor. Lately it's been Teris herself that has made it clear when a visit is over, often with screaming. Right now the gaunt blonde is sitting on the floor with her back against the bed, staring at the wall across from her. There's food, somewhere, but as has been the case since Iskiveth was lost, Teris hasn't touched it.

There's a certainty in the way R'hin strides past the aide -- like he knows he won't be stopped, or even if the attempt is made, he won't be dissuaded. He takes three steps into the room and stops -- pale eyes surveying the room itself, the untouched food, and finally Teris herself. There's no pity in his gaze, but rather something harder, angrier. He takes the two extra steps required to carry him in front of Teris, and crouches, deliberately breaking her line of sight with the wall. "Teris." His voice isn't thoughtful or pitying or cautious. He seeks her attention, pale eyes intent.

A man in front of her does draw her attention, but it's not until Teris deliberately focuses on his face for several moments that anything like recognition starts to become at all apparent. She seems slightly confused, though, and she'll just let that speak for itself, purposefully or no.

R'hin waits until her gaze lights on him, until recognition sparks. "They can't understand what it's like," he says, in a lower voice, murmuring to her in an intent manner, gaze unwavering. "Do you want to be with her?" He doesn't specify the who, but then he likely doesn't think he has to.

Teris stares at the man for a few moments, thin brows knitting together. She looks like she might get angry, like his question might send her into one of her screaming fits. But then she only murmurs, "Can you even understand what it's like?" There is a correct answer to the question and she makes it pretty clear that she doesn't think he can.

The answer is obvious, and so R'hin doesn't answer her question directly. "With the comet pass--" he stops, jaw tightening briefly. "I looked into the eyes of many riders who lost their dragons. People who put their lives in my hands. I gave them the same offer." He stretches out his hand towards her, but his gaze remains level on hers.

Teris eyes his hand as though she expects there to be something of use to her in it. But there isn't. It's just a hand. She doesn't take it, she simply looks back up at his face like she doesn't understand what it is he's offering.

Another press of his jaw, and a slow exhale from R'hin. His hand remains outstretched, however, as he leans closer to murmur: "Leiventh and I will take you, somewhere south. If you fall on the way, you'll be with her. If you come out the other side, we'll find a cove for you away from any Weyr. Somewhere with fresh water, and fruit."

It's the name of his dragon that makes Teris visibly grimace and turn her gaze away from him. She even starts to move as though she'd like to put more distance between them, but she's weak and it's not easy. "No," she says, a little anxious now. "I can't."

The Savannah Wingleader's far too observant to have missed that reaction. R'hin's hand drops, and he falls back on his haunches, not-so-coincidentally giving her the space she's seeking. "Ok," he breathes. A moment of hesitation follows. Then: "If you change your mind... ask one of the healers to find me. I'll come back for you." And he pushes to his feet, though his eyes are still on the former goldrider.

Teris nods, a little quickly, breathing out a careful breath as he stands. She doesn't look at him again, but there are tears in her eyes, then rolling down her cheeks before long. At least she's not screaming.

He takes a step as if to leave, then pauses. There's the faint sense of movement, as R'hin leans to brush a hand against her hair and press a light kiss on the top of her head. And then he's gone.
