"What a damnable racket," mumbled the girl tangled in between sheets and other people limbs; or more correctly, one other person's all too heavy, all too hairy limbs. She shouldn't be awake. She /should/ be well on her way to waking up regretting the night before and nursing a hangover in the morning, which is not what nice young ladies of her breeding and good stature should be doing in strange places such as the Weyr.

'Nor,' she thought wryly, 'Coupling with random men who buy pretty girls of good breeding and stature many drinks.'

And yet there she was, twisting herself out from beneath the heavy, snoring man on top, disentangling her legs from around his and pulling a robe about her naked body. It only took a peek outside her door and a quick tiptoe down the hallway on barefeet to overhear the murmurs of the common room. Just a few more minutes so she might squint her pretty hazel eyes and cock one of her ears so her liquor-filled brain might comprehend.

Then, it was an even shorter trip back, on tiptoes once more so her delicate feet might not touch the grime of the Weyr's floors. She didn't even bother to try to wake the man in her bed; he was out like a light and it was unlikely the glow baskets being unshuttered and the scrawl of her pen to paper would wake him.
