K'del's Weyr, High Reaches Weyr

Rank certainly has its privileges, and among them are amply appointed apartments. The short flight of stairs from the Weyrleader's Complex opens up into the larger of two chambers, formally decorated and clearly designed to cater as much to important guests as the occupant's personal living. Old, but obviously expensive, llama wool rugs dyed blue-and-black cover the stone floor, leading towards the second chamber, the stairs, and the rush-filled dragon couch and ledge beyond it. A formal seating arrangement - a sofa and chairs, all blue-and-black - sits around a large, tiled fireplace, whilst along the other wall, a finely made, if now somewhat antique, desk sits between a bookshelf and a tall cupboard to which tack-hooks have been attached, riding gear arranged neatly inside. Two tapestries hung from the high walls depict overdone splendour for High Reaches Weyr, one a long view of the snow-covered bowl, and the other a hazy impressionist piece of dragons flaming over a springtime countryside.

The inner weyr, made up of a sleeping cavern and a private bathing area, is smaller and cosier and distinctly less ostentatious. An oversized wooden sleigh bed fills much of the space, the mattress piled high with overstuffed down pillows and comforter, their covers dyed in varying shades of navy blue, light blue and bronze. There's a nightstand on either side, both with reading lamps, and against one of the other walls, a tall, heavy wardrobe made from a dark wood that matches the bed. The bathing area is part of the same cavern, a folding screen shielding the toilet and slightly raised, double-sized bathtub built into the stone, and a small shelf holding toiletries, shaving equipment, and clean towels.

It's late afternoon, moving on toward dinner, about time for everyone who's been working a day shift to knock off. Dressed in her riding leathers, looking sunburned and windblown, Avey runs lightly up the steps to K'del's ledge and heads right for the doorway to the weyr, where she pauses and sticks her head in to see if he's at home.

K'del is home, though the ledge itself is empty, no Cadejoth in sight. The bronzerider himself is sitting on the floor just inside, his straps spread out around him along with leather oil, bits of padding, and numerous other accoutrements of strap-care. He's not so intent in what he's doing, though, that the sound of footsteps doesn't draw his attention upwards. "Avey! Hey."

"Hi!" Avey says brightly, her smile broadening to a grin when she sees K'del. In she comes, without waiting to be invited, and looks him up and down appreciatively, straps-making accoutrements and all. "Nice shoes," she says with a suggestive arch of her eyebrows. "Wanna fuck?" Nobody could ever accuse her of not getting right to the point.

Direct it might be, but K'del doesn't miss a beat in responding to it, his straps pushed aside as he draws himself to his feet. "Okay," he says, grinning cheerfully. And, okay, /eagerly/. "Bed, couch or wall?" That was easy.

Avey kind of figured it would be. Still, she looks pleased with herself all the same, at his prompt acceptance of her proposal. "Hmmm... yes," she says in answer to the question. But the couch is closest, so in the end she winds up pushing him down on it and climbing on top of him without even bothering to fully undress first. It's totally hot - except maybe for the part at the very end, where the name she cries out is /not/ K'del's, but another. K'ndro. She doesn't even notice the lapse, as she kisses his cheek fondly and pillows her head on his shoulder, catching her breath.

/Totally/ hot, and definitely better than repairing straps, though it cannot be said that /K'del/ fails to notice her lapse. It doesn't stop him from getting his satisfaction, of course, but as Avey pillows her head, and he - automatically, probably - wraps an arm around her, his gaze is elsewhere, and his expression... well, he doesn't really look all that pleased.

It takes Avey a minute or two - she's still all out of breath and fuzzy-headed after all - but she notices. "That was awesome," she says happily as she lifts her head. But - K'del looks not-pleased. "You okay?" she asks him. "Is something wrong?"

"It was fun," agrees K'del, putting that in before tackling the second issue. He gives her a little squeeze, turning his attention back with a wry little smile. "Ah-- s'nothing. Just. Not fussed if you're fantasizing that you're with someone else, I guess, but... /K'ndro/?" Poor ego.

Avey blinks at K'del in momentary confusion that turns to embarrassed chagrin when she figures it out. "Oh - shells, did I...? I'm sorry. K'del! I'm sorry." She kisses him quickly on the lips. "I wasn't, I swear. I guess I've just been thinking about him lately. His bronze caught Leisath," she explains. "But I wasn't /fantasizing/ about him - not like that! Do you not like him?" Her forehead creases as she frowns - apparently she really does actually care what K'del's opinion of the other bronzerider is.

K'del's smile is probably intended to be reassuring, and it's not as though he doesn't return the kiss, however briefly. "S'okay," he promises, maybe a little mollified by the greenrider's explanation. "He-- it's just a little complicated, between us. Him and Milani, and Milandra, and just-- stuff. Sure he's actually a perfectly nice guy."

Avey reaches up to run fingers through his hair and pet him. "Oh, right, because you and Milani are a thing," she recalls. "I don't know him well. But he /did/ seem really nice." She's just a little too starry-eyed as she says that, but she does promptly return her attention to K'del, and kiss him again, more lingeringly this time. "Sorry," she says again. "That was totally rude of me! I'll make it up to you though, I'll owe you, like, ten blowjobs?" she suggests, grinning. "You don't have to redeem them all at once, or anything."

There's a knowing glance, nonetheless, for Avey's starry-eyedness; despite his remarks on K'ndro, it's more affectionate that hurt. And then there's that kiss to distract himself with, and an amused laugh, for her offer. "Think that'll about cover it," he agrees, teasingly, though, more seriously, he adds, "It's okay, anyway. My ego can take it." Okay. Sort of more serious. "Thinking about attaching yourself to a new bronzerider, are you, though?"

"Oh," Avey says, sheepish now. "Is it that obvious? I mean, I /did/ like him. I just... hmmm." She snuggles against K'del, enjoying his proximity. "I don't know him very well, is all. And people are kind of starting to look at me funny for how I get together with people and then just break up with them right after. So maybe I shouldn't... I dunno."

K'del's fingers play around the curve of Avey's hip; he gives the greenrider an amused glance. "You get a /look/, that's all. Guess I've known you long enough now to pick it. Anyway, not going to give you advice either way. Not really the best person for that kind of thing, you know? Just... do what feels right. Maybe, if you're really interested, try and get to know him first."

Avey giggles, much amused. "What, you mean without sleeping with him? It's kind of too late I guess, that's all Leisath's fault, though," she says playfully, as she leans forward so that she can nuzzle K'del's neck. "...could try it though," she says, and then starts to nibble on his ear lightly.

All of this is proving rather distracting, but not so much that K'del can't respond - albeit with a low 'mmm' sound intermingling with his words - to say, "Flights don't count. Just-- well. Maybe worth a try." But it's his /ear/, and okay, his hands are exploring contours again, as his mouth reaches to press a kiss to wherever he can reach.

Where does he /want/ to reach? Avey is nothing if not accomodating. "You are so hot," she says firmly as her hands roam down his back and sides. "Wall time?" And with that suggestion, she goes to work on his ear again. Screw K'ndro! No, no wait. Screw /K'del/. She's going to get it right, this time.

"Glad you approve," is K'del's teasing remark, as his hands go wandering down her butt - and then wrap tightly around her as he hoists her upwards. Wall time it is, then, apparently. At least his height compared to hers makes lifting her easily. Round two is-- enthusiastic. Unsurprisingly.

Avey is equally enthusiastic, and she shrieks the right name this time, too! So it's very much an improvement. "You," she reiterates afterwards, "are So. Hot." Little kisses down his neck and chest - and then she abruptly lifts her head. "Oh yeah!" she says, laughing. "I totally got distracted from what I was going to tell you. I went out on the ocean today, again, and I found an island that I'm pretty sure isn't on any of the maps. Just a little bitty one, about big enough for two or three dragons to land on. But it has a tree in the middle!"

K'del's content to stay just like this for a while, supporting Avey's weight easily-- ah, dragonriders. Big, tall ones. He catches his breath, grinning cheerfully at the greenrider - much better, oh yes - though his smile shades to thoughtfulness as she shares her news. "/Huh/," he says. "Going to check all the maps to make sure, right? Surprises me, that there's stuff not on them... wonder how much more there is."

"It's pretty close to the edge of the maps I've got," Avey says, relaxing happily with her arms draped over K'del's shoulders. "I should see if I can find a seacrafter to ask. Like, maybe they have different maps for their sailors to use? I dunno."

"Worth finding out," K'del agrees, reaching out to run a finger down Avey's hair, around her ear, then down towards her shoulder. "Bet they probably do have maps that're different to ours. With the ocean currents and... whatever. All that stuff. Could be they've travelled that far out themselves, maybe."

"Or!" Avey says, unable to express her excitement at the thought, "maybe it's a place no one's ever been before! We landed and walked around on it. Not that it's big. But wouldn't that be neat? If we were the first ones /ever/ to walk on that island?" She, too, plays with K'del's hair, and leans her head forward to touch noses with him.

It makes K'del laugh, albeit only lightly, his eyes meeting hers as their noses touch. He presses a kiss in to her lips, then, drawing back, notes, "Would be neat. Strange thought, really, the idea that-- shells, how many turns of history? Forever, really. But that it's possible to be the first to see /anything/. Really neat."

"I'll take you there, if you want," Avey offers, eyes shining with delight in her find - well, and the sex is nice, too. "Cadejoth and Leisath could both land; it's big enough." But in the moment, kisses are more of a priority - she leans forward to find his lips again.

"Like to see it," agrees K'del, in between increasingly enthusiastic kisses. Did we mention how much better this is than strap repair? And hidework? Though not even he can hold Avey up forever; he has to shift her, then a second time, then, reluctantly - though not without taking too much attention away from the kisses - carries her back to the couch.

Avey winds her arms around K'del's neck, happy to be carried, especially if it means more couch-nookie. There's a little bit of small-talk, but mainly she just focuses on the sex now, until they're both tired of it, which will probably take a while. And by the time she leaves, she'll still owe K'del a healthy number of blowjobs for him to redeem later, though not the entire original ten.

It's a /really/ good thing K'del still has the stamina of a teenage boy, the way this particular afternoon goes. What's he going to do, if his sex drive calms down one day? Panic! He's grinning as he says goodbye, though, clearly well pleased with the progression of the afternoon-- even if there are still straps to work on, afterwards. Boo.
