| Dinner has come, and only the remains linger on - time enough for some of the weyrfolk who've been up since dawn (or before) to be resting their feet and unwinding with a pot of fragrant tea at their side. For once, Hana is unaccompanied with handywork, instead taking advantage of the light to read a bit of correspondence. The pot of tea, and one of two mugs filled, is at the table at her side. Leova's been one of the feet-resters. Foot-rester, anyhow, the other one braced on her knee so she can pick at the stitches that join upper to sole. Eventually she gets up, sniffs at the soup. Shakes her head. Starts to return, only someone's now in her seat. Someone sopping wet. She doesn't bother with getting it back, instead moving to Hana's table. "Someone coming back?" she asks with a nod to the other mug, the other chair. She asks first, this time. Hana looks up, then shakes her head with a smile, "Not at all - in fact, you are welcome to help yourself," she offers easily enough, the second mug clearly unused. She folds up the letter, and tucks it aside before wrapping hands around the filled mug. "Habit, really - making sure whomever I am speaking with has something to drink if they wish." "Thanks." Though Leova asks, "What's in it? And," this with a one-cornered smile just before she pours, "do you ordinarily hold court here?" "Court, me?" There is a ripple of laughter, before Hana shakes her head, "Surely not. Secret meetings, on the other hand - well, redberry tea can only help me lure others into a sense of false sense of serenity," she 'admits', before taking a sip of self-admitted sneaky tea. "Or on the outer ledge of Snowaisis." "Mm. Redberry tea. Never knew it had a rep for that sort of thing." Leova swirls the indeed-red liquid in her cup before taking a trial sip. "Yes, I feel very serene now. And also secret. Does it work on you or are you by now immune?" Hana smiles into her mug, before putting it to rest between hands and lap. "It varies on time of day, and about of sweetner, I must allow - also on the mix of berry to leaf and amount of sleep." There is a pause, and a glance over, "I am glad it meets your approval - you do, of course, now need to tell me all sorts of things. Because that is the secret ability of the tea." To tell secrets and make tired maids silly. "Ah yes. Feeling the compulsion now." Speaking of sweetner, the dragonhealer adds a spoonful. "Better start asking me questions before it wears off. Don't know as you remember me, by the by: Leova, Vrianth's. Was one of the Glacier riders keeping an eye on the weyrwomen, back when." Hana tilts her head to one side, then nods slightly. "Familiar, though I do not believe we have ever been formally introduced. I am Hana, tea-mistress and mender of clothes," is the rather whimiscal titling. "The tea is to your liking then?" "It is that. I make a practice of not being picky, but it's not hard here. Do you have a favorite?" Leova asks before she sips again. "Tea." "Redleaf for the morning; but the various berry or herb is rather pleasant in the evening." One might get the impression Hana was part tea-leaf. It would not be an inconcievable thought. "Good, good - I shall have to start sharing this blend more often then." The soup bowl gets a glance, before she adds, "Alas, I have not yet determined how to replace the need to eat with it." "Mm." One might also get the impression Leova's taking her seriously. "Alas," the greenrider repeats with more humor. "Don't suppose tea steeped in a good bovine broth would be improving in the slightest." Hana considers it for a moment; actually considers it. "I.. do not think the two would go together. Possibly as a cake - just the tea, but a bovine broth should probably be alone. It does, however, pour into a mug and could be sipped in that manner." "It does that. No beer and tea either, hm? Though my weyrmate's steeped some in different alcohol for his special drinks, now and again." Leova contemplates this with a two-cornered smile, this time. "Would just as soon not have soggy cake, though. Thinking up questions, or forgotten?" Hana hms thoughtfully, "I shall use this time to build rapport, and ask the difficult questions later on in our relationship," she decides, before grinning a bit. "Thankfully, I shall not take that as a challenge. Baking is not one of my skills, though now I am intrigued by the idea. It would be the perfect blending, after all." "Reckon you'd have to serve me more tea, then. You prepared for that?" The greenrider sips once more, amber eyes on Hana. "For cake... maybe as part of the liquid? Or in icing. Don't know a whole lot about that sort of thing, though, been Turns since I've done much in the way of cooking." "Hm.. I like the idea of liquid in the cake or icing; but again, I am not a baker. And..." there is a pause, before yes - there is her name being called, "It would seem I am summoned. Please - enjoy the tea as long as you like. I shall return for my things after I see what is going on," she adds, getting to her feet, mug kept in hand. It will, no doubt, keep her company. |
