BENDEN AREA

At BENDEN HOLD, Lady Lara's turnday was marked with festivities, dancing, cake, an appearance by the reclusive woman and, oh yes, a birth announcement, causing confusion midst the somewhat dubious congratulations. Lord Dorbin was seen showing off a healthy child that looks to be at least two weeks old. Lady Lara never moved far from her perch on the dais. When was the Lady ever pregnant though?

Jolly old Vyad has been less jolly lately and downright crotchety. There's kitchen level gossip filtering out of VINTNER HALL that he even threw pottery down the stairs at a drudge that looked at him funny. Some wonder if it's because the Tillekian master was forced to take on a young, overly precocious Bendenite as his craftsecond, but others are quick to point out Jolly Old Vyad has been anything but jolly for turns now.

FORT AREA

HEALER HALL spring examinations will begin the first day of the third month and continue for two weeks. Classes will be on hold during this time. Healers stationed at IGEN HOLD have been deferred from exam proctoring. Apprentices at Igen Hold have been given waivers for this time.

HIGH REACHES AREA

The SEACRAFT's winter practicals will commence in the upcoming weeks for those apprentices who hope to specialize in wreckage salvage and rescue.

IGEN AREA

IGEN HOLD has been put on quarantine by the Lord and Weyr. The official word from the healers stationed there note that though it is not contagious, people should be careful and that they will be spending the next two months studying the patients. A more discreet healer document may have leaked by a well-meaning steward, rebuking Lord Wulfan for his negligence of the impoverished of his Hold.

Wagers are starting to get serious as to when Vae's gold Dosanyth will rise at IGEN WEYR. Those who bet sometime in the middle of the fourth month may win boatloads of marks. Or at least a small pouch full.

ISTA AREA

ISTA WEYR's gold Nidith and bronze Ziseth's eggs will hatch on day 22, month 2 (2 RL days from now). Notable among the Impressions will be gold Mianyeth to Onyka's niece (also a weaver apprentice), Rachis. The clutch of eleven will be rounded out by 3 browns, 2 blues, and 5 greens.

TELGAR AREA

Things are rocky at TELGAR WEYR as many of the older, more experienced wingleaders are now in open defiance of Y'stin. The (comparatively) young Weyrleader is not finding as much support as might be expected from his Weyrwoman. Those in the know speculate it's not long before Y'stin starts cleaning house.

The SMITH's have released a report detailing new found properties to gold in edible forms. They are said to be working with the BAKERS in continuing this study on pure gold flakes.

SOUTHERN CONTINENT

SOUTHERN HOLD has petitioned HEALER HALL for an established sub-Hall, akin to Ista's, at Southern, to help study the flora in relation to its medicinal uses. The Healer Hall would join the illustrious company of the Beastcraft should they accept Southern's terms.

At IERNE WEYR, it's been said that Summer grows quite unfond of the antics of her former Weyrleader and has made some not-so-funny jokes about finding another Weyr that might take him in. All in jest. Right?
