| When: Day 00, Month 1, Turn 37 (Interval 10) |
| Turnover, Month 1-3 It's the season for weddings! GENERAL The Conclave meeting was a few days late due to a bout of flu that briefly quarantined the host Hold, Lemos. By d10 of the first month, the renegotiating of the marks (the time old tradition of Turnover) resulted in the following: Smith, Farmer, Woodcraft, Minecraft, Weaver, Tanner, Harper, Healer, Fisher, Beast, Glass, Vintner, Baker, Starsmith BENDEN AREA The BAKER CRAFT has retrained many of their journeymen on techniques for what to use when wheat flour is not readily available. The marriage of Nalisse of GRAYSTONES to Matthias of BENDEN HOLD was announced for the 20th day of the sixth month at VINTNER HALL. BENDEN WEYR's gold Torith will rise on d12 of m3 in a showy aerial display above LEMOS HOLD. Hold-Weyr relations will begin to deteriorate adding more problems for the Benden leadership. This event will propel Cora to reclaim much of the tasks she'd passed onto Kyouri temporarily. VINTNER HALL has always been a craft wracked by two competitive (and not in the friendly way) sides of Tillek and Benden. The fact that the main crafthall exists at Benden Hold has long been a sore point for Tillekian winemakers, and when Clio was made Craftsecond, there seemed hope on the horizon for fairness. Then the Craftmaster-Craftsecond politics happened and the unexpected wheat shortages reducing beer/ale production. Late in the second month, the Vintner craft announces the opening of three major branch Halls, with further details to come later. FORT AREA HARPER HALL made two new Masters at Turnover, five new Journeymen, and announced the retirement of four Masters. IGEN AREA Things at IGEN HOLD have finally seemed to settle a little. The guards patrolling have returned to a normal number. Turnover found the Hold in a festive state, with Yuliye making a brief appearance with her son cradled in her arms. Turnover was also when another wedding was announced, that of Yuliye of Crom and Joremy of Igen, slated for d2 m4. This has hold gossips and prudes buzzing about this son born out of wedlock. Other Igen news included a lavish gift of special Igen salts to Lord Cendon of Bitra. No official word has leaked on Lord Joremy's position on his brother's presence at HIGH REACHES HOLD. Two weeks after Turnover (D14, M1, T37), IGEN WEYR's F'rain walked into the living caverns, flanked by two Benden brownrider transfers, and tacked up a notice onto the notice board, delineating the new wing structure at Igen Weyr. Only bronzeriders will be wingleaders and each wing will be comprised of: 10% bronzes, 15% browns, 25% blues, and 50% greens. Chromatic riders who show aptitude for leadership will be slotted into their own wings, typically smaller and meant, expressly, for agile Thread drills. He was seen walking out and sitting in his weyr for fall out, though most of the uproar has found Nimae and K'yan's ears instead. ISTA AREA On d16, m3, Rachis's gold Mianyeth will rise at ISTA WEYR in her maiden flight. It'll be a wet, blustery afternoon. The FARMCRAFT has sent out compliments to the areas of Pern for responding so quickly to the wheat shortage. There are hopes that next summer will see some higher temperatures that often relate to better produce production. TELGAR AREA A BEASTCRAFT apprentice supposedly leaked the news that it's not and never has been Torani that suffers from illness, but that Yuraveth has been inflicted with a disorder that is closely related to human dementia. Dragonhealers, healers, and beastcrafters alike have supposedly been fascinated by how this sort of illness that seems to be in the dragon and how it could potentially impact the rider-dragon/dragon-rider relationship. The dragonriders who still quietly, passively (now) resist Y'stin's leadership are said to not believe this gossip at all, saying they are weak tactics to try and justify their usurping. |
