| It was simple. He had arrived in time that Madilla and Raija were not yet ready, but on the verge. Madilla left them, just a moment, to fetch her outer clothes. The girl watched, wide-eyed, shoulders coming forward, uncertain. When H'kon spoke her name, she looked to him. He squatted down, slowly. "Shall we go fetch your siblings?" He'd put such thought into the words, he'd scarce realised he'd reached out his hand. It was a shock when she took it. « Oh, now you're done for. » And he was. |
