| A decrease in wheat products has led to the increase in meat consumption which has had the herders very focused on making sure the breeding stock is doing well and there is enough beasts of all kinds for every sentient being at the Weyr. The uncharacteristic spate of greens rising have made severe enough inroads in both beasts for food and beasts for breeding and the news begins to trickle down slowly from herders to headwomen, headwomen to kitchen staff, and slowly, large amounts of meat start to recede from the Reaches menu. It's not just the lower caverns that get to hear about and are impacted by the news. The Weyrleaders have met with wingleaders who had the news passed onto them in a large meeting that greens and chasing male dragons should be encouraged to restrict their kills to one if at all possible. It will not be a queens enforced restriction, merely a guideline. From there, people will come to their own conclusions. |
