Day 4 of month 4: a frightened firelizard delivers a message to a Nabol-raised brownrider in the Snowasis: refugees are pleading for evacuation! About seventeen riders from a wide assortment of wings, plus a few weyrfolk, sort themselves out enough to get to Clearview Hold, one of the larger minor Holds close to Rone's winter camp. Among them are Alida, Azaylia (transporting Edyis), and K'zin. In the moonlit chaos (made less chaotic by Hraedhyth's directing traffic), they collect forty-odd residents, largely the young, maidenly, elderly and infirm (as well as a couple strapping boys)... and scraps of news. (But you'd have to ask them for details!)

As a side note, the word goes out the next morning at breakfast: have any blankets/furs or winter gear you don't _need_? Please return them to the caverns' stores. (Some characters may complain but donate anyway, others feel virtuous for their donations to the cause... and still others decide that yes, they really do need every one they've got... whether or not the headwoman might disagree.)
