And Some By Virtue Fall Egg

This egg is black; that is all. Or maybe it isn't, not quite. As the light catches it displays other colors, splashes of blood red and shining copper, deep grey, soft beige browns. They are in spots, or spirals, or twirls, and occasionally another brighter, unexpected color appears in different light: is it a cobalt blue? A deep violet? The pink of a soft baby's blanket? It all depends on how you look at it. In the end, this egg is a shadow; this egg is black, or it could be white, at just the right moment, a combination of all things and all shades possible.

And Some By Virtue Fall egg shudders one more time, yet more multi-hued flakes of shell falling to the sands to gleam there brilliantly, no longer seeming black. Suddenly the egg stops, is still and just as suddenly, bursts into a million pieaces as its blue occupant explodes out of it and rolls onto the sands to sprawl there, nose first and breathing hard. Hello world!

Quirky Investigator Blue Hatchling

Deep, clear blue, almost unbroken in shade paints the solid form of this large dragon. Broad-shouldered and large of paw, his shape is saved from boxiness by long limbs that lend proportion to his physique. A blunted snout and broad brow ridges lend a certain quirkiness to his face, framing intelligent, bright eyes that seem to take in every detail. The shimmer of light through colored glass touches his wingsails when his wings are spread, the only paler hue that infuses his hide. Too long for his body, his tail can be a menace as can the wideness of his wings, though both promise speed and strength in the skies as he grows into them.

Temperament

Khevreth's a bit of a conundrum to all but you, combining a series of bewildering traits that would leave most people gasping to keep up with him. He's a canny, analytical thinker just like his sire and very aware of the world and everything in it like his dam, but where his brother Chalmecath and Mecaith are slow and deliberate, Khevreth is anything but. He's witty and his way with words manifests as sometimes strange and quirky observations on life or the rapid-fire banter of the internally brilliant whose words just can't keep up with the speed of their thoughts.

As a young dragon, Khevreth's rapid-fire thoughts are in constant motion, picking over the details of the world and life in a dazzling kaleidoscope of colors that could leave you a bit dizzy at times. He'll need you to help ground him, keep him balanced or he could get overwhelmed by doing too much too fast. There's just. So. Much. Cool. About. The. World! It's probably his biggest flaw, just how much he gets into and you'll have your work cut out for you to keep him on task, on target and paying attention, especially through the dullest lessons. Rules are just /guidelines/ right? Unlike some of his pickier clutchmates, he'll demonstrate a keen liking for fish above other foods, especially if you combine it with something sweet. Khevreth will actually like trying out some human foods too, even if they're only passing tastes, which could lead to some interesting experiences if he decides to 'borrow' a fellow weyrling's lunch. Borrowing things might be something that he develops a knack for, the decision made that he needs /that thing right there/ NOW, but he'll bring it back, of course he will. Mostly in one piece.

Maturity brings the ability to sit back and reflect more, though Khevreth's thoughts won't necessarily slow down much. It's just that he'll learn to keep some of it more to himself and see an idea through to the end without needing to have someone else help him do so. He'll remain firmly convinced that there's nothing the two of you can't do together, which could potentially lead to leadership if you can both come to a consensus on what you want! His ability to put together a mental puzzle will remain and could be a huge asset should leadership come your way. He'll be protective of his nearest and dearest, there to encourage and show them what he sees in them and world, making him a strong addition to a wing or social group.

Though a canny chaser when he does get up after a green, Khevreth is often too distracted by other thoughts to pay attention to chasing. An idea, a concept hold far more interest for him than the momentary flush and heat of a flight. That is, until he meets just the right lady at which point he'll be utterly unstoppable as passionately enraptured by her as he usually is by the latest and greatest best idea. If he catches her, she'll be all you hear about until he finds something else to fascinate him so. It might be that he tries to bring along his new lady friend to show her what he's discovered; something that could become a bit of a habit!

Liquid and quick, Khevreth may seem like a bubbly gadfly to some, but really he's as deep a thinker as his brother Chalmecath it's just that where the bronze's thoughts are slow and deliberate, his move faster than lightning. He might be frustrated sometimes, waiting for those slower movers to catch up to him, but that doesn't stop them from having some really interesting conversations when they're on the same plane. Likewise, he'll engage you in all of his latest and greatest ideas and schemes, which could lead you both on some incredibly /amazing/ adventures. Fantastic!

After spending some time investigating everything on the sands and checking out every candidate, barely able to keep still, the Quirky Investigator Blue comes to a screeching halt before a brown-haired young woman with a warm smile and lets out an audible croon before trotting forward to butt his head fondly into her hip.

The sizzle of lightning hitting ground nearby makes every hair on your body stand up on end and fills the air with the scent of ozone. There's silence for a moment, then the sudden rush of WORDS! FEELINGS! TIME! THE UNIVERSE! EVERYTHING! It could be too much to bear until it's all reined in a bit and turns into a lovely chorus of sounds and feelings like nothing you've ever heard or felt before. « Chava. Chava. That name is /cool/. Yes. I like it. Oh! By the way, I'm Khevreth. And I think I'd like to try /eating/ something. Yes! Lets! »

Mindvoice

Rapid-fire words patter your thoughts almost constantly when Khevreth is on the prowl after a new idea. It's not that he's not capable of quiet, it's just that his mind is in ceaseless motion, always turning over this or that new thought or idea. His thoughts are scented with lightning and heat through cold, like the vastness of the universe caught in a bottle, shimmering with golden light. He tends to express himself in sudden bursts and flashes of light, sound, images, then pulls back to explain in words what he just showed you. His vocal tone for words is light, an effervescent tenor, easy on the 'ears'.

Put Charlie Crews, the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors and the Tardis into a bottle. Cap and shake and you get Khevreth.

Egg Inspiration: Measure for Measure is my favorite of Shakespeare's works, and one of my favorite plays. It is a "problem play" that doesn't quite know what it is or where it goes, all comedy and all tragedy; and thus, so is the egg: dark, but whimsical.

Name Meaning

You requested a name with the hard CH sound like in Chava and one inspired by detectives or similar. This is a very distant play on "Crews" combining those sounds.
