| 12 Gay Sun Sep 23 21:40 2007 Post-Crom Rumors By the evening of day 28, month 7, everyone knew the basics. Telgar was called to Crom by Lord Crom himself to meet Threadfall. When they arrived, High Reaches' wings were already filling the skies above the Hold. The result was less-than-successful - the scene in the bowl afterward and the busy infirmary are proof enough of that. What no one knows is /how/ such a thing could have happened. There hasn't yet been much of an explanation, given explanations are difficult for such an unprecedented - and disastrous - event. Though Gay sent word through the Weyr that the Weyrleaders were immediately finding answers, some murmur that High Reaches has not even been contacted. But with tempers high and emotions strong in the wake of injury and losses, is a little time to cool off such a bad idea? ......................................TGW.....................................
By the evening of day 28, month 7, everyone knew the basics. High Reaches had shown up when the watchrider had given them notice of fall over one of their major beholden areas: Crom. With alacrity drilled into each wing's heads, quick preparations led to a quicker arrival, only to find themselves met heartbeats later by Telgar's fighting forces. Without enough time to communicate or even more than the accusation of shocked glares, Thread fell and was met quite poorly as two separate Weyrs vied to protect Crom. While a large population of the Weyr remains confused and shocked by such a happening, some blaming Telgar, others blaming Crom for what seems to be a deliberate political action; gossip has begun to churn, as it is prone to - turning into a he-said, she-said rendition of what people might have overheard or misinterpreted in the bowl post-Fall. |
