Wingleader Meeting Results
RL Date: 6 October, 2009
Involves: High Reaches Weyr, Crom Hold
Type: Update
What: After the Wingleader meeting, the Wingleaders return to their wings, and start gathering together useful riders.
When: Day 11, Month 12, Turn 20 (Interval 10)

On the 11th day of Month 12, Turn 20, the Wingleaders of High Reaches had

their weekly wing meeting, at which was discussed the fairly poorly
received announcement about the Crom farmland deal. Word since has been
that on the whole, it was a positive meeting, and while a good half (if
not more) of the Wingleaders remain unconvinced, if not outright unhappy,
about the whole thing, they're at least being loyal to their weyr, and
doing what they need to to help out.

All of the Wingleaders have gone back to their wings to gather up a list
of names of anyone who has any kind of farming experience, even if it's
from turns ago, or in an area entirely unlike the Crom region. The list
will be used to create a working group of riders (and residents) who will
be leading the weyr in the initial stages of the planning required for the
project.

Of course, not everyone who has farming experience is interested, and
while the wingleaders may have agreed to support the weyrleader, their
wingriders have not necessarily followed suit. More than a few former
holders have publicly stated that they accepted search to get AWAY from
farming, thank you very much, and they are not going to take any steps
backwards. Others seem more enthusiastic; some even seem eager to be able
to put to use previous skills - it's better than the same old nothing,
after all.

Ultimately, it's a little hard to tell at this point whether the weyr is
going to be able to pull this off, given the internal politics of it all -
if it's this hard now, after all, how are they ever going to manage to
actually make a go of the actual labour?
