The Gold Node egg shimmers, seeming to undulate with the distorting heat from the sands. Pulsating with life, the hatchling inside takes her time getting out. Soon tiny cracks appear, scuttling over the surface of this perfect egg. The shells seem to melt away, falling to a pile at the feet of this dazzling young creature and leaving her to stand there in all her glory.
Scintillating Sunset Gold Hatchling
When the sun descends, and the water waits to catch it, on perfect nights the sun goes down in only golds. She could have been taken from such a sunset, her body a deep, peachy-gold, like that of the sunset just before it touches the water, Down along her undersides, her tail and legs, the color darkens to a deeper, almost antique golden shade, as if the light there was submerging. The rush of lighter color runs up along her neck, becoming more and more yellow gold, with darker ridges around her eyes. Her head is perfectly shaped, and the gilding shows off her fine structure. Delicate of form, she holds out the promise of grace and elegance in motion. As her wings extend, they are the beautiful heavy yellow color of freshly minted gold, with darker spangles, drops of metal flung against them, interspersed with droplets the color of the dying sun, and the light shade of the upper layer of the sunset.
