Public announcement: S'dar announces "Good evening all... Jenryth's first clutch is about to hatch on the Sands of High Reaches Weyr! '+go HRW-Bowl' and then 'HG' to come watch, or '+watch on HRW-Sands' to watch from afar. Thank you very much!"

Karitha strides out at Laurelin's side, just ahead of the candidates. Taking a deep breath, her eyes lift to the people in the galleries and the dragons on the ledge.

Thaniel comes walking slowly out onto the hatching sands, giving a slight bow the Jenryth and Chezroth..and then turning to their respective riders and bowing, a slight smile crossing his face

Halam moves out of the passageway, onto the sands.

Halam has arrived.

Laurelin stands by the passageway, watching proudly as the Candidate file past her.

The Spattered August Leaves Egg tilts to one side.

Arryn steps out onto the sands, leading the pack of Candidates. She bows quite automatically to the dragons, as taught, then takes a deep breath as she steps into her place, beginning the semicircle 'round the eggs.

Sherazade meanders out of the passageway, onto the sands.

Sherazade has arrived.

The Incarnadine Sky Egg shudders once.

The Orange Rondel Egg rocks back and forth a few times.

Rilsa walks out of the passageway, onto the sands.

Rilsa has arrived.

The Midnight Iris Egg rolls halfway over.

Sherazade steps out opon the sands, her eyes alight with excitement as she tries to see and remember each detail. Bowing to the Queen and her Bronze, she takes her place amidst the others, very conscious she is about a head taller than most.

Xydren move out of the passageway, onto the Sands.

Sharen enters onto the sands, immediately picking up her feet in that funny hop step due to the hot sands. She bows deeply to Chezroth and Jenryth, her face tense with nervousness.

Jennan bows to Chezroth and Jenryth, then to their Riders. He then takes his place on the sands.

W'il strides out of the passageway, onto the sands.

W'il has arrived.

Halam sketches a quick bow to the Queen on his way to his space.

The Incarnadine Sky Egg shivers a bit.

The Pastel Clouds Egg twitches slightly.

W'il walks down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

W'il has left.

The Primordial Maelstrom Egg shudders once.

Kandri walks sitffly, eyes wide and glancing about nervously. Thaniel's bow reminds her to do it as well, and she does so deeply to both dam&sire and their riders. Straightening she moves to stand by Thaniel.

Lystra looks around nervously. She bows deeply to Chezroth and Jenryth before taking her place next to Jennan

Molleny and Perchik, a little Harper boy, enter almost together, Perchik behind Molleny. The small girl is about to go to her place and wait, but a tap from Perchik reminds Molleny to bow first.

Josira bows deeply to the queen, her mate, and their riders.

Laurelin follows after Karitha, smiling and waving to some folks that she recognizes.

Caristan steps out onto the sands and moves forward to take his place in the semicircle as the candidates spread out. He stops and gives a bow to Chezroth and Jenryth, then to S'dar and Matheny before letting his eyes really look at all the twitching eggs.

Alyeniara files out with the rest of the candidates, eye fixed firmly on the candidate in front of her, looking neither right nor left as she pauses to offer a curtsey that begins with elaborate grace, but ends with an awkward stumble as she catches sight of the eggs moving out of the corner of her eye. She quickly moves on to take her place around the eggs.

Sturne comes out, looking somewhat small between both Tobi and Sherazade, the hem of his robe held up in his hands. He pauses before the glowing golden Queen to bow to her politely, also bowing to the Bronze at her side. Then, caught up in the rush of those around him, he gets quickly into place.

With a resounding crack, a blue dragonet makes his way out of his egg and directly into the group of clustered Candidates. After a series of turns and twists, he sees his goal. A young girl with black hair from South Boll squeals in delight as the blue hatchling creels up at her, Impression made.

Oraianda scurries out behind Josi, mimicing her movements to the queen.

Thaniel gasps softly as his attention is turned directly to the eggs as the first dragon hatches.. and impresses

S'dar helps to usher the Candidates out, a big idiot grin on his face, before wandering over to where Chezroth is watching the new arrivals. The bronze gives the Candidates encouraging looks as they reach the Sands.

Lystra looks as a blue hatchling chooses a nice girl. "They make a perfect match!" Lystra exclaims.

Kandri clenches her hands, handily held by Lystra and Thaniel, as the dragonet hatches.

Tobi trails after some and before some others, joining in the sway'd dance of bows and nods and carefully respectful poses taken up by the other candidates. "Jenrthy, Chezroth, m'duty", though her words are lost in the shuffle of feet and thrum of dragons. She grins at Sturne and lures him over into the semi-circle.

Jennan clutches Lystra's other hand, as he shifts his weight to ease the burning in his soles.

Sherazade stays protectively by Sturne and Tobi, murmuring reassurances every so often to the two of them. "Look..see?" she points at the impression, her eyes sparkling.

Rilsa makes her way onto the Sands, her eyes flicker across the ledges and galleries before stopping next to the passageway. After the first impression, she ushers the weyrling and dragonet off the sands.

Karitha actually starts as the first egg hatches. Blinking, she turns and watches the blue emerge, a smile crossing her face. Okay, this is all familiar, even if her position isn't.

Josira nudges Ora with her elbow, as if the other girl weren't already looking in the direction of the ecstatic pair, and whispers to her.

Matheny goes up to Jenryth and puts a companionable arm against her neck for a moment in a hug before stepping away to watch the motion of the eggs, "It's going to be ine hatching Jenryth, just you see."

Arryn has freckles? They're not usually apparent, but she's pale enough that a few sun-kissed blotches are detectable on her nose, as she watches the first Impression occur. Except for that unnatural whiteness, however, she seems steady enough, not even dancing around much since she wore boots instead of sandals.

Alyeniara draws in a deep breath as the first dragonette emerges, watching him with wide eyes and carefully controlled expression until he impresses, then staring curiously, searchingly, at the face of the first weyrling. Then, another egg's movement pulls her gaze back to the eggs.

Halam stays aloof, off to the side alone with his thoughts..save for the loud cracking of eggs and oohs and ahhs from the stands.

Caristan grins and looks around just a bit, taking a moment to gather it all in before focussing back on the movement of the eggs.

Xydren shift his feet as the heat of the Sands gets thru his sandals. He eyes the rocknig Eggs, eyes wild.

The Spattered August Leaves Egg gives a little hop.

Without consideration for anything in her path, a hatchling immediately heads for her lifemate. The creel of hunger penetrates through the din of the galleries. A tall young man collapses to his knees, throwing his arms around a green hatchling, crying out her name over and over as he's led from the sands.

Sturne takes his place in the semi-circle around the eggs, appearing not the least bit more than curious about the whole thing. Of course, he does stick close to both Tobi and Sheradaze, their protective stances seeing to set him more at ease rather than confine him any. He watches the first impression with a slow smile starting to spread across his face.

The Windy Embrace Egg jerks to one side a little.

Sharen sucks in a surprised breath, exhalaing in an audible "Oh" her eyes on the blue, as she takes her place with the others. As the first impression is made she smiles tensely.

Thaniel begins the ever present hatching sands dance of the candidates who wore sandles. He doesn't pay much attention to that though as the eggs continue to hatch and twitch and everything else eggs do

Molleny's head tips to one side. Still watching that first happy pair, she leans to the side to whisper excitedly to a girl nearby, "Wait till my friends back at Tillek hear about this, how close up I was."

Kandri blinks as she realizes her feet are burning up and does a mega hophophop from foor to foot, silently cursing. Making a pained expression she looks back u at the rocking eggs, remembering now to slowly move from foot to foot.

The rest of the candidates, among them Tania and Taiga, take their places among the white-robed candidates nervously shuffling their feet on the burning sands.

Lystra quicklly shifts her burning feet. She watches as eggs bounce, crack, as the hatchlings Impress... Her hand clutches Jennan's and Kandri's tightly, hopefully not crushing them.

The Sealight Emerald Egg rolls a little away from the rest of the clutch as the dragonet housed within punches his way through the brittle shell with brown dappled limbs.

Sherazade wears the grin of the enchanted, and absolutely enthralled. "I knew he would impress! I just knew it!" she cheers for the boy and green.

Oraianda inches a little closer to Josira, putting her feet lightly down on the sands. Only a slight biting of her lower lip tells of the discomfort she is enduring on the Sands.

Aspeckled-brown egg whirls and spins, then stops.

Chezroth trumpets in a mellow baritone voice as newly hatched dragonets emerge and find their new lifemates. He nudges S'dar in the excitement of the moment - fortunately the lad manages to stay on his feet. The young rider grins up at his dragon, and then turns back to watch the Candidates and swaying eggs.

Xydren wanders off...

Xydren has arrived.

Kandri watches, eyes flicking from one egg to another. As yet another hatches, brown this time, her eyes rivet to him the haunting image of a smile touching her lips. But this time she is not so enthralled she forget to shift her feet.

The Sealight Emerald Egg rolls a little away from the rest of the clutch as the dragonet housed within punches his way through the brittle shell with brown dappled limbs.

Thaniel gasps softly as the emerald egg rolls away from the rest, "It's a brown" are his awed words..

The Deep Jungle Egg tilts to one side.

Lystra looks at the Sealight egg. She watches the little hatchingly inside curiously. She does a fast change over with her feet as the heat comes through the sandles.

The Sea's Silent Swell Egg jerks to one side a little.

The Child's Globe Egg twitches slightly.

Sherazade grins at Thaniel and nods. Looking down, way down, she asks Sturne. "You doing okay?"

Pebbled Stream Brown Dragonet

The hide of this tenacious brown dragonet is rife with the myriad shades found in a bed of a vigorous mountain stream. Stones, dappled in hues of umber and loam lay half buried in the soft caress of silty dun along the powerful frame of neck, back and shoulders. Over the still damp belly flows faintly lighter shades of vanilla ~ recollective of a sandy bottom revealed in shallower waters. The same warm hue that tints the belly is also found on the wing pinions and along the edge of the neckridges and perhaps even a trace of it laps along the underside of his muzzle. Appearance is not the only resemblance the hide of this dragonet shares with the beautiful shading of stream bed stones for the texture is here as well ~ hide as soft and smooth as a pebble finely polished by a millenium of flowing waters. In the firm movement that steps him away from his egg brown wings are opened wide for balance ~ revealing mainsails of rich umber embedded with flecks of golden mica that flash and sparkle in the light.

Tobi has freckles, and they are always apparent even beneath Tillek-born sunburn. But she is ignoring them today in favor of her feet. Even in their mismatched, thick-soled sandals, toes wriggle in annoyance at the heat. The young candidate's attention is all for the dragonets though, and she wriggles. "Look 'Zad, isn't he just divine?"

Xydren grins, caught in the excitement, and looks about for friends and to see the already-hatched dragons...

Either he has very good soles on his sandles or he's too involved in what is happening to notice, but Sturne is still, the only movement coming from him the turning of his head this way and that as he watches the first few impressions with great interest, his curious eyes following everything. He nods absently to Sherazade, muttering out a quick, "Yup!" and glancing her way with a bright smile to show he really is.

Molleny rests most of her weight on one foot, the other sticking out to the side, but soon the heat to that one becomes too much all at once. Shifting to the other foot, she lifts the first to rub its top against the back of her standing leg, scratching an itch on her calf.

Caristan smiles as he looks out, admiring the handsome brown dragonette as he leaves his shell. He shifts one foot just slightly to knock warm sand off from his toes.

Lystra looks up to the ledges quickly, hoping that her mother is there. She can't pick her out in the crowd of people, though, so she focuses back down at the eggs.

Jennan barely notices the heat of the sands, as he leans over to Lystra and whispers, "Look at that brown! Isn't he gorgeous?"

Arryn takes the arm of a small and spindly lad next to her and shakes him slightly, saying something abrupt that's lost in the noise of the creeling hatchlings and chattering crowds. One can make a guess what it was, though, since the child takes a sudden deep gulping breath and gives her a shaky grin. Ryn smiles and directs his attention back to the eggs, as if he needed it.

A gasp arises from the Candidates as two eggs split simultaneously to reveal almost identical dragons. Both dragonets stumble, falling as they search for the individual who will be with them from this day forth. A pair of twins from Lemos Hold both cry with glee as they embrace equally the pair of twin blue dragonets.

Halam exhales in a whistle, attention caught by the nearness of the dappled brown.

Alyeniara spares a second to glance around the circle of the candidates, eyes flicking from face to face, a slight smile gracing her lips, quickly replaced with startled interest as one of the eggs near her cracks open. She takes a small, involuntary step backwards, eyes fixed warily on the dragonet until it moves in the opposite direction.

Sherazade grins back and squeezes Tobi's hand. "Remind me to breathe...Shard's look at all of them. The eggs are hopping, and cracking all over the place!"

Laurelin says "No, don't worry, we're going backwards with numbers. You've got Thaniel. He's number 8 now."

Josira brushes a strand of hair from her forehead and tucks it behind her ear, her hand shaking only slightly. She inches to the side, lifting her feet from the hot sand into which they have sunk, shaking each one absent-mindedly as she moves it.

Xydren whips his head about to look at the brown he'd overheard someone mention.

Lystra nods to Jennan. "Indeed he is! Oh, did you see those twins! I thought they might Impress. They sure deserved to." She hops to the other foot and squeezes Jennan's hand a little tighter.

Molleny's eyes go wide as the Lemosian pair Impress. "Ooh, wee. Perchik, did you see? They got brothers." The tiny candidate tugs on her friend's sleeve and is chastised by an impatient tapping of her fingers, not quite a slap.

Kandri watches the brown dragon intently, gaze occasionaly flickering across the other eggs. Licking her lip she turns and smile at Lystra, then THaniel, and then looks up at the ledges lined with dragons, hoping some of her friends are there...and then to the stands, searching the faces. Seeing none that are recognized she turns back to watching the dragonets.

The Pebbled Stream Brown Dragonet stares deeply into Thaniel's eyes.

Xydren shifts his weight from foot to foot and cheers as Thaniel's Impressed!

Sharen's eyes follow the progress of the baby dragons, picking up her feet almost absently now. She grins widely as the twins impress.

Sherazade whoops and claps her hands. "Thaniel! Hooray!"

Lystra cheers and claps her hands then cheers again. "Go Thaniel!" she says over to him

Kandri gasps and turns to Thaniel, eyes wide. "Oh! Oh!" she says quietly, watching.

Thaniel gasps softly as he bends down to embrace the brown hatchling..the tears drip from his eyes as he whispers.. "Oh Tezcath..you are so beautiful"

Caristan grins over at the brown and Thaniel, grinning as he knows Tillek will be represented by at least one good pairing.

The Incarnadine Sky Egg twitches slightly.

Jennan also claps his hands at T'nel's Impression.

Tobi squeezes Zadi's hand back, clutching for a moment before she detangles her fingers to polish away some of the sweat pooling in her palm. Set free, her fingers fret and fray at the hem of her sleeves. Across the way she grins at Arryn - conspiracy -- and turns to watch Thaniel find some Very Sharp Claws of his own. "Than?"

Lystra smiles as she watches the new pair. Her eyes soon look to the other moving eggs, however.

Almost instantly, the hatchling runs over a young Candidate, nearly hitting him with his very sharp claws. Unscathed from injury beyond a bruise or two, the Candidate returns to his feet to the relief of the crowd. The dragonet continues on with nary a glance. A large, muscular girl from the Beastcraft Hall Impresses the sky blue dragonet and practically carries it off of the sands.

Chezroth bugles as Thaniel Impresses the handsome brown, and S'dar grins. "Way to go!" the boy cries before moving over to take Matheny's hand and give it a squeeze.

Rilsa smiles as she sees the fine brown Impressed. With a sweep of her hand, she motoins to him and the dragonet.

Xydren sighs, watching the pairs a long moment, then glances at the crowds in the stands. Invariably, his gaze returns to the rocking eggs.

Molleny almost doesn't see, in her excitement over the Lemosian twins, the boy from her own Hold Impress his lifemate. No matter, though. Perchik is quick to point it out to her, and she beams along with everyone else.

Sturne's bright smile widens even more as he watches the newly hatched brown approach Thaniel and see the pair impress. "Congratulations Thaniel!" he says as brightly as he can, hoping that his usually quiet voica can carry to his friend over the murmur of voices and the hum of dragons in the cavern.

In a violent explosion of shards and an audible CRACK the Midnight Iris Egg is broken apart by the efforts of a sturdy bronze dragonet.

The Child's Globe Egg shakes from side to side for a moment.

Kandri watches Thaniel, eyes happy and sad at the same time. Shaking her head and smiling she turns back to watching the eggs, the gap beside her soon filled wehn Thaniel walks away. Gently she squeezes Lystra's hand, then shifts her feet.

T'nel stands, beginning his stumbling way back off the sands..

T'nel wanders down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

T'nel has left.

Tezcath moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

Tezcath has left.

Arryn grins widely at Thaniel's impression, calling, "Way to go!", then yelps as she realizes even boots won't save you if you stand still _too_ long. A loud crack close by brings her head snapping back around, and she back out of the way as she realizes it's a bronze.

Lystra looks over at Kandri and squeezes her hand. Suddenly she sees the bronxe hatch and an ohh escapes her.

In a flurry of shards the Redwood Timbers Bronze Dragonet steps away from the remnants of his egg and gives a hearty bugle, the sound of which seems to surprise him as much as anyone else.

Sherazade grins. "I don't think he is worried about the claws anymore." She says of Thaniel as he leaves the sands. The resounding crack grabs her attention and she flinches. "Faranth!"

Redwood Timbers Bronze Dragonet

Dark, musty reds and burgundies trace somber patterns up and down the flanks of this young dragonet, though the true bronze of his hide seems to spring forth from behind the patterns to glare in the bright light. His neck, long and majestic looking, ripples with new muscle, and his glistening wings are tinged with an olive green hue. The deep reds of the dragonet's newly formed hide cascade down his forelegs and haunches, giving the illusion of the deep-rooted strength of tall redwood trees within the dragonet's limbs. Coppery highlights seem to drip from the bronze's emerald-hued wingtips as would droplets of dew on a redwood's leaves at the break of a crisp spring dawn. A regal air graces the features of this young dragon - his ruddy snout, eyeridges and headknobs add depth to the character of his face, and though young, he holds himself with a certain inherent wisdom.

Josira jumps slightly as the sound of another egg cracking draws her attention away from Than-T'nel and his new lifemate.

Xydren glimpses a bit of bronze moving, and cautiously focuses on it...

Kandri turns as she hears Lystra and opens her eyes at the bronze. "Oh!" is all she can seem to manage right now, but her face shows the pure thrill and appreciation in her eyes of every dragonet that hatches. Whicning as she again forgets to shift her feet, the young Nabolese girl shifts to her other foot.

Caristan looks up at the resounding cracking noise, grinning a bit more at the sight of such an impressive looking young dragon.

The Hidden Flower Egg shudders once.

Molleny's curls go flinging at the loud crack of the nearby egg, then fall again to her face as she calms her breathing. "It's loud down here," she observes, making the effort to quiet down and become less flappable. The effort is so strong that she has to stick the tip of her tongue out the corner of her mouth, gritting and bearing down on her nerves.

The Dewdropped Fern Egg tilts to one side.

Redwood Timbers Bronze Dragonet stands away from his shards and gives another hearty shake, quivering from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. Huge, whirling dragon eyes scan his new surroundings, first taking in his own shards, then dam and sire then... white things.

Halam shifts repeatedly, searching for a spot cool enough to bear, the sweat trickling down his brow swiped at with the white of his robe.

Chezroth trumpets loudly!! as a bronze emerges - a bronze with a reddish tint very much like his own! S'dar's eyes widen. "Lookee thar," he quips to Matheny. "He's a piece of work!"

Jennan focuses on the new bronze dragonet, taking care to stay out of range of his very sharp claws.

Sherazade scoots slightly behind Sturne in case this young bronze is looking for /him/. "Move back Tobi. Just in case, we don't want to be in the way." she cautions softly

Alyeniara blinks a couple of times, then resumes her staring at eggs and dragonets, shifting lightly from one foot to the other easily, if thoughtlessly. She startles as the bronze's bugle echoes through the cavern, then reaches up to pull at a fallen curl, twisting it around one finger as she watches.

Lystra watches the bronze dragon. Every now and then she looks to her friends, wondering which of them will Impress the handsome boy.

Two impressions in a row almost obscure what could be a disasterous event. An older boy cries out as he goes down under the churning, very sharp claws of a creeling green trying to find her life-mate, only to have her stop moments later, creeling to him in care, obviously finding him.

Chuckle is the only way to describe the tone of the creel the blue hatchling makes as he seeks the one that will care for him. A short, plump boy from Tillek laughs and giggles as he is butted over by an impatient blue hatchling. The two of them walk out together, laughing at their own thoughts.

Sturne turns his head quickly at the sharp report of an eggshell shattering. He catches sight of the newly hatched bronze and gasps softly, gazing at him for a few moments, his brow furrowing in concentration, as if he were trying to remember that sound as clearly as possible. As both Tobi and Sherazade move away from him though, Sturne turns his head back to look at his friends quizzically, tearing his eyes from the bronze dragon on the sands.

Redwood Timbers Bronze Dragonet moves in a gangly display of wings, limbs and tail all moving in whichever direction they please, but somehow he moves forward. Surprisingly fast, he finds himself before a cluster of candidates. But these don't seem quite right. They're... girls.

Kandri watches the impression quietly, happily. The mood of everything finaly sinking in. Shifting, she changes feet so as not to burn again.

Caristan takes a step back, thinking there needs to be a little bit more room between candidates than there is right now, but just a tiny one, as he's paying more attention to the moveing dragonette than anything else.

Xydren smiles absently, eyes absorbing all, shifting excitedly from foot to foot... "They're wonderful..."

Tobi is unable to stand still, and travels from foot to foot like a wayward harper. At the extra noise, to the noise, she looks over at 'Roth and grins before attention turns to the impression the blue beside her. "Too much to /see/", she complains to those closest, grinnign back at Sturne, "Too much to see." And brown-eeys dart from impression to eggs to dragons and back, devouring it all.

Molleny backs away from the bronze, chiding him. "I may not have much," she tells the dragon, gesturing at the front of her robe, "but it counts. Go find a boy."

Sherazade smiles at Sturne. "We're right here, But he maybe yours, and I don't want him going through me to get to you." She winks.

Xydren warily edges away from Sturne, upon overhearing Sher.

Redwood Timbers Bronze Dragonet nudges a redheaded girl, but then gives a rumbling whine. This isn't right. As he lifts his eyes to look back at his sire, something catches his eye. Waddling down the row of candidates, he stops before a slightly older Candidate. This one... This one is the right one.

Oraianda takes a step back from the bronze, leery of his strength, and bumps into Josira. "Oops, sorry," she mutters to her friend, a smile quirking her lips.

The Redwood Timbers Bronze Dragonet stares deeply into Caristan's eyes.

« *Caristan*. » You hear your name echoed from somewhere, and all of a sudden, your surroundings begin to blur, reminiscent of the hazy swirls of a landscape painting. Soon, the only thing you can see clearly is the form of the Redwood Timbers Bronze, standing in front of you with his muzzle raised slightly and his gaze fixed firmly upon you.

Your thoughts begin to swirl as the jeweled eyes of the bronze draw you in, and dimly you sense something else being swirled within them, blending completely and entirely. It comes to you again with no other warning, the soft voice like the light, watery texture of watercolors: « I am *Dzurath*, and we are together. »

Xydren chuckles, grinning at Caristan. "Lucky!"

Tobi's fingers continue to worry away at the hem of her sleeves, though her brazen guffaw is sheer pleasure at the guard's impression. "And so he trades in his sword afterall."

Molleny suddenly shouts. "Ooh-wee! Caristan, you just remember you promised me I could have your sword if you Impressed!" she hollers to her fellow Tillek lad, now a bronze weyrling.

Caristan's smile grows brighter and brighter as he stares back at the beautiful bronze, "We certainly are together, Dzurath!"

Kandri watches the bronze with a bright face, wondering who he shall impress. As he stares up at Caristan she moves her free hand to cover her gasp of wonderous shock, hand squeezing Lystra's...

Lystra stifles a yelp as her feet burn from staying too long in the same spot. She looks over sharply at Caristan and cheers him on. "Go Caristan!" she yells...quietly....

Sherazade steps up near Sturne again and takes reoffers her hand. "HooRah! Caristan!"

Sturne grins boyishly at his both his friends as Sherazade explains and he turns back to watch the bronze move among the semi-circle, watching curiously as he impresses with Caristan. He smiles hugely as the impression is made, stopping just short of letting out a whoop of congratulations for the older candidate.

Josira clasps her hands and brings them to her mouth. "Yes! Caristan!"

Arryn nudges a couple of younger girls out of the bronze's path with her, looking back over her shoulder so she doesn't miss the impression when it occurs. "Don't forget to dodge, if you need to," she reminds them, repeating her favorite bit of received advice-to-candidates. As the bronze selects his lifemate, she sighs happily, murmuring, "Oh good," before she yells congratulations.

Rilsa smiles, "Congratulations, S'rist and Dzurath." She makes her way to help him off the Sands, her expression proud.

S'rist reaches out a hand and rests it against Dzurath's neck, and then turns to walk with his new lifemate to follow after Rilsa.

Alyeniara's eyes widen as she watches impression after impression, and the tension in her posture increases with each moment. Her eyes, rarely still, move from dragonet to eggs to dragonet, and, unobtrusively, she takes another half step backward, widening the uneven circle of candidates a bit. She grins a quick congratulations as she catches sight of Caristan and the bronze.

High Reaches Weyr Hatching Grounds(#511RJaes)

The sands are stiflingly hot beneath your feet, nearly burning through your footwear and keeping even this large high cavern quite warm. A mound of sand has been gathered up in the center of the cavern, and this is where the queen has laid her eggs and watched lovingly over them while they hardened. Now finally the eggs have started to rock and hatch, and the cavern is filled with the humming of dragons, the cheers of the spectators, the scared and hungry creels of the dragonets, and the muffled encouragments of the candidates.

Bordering the sands to the south and west are the tiered benches of the galleries. Ledges for spectating dragons jut out from the cavern walls in every direction high above. A dark passageway leads off the sand towards the Senior Queen's weyr.

Jennan smiles with pride as Caristan Impresses the wonderful bronze.

Dzurath moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

Dzurath has left.

Halam smiles at the latest pair, eyes darting from them back to the eggs nearer his stand, watching one that begins to crack and crumble.

You start down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

Senior Queen's Ledge(#2526RJLMs)

This enormous ledge is large enough for several full-grown dragons to land on at once. The surface is scored and marked from all the years of use, and there's a distinctive hollow at the far end that must be the best spot for sunning. The rear of the ledge is covered by a high protective overhang, making it tolerable to stay out here even in miserable weather.

A long flight of steps leads down to the bowl floor, and another just above it leads up to the Weyrleader's weyr. Beyond the stairs to the Weyrleader's weyr is a narrow passageway to the east that leads to the Weyr Council Chamber. Another wide tunnel to the north branches into two directions: the north passage leads directly into the weyr proper, while the west branch is a long passageway to the hatching sands.

The evening is clear, not a cloud to be seen, giving you a perfect view of the stars. The smaller Belior is a nearly full waxing gibbous while Timor shines brightly as a full moon. There seems to be a light breeze and the fall air is pleasantly warm.

Into Weyr Weyrleader's Ledge Passageway to the Hatching Grounds Council Chamber Bowl

After going down a long broad passageway, you emerge on the Senior Queen's ledge.

From the sands> S'rist walks down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> S'rist has left.

From the sands> Nervous, the Candidate shifts from foot to foot on the hot sands as his eyes scan the hatchlings. The nervous look suddenly turns to joy. The thin blond boy from Igen Weyr begins to cry with happiness as he leads a small brown dragonet off the sands.

From the sands> The Incarnadine Sky Egg gives a little hop.

From the sands> The Spattered August Leaves Egg twitches slightly.

From the sands> For one moment a hush seems to hold the hatching sands. The silence that lasts only half a breath is broken by the sound of an egg shattering around the [v(egg_name) Dragonet.

From the sands> S'dar cheers Caristan - the newest High Reaches bronzerider - from his spot beside Chezroth. "Dzurath," he echoes, mulling it over for a moment.

T'nel looks up from Tezcath as Cari..er..S'rist enters, "Carist...er...what do I call you now?" he grins slightly, eyes full of glee..

From the sands> Lystra looks sharply at the moving eggs and the hatchlings. She watches in awe and admiration as they Impress one after another.

From the sands> Xydren watches the bronze go, and reminds himself silently to congratulate Caristan.

S'rist grins, "Call me S'rist I guess, first thing that pepped into my mind."

From the sands> The gold dragonet moves away from her shards and looks around her in an almost anxious fashion. Jewel toned eyes whirl with excitement as they survey the many candidates spread forth before them.

From the sands>

Autumn Woodlands Gold Dragonet

Majestic woodland trees enveloped by the blazing tinctures of autumn enswathe the hide of this dragonet in a warm embrace. Russet copper and fired bronze imbricate with soft yellow over her belly and back in the impromptu pattern of drifting leaves. The arete along the middle of her neck, most of her back and all along her sinuous tail is shaded in the same vibrant amber gold that marks the finer definition of the knobs crowning her head. A flexing of immature wing muscles reveals the glory of near translucent sails with the shimmer of finely spun gossamer. Not beautiful in an entirely conventional way, this golden creature possesses an ethereal element to her poise, an empyreal stir to her movements, despite her new hatched awkwardness. Enchantment is the word most may use to describe the feeling this dragonet inspires ~ the sort of enchantment that makes everything else around her seem somehow less real.

T'nel grins and is about to head over to shake his hand but all thoughts go out of his mind as he turns back to look at the hatchling.. "Oh yes, darling..I promise you we will get you something to eat.."

Tezcath nudges T'len with a fond butt of his head and a hungry rumble.

From the sands> Lystra looks over and gasps at the beautiful gold hatchling. She looks it over, wondering to whom it will Impress.

From the sands> Kandri turns slightly as she catches another dragonet hatch. At the sight of the gold she claps her hand over her mouth, nearly falling backwards. But she manages to stay on her feet and watch in stunned silence, forgetting once again to hop from foot to foot.

From the sands> Xydren turns upon overhearing gasps to also gape at the golden beauty that just appeared.

S'rist smiles and slips an arm around Dzurath's neck and grins over at T'len, "Guess we weon't be going back to Tillek now..."

From the sands> Sherazade rubs her ears as her heart seems to be pounding in them, She looks to who she thinks will impress the gold and smiles, hoping she is right.

Lissabet circulates among the handful of new weyrling pairs, making sure that everyone has enough food and knows what to do.

Ceres smiles, "Not for awhile.."

T'nel grins softly, "Yes.."

From the sands> Jennan moves out of the gold dragonet's way, to leave the path clear for the girls.

From the sands> Sharen's eyes widen as the gold hatchling breaks her shell. She shifts around on the sands, her eyes going to the array of girls around her and then back to the baby dragon.

T'nel looks up at Lissabet and smiles happily and begins slowly feeding the brown.. "Here you go..here you go.."

From the sands> Josiratenses her hand on Ora's arm, her eyes drawn to the golden flash on the sands, heat and sand forgotten in the dragonet's beauty.

From the sands> Molleny's small mouth forms into a quiet "Ooh, wee," her favorite expression of surprise and pleasure. "Perchik, lookit. Lookit, lookit!" she whispers hoarsely, tugging once again on the Harper boy's sleeve. Exasperated, the Perchik gives her a nudge with his elbow. "I'm lookiting, for Faranth's sake, Moll. I'm lookiting."

From the sands> Candidates begin to cluster closer as the Impressions begin to make a dent in their numbers. However, even the best attempts are brought to naught by the movements of the determined dragonets. A cluster of young men flies apart and a barrelling blue hatchling makes a dash right for one of them in the center, Impression is made.

You bespeak 7Dragonet with « Now that we're out of that heat, you ready for some food good looking? »

From the sands> Arryn's composure, which she'd just done a rather good job of recovering, is lost utterly all over again as the gold egg springs apart and drops its brilliant burden on the sands. She gulps and forgets all her own advice for a moment, standing frozen and unbreathing until the hot sands penetrate her feet, and thence her brain, getting her moving again.

From the sands> Halam follows the movements of the gold with some interest - she is the gold, after all. But soon enough, his attention is dragged back to a brown searching for his mate nearby.

From the sands> Alyeniara draws in a quick breath at the appearance of the gold dragonet, eyes fixing on her for a long moment of breathless silence, like everyone else, just taking it in. After a moment of still staring, she pulls her gaze away, to let it skim over the rest of the sands.

From the sands> Chezroth, having been trumpeting before, now lets loose with a big byoooogle! for the newest Gold. He gives Jenryth a whap on the haunch with his tail as he watches its first steps. He looks like he might get up and start strutting around the Hatching Grounds, but fortunately he manages to restrain it.

W'il circulates among the weyrlings, ensuring that each is attending to his or her new lifemate properly.

From the sands> Quickly following the impression of the bronze, Sturne starts as the gold hatchling emerges from her shell. He gazes at her a moment, eyes wide with excitement and awe. After a few seconds though, he follows Tobi and Sheradade's lead, lifting the hem of his robe and taking a quick step back from his friends. He mutters out a quick, "Just in case."

From the sands> Kandri lowers her hand slowly, eyes riveted to the gold and her movements. By impulse she takes a small step backwards, whatd rives her unknwon.

From the sands> Tobi is busy hitching up her Arryn-built robe, for all the good it does her. Having hemmed it herself, that's the part that's first to get in her way as she shuffles a little bit sideways back towards the comfort of other candidates. One hand tugs on a braid, the other disappearing up into her sleeves. "Gawsh."

From the sands> Xydren shakes his head, and retreats a bit from the girls, almost bumping into another boy.

From the sands> The Incarnadine Sky Egg rolls halfway over.

Lissabet says "Don't let him choke himself..." She grins to T'nel, half ruefully. "You'll spend the next couple of Turns protecting him from his less sensible impulses, so you might as well get used to the idea."

T'nel grins and nods slightly, "Yes ma'am.."

Dzurath> My innards are grumbling loudly... I must put something in them!

From the sands> Sherazade chuckles at the blue. "Determined little guy." she looks at Sturne and laughs. "You'll be back up here in a minute."

S'rist walks over with Dzurath to one of the food bowls, and gets a handful of meat chunks, "How much do we need to feed them this first time?" He goes ahead and offers the first handful to Dzurath while waiting for advice.

From the sands> Amidst the flurry of activity, a gentle scene rises to the delight of the Weyr. A tall, older girl from Telgar Weyr quietly Impresses a green hatchling and leads it off of the sands to the loud creeling of the dragonet.

T'nel has disconnected.

From the sands> A gasp of 'oh' comes from Tania, and she clenches her fists in a sudden nervous gesture, as the gold emerges from her egg and looks around. She quickly looks from one girl's face to each of the others...who will the tiny queen Impress?

T'nel has connected.

From the sands> Xydren watches the bronze go, and reminds himself silently to congratulate Caristan.

From the sands> The Autumn Woodlands Gold Dragonet moves from her egg with a regal bearing and looks the gathering of white robed candidates with a look of shy anticipation. Another few steps and it becomes apparent that a bit of shell is caught on the tip of her tail and is being carried along behind her, adding a little something extra to her otherwise majestic poise.

From the sands> Kandri has disconnected.

From the sands> Oraianda returns the squeeze, her own eyes hungrily following the movements of the golden form.

W'il leans down to reply to S'rist. "They're famished. We'll help you keep an eye on them but don't worry for a good while."

Tezcath warbles up at T'nel with a look of utter adoration.

From the sands> Kandri has connected.

You bespeak 7Dragonet with « Here we go, this looks pretty good, doesn't it? »

From the sands> Xydren glances at each of the girls, wondering just who...?

S'rist grins and gets another handful, "Alright sir, I'll just see what I can do about that rumbling noise this guy calls a stomach then."

From the sands> Jennan quietly chuckles at the sight of the gold dragonet's tail, the heat of the Sands momentarily forgotten.

From the sands> Arryn makes a small half-muffled noise and takes a teensy shuffling step forward, all the instincts of her headwoman training affronted by the trailing bit of shell. Discipline holds, however, and she quickly checks herself and gets back in the loose arc formed by the female candidates.

From the sands> Xydren mutters to Sturne, "... wonder... daring enough... that..."

W'il chuckles. "Very good." He turns to another weyrling who seems to be having a bit of difficulty. "Easy," he intones, "one handful at a time."

From the sands> Alyeniara, with amused dismay, lifts a hand to cover her mouth, and incidentally hide her expression as she watches the small queen, her ever moving eyes caught on the bit of shell marring the gold dragonet's otherwise dignified progress.

From the sands> Lystra looks around, wondering, just wondering. She shifts her feet so as not to burn them and trips over her left foot. If it weren't for Kandri standing next to her, she might have fallen over.

From the sands> Kandri licks her lips slowly, watching the gold make her way to the girls, taking a breath she takes the step forward again, turning to look at Lystra a moment, then back at the gold.

From the sands> Molleny, noticing the addition to the gold dragonet's hatching-day finery, brings both hands up to stifle an impish giggle, shoulders hunching and eyes glinting with devillish amusement. The longer she looks, the less covert become her snickerings at the dignity-impaired gold.

From the sands> As soon as she feels the eyes upon her tail, the Autumn Woodlands Gold turns her head to see what's it's done. Her tail turns with her body, and so the young queen gives a merry chase for a moment before the shell slips free and the gold is left to give a confused warble. Recovering her ethereal dignity after a moment her glorious eyes are turned towards the waiting candidates.

From the sands> Sherazade grins. She mutters to Tobi.

From the sands> Nerves are tight as each Candidate clutches and holds a breath, hoping against hope that he or she are chosen yet afraid to move closer to the main group. A young boy, almost hiding behind everyone else, is snuck up from behind by a small blue, their paths cross and lifemates are made.

Lissabet chuckles and passes over another half-bowl of meat to S'rist, compliments of a new greenrider whose beast is already stuffed and dozing.

From the sands> Xydren holds his breath, waiting, curiousity eating him alive...

From the sands> Lystra watches the dragonet and scowls as she hears a giggle.

Rilor has arrived.

S'rist smiles and takes another handful of meat, "Thanks, ma'am, I think I just might need all of it."

From the sands> Tobi sinks back into the sea of candidates behind and beside her, trying to look distinctly inedible. She beams at those closest, and raises one freckled hand to swat away the sweat gathering along her forehead. "Isn't it though?" She grins at Zadi and watches the dragonet. "I bet she has very sharp claws as well."

From the sands> Sharen has reconnected.

Lissabet says "It's all right, we've enough for all."

From the sands> Sturne watches the Gold move about regally, his smile growing with each passing moment. It would appear that he's beginning to notice the heat from the sands now too, since he is barely beginning to shift his feet to and fro... almost inperceptably.

From the sands> Sherazade smiles. "I like her. I think she's got spunk..just look how she carries herself. High Reaches Has a wonderful new queen!"

Rilor has left.

T'nel has disconnected.

From the sands> Alyeniara grins as the queen manages to remove the bit of shell, then, as a subdued murmur alerts her to the other impressions taking place, she looks around quickly, noting dragonets and moving eggs, then scanning the candidate circle with deliberate slowness.

From the sands> Arryn chortles softly, the way mothers do when a child produces a talented but faintly absurd accomplishment. That momentary loss of aplomb is behind her now, and she breathes easily as she waits for the new queen to make her choice, light on her feet and prepared to move out of the way.

From the sands> Matheny covers her mouth with a hand as the young gold chases her tail a bit and then leans against Jenryth with a hearty chuckle.

From the sands> Molleny's giggles still a little as the scorchingly hot sands spread their heat up her boots to her feet, and then the laughter is punctuated by the hopping around which accompanies such localized discomfort.

From the sands> Josira sidles closer to Ora. The knowledge that she isn't alone on the Sands comforting. She laces her fingers through the other girl's with a smile before returning to watch the gold.

From the sands> Now that she's been able to set her full attention to the matter of selecting a candidate the young queen moves towards a small group of girls, her golden hued face upturned as she scan each face, looking for that special someone meant for her. At last she pauses and lowers her head to gently bump into the midsection of a friendly looking girl.

From the sands> The Autumn Woodlands Gold Dragonet stares deeply into Josira's eyes.

From the sands> A volley of finely shattered egg shards pelt towards a candidate standing too close to the Spattered August Leaves Egg as the dragonet finally emerges.

Lissabet looks up. "Jerideth says the queen just Impressed..."

From the sands> With a smile, Rilsa steps forward just slightly to escort the new weyrling and her Gold from the heat of the Sands.

From the sands> A bronze shatters from the egg that has nurtured him for so long and immediately seeks the lifemate that he senses near. A handsome young man with sunny blond hair from High Reaches Hold is oblivious to the congratulations of his compatriots as he leads his new bronze off the sands.

From the sands> Xydren whoops, "Congratulations, Josira!" Then stumbles back at the minor explosion of the August Leaves egg.

From the sands> Josira sinks to the sand, her hands cradling the head of the tiny queen. "Oh Yventh," is her soft reply.

W'il tilts his head. "Oh?"

From the sands> In a flurry of dark brown wings the Shadowy Fen Brown shakes the remains of his egg from his shoulders, further littering the sands in shards.

From the sands> Sherazade claps and whoops happily! "Wonderful! Wonderful!"

S'rist grins and keeps feeding Dzurath, glancing with just half an eye back down the passageway, "Any word on who it was?"

From the sands> Lystra gasps and claps /really/ loudly. "Go Josi!" She's just toooo happy.

From the sands> Tobi chuckles, nudging her shoulder at Sturne again. "Wow. And here I thought she wanted you."

Lissabet chuckles. "But he doesn't remember the girl's name..."

From the sands>

Shadowy Fen Brown Dragonet

A near-tropical lushness of shadowy reeds and moss cloaked oaks holds sway over the egg dampened hide of this shy young brown. Attractive in a very haunting fashion his mannerisms, motions so hesitant as to be almost languid, as well as his appearance bring to mind a lonely, forgotten fen, a place of aching attraction, hidden in hues of dark umber and subtle sungold. Archeronian waters of topaz that at first glance appear placid and calm but upon closer scrutiny are discovered to possess quickly flowing currents of ivy and tiger-eye just beneath the surface ebb swirl over his back and hide quarters. Mosses of a brown so pure as to be a candle's breath away from utter midnight hold the tip of his tail and the ridges of his neck in a dark, protective embrace. A slight movement momentarily shows powerfully etched wings in the shades of hardwood leaves ~ fall russets and browns draped in the shadows of a day near dusk.

From the sands> Alyeniara smiles widely as the gold dragonet impresses, then frowns and looks down at her feet, expression one of betrayal as she lifts first one foot, then the other in the too long neglected movement.

Yventh moves out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

From the sands> Yventh moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Yventh has left.

From the sands> Sturne takes an involuntary step forward and places himself between his two friends, having to peer out from around them to watch as the golden queen impreses to Josira. He watches them for a long moment, grinning up at Tobi for her comment.

From the sands> Molleny's chest suddenly puffs out, laughter gone. "She's from Tillek," announces the smaller Tillekster proudly. "Another Tillek rider. See, Perchik?"

From the sands> Oraianda moves off to one side with a smile, realizing she's lost the attention of her friend.

From the sands> S'dar gasps as the vibrant gold finally chooses its lifemate. He bites his bottom lip, grinning widely, as Josira says its name. "Yventh," he echoes. "Gracious, that's a pretty name."

From the sands> Arryn whoops aloud and cheers for Josira as she leads the new gold from the sands.

From the sands> Lystra ahhs a brown hatches. Her eyes are immediately attracted to it and she watches it closely.

From the sands> Kandri watches, her face rising in the most happiest of smiles for her friend. "Oh...Josi..." she whispers, smiling happy and watching them leave before turning back to her feet hopping and egg watching. Then her eyes go to the newly hatched brown and she grins again, becoming more at ease as the hatching goes on.

From the sands> Sharen grins widely as Josira finds her new lifemate then turns her attention back to the remaining eggs, flinching as egg shards fly.

From the sands> Jennan grins and applauds the new Queen and her Rider.

From the sands> Sharen has partially disconnected.

From the sands> Halam has an odd cast to his eyes as Josira and Yventh mate, closely regarding their exit. A sudden cracking on the other side spins him around to the appearance of a tiny, squawking green.

From the sands> Sherazade giggles and steps up close to her smaller friends again. "It's not over yet..Look at all those eggs still out there."

From the sands> Shadowy Fen Brown Dragonet steps on the remainder of his shell snapping it nicely under his foot as he comes to his feet. A few steps towards the tight, tired faces of the Candidates and you can already see the determination in his stride.

From the sands> Josira stumbles to her feet, leading the tiny gold from the Sands, murmering reassurances to her.

From the sands> Xydren edges warily a bit away from the brown...

Josira wanders out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Josira has arrived.

From the sands> Josira meanders down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Josira has left.

W'il smiles warmly at the new goldrider. "Congratulations."

From the sands> Lystra watches the brown dragonete with great interest. She looks at his determination. Her hand clutches Kandri's tightly.

From the sands> Kandri watches the brown, smile staying on her lips, feet moving.

From the sands> A young man with a red nose which he continuously wipes on his sleeve is overjoyed as a small blue dragonet is Impressed by him. A cheer goes up from a portion of the crowd from Fort Hold.

From the sands> Sherazade waves and calls her congratulations to the red nosed boy as he goes, turning slightly from keeping her eye on the brown.

S'rist looks up from feeding Dzurath and grins, "Josi!?"

From the sands> With his friends surrounding him once more, Sturne takes a quick survey of the mound of eggs, watching as the determined brown heads away from his shards onto the sands. The small lad recovers a little of his prior calm curious glance, although his feet still shuffle a tiny bit, almost of their own accord.

From the sands> Xydren glances at Sturne, and taps his shoulder to draw the brown's viscinity to attention.

From the sands> Shadowy Fen Brown Dragonet pushes past an alert boy who steps out of the way towards a thin knot of scared Candidates that remain. He stumbles a bit as his talon fouls from the last of his egg but he goes on dispite the difficulty.

From the sands> Jennan stares longingly at the brown dragonet.

From the sands> Two dragonets appear from the broken shards of eggs and cross paths to find their lifemates on the Sands. A girl with bow-like lips and honey-blond hair falls to her knees, crying out the name of her lifemate and calling to her parents in the crowd.

From the sands> Chezroth watches the tiny queen leave, eyes whirling with deep contentment and pride. S'dar will most definitely never hear the end of this, as can be seen by the lad's rolling his eyes at Chezroth's incessant nudging and rumbling into the young rider's ear. The bronze soon turns to watch the brown on the Sands, grunting a bit as it stumbles.

From the sands> Laurelin has been standing silent during this whole thing, just watching, her eyes full and wet as she relives her own Impression, seemingly forever ago, through the experiences of these worthy candidates. She takes Karitha's hand, and squeezes it with a smile to her friend.

From the sands> Alyeniara stops her constant shifting and instead pulls one leg up, holding her foot just above the sand until distraction causes her to loose her balance and touch down with that foot again. A frown, and she begins the constant shifting motion again, twisting around to see the cause of the cheering from one direction, then back around to stare as a wildly rocking egg catches her attention.

From the sands> Kandri twitches in want to go help the hatchling from his stumble and does half courch to one knee, but stands back up again, remembering what she was told.

Lissabet turns to watch the new queen and her rider enter and carries her a bowl of meat. "Josira! Congratulations..."

From the sands> Lystra watches and silently congratulates the hatchling on not falling and continuing forward. "He beautiful!!" she exclaims to Kandri and Jennan

From the sands> The Shadowy Fen Brown Dragonet stares deeply into Lystra's eyes.

From the sands> Without hesitation, the dragonet moves from the broken egg to her lifemate. A tall, lithe young woman with a beautful face from South Boll begins to cry as she whispers her lifemate's name in a voice only she and the small green can hear.

From the sands> With a melodic tinkering sound much like broken glass a particularly fragile looking Tangled Skein Egg shatters, revealing the dragonet it has kept hidden all this time.

From the sands> Kandri watches with wide eyes as Lystra impresses and then looks down to the brown.

From the sands> Sherazade smiles warmly. "A good impression! Well done Lystra!" she claps heartily

From the sands> Xydren cheers at Lystra and her new companion,

From the sands> Lystra gasps and reaches down to the dragonete. She hugs him tightly. "I've found you too, Rhouenth."

From the sands> Makes her way back from th escorting of a group of weyrlings in time to see Lystra Impress. Her lips form a smile, her expression remiscing. "Welcome, Lystra and Rhouenth." she says, extending a hand.

From the sands> The Night Shrouded Jungle Green Dragonet takes an uncertain step away from remains of her shell and gives her surroundings a curious look.

From the sands> Rilsa moves to escort the two

From the sands>

Night Shrouded Jungle Green Dragonet

Like night descended over the lush lattice work of jungle treetops, with only a flicker of starlight through the branches, the hide of this young green is so dark it is nearly black. Still, she is undeniably a green, for when the light bathes her with a subtle caress, the iridescent sparkle of hidden, vibrant color flashes brilliantly forth. Beneath the black green are brilliant flashes of warmer, lush greens. All along her underbelly is a speckling of flecks of white, making it seem like a window on the night sky. Every limb is a graceful curve, almost poetry in form completed by jeweled eyes wide upon the new world outside her shell. Movement, though, breaks the spell. Elegant features are not matched by graceful agility, and her steps forward are even more awkward than her clutchmates.

From the sands> Jennan shouts his congratulations to Lystra!

From the sands> Sherazade turns to the freshly shattered egg and holds up a hand as fragments fly towards her face. "Faranth!" she shakes her head and steps back, brushing her face clean.

Rhouenth moves out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

From the sands> Rhouenth moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Rhouenth has left.

From the sands> Sturne watches the path of the brown as he heads right for Lystra and smiles warmly at the pair as they impress. This time, he doesn't stifle the whoop of congratulations that comes up by itself.

From the sands> Kandri smiles happily to her friends, tears quietly running down her face at the overwhelming joy. "Oh Lystra..." she whispers to her friend, loosening her hand from hers and taking a step away. And then she turns back to the newly hatched, hands going to wring her robe, now that no hands are handy to squeeze.

Lystra strides out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Lystra has arrived.

From the sands> Lystra strolls down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Lystra has left.

From the sands> Xydren smiles at the sight of a young green looking about.

Josira smiles tearily up at Lissabet and takes some of the meat, offering it to the queen.

From the sands> Tobi just works on keeping the sweat out of her eyes, and trying to track the impression of her friends. "That was Lystra? Gawsh, how great."

Lystra smiles at Rhouenth and frowns slightly. "Food, he wants food!"

W'il waves Lystra into the ledge. "Congrats." He hands her a bowl of meat.

From the sands> Night Shrouded Jungle Green Dragonet lids her wide, jeweled eyes several times as she looks out at her new surroundings. Immediately, the white robed candidates catch her eye. Lurching forward, she goes to make a dash towards them, but promptly plants her snout in the remains of her own shards.

From the sands> Halam cants his head to the side as he considers the green. "Reminds me of Boll."

From the sands> S'dar turns quickly, eyebrows furrowed, thinking that someone on the Sands has just impressed a dragon named Faranth. Realizing it was an exclamation, he grins and shakes his head a bit at his own silliness.

From the sands> Xydren says "It's happening so fast..."

Lissabet * reminds Josira and Lystra not to @chown the dragons yet, and do '+watch on hrw-sands' if you want to keep watching the hatching. Your dragons do like spam, don't they? :)

S'rist grins as he keeps feeding Dzurath, "Congrats Lystra!"

From the sands> Xydren grins at the green. "For them, too, it seems."

Lystra takes the bowl of meat and feeds it to the dragonette. "There, that better?" she says out loud to the dragon. She continues to feed the little dragonete.

From the sands> Alyeniara blinks wildly as a drop of sweat, unheeded, falls into her eyes and blurs her vision. One hand comes up to wipe at her eyes, then she squints and blinks and stares, trying not to miss anything.

From the sands> Molleny, who had been so puffed up with pride that she'd missed everything after her fellow Tillek resident Impressed, swivels her head back to the center of the action, ringlets jouncing. "Who was that?" she asks Perchik, then barely listens as he fills her in.

From the sands> Arryn pulls a small girl from Nerat gently out of the path of a charging dragonet, thus missing Lystra's impression. She hears the congratulations, though, and looks up with a smile, adding her own belated well wishes. The hatching more than half over, she's relaxed considerably, and almost seems to be enjoying herself.

From the sands> Two impressions in a row almost obscure what could be a disasterous event. An older boy cries out as he goes down under the churning, very sharp claws of a creeling green trying to find her life-mate, only to have her stop moments later, creeling to him in care, obviously finding him.

From the sands> Jennan offers to hold Kandri's hand, now that Lystra is gone.

From the sands> Night Shrouded Jungle Green Dragonet picks herself up with an indignant creel. Shaking her deeply dark green muzzle, most of the sand goes flying but a light coating still remains. Onward she goes again, giving a new meaning to the word gangly as she flails forward towards the Candidates.

From the sands> The Rolled Waves Egg twitches slightly.

From the sands> Kandri turns a smile on Jennan, nodding slowly and going to take it. And then she goes back to watching the little green make her slow way across the sands.

From the sands> Eyes wide, a girl stares at the breaking eggs, unable to even move when a hatchling screeches to a halt. The tiny girl who looks to be no more than a child from Ruatha shouts out the name of the little brown hatchling who gazes up at her with adoration.

From the sands> Sherazade has a few scratches welting up on her cheeks, but her eyes are locked on the green, trying not to step forward to help her up from her fall. "That's a girl." she says softly as the green recovers.

From the sands> Xydren jumps upon hearing a cry of pain, a funny sound coming from his throat-something like "Erg!"

From the sands> Night Shrouded Jungle Green Dragonet barrels forward almost recklessly. Once she got those deceivingly graceful looking limbs moving, she's not about to stop them. A sinuous tail flails behind her as she careens into a candidate, bumping Sherazade in the legs and likely knocking the girl down to her eye level.

From the sands> The Night Shrouded Jungle Green Dragonet stares deeply into Sherazade's eyes.

You bespeak 7Dragonet with « Are you feeling full yet? »

From the sands> Tobi blinks and takes a few steps back, laughing. "Zadi! SHe found you!"

Dzurath> I am not full yet... soooo hungry... keep it coming!

From the sands> Stumbling to the Sands, a piteous sound erupts from the green hatchling as she sees her goal but is hampered by her clumsiness. After a short struggle, the hatching continues on her journey. A loud cheer goes up from one section of the crowd as a young man from the Harper Hall Impresses a green.

From the sands> Kandri turns and watches the green impress, smiling again and shaking her head, overwhelmed by her friends impressing.

From the sands> Xydren tosses Sherazade's direction a salute.

From the sands> "Woo, Zadi!" Arryn shouts, then laughs at herself since she didn't mean to be quite _that_ loud. She claps her hands for her friend, hopping around a little as she tries to cool her feet.

From the sands> Jennan smiles and congratulates Zadi on her Impression. Only those near him can see that the smile is a little strained.

From the sands> The Incarnadine Sky Egg rocks wildly from side to side and then surprises you by splitting wide enough to release a green hued tail.

From the sands> Alyeniara blinks a couple more times clearing her vision just in time to watch Sherazade impress. A smile finds its way to her face, and she adds her voice to the wave of congratulations.

From the sands> Sturne has his head turned away so he isn't following the path of the green and doesn't see until the last moment, when he takes a quick step back, eyes wide with awe. "Zadi!" he exclaims, opening his mouth to say something else but nothing else seems to come out, so excited is he for his friend. He watches the impression carefully instead.

S'rist smiles and digs deeper into the bowl for more meat, "Here you go... just don't choke on it." He grins and rubs Dzurath's neck with his other hand.

From the sands> Molleny waves to congratulate the Ruathan girl, who after all was the only candidate almost as short as Molleny is. "Good on you, Darsha," she calls out. Then, right beside her, Perchik...P'chik now...Impresses a green while she's not looking. "Ooh, wee!" she whoops when she notices.

From the sands> Sherazade stumbles. and falls on her rump in the sand, tears unashamed down her face, as impression is made. "Eilonth.." she sobs softly, wrapping her arms about the dragonet

Dzurath continues to eat, not caring how greedy he looks as he gulps down food.

You bespeak 7Dragonet with « You betcha, want to make sure you get enough, so you grow up proper and don't turn out all scrawny. »

From the sands> A small brown hatchling quickly finds his mate while his sibling makes his way with quiet determination. A quiet lad from Half Circle Sea Hold, pale of hair and dark of eye, Impresses a large blue hatchling.

From the sands> Eyes scanning the Candidates and hatchlings, Rilsa stands next to the entrance of the passageway with a pleased look and smile as the dragonets make fine choices. A flicker of concern crosses her features but passes as Sherazadi and Eilonth are fine.

Lystra reaches into her bowl and feeds Rhoulenth more meat.

From the sands> The Prairie Meadow Green Dragonet fights her way from the hard crust of her shell and then struggles a moment to right herself properly.

Dzurath> Will I become big and powerful?

From the sands> Xydren sadly gazes after the lucky ones headed off the sands...

From the sands>

Prairie Meadow Green Dragonet

This green of an astonishingly delicate looking configuration steps away from her egg to survey the candidates with jewel toned eyes. Shades of meadow grasses at the height of fragrant summer ripple over her hide from muzzle to tail tip as if coaxed by a warm breeze to display the vibrant hues of true green and subtle jade. Over her belly a scattering of small golden spots peek out like bright yellow flowers blooming in the midst of a prairie meadow lushness of green. In a fluid motion spring hued wingsails so delicate as to be nearly translucent are revealed and then hidden away again against sunshine dappled flanks. In striking contrast to the rest of her coloration the pinions of her wings as well as the arete along the middle of her back stand out in a shadowy midnight green. Easily the smallest of the clutch in size she moves with a gingerly fashioned sort of grace.

From the sands> Sherazade strokes the little eyeridges of the green and smiles, with a laugh. "Yes I know...you're hungry."

From the sands> Eilonth nudges her Sherazade once more, but then creels with... hunger? Is that what that is?

From the sands> Kandri gulps down a joyous sob, turning her attention dutifully back upon those still hatching. Taking a deep breath she steals herself, a smile of pure joy touching her lips.

Sherazade meanders out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Sherazade has arrived.

From the sands> Sherazade meanders down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Sherazade has left.

From the sands> Suddenly, the Sands erupt with 3 hatchlings that seem to cluster around a small group of sweating Candidates. A tall, thin young man from Crom Hold walks out of a flurry of beating wings and running feet with a green lifemate.

Eilonth moves out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

From the sands> Eilonth moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Eilonth has left.

From the sands> Halam gives Xydren an encouraging smile as he moves to tighten up the spaces left by impressions.

Sherazade guides the small ungainly green with tender care.

Lissabet greets Sherazade at the entry with a murmur of congratulations and a bowl of meat.

From the sands> With the exuberance of one eager to face the world the Prairie Meadow Green Dragonet kicks her shards aside and rushes forward to meet the candidates. Nearly falling over the tail of another dragonet rushing by she saves herself with a fluttering of gossamer wings.

From the sands> Xydren moves up beside Halam, and shrugs, a slight smile returning to his face.

From the sands> S'dar smiles as the green finds Sherazadi. Small tears of excitement form for the Candidates as they Impress their new lifemates until his eyes are welling up somewhat. Very aware that there are people watching from the Galleries and Stands, the boy pretends to cough a bit into his hands so that he can wipe the water from his eyes inconspicuously, without looking sissy.

From the sands> Kandri tenses as the green almost looses herself in a tumble, but ahhhs in appreciation of her quick wit as her wings keep her balanced. Sighing she squeezes Jennan's hand.

From the sands> With a triumphant smile, a Ruathan girl is startled out of her reverie when her blue eyes alight upon a brown hatchling. Her voice pronounces her lifemate's name with joy as her eyes fill with tears.

S'rist smiles happily, "Zadi! Congrats!" He looks away from his task of feeding Dzuarth just long enough to drop a chunk of meat onto his chest.

Dzurath> Ooooh!!

W'il continues to actively observe the new weyrlings, offering advice or reassurance as needed.

Lystra has disconnected.

From the sands> Jennan squeezes Kandri's hand in return, and shifts his weight to ease his burning feet.

From the sands> After narrowly dodging the scurrying claws of a passing blue hatchling, an Istan boy finds himself face to face with a green dragonet, his eyes lighting up as he calls out her name to the joy of his Craft.

You bespeak 7Dragonet with « Whoops, here let me get that one for you again. »

Sherazade looks up, posisitively beaming. "I can't believe it...I can't believe it!" she repeats, stroking Eilonth as she speaks..."She's so little!"

From the sands> Tobi keeps drifting back into the remaining candidates, seeking comfort in numbers. She finds herself next to Sturne again and a grin flickers, "Isn't it marvelous?"

From the sands> Molleny claps for Sherazadi and Lystra when she realizes that they're gone, and what this must mean. Instinctively she turns to comment to Perchik, surprise erupting over her face as she realizes that he's not there, that P'chik and his green lifemate are with the growing collection of her other friends, Impressed.

From the sands> The cry of a candidate attracts the attention of the Prairie Meadow Green Dragonet and with the same vigorous motions that drive all her actions she moves to see what could be happening. Once among the small throng the enchanting green pushes her muzzle towards first one and then another white robe, seeking the one she wants behind them.

Dzuroth> No... I itch!

From the sands> Within moments of her thigh being torn by the claws of a green hatchling, a tawny-headed youth from the Healer Hall finds herself eye to eye with her worried brown lifemate. The brightness of her smile showing that the joy that suffuses her being is greater than the pain.

S'rist drops the chunk of meat he had in his hand back into the bowl, "I think I'm going to need some oil now..."

From the sands> Alyeniara's movements are beginning to slow, and the constant side to side motion has an added component of up and down as she wipes beads of sweat from her brow at regular intervals. She watches, somehow seeming still, perhaps because her expression has lost most of its tension, though her eyes still flick from side to side, watching everything with care and determination.

From the sands> Kandri watches the green move about with careful eyes, ready to move and avoid those claws if need be.

You bespeak 7Dragonet with « We've got some good oil for that itch, helped make it myself just yesterday. »

Josira pauses in the act of feeding Yventh, mush to that one's distress. "Then it's a good thing we spent all that time making some yesterday, hmmm?"

W'il nods agreement with S'rist and retrieves a bucket of oil for him.

From the sands> Xydren shifts his weight from foot to foot excitedly, eyes darting in hope that he wouldn't miss anything...

From the sands> Arryn scoots hurriedly out of the way as the green hatchling thrusts past the group she found herself in, then turns as soon as she's out of range to see who the chosen one will be.

From the sands> Sturne moves a little closer to Tobi, shifting his feet until he's standing right beside her. He nods vigourously in answer to her question, his eyes still roving around the deminishing mound of eggs and the dragonets hatching and moving towards their lifemates. After a few moments, he says, "Yes, it sure is!", probably feeling the need to do more than just nod on such an occasion.

Sherazade winces. "Oh...she hurts....she's hungry." she looks for some meat and grabs some of the tray made for the ready. "Here Beloved."

Lissabet is right behind W'il with an oil-pot, but seeing herself outdone, she shrugs and offers it to a bluerider instead.

From the sands> Weaving across the sands in a row, two hatchlings quickly impress to the Candidates that stand, clutching their hands tightly together. The brown hatchling gazes adoringly at an older boy from Benden Hold while the green dragonet is embraced by the happy girl from Nabol.

S'rist smiles and moves away from the meat bowl so someone else can get to it, "Thankyou sir." He doesn't wait for instructions but sticks his hand in the oil and then takes it to Dzurath's hide.

From the sands> Molleny casts about to find another candidate to talk to, a receptive ear for her commentary, and finally spies Kandri. The small girl walks towards the tall one, emphasizing both their heights the closer she gets, and starts to tell the Nabolese storekeep how many of their fellows have Impressed, keeping one eye out for the infant dragons with their sharp claws.

You bespeak 7Dragonet with « Just where does it itch, just everywhere? »

From the sands> Prairie Meadow Green Dragonet finally pauses, head tilted as she considers a pair of lads. Restlessly her tail moves over the sands, as eager as the rest of her to find a lifemate to share all the adventures of the world with. Finally the restlessly motions of a candidate help her to hone in upon him. Moving to stand before the lad, the brightly hued green shakes her wings as if to punctuate her declaration of devotion.

From the sands> Xydren glances at Halam...

Eilonth sniffs the meat and then gobbles it hungrily from Zadi's hands. Zadi's eyes well again and she wraps her arms around the little green. "Oh I'm So glad...let me get you some more."

Dzurath nods his bronze head, « Everywhere! »

From the sands> Halam chuckles, looking from the green to Xydren.

From the sands> A young man from the WoodCraft stands somewhat away from the main group as the Candidates on either side of him Impress their hatchlings. As the voice only he can hear gives the brown's name, he straightens proudly with eyes brimming with unshed tears.

From the sands> Xydren blushes, chuckling.

From the sands> Jennan looks at Halam and Xydren, with a question in his eyes.

From the sands> The Prairie Meadow Green Dragonet stares deeply into Xydren's eyes.

From the sands> Rilsa steps out onto the Sands once again with a smile on her lips and unshed tears in her eyes. Her movements are deliberate when she offers her congratulations to X'dren and his green before helping them from the Sands.

From the sands> Xydren says "Oh... Oh definitely, Mauroth!"

S'rist chuckles and rubs the oil up and down Dzurath's side, while sticking his other hand into the oil and to Dzurath's side.

From the sands> Halam chuckles a bit more loudly, "I win. Or, well.."

W'il smiles to himself as he pays particular attention to a new greenrider's question. "You won't have to worry about that for sometime," he replies quietly.

From the sands> Inspired perhaps by the rest of the hatching dragonets the Heart of Opal Egg finally begins to break down into shards around it's occupant.

From the sands> Jennan applauds the dragon's choice of Xydren for a lifemate.

From the sands> X'dren looks as if he may faint, or bounce off the walls, but cant decide which to do first!

From the sands> The Hidden Oasis Brown Dragonet slowly emerges from the brittle shell that's housed him so well and looks about himself in a confused fashion.

From the sands> Arryn bounces up and down on her toes, clapping. "You see? You see I _told_ you, Xy!" she exclaims, then for some reason snaps around and stares at the stands. "Did they come?" she queries, apparently of the newly impressed lad, since she immediately turns back to him questioningly.

From the sands> X'dren says "Oh-all right, let's go find something, then..."

From the sands>

Hidden Oasis Brown Dragonet

At first glance, this dragonet seems to be more of a red color than a brown, though a brown dragonet he must be. His hide looks to be a few degrees away from catching afire, his muted sandstone coloring overlaid by sparkling pinpoints of carmine. The burnt red of his hide seems to meld seamlessly with a dark bleary green tint that seems to have been washed over his entire form. Although you can't make out any of this verdigris hue when you look directly at the young dragon, when you look away from him, or catch a glimpse of him in the corner of your eye, there you can see the sparkling emeralds that are somehow melded within his hide. A very peculiar color scheme for this youngest High Reaches brown! The dragon himself has a sturdy air about him; his limbs are taut and powerful looking and even his virgin wings have an almost chiseled appearance. Eyes set deeply within a seared brown head peer this way and that as they investigate the Sands surrounding him - these Sands being a setting in which he seems particularly well suited.

From the sands> Kandri manages a soft sob, a trail of tears shinning on her face mingled with sweat. "oh...oh my friends..." she says happily, watching Xydren for a long moment and then looking back to the sands, able to catch the new browns hatching.

From the sands> X'dren grins fit to crack his teeth as he guides his new lifepartner out of the Sands...

X'dren walks out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

X'dren has arrived.

From the sands> X'dren walks down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> X'dren has left.

From the sands> Sturne gives a congratulatory smile to X'dren as he passes behind, walking out of the cavern with his new lifemate.

From the sands> Molleny takes in a huge breath of air, a sudden light coming into her young eyes. In any other setting, and if she'd been staring like this at another child of her own age, one might suggest quite correctly that the love bug had bitten the tiny girl and given her a full-blown crush, but what does it mean when that same look is directed towards a dragonet?

From the sands> The hum of the dragons announces the entrance of another bronze to the Sands of High Reaches Weyr. The ledges resound with cheers as a young man from the Weyr Impresses the hatchling. His smile lights up the area and his eyes soften to watch his bronze walk next to him.

Sherazade turns as she feeds Eilonth. "Xydren!" she exclaims with a smile..." Or X'dren is it?"

Mauroth moves out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

From the sands> Mauroth moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Mauroth has left.

From the sands> Hidden Oasis Brown Dragonet stumbles backward. He's forced to greet the world on his rump or so it would seem. A strained little warble escapes as he rights himself and begins the journey like so many others before him. Careful strides make up for his earlier misstep.

X'dren looks stunned. "Um... I... Erg..."

Lissabet chuckles, proffering a bowl. "Here. Feed her."

From the sands> Arryn shrugs, grinning, as her question goes unanswered, and turns to see what's left on the sands. The brown draws a smile from her as he takes a tumble and makes a very dignified recovery.

W'il smiles easily at X'dren. "Congrats." He hands the weyrling a bowl of meat. "Feed her."

X'dren says "Oh! Yes! Feeding!"

Sherazade looks over to S'rist. "Was that my expression when I came in?"

From the sands> Kandri watches the brown with a smile and a soft eye. Shifting her feet she turns to Jennan and then Molleny. "This has been a most wonderful day..." she tells them both, before going back to dragonet watching.

Dzurath rumbles. « I will grow very large and need lots of oil, won't I? »

From the sands> Oraianda inches over to Jennan, putting on hand on his arm.

From the sands> Jennan says, "Yes, it has." to Kandri. Then he, too, goes back to dragonet watching. Specifically, brown dragonet watching.

Sherazade slowly strokes Eilonth around her eyeridges as the dragonet finally begins to eat a bit more slowly. "There now..Is that better?" she croons softly

From the sands> Sturne turns his head and looks up at his friend Tobi with his cheerful smile, his excitement not having had waned in the slightest. He takes her hand in his and gives it a small squeeze before going back to watching the impressions left and right. He spies the powerful brown just emerging and watches him move around the sand for a few moments as well, eyes full of awe and wonder.

X'dren gladly takes the bowl and goes to one knee before Mauroth, grinning like a fool as he offers piece after piece.

From the sands> Molleny's head bobs quickly in agreement with Kandri, though her widened eyes rest on the brown. "Look. Isn't he handsome?" she says, nearly swooning. "He's so bright an' colorful, and look, he didn't mind at all when he got tumped over."

S'rist grins and chuckles over at Sherazade, giving a little nod as he gets more oil for Dzuarth's hide.

From the sands> A brown hatchling slowly makes it way down the mound toward the group of Candidates clustered nervously together for support. The whirling eyes of the dragonet skim the group before alighting upon the pale complexion and dark hair of the Bitran girl who stands in the middle of the pack. Her expression turns to pure elation as she hears the brown give her his name.

From the sands> Tobi is so very un-brown, except for the freckles. She squeezes STurne's hand in answer and then lets go, lest she be left holding yet another candidate that impresses. But she grins, "They're amazing."

Josira looks around the room a bit. "Lissa, where did you put that bowl of oil?" There is a note of near panic in the girl's voice.

From the sands> Halam begins to look weary, unable to mop up all the sweat with his robe, hair sticking out at odd angles as he brushes it back from his face.

From the sands> Hidden Oasis Brown Dragonet extends his wings now slightly for balance. The glisten wetly as he walks forward. The early promise of a well muscled frame is evident. He seems bound and determined to find someone with just that strength. He approaches the deminishing knot of remaining Candidates.

From the sands> S'dar watches the proceedings with a somewhat wistful look. "It wasn't so long ago..." he tells Matheny beside him, though he's interrupted by a nearby Impression taking place. The green-tinted brown is next to win his attention as it starts toward a group of Candidates.

Lissabet says "Oil? Right here..." She quickly grabs another pot and hands it to the anxious girl. "Easy now, she's all right."

From the sands> Alyeniara pulls at a damp curl, tucking it carefully into her braid with a quick motion, then pulls it out again thoughtlessly as she moves her hand away too quickly when her attention is, unsurprisingly, distracted by the motions of a dragonet. Expression turning a bit annoyed, she tucks it in again, then moves to regain her place in a circle that has slowly shifted with hatchings and impressions.

From the sands> Kandri watches the brown and nods in agreement with Molleny. "yes he is..." she says, hand squeezing again and feet shifting.

X'dren says "You're gorgeous, Mauroth... If I fed you that fast, you'd upset your stomach, likely..."

From the sands> The Hidden Oasis Brown Dragonet stares deeply into Kandri's eyes.

From the sands> Most of the eggs lay in shards before the Sea's Silent Swell Egg finally decides it's time to crack open and reveal the treasure it has been holding safe.

From the sands> With downcast eyes, an older boy from Keroon stands humbly before the mound and holds the hands of a Telgar Hold lass and a Weaver boy. His head lifts slowly and his incredulous eyes focus upon the loving gaze of a bronze who gives him a creel of hunger. The sounds snaps the Keroon lad out of his stare and he embraces the dragon with happiness.

From the sands> Matheny nods her head in agreement with S'ar and then rubs the palm of her hand briefly over one eye, clearing it if moisture in a most childlike fashion. Her gaze then goes out to her cousin who's still shifting from foot to foot out amidst the hald circle of those still left.

Sherazade feeds tiny bits to Eilonth, watching her masticate the meat as if it is the most facinating sight ever known.

From the sands> Kandri gasps, letting go of hands and falling to her knees. "Oh! Chaedanth!"

Dzurath starts looking around, his stomach now _almost_ full. Almost being the key word... after a precursory glance about the area, he's soon rumbling at his new rider. « More food! »

From the sands> Rilsa extends her congratulations to Kandri and her new brown lifemate Chaedanth. She lifts a hand to push the hair from her face before extending it to show the entranceway.

From the sands> The Painted Desert Bronze Dragonet frees himself from his shell with much shaking of damp limbs and gets his first look at the candidates gathered.

From the sands>

Painted Desert Bronze Dragonet

From the sands> Molleny suddenly gives a hop as the heat once again invades the soles of her feet through her boots as she's forgotten to keep moving. This object lesson in the benefits of the 'candidate shuffle' keeps her busy...but not too busy to beam excitedly and step away as the handsome, self-possessed brown Impresses to the tall girl right beside her. "Ooh...I was hopin' he'd be yours. He's handsome, isn't he, Kandri? Kandri? Kandri..." But of course, why should Kandri be noticing such external babblings, when Chaedanth has just spoken to her? Now Molleny humphs, crossing her arms over herself as she complains to no one, "Now who'm I gonna talk to?"

From the sands> Kandri nods softly to her new lifemate. "Come...o" she says softly, smiling and standing to leave.

S'rist chuckles and wipes his hands off on his robe and slides back over to the meat bowl to get another chunk for Dzurath, "Here you go."

Kandri wanders out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Kandri has arrived.

From the sands> Kandri walks down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Kandri has left.

Chaedanth moves out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

From the sands> Chaedanth moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Chaedanth has left.

W'il smiles at Kandri. "Congrats." He hands over a bowl. "He's hungry."

Kandri has a gentle hand about her brown, eyes soft, face a pleasant, if quite suprised look. "yes...food...I know love." she says, eyes riveted to him.

From the sands> Sturne watches with glee as Kandri impresses the wonderful brown, moving off the sands to join the others. A sudden gasp rings out around the remaining candidates and from the stands as well as the bronze dragonet hatches with a sudden pop of shells. Sturne's head is immediately riveted to the gleaming bronze and he can't help but gasp in awe. "Didja see that Tobi?" he asks breathlessly.

From the sands> Tobi missed it, she was watching a pair of blues track down some other candidates on the far side of the eggs. "Wha? Where?" And she turns back just in time to see Kandri disappear. "Really? Oh how wonderful."

X'dren glances up, and does a double-take. "Hi, Kandri! Oh! A brown." He grins, a hand absently reaching out to stroke Mauroth's headknobs.

From the sands> S'dar cheers for Kandri, and is interrupted by another most ungraceful *honk!!!*, coming from Chezroth, so close to the back of his head that his hair stands on end and he stumbles into Matheny. After a sheepish grin he steadies himself and turns to see what the commotion is all about. "Great golden glow baskets," he exclaims to Jenryth's rider. "Yet another bronze!"

From the sands> Jennan echoes Sturne's gasp of amazement at the sheer power of the latest bronze.

As soon as she is away and able, Kandri drops down to gently hug her lifemate. "Oh Chaedanth" she says softly, reaching u to gentle rub at his eye ridges with pure affection

From the sands> Painted Desert Bronze Dragonet stumbles forward from his shards with a staggar, but then furling his soon to be massive wings, he rights himself. Tentatively those wings flap to get a feel for them, but it'll be a good long while before he actually flies. In the meantime, something catches his eye. With a purposeful stride, he sets off in the direction of a remaining cluster of candidates.

Sherazade smiles and offers a hug Kandri's way. "Oh Congratulations Kandri!" she beams.

From the sands> Arryn just sighs with a smile as Kandri leaves the sands with her new lifemate, looking tired now. She runs her hands through her hair, lifting it momentarily off her neck, taking advantage of the short lull while the bronze is the only dragonet actively running about and she need only stay out of the way.

From the sands> Sturne shakes his head at Tobi and tugs on her sleeve roughly. "No Tobi, the bronze!" he exclaims as the large dragonet heads away from his shards and onto the sands. "See?" he asks excitedly, still tugging on Tobi's robe.. only a little less intently.

From the sands> Painted Desert Bronze Dragonet knows exactly where he's going and ever motion of his determined waddle proves that. Wings still spread for balance, his feet leave imprints in the sand in a straight line trail to... Tobi. Looking up, he blinks. Waitaminute. This isn't right.

Sherazade looks down at Eilonth and kneels again beside her. "Oh don't fall now...what is it?" She looks apologetically at Kandri for stopping the offered hug, but it seems both lifemates need them more.

Josira spreads some oil on the already glistening hide of the queen, oblivious the the amount she is getting in her hair, and on her clothes.

From the sands> Tobi looks back, perhaps not quite as distressed at the little bronze, and all but shoves him towards ThatWhichIsRight /there/. Careful not to touch, she encourages him anyways. "Well g'wan then. You and me'd never get along."

Kandri has tears in her eyes, barely noticing the hug by Zadi as she hugs her lifemate again, gently. Turning to the others she smiles.

X'dren continues feeding Mauroth until the bowl's empty, then rubs her headknobs like one entranced...

From the sands> Painted Desert Bronze Dragonet cocks his wedge shaped head as he stares at the girl. He knew this was the right direction. How could he possibly have been wrong. Nudging the girl lightly, he suddenly catches something out of the corner of his jeweled eyes. There it is!

From the sands> Molleny's annoyance at having so many of her friends now gone where she can't fill their ears with commentary is dispelled as the bronze stalks right up to Tobi. "But...but he can't be, because she's a girl." Confusion muddles her speech; perhaps the little lump on her forehead is partly to blame, too. "I mean, he can if he wants, but it just isn't...You know?" she asks the nearest person.

From the sands> Sturne takes an involunatry step back as the bronze dragon stumbles towards his best friend. "Tobi, lookit!"

From the sands> Jennan backs away as well, wondering just what is going on.

Sherazade smoothes her hands over Eilonth's hide. "She says it feels funny.." she looks at the other riders. "Is she just full?"

From the sands> Tobi laughs and makes sure she -- /she/ -- is well out of the little bronze's way, though one hand trails along Sturne's shoulder. "Gotta grow up sometimes, Sturne."

From the sands> Painted Desert Bronze Dragonet knew he was in the right area. Taking a single waddle to the side, he lightly butts his head into Sturne's side. A triumphant warble turns into a bugle as he gives another flap of those wings and rises up to look the shy candidate in the eyes.

From the sands> The Painted Desert Bronze Dragonet stares deeply into Sturne's eyes.

Lissabet says "Probably... she's eaten near her own weight, or I'm sure it seems that way. Here, she'll want some oil."

X'dren blinks, and glances at Sherazade, then shrugs.

From the sands> Alyeniara blinks in disbelief as the bronze approaches Tobi, then grins and cheers in sudden congratulations as Sturne impresses.

Ceres has disconnected.

From the sands> Jennan hides his disappointment and congratulates Sturne on his Impression.

From the sands> Arryn puts a hand on her forehead as if it hurts, then looks up with a bright if tired grin as Sturne gets the bronze all straightened out. "Congrats!" she calls over at him.

From the sands> Sturne gasps in stunned disbelief as he is butted in the side and then gazes into those perfect, loving eyes. "Oh Jlorath!" he exclaims, throwing his arms around the bronze dragonets head.

From the sands> Rilsa smiles in S'turn and his bronze Jlorath's direction as an offer of congratulations to the young weyrling. She watches the exchange for a moment before offernig her help.

X'dren frowns a moment. "Your hide itches...?"

From the sands> On one of the ledges, Faerysa eyes the scatterings across the Sands. "Well. It seems to have bene a success."

From the sands> S'turn backs away from the diminished crowd of candidates and with his hand still laying lovingly on the great bronze head, moves off towards where the rest are.

From the sands> On one of the ledges, K'tyn shakes his head, muttering in an aside to A'lex, as he winks at Jehrina. "She's got a wicked left hook, lad. Be careful... And that dragonet's name -- It sounds _SO_ familiar..."

From the sands> On one of the ledges, "You've got t'be kidding me," Kassi drawls over to J'lyn. "Lyss might be better-behaved than a rabid wher, but... hey! Nay shoving, Lyss, unless you want a rider-pancake t'have t'be scraping off the sand t'take home."

From the sands> Molleny laughs. "Well, I hope he figures out the difference before he's grown," she says to Sturne, who probably isn't paying much attention to anything but Jlorath now. More quietly, she mumbles, "Now, if somebody'll tell it to -me-, then things will get easier."

S'rist grins and reaches his hand back into the oil pot, spreading more oil along one of Dzurath's wings, leaning his head against the bronze's oily neck as he does.

Jlorath moves out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

From the sands> Jlorath moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Jlorath has left.

S'turn meanders out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

S'turn has arrived.

From the sands> S'turn wanders down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> S'turn has left.

Rilsa strides out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Rilsa has arrived.

From the sands> Rilsa wanders down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Rilsa has left.

From the sands> On one of the ledges, Shannen sat here the whole time, was well-behaved, watched the Hatching, and is ready to go home, now. Unfolding herself almost mechanically, she pats Faemirth on the green's gently crooning neck. "Mmm, yup. Couple of 'em. You ready?"

From the sands> Tobi is so easily exchanged for a dragon, but nothing but pride and delight shines in the look for her friend and his friend, new friend. Then she turns her back ont he both of them and walks slowly towards the rest.

From the sands> On one of the ledges, Jehrina grins, rolling her eyes at K'tyn. "Aye, indeed."

W'il smiles at S'turn. "Congrats." He hands over a bowl of meat. "He's hungry."

From the sands> On one of the ledges, E'vrin moves to grab Sharath's straps. "No blood, no ichor," he chants back to the weyrwoman, then pulls himself up.

From the sands> On one of the ledges, A'lex shakes his head, "Nahhh, it's your imagination, K'tyn."

Kandri smiles softly at her brown. "Oh...yes, I'm fine love...let us get you fed...I'll be fine...I love you too." she says, turning to look where everyone else is getting food from and going to fetch it quickly.

X'dren waves to S'turn, smiling, but looks a bit confused, until his eyes alight on oil. "Hey-is there a free pot of oil handy?"

From the sands> Molleny has disconnected.

From the sands> As the activity dies down, the dust settles on the Sands and the last Impression is made, the new weyrlings busy themselves with the needs of their new Lifemates. Now in the hands of the Weyrlingmaster, they begin their new lives together, weylings and dragons, a Gold, 4 Bronzes, 7 Browns, 12 Blues, and 11 Greens. They begin learning to live and work together in their duty to the people of Pern.

From the sands> Jennan moves to stand next to Oraianda, hanging his head just a little in disappointment.

From the sands> Molleny has connected.

S'turn takes the large bowl of meat from W'il and is in the process of turning to feed some to his dragon when he gets butted in the rear. "Okay! Okay!" He laughs out loud and turns to feed some gibblets of meat to his dragon, trying to calm the hunger that he feels as well as sees.

From the sands> Laurelin's smile fades a little bit, as the weyrlings move off the sands, and the disappointed ones remain behind. She looks at Karitha, and takes a step forward to meet them.

From the sands> Sharen gathers with the other candidates, looking weary and disappointed at the same time.

From the sands> Karitha watches the last dragon hatch from it's shell, a huge grin still on her face. Then she turns and notes the Candidates remaining. The grin settles into something a little sadder and much more gentle. Moving forward, she gestures for those remaining to gather around her, "We're very sorry your lifemates weren't here today, but know that you're all welcome to stay here at the Weyr."

Rilsa makes her way down the passageway and enters onto the ledge with a weary step. Her bright eyes take in the assembled Assistant Weyrlingmasters and the working weyrlings and their charges. "Welcome to High Reaches Weyr, Weyrlings." says the Weyrlingmaster with a smile.

From the sands> Alyeniara looks around, almost comical surprise on her face as she realizes that it is over; everything is done. Then, the last of the tension melts from her posture, and she brushes at her robe, then turns to look at Laurelin and Karitha attentively.

From the sands> Arryn's brows rise in faint surprise as she realizes S'turn's bronze was the very last hatchling off the sands. For just a moment, her shoulders slump slightly, and she looks faintly forlorn. The appearance lasts a bare instant, however, before she takes a deep breath, puts on a tired smile and says, "Phew. Well, so much for that, and time enough to get back on with life."

From the sands> Maybe some are disappointed, but not Molleny. Her face glows like a proddy firelizard about to rise as she realizes all over again, "I was -so close- to it all. Wait till everybody hears how close I was. Wasn't it something?" she demands of the nearest candidate. "Wasn't it the most exciting thing ever?"

From the sands> Karitha's smile warms as she looks at each disappointed, sweaty face, "All of you were Searched for a -reason-. Your lifemate may not have been here today, but the chances are that you will find your lifemate when the time is right."

From the sands> Laurelin nods along with Karitha's words, her eyes flicking from face to face, a tentative smile there. "We do hope that you'll consider staying at the Reaches. You were a fine group of candidates and we would love to have you all here."

From the sands> S'dar purses his lips, giving the remaining Candidates on the Sands a sympathetic look. Molleny's bubbliness gets a bit of a grin, and he looks up at Chezroth, and then up to the Ledges.

X'dren grins, and sits on the ground beside Mauroth, still stroking her headknobs, murmuring, "I'll see to it, hold on..." He glances up at Rilsa.

Kandri looks up from her feeding to Rilsa, smiling softly.

Lissabet moves among the new weyrlings, offering oil and quiet encouragement.

Sherazade dips her hands into the oil just as S'turn enters. "Well I'll Be a Lord Holder!!!

You watch with a small affectionate smile as Dzurath wanders away.

Mauroth has left.

X'dren watches with a small, affectionate smile as Mauroth wanders away.

Yventh has left.

Josira watches with a small, affectionate smile as Yventh wanders away.

Josira turns her head and smiles when Yventh wanders near.

Kandri smiles softly down at Chaedanth, stroking him softly as he eats. Eyes are full of love as she nods to something, a faraway look in her eyes.

From the sands> S'dar wanders over toward Laurelin, Karitha and Matheny, keeping silent. Behind him, Chezroth examines the shards scattered upon the Sands, prodding some of them with his snout, which is soon smudged with egg goo. He doesn't care - he's one happy sire.

From the sands> Halam sketches the same bow as that he arrived with, "Thank you ma'am, sir."

Eilonth has left.

Sherazade watches with a small, affectionate smile as Eilonth wanders away.

Jlorath has left.

S'turn watches with a small, affectionate smile as Jlorath wanders away.

Sherazade turns her head and smiles when Eilonth wanders near.

X'dren turns his head and smiles when Mauroth wanders near.

S'turn turns his head and smiles when Jlorath wanders near.

From the sands> Matheny moves in with the others and gives a supportive smile to candidates and Weyrleaders alike.

Yveth sits down with a thump.

From the sands> Karitha's smile offers gentle encouragement as she raises a hand towards the archway out, "There's enough wine, juice, klah and food in the Living Cavern for everyone. Please... join us." Looking up towards the galleries and the ledges, she raises her voice (former weyrlings may recall this voice), "AND THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE! All our guests are welcome to join us for the celebration!"

Rilsa pauses momentarily to lift a blanket higher on the ex-Harper weyrling who has fallen asleep next to his green. A soft smile is quickly removed as she makes her way to the center of the room. "We, at the Weyr, would like to extend our congratulations to you and your dragonets as you begin an exciting moment of your life."

Mauroth is now listening.

W'il watches the werylings, evaluating, as Rilsa speaks.

From the sands> Tobi laughs, a shadow of her usual noise, and moves off with the rest.

Dzurath starts to doze off, but he's too excited about what's going on about him to let himself do so.

Mauroth burps softly, leaning into X'dren's caresses.

From the sands> Molleny is still hopping a little, like jumping rope without the rope, to keep her feet cool. But when Matheny comes back within her line of sight, Molleny rushes her famous cousin and wraps her arms tightly around Matheny's waist. "Mathie, this is the best thing I ever did!" she enthuses.

Halam moves out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Halam has arrived.

From the sands> Halam moves down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Halam has left.

Oraianda meanders out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Oraianda has arrived.

From the sands> Oraianda walks down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Oraianda has left.

Halam moves down the stairs towards the bowl.

Halam has left.

Oraianda wanders down the stairs towards the bowl.

Oraianda has left.

Sharen walks out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Sharen has arrived.

From the sands> Sharen strides down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Sharen has left.

Jennan meanders out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Jennan has arrived.

From the sands> Jennan strolls down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Jennan has left.

From the sands> Arryn fluffs Molleny's curls in much the way she does her own little sister's, grinning at the younger girl, as she hurries past, then shrugs philosophically. "Might as well go enjoy myself, Sophia'll have a list long as my arm for me in the morning," she says. Obviously she's one ex-candidate with no doubts about what the future holds now.

Jennan strolls down the stairs towards the bowl.

Jennan has left.

Noel has left.

Sharen provides a shoulder perch for Noel.

S'rist smiles, quite possibly the messiest he's ever been in his life, and the happiest.

Kandri gently strokes her lifemate's hide, watching him eat and nodding happily. "Quite the appetite my love...it will make your so strong!" she murmurs, leaning down to nuzzle him herself.

Rain has left.

Sharen collects Rain with a quick whistle.

From the sands> Matheny hugs Molleny tight with a look of relief that the girl isn't dissappointed, "You did us all proud, Moll!"

Sharen walks down the stairs towards the bowl.

Sharen has left.

"As you both grow." Rilsa continues, turning slowly so she can try to see all the people, "We will be here for you to learn from. But right now ..." she chuckles as a young bronze impatiently nudge his new lifemate, "Feed and oil them before they get too impatient."

X'dren jumps to his feet, looking about for the oil...

Sherazade oils As Rilsa speaks, Eilonth's soft rumbles letting her know she is doing it right more than anything.

S'rist grins over towards Rilsa, "Ma'am, I think Dzurath is starting to get tired."

From the sands> Molleny doesn't protest the fluffing just this once, as excitement spills out of her like the spume of a fountain. "I didn't do it like you did it," she tells her cousin, "but I did it. Wait till Ma an' Pa hear about how much fun I had, and how many adventures. Don't tell them I went wher-rope leaping though, all right, Math? Because then they wouldn't let me come back to visit."

From the sands> Alyeniara lets out a long sigh, then turns around completely once to take in the entire cavern, then begins moving across the sands and out, pausing once and bending down, coming up with a handful of sand, which she immediately begins trickling from one hand to the other, her steps quickening.

S'turn follows those instructions to the letter, not that he could ignore them anyway. With Jlorath's hunger just beginning to fade, he seems to find something else to mention and S'turn, with a laugh, grabs up one of the nearby oilpots and begins to oil the offending patch, his eyes getting that faraway look as he confers with his lifemate over where exactly the patch is.

Alyeniara walks out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Alyeniara has arrived.

From the sands> Alyeniara walks down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Alyeniara has left.

Alyeniara walks down the stairs towards the bowl.

Alyeniara has left.

Rilsa chuckles, "He's had a long day, S'rist.

X'dren snatches an oil pot, and lasvishes his green with the contents.

Kandri sighs oh so happily, feeding her love and stroking him lovingly. "Yes...I'm sure it is my heart..." she says, chuckling.

X'dren says "Ohhhh, yes. Isn't that better! Sorry I couldn't find it, Mauroth!"

Chaedanth has left.

Kandri watches with a small, affectionate smile as Chaedanth wanders away.

Kandri turns her head and smiles when Chaedanth wanders near.

S'rist grins, "So he says..."

"Not bad, eh?" Rilsa murmurs to the AWLMs as she comes to stand next to W'il, Lissabet, and Ceres.

Sherazade grins at S'turn. "Somehow I knew you would find a Bronze..or be found by one." she laughs, rubbing in the oil lavishly on Eilonth

From the sands> Laurelin smiles at the former candidates, and follows them out, off the sands and into the passageway. She looks back once before she exits, and gives the two dragons there a proud smile. "You did wonderfully," she says to them, quietly. Then she steps off the hot sands with a grateful sigh.

Mauroth croons happily, arching her back against a soothing oily hand.

W'il nods agreement with Rilsa's remark.

Arryn strides out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Arryn has arrived.

From the sands> Arryn strolls down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Arryn has left.

From the sands> Matheny runs her fingers lightly over hte girl's head, "You've got a bump Molleny. you didn't give yourself a concussion did you?" she tsks fondly, "Well, at least you're all in one piece and none the worse for wear." she grins, "Now we can tell hatching stories at family gatherings."

From the sands> Karitha takes a deep breath and follows Laurelin, stopping to pick up a particualrly pretty piece of shard.

Karitha walks out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Karitha has arrived.

From the sands> Karitha wanders down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Karitha has left.

Kandri turns to watch the others oil their dragons as her own continues to feast. Turning back she nods to him, continuing to smile. "When your done, then we'll oil you as well." she says, running a hand down his neck in a loving carress.

Lissabet nods to Rilsa, and greets Karitha with a crisp salute, pointedly setting an example. "'Evening, Weyrleader."

Arryn waves and calls congrats as she passes by on her way down to the bowl, although it's doubtful many of the new weyrlings are listening to anything but their dragons. Oh, and _maybe_ an AWLM or something.

Karitha meanders down the stairs towards the bowl.

Karitha has left.

Laurelin meanders out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Laurelin has arrived.

From the sands> Laurelin wanders down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Laurelin has left.

From the sands> Chezroth shakes his head to get a piece of shell that's stuck to his nose off, but it's stuck fast with the goo. Here is the sire of this Clutch. Fortunately, most of the 'Reachians have left already and miss the sight.

Arryn strolls down the stairs towards the bowl.

Arryn has left.

Tobi strides out of the passageway to the hatching grounds.

Tobi has arrived.

From the sands> Tobi strides down the passageway to the Queen's Weyr.

From the sands> Tobi has left.

From the sands> Molleny's head bobs. "I got a con...concussuss...Cussincuss...I bumped my head but the Healer said I didn't mess up anything that wasn't already wrong." She quiets down a little. "She said I probably started out wrong, to be doing what I was doing, and that if the dragon who Searched me didn't mind, probably a dragonet wouldn't know the difference either."

S'turn pauses in rubbing on the oil to look at Sherazade with a wide smile. "It was a complete suprise to me." he says happily, turning back to continue the oiling at a nudge from Jlorath. Still, he goes on while oiling, his voice soft with love for his lifemate, "I didn't think you were heading for me Jlorath... honest I didn't."

Tobi strolls down the stairs towards the bowl.

Tobi has left.

Rilsa flashes a smile at Sr. WeyrWoman, giving her a relieved look. She mutters to Laurelin, "We made..."

W'il nods politely at Laurelin.

Kandri nods happily. "Yes...close...always!" she says, leaning downt o gently hug him again and strokehis soft hide.

Josira diligently rubs at a spot as the gold leans into her touch, head drooping towards the floor.

Laurelin smiles, a little tiredly, and steps past the distracted new weyrlings with a look that could only be read as proud and happy. She nods to the weyrlingmasters, and her smile increases into a grin at Rilsa. Giving a quick salute, she steps out of the room quickly.

Laurelin strolls into the weyr.

Laurelin has left.

From the sands> Matheny grins and starts to guide the girl from the sands but then stops, "Say. Now would be the ideal time to get a souvenir if you want, Moll." with a hand gesture she indicates the scattered shards of various hues.

Eilonth begins to doze, laying her head in Zadi's lap. Zadi looks up as Laurelin enters and departs, giving her a quiet smile.

X'dren chuckles, and rubs Mauroth's headknobs with an oily hand. "I still find you hard to believe... Well, yes, it's good you're here to prove it to me!"

From the sands> Molleny glances to where Matheny points, and her eyes light up. Can't you just see them turning, for an instant, into marks, bulging out of her head and then going back inside to normal? She wastes no time collecting shard after colorful shard from the hatching grounds, some of them still wet with hatching goo.

S'rist leans against one of the meat bowls as Dzurath puts his head in his lap, both looking barely awake.

Rilsa decides to make some rounds to get to know the pairs a bit before the training commences. She heads to S'rist, smiling, "Everything under control?" She extends her smile to the bronze Dzurath.

Mauroth nudges X'dren's thigh with her head.

S'rist looks up to Rilsa, "Yes ma'am, everything's just right." The young bronze chimes in with a sleepy little warble.

From the sands> S'dar stands with the group, looking quiet, having not much to say. "That was quite something," he manages to get out after cleaing his throat of a lump. "A real experience. I feel sort of dizzy," he adds with a small grin.

X'dren chuckles. "All right, all right..."

From the sands> Molleny glances up owlishly at S'dar, arms and hands full of bits of shell. "So do I."

Kandri nods proudly as Chaedanth finishes his large meal, turning to get one of the oil pots and begin the familiar task of oiling...only on a much large subject. "There...that feels better doesn't it love." she says softly, rubbing gently, yet with a certain fervor to match her lifemate's whirling eyes.
