| Morowen says "For those that don't know me, My name is Morowen, and I joined High Reaches about 9 days ago, and I'm pleased to make aquaintances with you all" S'rist looks towards L'vor and gives a wave in greeting, "Reach's greetings to you L'vor. I'm afraid you might be waiting a bit on that round. I'm pretty sure that M'rek is on duties for the evening. I'd have to check the duty roster to make sure though." He doesn't seem to be running off to do that though, the information about all he's going to share. Cayetath has arrived. Eilidh climbs down from Cayetath's neck. Eilidh has arrived. Matheny shakes her head a little bit, clearly disappointed about something, and then takes another noticeably deep breath before she drags herself away from the endless fussing over dragonhide. Before she can speak, she sneezes, right into the oily rag. A smear of shiny oil stays on the weyrwoman's nose and she makes a reply, "I'm not sure, I think I saw her earlier..but then maybe that was you. It's hard to be sure." There's another sneeze and then Math gives L'vor an alarmed sort of look, "High Reaches duties to Ista. He's certainly not here right now." spoken in a 'he better not be around right now' kind of way. "But I think you can find him in the nearest tavern, young man." L'vor laughs a bit, "He would find a way to be on duty in a tavern at the same time. That's my pal M'rek alright. No, I think I'll leave him to that duty and just avail myself to Reach's hospitality, if no one has an objection?" Overhead, the wide wings of a Telgarian brown appear from between, spiraling down towards the eastern bowl. The blonde woman atop flinches at the dizzying descent, her grip tightening noticeably. "/Cay/!" she scolds once they're land-bound. The name is enough, it would seem, as the brown let's off a chortle-like noise, but other than that disregards his rider's dismay. Quickly, she dismounts, careful with the package that's in one hand, and shading her eyes to try and spy out a ledge along the craggy walls. "Wonder where D'mon's ledge is," is murmured aloud, a speculative look sliding towards the gathered people and a cheery salute is offered with that free hand, "Howdy! Telgar's duties!" The better half is coming Sari's way. Suraiya lifts her attention away from her snacks, glancing at the crowding bowl before her eyes rest on the queen... and her rider. Ah, yes, respects. "G'day, Weyrwoman, Weyrleader," and there's a salute to them both with a cookie-full hand. Once that's over with-- the others are given just a small nod or grin their way-- Suri trots the rest of the way to her twin. "Been 'ere long, Sari? Cookie?" She holds out the bag, as if that could make up for anything. S'rist considers the Istan brownrider for a long moment, almost like he's considering answering that question... but then he puts on a meager grin, "Well, certainly, you'll have to come join us for dinner then L'vor." He returns the salute headed his way, then calls out to the new brownrider arriving, "High Reach's greetings to you." Sarisia turns to give the arriving rides a nod. "'Reaches greetings." Smirk in place as she greets them both, turning back to the weyrwomen as she gives off another sneeze. "Is that so? Shame we look so similar, perhaps we should start wearing clothes with our names on it..." As soon as her sister catches her eye though she frowns. "Long enough." And here she shoves the package towards Suraiya. "Here, Ma sent them for ya." Matheny glances around at various people in the bowl and flashes a nervous smile before sneezing into the crook of her elbow. "Oh tunnelsnakes. I did think the last time was the last time. This is an interval, if you haven't heard." She cuts her eyes to the gold who seems like *she* couldn't be less interested in anything said, and other than to yawn hugely and flick the glowy tail of her tip, the gold doesn't move. L'vor gives a wide grin at the invitation to dinner. "Alright, I will join you all for dinner then. I hope you're having something good." He goes over to give Nezzerth a pat on the foreleg and step around to loosen up his riding straps and haul them off so the brown can relax for an extended visit. Suraiya's face goes through several different obvious changes: sheer joy, and... well, just one change. "/At last!/" She squeals at the box, snatching onto it like a lifeline. "She didn't send any recipes as well, did she?" But she's already sorting through the box and the pastries, her grin growing ever broader. Even though the sweets are tempting, Suri's attention is straying.. quickly. Her eyes turn away from the open box to Matheny and her glowing counterpart. "Ya wanna keep any of these for later, Sari?" She holds the box out, but keeps her eyes focused on the gathering riders. It might be about time to make her way elsewhere to eat sweets. While Eilidh greets people, her wide-set smile finding each face nearby, the walnut stained hide of her lifemate ripples, energy drawn from instinct that one flicker of triple eyelids to Jenryth offers him. In conjunction with Matheny's words of intervals and last times, Cayetath's rangy limbs gather, sending him upward with languid strokes of his wings to wind, and then down into the corrals, making short work of one beast with a land that snaps his neck. In the sunrays that remain, the lightened points of his neckridges glisten from a recent oiling, patchy in spots that attest to his rider's lack of meticulous care, or the remnant effects of his abrupt spiral down. In any case, he lurks after his first kill, the thud of his pacing causing many of the penned beasts to scatter away. "/Cay/!" Two stomps, and large eyes, apologetic, veer towards the native Reachians. Cayetath flies east across the bowl, over the fence and into the feeding grounds. Cayetath has left. In the feeding grounds, Most of the animals are somnolescent with midday drowsiness, dozing on their feet, or peacefully chewing cud. Nezzerth gives a rumble at the pat from his rider, then his head pivots over towards Jenryth, watching her for a long moment before he too shifts and lumbers into the air, gliding the short distance over to the feeding pens as well. L'vor just stands there and stares after his lifemate for a long moment. "Oh shells, guess I'm staying longer than dinner, and I bet without getting to eat first." Nezzerth flies east across the bowl, over the fence and into the feeding grounds. Nezzerth has left. In the feeding grounds, A brave young wherry refuses to budge, hovering protectively over her nest to keep it from being trampled. A few paces behind his rider Tiqueth continues to examine the gold, tail swishing in a sharper way now. At the entrance of the other dragons he lifts his head higher, seemingly unpleased. "Ya know I don't like sweets, Sur." Sarisia provides from her spot as she waves the box off. As soon as Cayetath takes to wing though Tiqueth lifts off, headed towards the pens. Circling about he begins to debate which herdbeast is befitting of his claws. In one fell swoop he attacks his chosen prey, claws going to work as he begins the ever pretty process of blooding, yum. "Queth!" Sari calls out, but the brown simply contiunes in his task. "Aw shards, not /now/." Sari moans as she watches her lifemate, not happy at all. S'rist looks at the visiting brown dragons all heading over towards the feeding grounds. Then he narrows his eyes for a moment and just strides over to Dzurath, leaning in and patting the curled up bronze on a leg. Whatever he's telling his lifemate finally gets the large dragon to open his eyes and with a rather unhappy rumble start walking towards the feeding grounds in a slow trundle. Matheny sneezes so hard she seems momentarily dazed. She takes a step foward, one to the side and then shakes her head a little bit as if to clear it. She returns Eilidh's wave, but in an absent kind of manner, which is understandable given the rapt attention Jenryth is now giving the feeding grounds. Then she turns towards Suraiya and Sarisia and suddenly asks, "Cookies? Did I see cookies?" In the feeding grounds, Nezzerth is quite efficient in his selection, finding one herdbeast that looks healthy but without sharp horns. His powerful jaws snap into the pen and pull it out, lifting it up high enough so that crimson runs down into his throat in a warm flood. "Sure ya don't..." Suraiya doesn't believe her sister one bit. "Anyways, it's /Ma's/ bubblies. Can't hurt ya. 'Specially now." Her blue eyes travel towards the dragons at the feeding pens. Ah, how lovely. "It'll keep ya company while Tiq is gone." She grins ever so slowly. Her head jerks at the word cookie, even though it's a question, and she offers that broad grin to the goldrider. "Ya definitely did! Some of my own stash." She holds out the bag in one hand. "But I recommend these from Ista, if ya want any." With the other hand, she holds out the package of bubblies. Eilidh must understand the absent manner in which Matheny returns her greetings, for she's as distracted by Jenryth's hide as her lifemate is from the pens. Her hand reaches up again, involuntarily shading her eyes once more until the mention of cookies slants her gaze swiftly to where the two look-alikes are. For a moment, befuddled by the mirror images offered, the blonde reaches down to tug on her braids. "S'like having blurry vision after drinkin' too much but without the blur part. Cookies?" Hopefully, she fixates on the twin riders. Dzurath flies east across the bowl, over the fence and into the feeding grounds. Dzurath has left. In the feeding grounds, The wherries and herdbeasts scatter in panic as Dzurath's shadow falls over them. Sarisia turns back to her sister now, grabbing up a sweet without second thought. "Ya wouldn't happen to have some wine on ya?" She asks as she downs the food, frowing as she chews. "Not bad." She mutters as she finishes off the sweet, eyes on Matheny now. "Uh, yah," Signaling the sack she nods. "Ya should try one, they're pretty good." Off in the pens Tiqueth continues his handy work, his maw completly covered in blood as he begins to eye another herdbeast. In the feeding grounds, While his rider is distracted by cookies, Cayetath continues to stalk, almost feline-like, along the perimeter of the pens, a slink to his long'n rangy form. Before him, ovines bleet, hurrying to get away from the looming shadow until one bumps into the crowd and falls to the ground in a woolen puddle. At that moment, out snakes a slender limb, touched with the pale cherry stains prevalent on his belly, to add the darker touch of beast blood to his hide shading with that lazy swipe that fells the ovine. His neck lowers, sweeping in a half circle to clear the area of other would-be suitors and animals, before he drinks daintily. Dark eyes, amethyst already enroaching on the deceptively pleasant sapphire, fixate on Jenryth beyond the fence. Tiqueth flies east across the bowl, over the fence and into the feeding grounds. Tiqueth has left. In the feeding grounds, A lone herdbeast too scared to move bleets plaintively at Tiqueth. In the feeding grounds, Dzurath eyes the herdbeasts for a long moment, then turns his head slowly to the side and makes a rather rude belching noise. Obviously this bronze has eaten something recently that's just not agreeing with him at all. Matheny shakes herself again, this time wriggling her arms as well as her head, as if someone dumped a handful of vtols down her back. The sneezing has stopped and in it's wake, Math seems just as chaotic as always, but on top of that is a definite lack of calm and a touch of hyperactivity. "I love cookies. If you don't mind, I would like to have one or two." She hops over to the bag and reaches in to help herself while she confirms Eilidh's question. "Cookies. Which is so much better than being a dolt of a bronze and stuffing yourself silly with too much herdbeast when you KNOW that some people are very shiny, and very sneezy, and everyone else is just.." She cuts her eyes around, "So sharding young. Not that that's a bad thing, but seems like people are just younger and younger all the time. Rider people, I mean. Yes. Uh-huh." In the feeding grounds, Nezzerth tosses aside the drained husk of a herdbeast, just a little flip of his muzzle that sends it onto a pile of hay. With whirling eyes he sizes up the other dragons that are drifting into the feeding grounds before he moves to take a second herdbeast into his jaws. There is a bit more of a crunch to this one, and at least one squeal from the beast before a little shake of the brown neck ends it. S'rist looks over at Matheny and listens to her ramble about doltish bronzes, and just grimaces some more, then mutters something like, "If I ever found out who... It'll be clobberin' time." Then he pulls out his riding gloves and pulls them on, adjusting the fingers and making fists with them. Suraiya can't help but giggle at the sudden interest in cookies. At least from some of the gathered riders. Their interests should lie elsewhere. "Sorry, sis. No wine.. I don' carry a flask with me like I do with my cookies." And thankfully, that seems to be the main choice right now. "Cookies," she nods back towards the visiting brownrider. "An' I'll probably have to bake more in my spare time after today..." She pulls her personal box back to her and places the pouch of cookies into her twin's hand. Being a mirror image, no one will notice the difference. "Take as many as ya like," she tells goldrider and brownriders alike. "I should get back to Ozzy an' see if she wants some attention. Or something." There's one last sympathetic look to her twin before the young girl turns on her heel and trots away. As Tiqueth makes his way towards his chosen herdbeast he pauses at the sound of the bleets. Turning his sinister gaze towards the animal he remains still, examining it. Without a moments notice the brown lunges towards the single beast, tearing into it without hestitation. When the creature is motionless he begins to take in the crimson drink, throughly taken in by the task. Suraiya has disconnected. In the feeding grounds, Dzurath moves over to one of the pens and cranes his neck over. He sniffs at the herdbeast for a moment then his eyes whirl decidedly unhappy. He pulls his head back and stretches out a bit, opening his wings up and stretching them, his color looking flat and a bit grey around the muzzle right now. Matheny shuts herself up by chewing on a cookie, big bites that put crumbles at the corners of her mouth..not that she'd notice. There's a pleading sort of look over at S'rist and then Math shrugs and mumbles between bites, "Don't know..munch..who would double dare..chewmunch..a bronze anyway. It's ridiculus." Then she's chewing again. Jenryth rumbles, drowning out the sound of her lifemate's noisy-talking with her mouth full. The gold is now has the looks of very polished, very dark oak, bits of metallic glittering now and again as she rises up and nimbly leaps into the feeding pens. Jenryth flies east across the bowl, over the fence and into the feeding grounds. Jenryth has left. In the feeding grounds, A brave young wherry refuses to budge, hovering protectively over her nest to keep it from being trampled. "Ma says you're only as old as y'think you are. I like to think I'm thirty," Eilidh informs Matheny with naive solemnity, and by default everyone else. "Cause when you're thirty no one thinks you're too young to do *anything*." Blue eyes stray to where Cayetath is, briefly locking eyes with the blooding brown. It's Cay who looks away first, a quick snap of his neck sending the drained carcass into the fence with a sudden force that belies his lanky frame. "I think...," her lips fidget, wobbling indecisively as she turns to Jenryth again. Resigned to her fate for the moment, she reaches out to try and pick out five cookies, "If I can't have dinner in time, might as well have cookies. Might've only eaten cookies anyway at Telgar anyway. You two look alike." Small talk, nervous chatter, chewing of cookies, and all that, of which the last is directed at Sarisia and to Suraiya's back. L'vor makes his way over towards the small crowd of gold and brown riders, "Do I hear there are cookies being shared about over here?" He puts on a grin full of teeth as he walks up in amongst the women. In the feeding grounds, Jenryth stomps on the brave young wherry protecting her nest. Stomps it with purpose and noses the wherry herself around until the gold can take what she needs to feed her coming flight. After the wherry mother is drained, the largest of the chicks is taken as well. The oaken gold drinks and glowers at the gathering of males in defiance, her reddened eyes touched with purple. Sarisia stares after her sister as she runs off. "Traitor." She lets out heavily as she glances down at the sweets that are now in her possesion. She simply stands still as those around her enjoy the treats. As Eilidh grabs a few up a few she feels much like a table. "Uh, that's cause we're sisters, well twins to be exact." The red head gives off a sigh as L'vor makes his way towards her. "Take 'em all if ya like, I don't really care for sweets." Harley gives herself a shake and looks around, remaining quiet. She edges more towards the back of the group so she can watch everyone and everything better. In the feeding grounds, Nezzerth tosses away the second carcass and focus his attention now on the wherry stomping gold, his tail lashing with unbridled eagerness. He gives a low croon, more a sound that focuses him on the glowing object of his desire now. In the feeding grounds, Dzurath watches Jenryth intently, his eyes whirling faster and taking on just a hint of the lusty hue that is brighter in all the others there. His tail curls at his side, only the very tip moving in a slow little circle now. All his stomach ailments for the moment are pushed back from the forefront of his thoughts. Matheny says "Oh yes, thirty is a good age." Math breathes and glances over at the feeding grounds, mentally playing some tug of war even as she speaks, a cookie clutched in her hand and forgotten for the moment. "It's just that it's been a very long time for Jenryth and I, or it feels.." she doesn't finish, but instead grinds her teeth a little bit just as the glowing gold bugles some sort of displeasure. L'vor's toothy grin is given a sort of dazed return and then takes another cookie, this time from Sarisia, though it's doubtful Math knows the difference right now." Corineth lumbers over from the western side of the bowl. Corineth has arrived. In the feeding grounds, Generally not much of a blooder, Cayetath is transfixed by the arrival of polished oak to complement his walnut and cherry-stained hide. With each of Jenryth's movements, comes a hardened intensity in the quickened pace of his eyes, and as he makes himself more presentable, a clean sweep, almost human like in its movements, of his forelimb to the sides of his mouth, he begans to pace again, slower now as the prey he'll soon stalk through air has arrived. Gold filigreed talons of slate stake out his stride in the ground, upturned soil left in his wake, and to a nearby bronze, a low and guttural mocking begins - it'd be sardonic laughter if he were human. Corineth flies east across the bowl, over the fence and into the feeding grounds. Corineth has left. In the feeding grounds, Most of the animals are somnolescent with midday drowsiness, dozing on their feet, or peacefully chewing cud. In the feeding grounds, Corineth's claw reaches out to snag a passing herdbeast as he lands in the grounds. With a rumble toward the glowing queen, he lowers his head to capture the throat of the beast in his maw. In the feeding grounds, Tiqueth finally ceases his work on his second kill. He lifts up his head at the approaching gold, watching her destroy the wherry. A flick of his tail showing his appreciation of her ways. Through the corner of his eye he catches sight of a large wherry, desposing of it much in the same fashion as the others. This time though he removes the head, tossing it off towards another brown. Refreshingly innocent, or blindingly stupid, dependant on how charitable one is, Eilidh returns the full mouth L'vor presents with an equally wide grin, betrayed as nervous only by the constant fidget of her feet. "Cookies. I... well," she eyes the handful she has, one halfway to being lodged in her mouth where it's paused before extending to the Istan brownrider. "Want one?" There's nothing like being nice to the competitors, even if a grimace hovers along the corners of that naive smile. Displeasure is being shared by her lifemate, if that rumble from the grounds has anything to do with her. "Or not." S'rist walks over towards the gathered huddle of riders around Matheny, "I can't believe he did it... shards... that old herdbeast wasn't fit for anyone to eat." L'vor reaches out for a moment towards the proffered cookies, and then he takes one of the cookies, "Thanks, I was hoping to get some dinner shortly, but with Nezzerth off causing trouble I probably won't get a decent meal tonight. Might as well have cookies if I can then, right?" He flashes that grin at Eilidh for a moment, then it turns more into clenched teeth as he feels the tension rolling off his brown. In the feeding grounds, Jenryth finishes drinking from one of the younger herdbeasts, and then seems to linger over the beast, eyeing the males coyly. She's not had nearly as much to drink as for past flights, but perhaps for one reason or another she doesn't need so much fuel this time. Her claws sink into the dun colored hide she's crouched over, as if she's going to start rending flesh..and then she takes off. The beast is brought along for the start of the journey, and then discarded to rain down upon any dragon unlucky enough to be directly below. In the feeding grounds, Jenryth springs powerfully into the sky. In the feeding grounds, Corineth launches into the sky. In the feeding grounds, Nezzerth leaps into the sky. In the feeding grounds, Cayetath leaps into the sky. In the feeding grounds, Dzurath leaps into the sky. In the feeding grounds, Tiqueth springs powerfully into the sky. Matheny sighs at S'rist, and then has a very dizzy moment as her dragon takes off. "Well then, I suppose it's the guest weyr." And without saying anything else she takes her cookies and heads west. In the sky directly above, Jenryth rises up in the bowl sky. Matheny strides towards the western side of the bowl. Matheny has left. In the sky directly above, Tiqueth rises higher in the bowl sky. In the sky directly above, Corineth wings upward in the bowl sky. In the sky directly above, Cayetath flies higher in the bowl sky. Sarisia meanders towards the western side of the bowl. Sarisia has left. S'rist looks back at Matheny and sighs as well, "Sorry love..." he says softly, then with follows after her. In the sky directly above, Dzurath rises up in the bowl sky. Eilidh walks towards the western side of the bowl. Eilidh has left. In the sky directly above, Nezzerth flies higher in the bowl sky. L'vor walks towards the western side of the bowl. L'vor has left. S'rist meanders towards the western side of the bowl. S'rist has left. Morowen says "that was anticlimatic" High in the bowl, Corineth's bugle of defiance toward the other males changes into a low warble before it crescendos into an admiring croon to Jenryth at her rising. He leaps into the air, great sweeps of his wings trying to gain altitude and speed despite an uncooperative thermal. Light dances over his hide, tracing the outline of muscles that quiver with the power of his movements. Morowen says "Wow, dragns are magnificant though" High in the bowl, Nezzerth answers Corineth's bugle with one of his own, powerfully lifting up after the gold with powerful strokes of his wings. It's the only sound that comes from him, after the bugle the brown concentrates only on accelerating and finding better air to carry him higher. Harley nods and sighs as she watches. Not quite a wistful sigh. "Well, we can head on in to the living cavern and get something to eat and drink if you like. Unless you'd rather stay out here." High in the bowl, Dzurath doesn't give a bugle, or a croon, or a warble. He's too busy trying to keep that tough old herdbeast down as he takes to the air, wings beating powerfully as he's still got his strength. He manages to stay in the midst of the pack of dragons chasing up after Jenryth. Morowen says "no no, lead on to the food" High in the bowl, Tiqueth takes to the sky without hesitation, the sound of the bugling dragons not seeming to enter his mind as he contiunes to gain altitude. His mind on just one thing at the moment and nothing else deserves his attention. Morowen smiles Harley nods and crosses the bowl towards the caverns. Harley wanders towards the western side of the bowl. Harley has left. Morowen walks towards the western side of the bowl. Morowen has left. High in the bowl, Late in taking off, though whether that's by choice or not is up for debate, Cayetath isn't expecting a gift so soon from the brilliant prize ahead of him. As others dodge, the bronze bulk before Cay, in a move wily enough to be appreciated by the Telgarian brown, veers out at the last minute allowing the dun-colored ammunition to splat against the angular frame, sliding down in a bumpy ride along the walnut-stained brown's neckridges before sliding off towards the ground. Bugling, furious for this deception, he's at first distracted by chasing the bronze's tail, rather than Jenryth's polished oak. High in the bowl, Jenryth spreads her wings as wide as possible, proud of herself after her little tricky maneuver with the herdbeast. Her whole body slides upwards into the air in an undulating curve, much like a serpent gliding through water, a smooth motion from tip of snout to the end of her tail. Now that the skies are embracing her, she seems to have put the males below her notice. She's going to fly far and fast, and if they can keep up..well..she will see what will happen if they can. High in the bowl, Nezzerth finally finds a thermal that is actually doing more rising than shifting about willy nilly, and his attempts at a productive chase become more focused as one obstacle is behind him. Now he works on putting others, mainly those other brown dragons that seem to be all about. High in the bowl, Dzurath is working hard, but he's struggling just a bit, not able to keep the boiling in his belly from sapping just a little bit of his strength. And in a race like this, there is no room for not giving every scrap of effort and still be competitive. He gives a bit of a roaring bugle as he finds himself watching more and more brown tails instead of the gold one far up ahead. High in the bowl, Strong wings attack the air cleanly as Corineth surges upward, seemingly a streak against the sky. His whirling eyes locked ahead to a vision of wealth ... the gold. With a flight that is steady and sure, he bides his times as he lets his height and the thermals work for him. High in the bowl, Tiqueth steadies himself, his wings beating powerfully as he watches Jenryth's airal displays. His powerful arms stretch out before him, readying himself for the chase. High in the bowl, Thankfully, the bronze's tail is on its ascent towards Jenryth, leading Cayetath's fury-fueled path higher as well. Wide wings, heavily stained with mottled fruit and glistening with oil beads, reminescent of the heavy weight of liquor that's sloshed in a low glass, catch an unforseen thermal, High Reaches' winds unfamiliar territory for this brown. This added boost startles Cayetath out of his fixation, a second occurrence in this flight, but with a glimpse of gold in his vision and a remembrance of a lustful need to fulfill, he quickly he takes advantage of it, extending the range of his sails, so they can billow with the added wind rather than expend unnecessary effort in slicing through the rose-touched sky. High in the bowl, Jenryth rises higher and higher, flying fast and hard into the fading light, making the most of time before afternoon crosses over into evening. She seems content to be alone at first, but then her capricious nature takes over and she turns in the skies and starts to fly directly at her pursuers at top speed. It seems possible that she might try to fearlessly hit one of the males if she can. High in the bowl, Dzurath can only watch as Jenryth doubles back towards the chasing dragons, his wings working to try to bring him back up into the pack but the energy is just not there, the quicker browns early strength more than he can match in his current condition. High in the bowl, Corineth rumbles appreciatively at the queen's maneuver, his wings dipping into the warm summer 'Reachian air. He takes a moment to hiss at the bronze who _dared_ come close enough to send eddies of the winds across his path. He adjusts his wing beats, moving himself into a position to perhaps allow him to flick his tail to grasp the queen as she passes. His vision is only for the gold in front of him. He, the incorrigible brown, care not for these others that are Lesser than He. High in the bowl, Nezzerth eyes a brown next to him and he tries to cut over just a bit, steal a bit of that one's air so that he can be in better position if that shining gold continues on her hurtling path back in amongst her pursuers. His tail actually curls a bit in readiness, giving up some sleekness in flight to be ready should the queen pass his way. High in the bowl, Tiqueth soars in the afternoon sky, the thrill of the moment coming over him as his eyes rest on his target, inspiring him to fly swiftly. His wings work furiously as he tries to beat back his competition. At the gold's curious action Tiqueth simply steadies himself, letting himself drop down slightly to avoid a head on collision but still be in range of the rampaging queen if she passes his way. High in the bowl, Cayetath's wide circular flight that aims higher in a tightening spiral, has him well out of Jenryth's speeding range, and in the ways of a smart alec, a carelessly mocking trumpeting escapes, tossed towards the diving queen. He may have been tricked once before, but not this time. Sharply with effort, he slams his body away from the thermal, and using the momentum this action offers him, he changes direction to arc around the pack in the opposite direction and veer in towards the beckoning brilliance of light absorbing gold. Vocal wiles, the bugle turned soft and caressing against the wind is strained with effort, is rebuffed by air churned from the wings of other chasers. High in the bowl, Jenryth continues along with her..clearly questionable..flight game and flies into the first pack of browns and bronzes, coming perilously close to making contact and giving at least one of the older bronzes a couple of skipped heartbeats, and making all feel the wake of her passing in the air. She strokes her wings stronger, and after regaining some altitude makes a slow wide turn before beginning another manical dive, aiming straight at the largest cluster she sees..a grouping that is mostly brown. The glowing queen bugles triumpantly as she breaks into the throng and seeks to pass through to the other side, regardless of what may happen. High in the bowl, Dzurath watches the queen pass through the first clump of chasing dragons, giving a little bugle as she breaks free of them and still his glowing prize is there to be caught. He watches as she turns towards the pack of browns he is just behind. He readies himself, if she breaks through all of them he will take his chance at trying to grasp her. High in the bowl, Corineth feathers his wingtips and allows himself to slide sideways along the wind currents. He grunts with the effort of the precision of movement, but draws upon strength that his earlier use of thermals has preserved. With Jenryth now in his plain view, just beyond the short gap of air that is growing smaller with each moment, his tail curls and flicks out in an attempt to snare the golden beauty should she be near enough as she passes. High in the bowl, Nezzerth gives a bugle as Jenryth comes hurtling towards the group of browns he finds himself within. He readies himself, knowing that he'll have but one chance as she passes through to ensnare her with tail and neck. His neck twists, eyes looking to see where all of his competition remains, not wanting his attempt to push her into the clutches of another. High in the bowl, Perhaps that bump to his neckridges, the telltale remnants of blood scattered across his back, combined with the twists of his sharp maneuvering has left Cayetath with less energy than needed. For a moment, the heavy sails of brushed liquor and rotting fruit hang lax in a hovering state that is usually followed by a thoughtless fall to the ground, and all in all, the lithe frame Cay presents seems indecisive as to the next course of action, especially as his lover's call failed to reach its target. As other chasers crowd towards that clump of brown Jenryth dives towards, it takes the Telgarian brown a moment longer to recollect himself and strain upward, unafraid to lash his tail at those that get in his way. His neck reaches forward, his wings visibly tense in the quiver of delicate wingspars, and he's back in the game, stretching forward for his queen. High in the bowl, Tiqueth continues to observe the divebombing gold, anxiously awaiting the perfect opportunity to ensnare her. The browns powerful wings continue to provide him with great speed, the adrenal from the chase giving him even more strength. When Jenryth breaks into the group of browns above him he decides the time is right. Tiqueth propels himself upwards towards the queen, neck outstretched before him along with his arms, hoping to grasp her in his clutches. High in the bowl, Jenryth is just completely astonished (how could this ever happen to her!?!) when, instead of bowling the male dragons out of her way, she finds herself hampered by the clutches of a brown who simply waited until the right moment to catch her tail with his own. A bugle from the gold that starts out belligerent quickly turns to pleased surprise and she allows Corineth to pull her in and guide her home. High in the bowl, Corineth croons in quiet revelry as he sees his endurance has proved faithful. He refocuses his eye on the prize, taking in the golden queen's descent. High in the bowl, Nezzerth gives a frustrated bugle. He was positioned just right, till of course an errant thermal shifted everything and the gold ended up in the clutches of one of the browns not a full span away. His bugle is barely finished ringing into the air before he banks and cuts away from the group, spiraling down towards a rocky outcropping to pout and mope about having lost the chase. High in the bowl, Cayetath's never been a very good loser, and as his efforts, ever so massive as they were, go to waste with the Reaches' brown's catch of the oak-shaded queen, an indignant bellow is exhaled that resounds against the bowl walls. Defiance sends him past the entwining pair, skirting around and circling up over before diving past again. But in the end, he does return to the earth, leaving a trail of whining pouty noises in his wake, and lands with a graceless splat, due to his frustrations. High in the bowl, Dzurath has his hopes smashed before they're really even truly formed, the first brown his queen comes to snares her and he never has a chance to catch her. He turns and spirals down, banking to land outside the weyr bowl in the warm waters of the hot springs, the ache from the herdbeast even worse now that the excitement of the chase wears off. High in the bowl, Dzurath climbs higher, out of the bowl. High above the mountains, Dzurath circles lower outside the Weyr. High in the bowl, Tiqueth only misses the golds tail, having launched himself to late. After the queen and other brown become entwined he doesn't give the queen another look, seeming to convince himself that she wasn't worth it. Of course, he breaks away from the group, going off to sulk in some unknown corner like the poor sport he is. High in the bowl, Tiqueth glides downward in the bowl, towards the western wall. |
