| Mentions: Kyouri/Mentions |
| Zaisavyth is not a queen who has ever been shy about making her presence known, and though her inclinations during her pregnancy have been less loud than they were before her flight... well. She can nonetheless be uncomfortably present at times, as bulky and uncomfortable as she is. It's a relief, then, at least for some, when she announces to the Weyr her intention to take to the hatching sands, very early on day five, month eight (that she interrupts sleep for some is another issue altogether). Unlike some queens, Zaisavyth seems to have no compunctions about being watched, and genuinely divas her way through the entire clutching process. By evening, she and Vhaeryth have a satisfying clutch of fourteen, though none of them show any hint of a golden sheen. With eggs on the sands, attention falls naturally towards candidates. All lower caverns workers of an appropriate age are encouraged (strongly encouraged) to Stand. The Weyr will also accept the friends and family of any current Fortians, though emphasis will be upon quality: the involvement of search dragons is encouraged... and a solid work record required. Two days later, a small cohort arrive from Monaco, too, with Kyouri's blessings. These candidates are mostly twenty-four or older; candidates who may never have another chance if they stay at Monaco. With luck, Fort will manage to pull together enough candidates without having to actively search from holds that are trying to prepare for the harvest while recovering from the plague. |
