Weyrvintner

Saelin, a Journeywoman posted to the Weyr in late turn 33. Calm and confident, manages the Weyr's booze supply with finesse and professionalism, even if it means that the vintners under her have to make sure all their i-s are dotted and t-s are crossed.

Formerly: Markarin, a Journeyman, was the interim Weyrvintner from month 6 of turn 31 to mid-turn 33 when he received a new posting. Journeywoman Tayte and her counterpart shared interim duties until late in turn 33 when the new Weyrvintner arrived. Posted to the Weyr since Turn 23, just after walking the tables, Markarin has a reputation for being good at his job but self-important and has been nicknamed 'Journeyman Sourgrapes' behind his back. The fact that the Craft has been more time than one might expect for either choosing or sending a new Crafter to be Weyrvintner has given the already arrogant Journeyman even more unpleasantly haughty attitude. Rumor says he was disgruntled to be considered only very briefly for the Weyr liaison post since it was pointed out that he's not actually the Weyrvintner, just an interim, and not nearly as senior as most of the other crafters up for the position.

Journeymen

High Reaches employs a few of Journeyman with a variety of specialties.

• Tayte: Posted to HRW in month 9, turn 31. Specialty is mixology and flavored liquors. Assigned for a special research project that has something to do with mixing/flavoring methods and the cold environment at 'Reaches. She almost never wears her knot. In month 2, turn 34, she was asked back to the Hall temporarily to assist her mentor in teaching while he (hopefully) recovers from illness.

Apprentices

There are usually about five apprentices posted to the Weyr for experience and to study with and assist the various journeymen.

• Pilippa (Pippa): female apprentice, 15-16 turns old, a bubbly gossip who always seems to have the latest lowdown on the happenings with not only the Vintners but the Craft Complex denizens in general. Broke her arm in a storerooms accident (Logs: A Spill In The Storerooms).

• Carizee (Crazy): female senior apprentice, 18-19 turns old, responsible, helpful, expecting to transfer back to the Hall soon; posted to HRW since she was 15.
