| You meander into the tunnel to the living cavern. Living Cavern, High Reaches Weyr(#1000RJs) The impressive living cavern is seemingly as large as the bowl that cradles the hatching sands. Rivers of polished wood tables and benches arrow towards a raised platform crowned with a compact version of their sturdy design. Neatly crafted pegs, some fancifully carved, are tapped into holes in the wall and support clothing dangling like lazy sleepers. Woven baskets, both useful and decorative, hang along another wall. Bundles of autumn foliage in brilliant reds and oranges mixed with sprigs of crimson berries have been thrust into the baskets on the wall. Pickling spices and the tang of smoking meat fill the air. Banners worked with the designs of Holds and Halls beholden to the weyr cascade down the walls high above, interspersed with several brilliantly colored tapestries. The clink of cutlery harmonizes with the flowing river of talk and gossip as the weyrfolk gather for a hearty evening meal. Josilina strides in, her gray cloak flapping and swishing behind her as she makes her way into the cavern. "'Lo all!" She offers a pleasent greeting to those nearby as she heads for the serving table, muttering something about hot tea. Kalina naturally starts laughing again. "You're quite humorous, R'don, " she manages to get out between laughs. Shaking her head a bit, the woman takes another drink of klah to steady herself, even though she'll probably be kept awake later. Taking another bite of meatroll, Kalina glances up as she hears Josi's voice. "Josilina?" she calls. "Hey! How're you doing? How's Lhiannonth?" Lhiannonth> Lhiannonth rumbles a brief greeting to Gederoth as she settles around a mound of snow, brighter-than-normal tail curling around herself. Josilina(#17466Pace$) Copper fire twines to midback in a flurry of twisted curls, shot through with rivulets of of bronze, brought out by the sun. Those spiraling curls frame a sun-kissed, freckled face, set with eyes of a glittering cobalt under a pair of dark, contrasting sienna 'brows, a small, pert nose, and a pair of full ruddy lips that hover over a rounded chin. Full of stubborn determination that chin has a tendancy to tilting upwards to aid her rather unremarkable height of 5'5. 23 Turns, 4 months, and 22 days have put clear curves in the right places in her slim frame which is laced with muscle as well, product of turns of hard work. Josi dons a gray cloak- it's even oversized, so she seems to be swallowed by its billowing expanse. A hood hangs behind her head when it's not pulled up, half hiding her hair, which is pinned in a neat bun at the nape of her neck. Beneath the outer garment is a long dress dyed to match in heather gray. A bit of black trims the long sleeves, a cord belt of a lighter fog is knotted around the waist and gives the dress a bit of shape, while the hem is long enough to brush the tops of her black boots. The knot of a Jr. weyrwoman from High Reaches sits on one shoulder, hidden by the cloak when it's worn. From afar, Sria giggles quietly. She's wearing gray. I don't think I can even *fathom*...
Josilina is wearing a gray dress too, under the cloak. Will wonders never cease? "I'm fine! She's fine! We're fine!" She replies, in her normal good spirits it seems. It takes more than winter to get to this one. "Really? I think winter's lovely myself! The snow, the warm drinks, the...snow." She says, as she gathers a mug of steaming tea and heads for the tables. Kalina gives Josilina an odd look, then blinks as she finally sees the..gray. "You repeated 'snow' twice, " she notes, eyes slightly narrowed warily. "Nice, um, outfit, there, Jos, " she finally manages to say through the.....shock. Maybe M'dron will return to an empty weyr. Too many more surprises and she'll have a heart-attack.
Lhiannonth> Sria meanders into the tunnel to the living cavern. Lhiannonth> Sria has left. Sria strolls in from the tunnel to the bowl. Sria has arrived. "Did I?" Josilina seems terribly unconcerned about this fact as she settles into a chair, cloak billowing at the movement. "Well. Snow is lovely." She pauses to draw up her hood, which just completes the unrecognizable effect- all that hints at her identity if one isn't look at her straight on is a few copper curls peeking out. "You like it?" She smiles, pleased. "I saw it in Ecim's wardrobe the other day, stuffed in the back, and just had to borrow it. It's so nice." R'don just gets a Look and a light sniff. R'don frowns slightly, trying to think. "Who's Ecim again? You should have a looksee at Ysabel's stuff, I bet she's got some lovely clothing thats more.. colorful." Sria sends a wave toward those gathered and heads toward the serving tables - passing nearer, she greets with a light, "'Afternoon, R'don, Kalina." Just a nod for whoever that other person is, and her path leads her to collect a mug of something. Kalina gives R'don back a look that implies she's being courteous. After all, Josi is nice and who'd want to hurt her feelings? "Yeah, R'don has a good idea, " she says quickly. "Or maybe you'd like to borrow one of my spare ones? It'd be /blue/, and I'm sure it'd bring out your eyes and all....oh, hello Sria, " she finishes, greeting the brownrider as she spots her. "Rather cold outside today, isn't it?" Josilina shrugs under the cloak, "I have more colorful stuff. You know that. I just didn't...feel like it today. It was too bright." She glances between Kalina and R'don, "What? It's not /that/ bad! It's just gray! Honestly, you people!" She's distracted by her sister's voice, and the mention of the brownriders name, and turns slightly, calling a bright, "Sriii! Hey!" Kalina nearly chokes. Not that bad? /Just/ gray? "Uh, right, right, Josilina. It's just gray, after all. A very nice color, " she agrees with a tiny grimace. "But you usually, well, /like/ bright things, " the irrepressible Kali murmurs. And leaves it at that. R'don takes a sip of his klah, and nods, "Oh, yeah I like grey. It's .. yeah, what Kalina just said. Heya Sria," he waves to the brownrider and begins rocking again. Lhiannonth> Riordanth has arrived. Lhiannonth> Mohria has arrived. Lhiannonth> Mohria walks into the tunnel to the living cavern. Lhiannonth> Mohria has left. Mohria strides in from the tunnel to the bowl. Mohria has arrived. "Mm-hmm," agrees Sria, and says, dryly, "Snow - big surprise, that." Appearing to have decided on cider, she turns around with both hands wrapped around the mug, and peers a bit closer at the gray-cloaked person in the conversation - not necessary, really, "What was too bright -er." She pauses, and stares a moment. "Jos," is then decided, though she doesn't look too sure about it. Lhiannonth> Ysabel has arrived. Lhiannonth> Ysabel strolls into the tunnel to the living cavern. Lhiannonth> Ysabel has left. Ysabel strides in from the tunnel to the bowl. Ysabel has arrived. Mohria enters still dressed in her odd costume from yesterday. Pants too large, and an old shirt. Her riding gloves are obvisouly someone elses, and her goggles keep sliding down her face because the strap is too large. She lifts a hand in a wave to all in the Cavern, though none are probably looking at her. Josilina hrmphs rather softly. "Well, I needed a break from bright things! Gray is a perfectly good color too!" She declares, before subsiding to sip at her tea. Someone better quote her on that someday. "Sri." She echos her sister, just for the fun of it and all. Maybe it's a new game? The name game? "How've you been? How's Sruth? Lhia mentioned something about star-pictures the other day- hello, hello!" The last is a cheerful call to the newly entered, Josilina shifting a hand under her cloak to wave. Lhiannonth> Iosketh has arrived. Lhiannonth> J'larn has arrived. Kalina glances up and grins at the newcomer. "Mohria, hi!" she calls, gesturing for the bluerider to come and join her. "Still haven't found a fitting set yet?" she asks, a smile curving her lips. "Hopefully Riordanth apologized..." Lhiannonth> J'larn meanders into the tunnel to the living cavern. Lhiannonth> J'larn has left. J'larn wanders in from the tunnel to the bowl. J'larn has arrived. Ysabel wanders in, waving absently at the crowd as she heads for the serving table, only to stop halfway there and do a doubletake. "Hello?" she replies hesitantly, peering at the grey clad figure. Upon deciding that yes, this really is Josilina, she beams. "I like your dress!" R'don waves at Ysabel form his rocking chair at the hearth, then turns his gaze onto Mohria. "What happened to your regular clothing?" Mohria gets herself a mug of cider, and - pulling off her huge gloves - and setting them on the table with a *flop* she sits next to Kalina, giving her a grin. "No, I haven't. Rio thought it was so funny, after his initial dissapointment of squishing a perfectly good wherry." She glances around the room, giving smiles to those that she knows. She turns to R'don. "Hunting yesterday, Rio squished a wherry next to me, and my clothing got rather...bloodied. I just dumped them." Sria stares at Josilina. "You needed a break - gray -" She shakes her head a bit. "I didn't even know you -owned- clothing that color. Er- Sruth. Is fine." Sria's recovering, if slowly. She still looks like she might need to sit down. "You're - why gray?" Nevermind if she's already been asked. "Hi, Ysabel," she manages. Josilina beams right back at Ysabel, "Thank you! Your vote seems to be a first! It's not mine actually, I borrowed it, but I rather like it. How've you been?" Sria's rather stunned reaction earns a grin "I don't! I borrowed it from Ecim! ...Cause it's rather lovely, that's why!" Lovely seems to be one of her words of the day. "I'm considering getting an outfit like this. It's fun- the cloak swishes!" She waves one side of the cloak in demonstration, hood falling back again in the process. Swishes. Really! "That's a...luxury feature, I assume?" Kalina asks a bit dryly, before turning back to Mohria. "I don't blame him for thinking it was /funny/, but wasn't he at all concerned about your clothes? Hey Ysabel, " she calls to the goldrider, waving in a friendly manner. "How is Xemyth?" "It's...rather lovely." Sria's on a repetition trend, it seems. It also seems as though she has no other words, though her expression looks as though she might like to say something - anything. Instead, she suddenly tilts her head slightly, and glances toward the entrance. J'larn's smiles politely from his seat at one end of the Avalanche tables. His meal cools before him, half finished. He has no real company, for he holds himself apart from his neighbors, as he scans the cavern with lazy attention. Mohria shakes her head, taking a sip from her mug. "No. He thinks clothing is unnecessary." She lifts an arm, watching the fabric fall away from it in folds. "I may be inclined to agree with him at this point." Ysabel nods in agreement over the swishy cloak. "It *is* lovely. I want one. Hello Kalina, Sria!" she carols, turning to answer Kalina's question...and spotting R'don. "Er. Xemyth is fine. She's...um...I've got to go." And she turns and runs right out again.
"Me, too." Sria abruptly says, on the heels of Ysabel's words, and abandons her untouched mug on the table for Ysabel's same path. Sria meanders outside to the bowl. Sria has left. Lhiannonth> Sria strolls out of the living cavern. Lhiannonth> Sria has arrived. Kalina giggles at Mohria. "If that happened to me, I think I would, too. Wha --- okay, bye Ysabel, " she says alternately to the other two women, watching Ysabel's hasty departure with a raised eyebrow. "What's gotten into them?" she questions, staring after Sria. "Of course!" Is Josilina's answer to both Kalina /and/ Sria. Of her sister she also queries however, "Whatcha lookin' at?" Leaning to the side a bit she attempts to follow Sri's gaze out the cavern then- "Where'd she go?" She wonders, startled at the brownriders abrupt departure. Mohria blinks, and gives Kalina a shrug. "Don't know." she takes another sip of her cider. R'don blinks, as first Ysabel and then Sria flee. A frown appears on his face, and he turns back toward the fire, taking a sip of his klah. If he noticed J'larn coming in, he doesn't acknowledge the brownrider's presence verbally.
Lhiannonth> Lhiannonth rumbles softly, opening her eyes lazily and shifting her vaguely bright bulk to watch Sria and Sruth with almost detatched interest. Lhiannonth> Riordanth watches the brown and his rider through half-lidded eyes.
Josilina shifts in her seat, nose scrunching up in displeasure. "Hot shards. I wonder what got into them. Lhia says Sri's having a staring contest with Sruth." She notes. Hearing J'larn addressed she glances over, offering the Avalanche rider a pleasent, "Hullo there J'larn!" Though she continues to glance distractedly toward the bowl entrance.
Lhiannonth> Wydreth has arrived.
Kalina frowns. "A /staring/ contest?" she repeats, bewilderedly. Shaking her head, the woman seems to have been beaten intellectually today. "My mind's likely to get tied up by all of these confusing events. I can't take it much longer, " she mutters, then glances up as J'larn passes by. "Oh.....sorry, J'larn. I'm...well."
Josilina looks decidedly puzzled, though she offers J'larn a smile, motioning for him to take a chair at her table if he so wishes, "Sit, if you want." She offers a little distractedly, nodding to Kalina's echo, "A staring contest. Only now they're growling at each other- I think Sria's making them leave." She reports, clearly confused.
Lhiannonth> Sria mounts Sruth, vaulting to his neck with the assistance of straps and a helpfully placed forelimb. Lhiannonth> Sria has left. Lhiannonth> Sruth has left. Lhiannonth> Astride Taralyth's neck, I'sai calls down as he dismounts - a slower process than usual, given the way that Taralyth's arching his neck this way and that - "Cost-effective in human terms, too, sleep and all that. The healers have done studies on the results of changing shifts and - " he breaks off as Sruth disappears. Lhiannonth> I'sai slides down from Taralyth's neck. Lhiannonth> I'sai has arrived.
Lhiannonth> Dasmareth settles, leaving room for both bronzes next to her. Shameless she is. Ami nods, "I'm sure there is, live." Then she turns to wait for I'sai, and pauses to blink at Sri's quick departure, "What's that about, I wonder?" Lhiannonth> Riordanth rumbles again, this time with a more confused tone at the brown's leaving, and croons a greeting to the newly-arrived dragons. Lhiannonth> Gederoth snores softly, oblivious.
"And they're gone." Josilina continues with the Sria-situation reports, though J'larn's compliment brings a delighted grin, "Thanks J'larn! Everyone thinks it's weird or something- but I don't see what the big deal is." She says matter-of-factly, giving her oversized gray cloak a fond tweak.
Lhiannonth> Ysabel has arrived. Lhiannonth> Lhiannonth lifts her head slightly to follow Sruth's departure, before giving the newly arrived dragons a light rumble, tucking her head back down, shiny tail flicking a bit restlessly. Lhiannonth> Ysabel heads towards the eastern side of the bowl. Lhiannonth> Ysabel has left.
J'larn maintains his quiet smile as he tells Jos, "It isn't a big deal. You can look any way you want." His hands curl before him on the table as he watches them.
Josilina grins at Kalina, waving a hand, "Oh you don't have to! I just think it's a nice color is all." J'larn's statement gets a quirked eyebrow, "Well that's a nice change of opinion from your...fashion statements earlier." It seems her comment is all in good humor though, that fact accented by a quick wink, before she glances over at R'don. "How's Gederoth been? Did his wing heal alright?"
Lhiannonth> G'non mmms. "Except, of course, that odd Falls are the ones where the normal formations are least likely to be effective." He shakes his head. "Maybe what Pern needs is another Weyr--a small Weyr, without a regular patrol area, dedicated to support and fast reaction."
Kalina glances at Mohria and laughs. "I think we can all agree with you there, " she grins. "Have you started looking for some 'matching' things yet? Not that your outfit isn't perfectly wonderful, but."
Lhiannonth> I'sai can't help but deadpan, "Unless you're caught under 'em when they fall." Lhiannonth> Amilin smiles at the pair and heads in, if they follow or not. She seems less inclined to 'shop talk' at any rate. Lhiannonth> Amilin strides into the tunnel to the living cavern. Lhiannonth> Amilin has left. Amilin walks in from the tunnel to the bowl. Amilin has arrived.
I'sai strides in from the tunnel to the bowl. I'sai has arrived. R'don seems distracted now, though he does respond to Josilina, "Oh yes, he's fine. Back in fighing formation, so to speak. Though hopefully we won't have any more surprise threadfalls.. Will you guys excuse me?" He grabs his jacket off the back of the rocking chair, puts it on, then heads out with mug of klah still in hand. No one could, now could they? "I can certainly understand that, " Kalina assures Mohria, taking another drink of her now-cool klah. "I wouldn't be able to wear /that/ for more than a day. Why don't you try asking Jacera?" she suggests, suddenly. "I'm sure that Jace would be able to help you find something in the storerooms."
G'non strolls in from the tunnel to the bowl. G'non has arrived. R'don strolls outside to the bowl. R'don has left. Mohria ahhs softly and nods. "A /very/ good idea. I'll do that." She flashes a grateful smile at Kalina. "While I'm out I may as well get a bunch of sets. Just in case this ever happens, er, again." Ceres waves as she makes her way over to the serving table. Amilin heads in and stops just inside the door, waiting for I'sai and G'non despite her seeming to leave them behind, from their perspective perhaps. Josilina looks faintly startled, glancing sideways at J'larn, "Thanks for what?" She asks, puzzled. "Teasing you? Oh! Or are you being sarcastic?" Amilin's enterance is noticed, and Josilina waves, causing the cloak to ripple a bit, "Ami! Hey Ami! Have you talked to Sri lately? Know if she's...sick or anything? Hi G'non! And hi...um..." Lacking a name to put to I'sai's face, she falls back on formalities, "'Reaches duties to ...Telgar!" R'don gets a nod, and Ceres a wave, "Hi Ceres!" I'sai adds to G'non as he enters, "Friends on the skeleton crew over there, though, they've been experimenting with formations and such. Myk'd be the one to talk to about that, though, he has more free time to keep up with it all - " and more generally to the room, "Telgar's duties, right back to you." I'sai sidesteps, too, so as to avoid crashing into the greenrider stopped in front of him. J'larn notes to Jos, "Sria mentioned that you liked to get a rise out of people," before donning a grin for Amilin as follows her with green eyes. G'non returns the greetings as he nods to I'sai. "Melata might be interested in that...she's been restructuring Avalanche to be faster and more flexible when it comes to reacting to Fall." Kalina giggles. "Just tell Riordanth not to squish a wherry anymore, either! Greetings, Amilin, Ceres, G'non, " she says to all three riders as they come in, giving a polite nod to the Telgarian. Listening quietly to the talk about wings, she really doesn't pay much attention to it. It just serves as a nice backdrop for her thoughts at the moment. Lhiannonth> R'don ambles outside, lifting his mug of klah to his lips as he looks around in the dim light. His gaze drifts to the junior weyrwomen ledges, and then to Gederoth. Ceres smiles at Josilina as she picks up a mug, "Hi there, you are looking different today, new haircut?" Mohria chuckles, nodding. She also lifts her gaze and gives a smile to those entering, refusing to lift an arm in greeting, because when she does the huge roll of fabric slides all the way up to her elbow. Amilin chuckles at the pair of bronzeriders and heads on for the table, stopping as Jos calls to her and frowning, "I didn't think she was ill, but she left in a hurry, arguing with Sruth.. and is that, _grey_, your wearing?" Josilina looks mildly affronted, "I do not! I tease people. Sometimes. On occasion. What does Sri know anyway?" The redhead grumps, picking up her tea. "Sri's the one who likes to go off and sedu-mrpshh..." She abruptly trails off into a mumble, quieting herself with her tea. "Haircut?" That's to Ceres. "Nope! New outfit though." She notes, complete with a grand gesture. Ami just gets a broad grin and a nod, "Mm-hm." I'sai can't help but grin, "Wish you'd gotten dibs on getting to try that?" and starts taking off his jacket - till the close-knotted kerchief catches on his upper arm, at least, and he mutters something to Ami about can he take it off now, and why is he wearing it anyway, stalled only by the sight of Mohria's having far more on her arm than he. Softly, "...It's -grown-." G'non blinks and glances at Josi. "But I *like* your normal outfits, Josi!" He would. Kalina blinks at Josi's er....blunder. Grinning at I'sai, the woman shakes her head at him. "It didn't grow. You could say that it got there by a 'blooding' of sorts, though." J'larn holds Jos with his gaze once more, with all the attention newly directed to her, but says nothing for comment on Sria. "Hi, Amilin," he might be heard to murmur, just so it has been said. Amilin blinks a few times at Jos and then shakes her head, "Well, I'd never thought I'd see the day. You lose a bet?" G'non gains the traditional eye roll, but no comments on *that* matter as she shakes her head at Is, "No, you should wear it still. Really" Evil/sweet grin and Ami turns a genuine smile to J'larn, "G'eve to you, as well. How are you J'larn?" J'larn looks brightly to Amilin and says, "I'm good! It's been a while since we've crossed paths. How've you been?" "Oh, I like 'em too G'non." Josilina replies cheerfully, "But I got tired of all that color. I needed...variety." Hence gray. "What?" She murmurs to J'larn, before Amilin's question requires answering, "No! I didn't! I just...oh nevermind!" She proceeds to pull up her hood and make faces into her tea mug. Mature. Yep. That's Jos. I'sai eyes Ami a dubious moment before edging Kalina's way in relief. "So people here aren't just randomly wearing - things - on their arms? What's the story behind that, then? And," he drops his voice at least a fraction, "Could you tell me, that -is- Ysabel, yes? Not the other one, Sria's sister?" Kalina smiles at I'sai. "Mohria, here, got a bloodbath when Riordanth was out hunting the other day. He squished a wherry, and the blood ended up upon her." Short, simple, and sweet. Shaking her head, the woman's gaze holds in affirmative denial. "I'm afraid that isn't Ysabel at all, sir. That /is/ Sria's sister, Josilina." Mohria glances up at the mention of her name, and gives a laugh and a 'what are you going to do?' shrug to I'sai. You know, your dragon squishes a best, gets blood all over you, you throw away your clothes...what are you going to do? Ceres moves over to a somewhat quieter part of the room, setting her mug of klah down on the table before shrugging her jacket off, dropping it on the back of her chair. Amilin chuckles, "Oh, I've just been busy with weyrling, J'larn. Trying to keep them progressing fast enough while not pushing themselves too hard since that fall. Seems a few of them are of a similar mind as a certain weyrmate of mine when it comes to work these days." Sweet innocent grin (tm) to G'non. For Jos, Ami makes a face back. Hey, why not. I'sai winces - doubly - though covers with, "I see. The launderers must have been -very- happy about that," and answers Mohria's laugh with a rueful roll of his eyes. J'larn's focus goes briefly to Jos for Ami's strange face, and with a smile he looks back to the greenrider to tell her, "I sure don't miss those days. Anyone remind you of me of the current bunch?" Mohria shakes her head at I'sai. "I just tossed the entire outfit. Hence this." She lifts her hands to display the huge, old shirt. One can't see the pants, which are definatly too large either. G'non harrumphs. "Hey, you said I needed a break, and here I am! I do NOT work that hard!" Josilina catches Kalina's words and looks up, missing Ami's face-making in the process. "Josilina? Where? -Er, I mean, who's asking?" Amilin chuckles at getting caught, and grins as she answers honestly, "J'larn, I don't think that any could match up to you." And to G'non, a soft smile accompanies the simple, "Yes, dear." You guess to which. J'larn shifts his interest to G'non. "Hello, sir. Work is far more time consuming out of the barracks, isn't it?" Lhiannonth> High in the bowl, Araneidth emerges from Between with a blast of cold air! Lhiannonth> On the Star Stones, Ulanoth warbles a greeting to Brown Araneidth of Ista Weyr. Lhiannonth> Araneidth has arrived. Lhiannonth> A'rus has arrived. A'rus strides in from the tunnel to the bowl. A'rus has arrived. I'sai assesses the bluerider's figure, then decides, "Could about fit two of you in that. You've enough spares?" At the exclamation, though, he squares his shoulders and practices a guileless, it-was-G'non smile on Sria's sister. His knot, though, that's hard to hide. Kalina gapes for a moment at Josi's interesting.....choice of words. "This rider from Telgar, " she replies, giving the goldrider a wary glance. "He just needed proof of identification. You know." Hasty grin. The woman fidgets for a moment, clearly a bit nervous. "Um....hello there. 'Reaches duties to......Ista?" she ends, giving A'rus a smile.
Lhiannonth> Semeth has arrived. Lhiannonth> Semeth swoops down and lands near Taralyth, bugling loudly at the bronze. Lhiannonth> P'tod swings his leg over Semeth's neck and slides to the ground. Lhiannonth> P'tod has arrived. Lhiannonth> Lamorna strolls out of the lower caverns. Lhiannonth> Lamorna has arrived.
Mohria shakes her head. "No spares. None that are in any shape to be used. They were in storage for so long..." she grimaces. P'tod strides in, riding helmet in hand, and calls out. "Telgar's duties! I'sai, where the shell are you, man?"
Lhiannonth> Taralyth breaks off his study of newly-arrived Araneidth to warble right back to Semeth, tail twitching - see? He wasn't so hard to find.
Lhiannonth> Lamorna meanders into the tunnel to the living cavern. Lhiannonth> Lamorna has left.
Lhiannonth> Araneidth warbles his own greeting to Taralyth, then turns as Semeth arrives. Hey! That's an Istan dragon! Or he was... Josilina gives a wave to the newly arrived P'tod and A'rus, "Reaches duties!" She calls, before glancing at I'sai. "Hullo! I'm Josilina, you know you only needed to ask me really!" She notes, rather pleasent about it. Ceres waves to the arriving riders, "Lots of visitors tonight."
Kalina nods to Ceres. "There sure are." About to take another drink of klah, she stops when she realizes how cold it is and pushes it away in a moment of disgust. J'larn swiftly says to G'non, "Of course, sir. You're right." He has lips pressed in a rosy line as his brow puckers: this young man is no fan of crowds, which he proves by excusing himself to stand. As he passes by Amilin, he wonders, "I'd like to catch up with you sometime. Is there anytime you're usually free?" A'rus grins a bit at Ceres uppon hearing her words. "Actually, I'm usually around Fort making deliveries," he comments, for conversation's sake if anything. "I'm a bit of an errand boy for my wing." At that, he pauses and looks at a scap of hide in his hand. "Only problem is...I can't read the handwriting of who I'm supposed to be delivering messages to..." Melata strolls in from the tunnel to the bowl. Melata has arrived. I'sai's smile, though he holds it, shades into more of a baring of teeth. "Over here, P'tod," and he appends a quick nod to A'rus in lieu of duties, here in others' Weyr. "...All right then, Josilina. I'll remember. Would it work to ask you about the kerchief story, too?" prodding the orange scrap of Ami's wrapped about his upper arm. Lhiannonth> Verenth waddles over from the eastern side of the bowl. Lhiannonth> Verenth has arrived. Ceres nods to A'rus, "Well if you like I can take a look at the note, I am a very bad writer so I may recognize it, perhaps?" Lamorna quietly moves over to the food table and pours herself a mug of klah before wandering over to Mohria "What's going on? P'tod turns, then, tugging off his gloves and fastening them together, stuffing them along with the helmet into his jacket pocket as he makes a beeline for I'sai. "Did you tell R'siel that he could ferry his friends over to the Hold?" he demands shortly. "He was to be grounded for two weeks for that stunt he pulled in the hunting grounds, but he says you told him he could go." Josilina blinks at the kerchief, "Kerchief?" Eye. "Ami? Why do you have a thing- an *orange* thing wrapped around your arm?" Convienently, she forgets to ask I'sai his name in return. Kalina waves at Lamorna and looks suspiciously around at the riders gathering in the caverns. "I'm not sure, but I do have my suspicions." That's all she's saying. The cold meatroll is also disregarded with a grimace. Divya wanders into the cavern from the lower caverns. Divya has arrived. Amilin smiles and nods to J'larn, "Oh, tomorrow afternoon, mayhap? Just have Iosketh bespeak Das?" Then turns to rest a hand on G'non's arm, "Shall we get something to take up? It's getting awfully crowded?" Flight sense that Lhiannonth peers. Is that everyone? If your chasing, please say something along the lines of 'here' or somesuch :)
Divya wanders out from the lower caverns, wet hair slicked back and fresh warm clothing in place. She finds her way to the klah pot and pours herself a cup. Konnevath bespoke Flight with « Somesuch. :) » Iosketh bespoke Flight with « Here! »
Semeth bespoke Flight with « Hey hey. »
A'rus nods to that, approaching Ceres and holding out the small scrap to her. "I hope you can," he says, rubbing the back of his neck a bit. "I was kinda given the hint it was important, but I'll get nowhere if I can't figure out where I'm *going*. I really do feel a bit akward here, stumbling around like a blind wherry." He smirks to himself at that. Melata quietly finds a place in the corner and out of the way. She's glad she flies a blue, really. I'sai shoots his fellow incoming assistant a look, and then explains quickly to Josilina, "She told me to. And of course, I do whatever she says," when the moon is full or at least blue and the stars are aligned just so and everyone waits politely for dinner. When P'tod's near enough, he says tersely, "Have to lay out the wash before the whole cavern, too? Shards yes, I said he could bring 'em - _after_ the sevendays were up." J'larn tells Amilin, "I'll do that," before nodding to G'non in parting. Taralyth bespoke Flight with « Right here. »
Lamorna leans forward to hear Kalina. Josilina is looking a little...twitchy, to be frank, fiddling with the edge of her cloak. "Hm? Oh. Well that's good." Her answer is slightly distracted to I'sai. "Ami's a good person to listen to. Hullo..." That's a vague greeting to those newly entered. "That's not what he told me," is P'tod's prompt and belligerent response; he glares for a moment at I'sai, then turns away, yanking a chair out with a disgusted expression on his face. "Sneaky little whelp. I'll wring his skinny neck. Better yet, I'll get Yash to do it. Of all the..." he mutters something under his breath, and plants a foot on the chair to brace himself. He's too irritated yet to actually sit down. Lhiannonth> Devath has arrived. Lhiannonth> Alaida has arrived. Alaida wanders in from the tunnel to the bowl. Alaida has arrived. Ceres takes the scrap from A'rus and looks it over carefully. A moment later she turns it over and smiles, "Oh, here we go. Well looks like I can take this from you anyway, it is addressed to me. I think." Divya waves and salutes Kalina with her mug. She drinks heartily before calling out a greeting. Lamorna raises an eyebrow at Kalina's words and shoots a look at Jos "Ah. I see. Yes, Sh'yar was talking about the same thing the other day. Interesting. G'non strolls outside to the bowl. G'non has left. Flight sense that Lhiannonth woots, ok! I've got all the Flight rules and such up on a site for ease and all. www.angelfire.com/rpg2/shosha150/flightrules.html Please take a look at them, and then feel free to start the blooding thing, as it seems like we're about ready to start :)
Amilin smiles to J'larn, "Sounds good." Then turns to G'non, mock sternly, "If your going to look at reports again today, love. I'm going to Shipfish or the lava lounge." From afar, to A'rus, Alaida, Ceres, Divya, I'sai, J'larn, Josilina, Kalina, Lamorna, Melata, and P'tod, Amilin misses I'sai ducks a likewise-terse nod Josilina's way, before returning to business: "Of course that's what he'd tell you, P'tod. And what, you not up for dressing him down, that you'll make Yashira do it? Or do you just want to watch her in action?" A'rus blinks, looking rather dumbstruck. "Is it really?" Blush. "Oh shells, I'm sorry! I didn't know!" And now the brownrider proceeds to stumble all over himself. "I hope I didn't cause any trouble, I really don't..." P'tod hears his name, and turns, looking at least as surprised if not more so to see Alaida. "Hello," he says, trying but not quite succeeding at keeping the sour note out of his voice. His eyes flick back to I'sai. "The latter, of course. Don't you?" he asks with raised eyebrow. Amilin slips out after G'non, carrying a bit of dinner she fetches. Amilin strolls outside to the bowl. Amilin has left. Lhiannonth senses that Semeth is all wavy blue calm and self-assurance. « They do not all notice, but I think you are particularly to be admired tonight. »
Lamorna chuckles "Thanks! I'm glad you like them." She pauses for a moment and then murrmers "If it is a flight, I need to have plenty of wine on hand."
Lhiannonth senses that Semeth radiates contentment. « I merely credit what is due. »
Divya hears the word 'flight', and groans. She immediately searches out a big pitcher and gets a helpful cook to fill it with hot klah while she mutters something under her breath. The word 'lug' seems to pop up repeatedly. Ceres smiles at A'rus, "Please, don't worry about it. I hadn't expected it for a couple of days. Want to have a seat?" She glances back to P'tod and I'sai, "Nice.." P'tod waves a hand at Alaida. "Sorry about that. Not you, it's weyrlings -- always weyrlings. You know how they are."
Lhiannonth> Konnevath has arrived.
Alaida glances over at P'tod again, then chuckles. "Yes, I do. I hope everything is going alright at Ista? " "-Ursa-, but - " at P'tod's shift in expression, I'sai leans out to see who he'd been talking to, and gives Alaida a bright smile for good measure. Until Ceres' words sink in, at least; "...Hm? Sorry. Long day. Already."
Lhiannonth> Konnevath lumbers towards the eastern side of the bowl. Lhiannonth> Konnevath has left.
Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, A brave young wherry refuses to budge, hovering protectively over her nest to keep it from being trampled.
Josilina glances up as she hears that word- flight. Repeatedly even. "Who's having a flight?" She wonders, glancing about, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Lhiannonth> G'non hoists himself up onto Wydreth's back lightly. Lhiannonth> G'non has left. Lhiannonth> Amilin jumps up onto Dasmareth's back, using her foreleg as a step. Lhiannonth> Amilin has left. Lhiannonth> Wydreth has left. Lhiannonth> Dasmareth has left. Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Two young bull herdbeasts square off in a challenge for dominance of the herd, invigorated by the cool evening air. Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Semeth gives a great trumpeting roar as he glides into the feeding grounds, skimming atop a small group of herdbeasts, one of which he singles out for a sharp talon's blow to the head. The animal falls, and Semeth drops beside it, bending to blood in triumph.
Alaida flicks her dark eyes over at I'sai and smiles lightly before taking a sip of her klah then tilts her head, flicking her eyes over toward the bowl. She raises an eyebrow, paling instantly. "Uh.... I think I should get going. Now. " She sets her mug down firmly before hightailing it out of the cavern, almost at a run. P'tod gives Alaida a blank look. "I don't know." Then he realizes: "Oh. I guess you hadn't heard. I transferred to Telgar. Things are going quite swimmingly there, except for disobedient weyrlings of course." Lhiannonth> Araneidth has left.
Lhiannonth> Devath rumbles softly, fluttering her wings as she watches the males leave.
Lhiannonth> Alaida wanders out of the living cavern. Lhiannonth> Alaida has arrived.
Ceres nods again to the riders from Telgar, "Weyrlings, understandable. I don't miss that too much." She smiles back to A'rus, "Your dragon joining the flight perhaps?" Kalina casts a warning glance at Lamorna, smiles brightly at Josi, and waves toward Melata. "G'evening, Melata, " she calls, smiling over at the bluerider.
Melata winds her way towards the staffer. "Hello. So many browns and bronzes crowded in this cavern tonight."
Lhiannonth> Taralyth abruptly lifts to all four paws, a supple, showy stretch that sends muscle shifting smoothly beneath his dark-to-light hide; he regards the running woman with a moment's sparkle-eyed appraisal before shifting his focus elsewhere, breathing in the snowy wind.
Lhiannonth> Alaida has left. Lhiannonth> Devath has left.
"Of course they are, we wouldn't have done otherwise, would we? It's just that whelp of a greenling who's the problem." P'tod gives I'sai a look that could be almost interpreted as a challenge. "What's this about G'non, hmmm?" He doesn't comment aloud about the dragons' behavior, but judging from the way his eyes flick around the room, finding maleriders and sizing them up, he's aware of it. It's just, why state the obvious? Lhiannonth> You rise effortlessly into the sky.
Lhiannonth> On the ground below, Matheny walks down the short flight of steps from the weyrleader ledges. Lhiannonth senses that Taralyth sees -her- begin to move - and quickly, pre-emptively takes to the sky, for all that he then slows to watch her fly. Lhiannonth> In the sky, to the west, Iosketh disappears into Between. Lhiannonth> Taralyth has arrived. Lhiannonth> You backwing to a neat landing on in the feeding grounds. Lhiannonth> Feeding Grounds, High Reaches Weyr(#570RJas) Lhiannonth> The wall of the ancient caldera arches upward and outward in a graceful curve here at the eastern edge of the bowl, where the weyr's flocks and herds are corralled for the dragons to feed upon. The air here is relentlessly dusty due to the the lack of true pasture necessitated by Thread; what little grass does manage to grow is either grazed or well trampled by the herdbeasts. Cow herdbeasts lead their calves to drink the clear water of a tongue of the weyr lake which extends into these fenced off grounds, and feeding troughs ring the perimeter of the paddocks. A group of wherry hens, wings clipped, squawk noisily under the natural overhang which shelters the creatures during bad weather; the wherries' cries reverberate against the stone walls around you. Behind you is the gate that leads west, back to the bowl proper. Lhiannonth> In the sky directly above, Taralyth circles once, twice, gauging those amber-gilt wings' path before choosing his own prey and _striking_. Lhiannonth> Taralyth has arrived. Lhiannonth> In the bowl, Jenryth lumbers down the short flight of steps from the weyrleader ledges.
Lhiannonth> In the bowl, Matheny hops up onto Jenryth's back, using her straps as handholds. Lhiannonth> In the sky directly above, Jenryth leaps into the sky from the ground below.

Western Bowl, High Reaches Weyr(#880RJs) Standing on the western side of the bowl, the high crownlike spires of the Seven Spindles on the north wall tower magestically above the roughly ovoid bowl floor. Near you, a large boulder stands, placed almost exactly in the center of the bowl. This side of the bowl is busy with the constant flow of residents and visitors around the entrance to the living cavern to the southwest and the lower caverns to the west. To the north, the large opening on the upper wall leading into the hatching grounds catches your eye. Directly below it, the ground entrance to the same area seems almost tiny. Northwest, the weyrs belonging to the junior queens of High Reaches are accessible from a short set of stairs and a path of carefully laid black marble leads from them to the entrance to the living cavern. To the south, a few ground weyrs remain unoccupied, in case any visiting or injured dragons need them. The evening is clear, not a cloud to be seen, giving you a perfect view of the stars. The smaller Belior winks as a waxing crescent while Timor shines in half moon. There seems to be a light breeze and the fall air is pleasantly warm. HRW-LC> Divya gobbles down a meatroll and an apple. She needs a base for energy later on, one way or the other. She casts a dirty look at the various other riders in the room but doesn't say anything. She just follows Josilina outside. Above the bowl, to the east, Dzurath rises up into the sky from the ground below. Divya strides out of the living cavern. Divya has arrived. A'rus wanders out of the living cavern. A'rus has arrived. In the feeding grounds, Lhiannonth's decent down into the pens is very abrupt- almost blunt really. Talons extended, she swipes and slashes at a herdbeast who should've really moved just a second earlier. She spares the assembled male dragons one long, rather annoyed look before she bends over her kill. The gold hesitates however, head hovering over the felled 'beast, tail lashing in agitation as the ever traditional fight of wills takes place, Lhiannonth utterly a low almost-hiss before she resentfully sets to sucking at the animal's blood. HRW-LC> P'tod's eyes brighten a touch. "There she goes!" And there he goes, after. P'tod meanders out of the living cavern. P'tod has arrived.
I'sai strolls out of the living cavern. I'sai has arrived.
HRW-LC> Melata watches everyone go and comments, "As if it isn't a big surprise, the way she is glowing and the dragon gossip going around. Better go out and watch, I guess." Flight sense that Lhiannonth oohs. Behold the double-spam. Let's head for the ground weyrs relatively quickly then?
Konnevath bespoke Flight with « I agree! »
HRW-LC> Kalina nods at Melata. "Might as well watch the start of it and perhaps the finish.....and then get the wineskins ready.."
Flight sense that Semeth seconds, ayup. :)
Taralyth bespoke Flight with « Great! » Flight sense that Araneidth thirds! Kalina walks out of the living cavern. Kalina has arrived. Lamorna strides out of the living cavern. Lamorna has arrived. In the feeding grounds, Araneidth bugles to Lhiannoth as she finally arrives. If she knew how long he's awaited her! Respectfully, he allows her the first kill, almost bowed to her as he observes her grace in distinct awe. It takes a few long moments before the mammoth brown finally snaps out of his spell and realizes that he must feast in honor of this great lady as well. So said, he abruptly springs into the sky and swoops around a corner of the pens, web-strewn mahogany hide dark against the whiteish sky. A moment later, he drops without warning down upon a fat herdbeast male, using his enormous bulk to utterly crush the beast. Josilina comes to a halt near the bowl, eyes narrowed in the general direction of the feeding grounds. She hisses something that sounds a lot like, "Blood it." Before tossing the following maleriders a quick glance and hurrying towards the ground weyrs. You walk up the stone steps onto the ledge of the ground level guest weyr. Ground Level Guest Weyr(#480RJs) The ledge at the front of the guest weyr commands an imposing view over the bowl to the north. A flight of stone steps links the ledge to the floor of the bowl. The ledge catches the evening light. The weyr is lit by a few glows. You can make out a couch, big enough for most dragons to rest comfortably on, and next to it an alcove containing a cot and press for the accompanying rider. Although this weyr is not permanently occupied, it is kept tidy by the women of the lower caverns, and a pitcher of water and a bowl of fruit bear witness to its constant state of ready welcoming. Obvious exits: Sky STairs A'rus walks up the stone steps from the the bowl floor. A'rus has arrived.
Divya walks up the stone steps from the the bowl floor. Divya has arrived.
P'tod stalks in, his eyes alight with a boyish kind of glee, and his body taut with anticipation. He takes the time to shed his jacket and other accoutrements, so that he'll be warm enough but not too hot in regular winter clothes, and drops the pile near the entrance. Then he casts about the room for the best place from which to observe, and hopefully participate in, the spectacle to come.
Lhiannonth senses that Taralyth's a glitter of wild-humored encouragement here, too - not close, not yet, just in thoughts' periphery: drink, savor, _blood_. Once, twice, again: that's right. Show them all.
Josilina scurries in, trying to keep ahead of the others it seems. Those who follow are given a somewhat dark look as she stations herself in one of the corners, the one opposite from the bed. One last look and she sort of...vanishes, in the depths of her cloak. Handy thing, that.
Lhiannonth> You rise up into the sky. Lhiannonth> Sky High in the Bowl, High Reaches Weyr Lhiannonth> As you soar high above the bowl, you find yourself at a most unique point in the sky; here, near the lip of the bowl, the southeast is fully visible - the open sky stretches to the Western Mountain Range. Behind you, though, to the northwest, you can catch only occassional glimpses of the landscape through the spaces between the Seven Spindles. Through the first and second spires, you can see out to the mountains surrounding the weyr. If you know just where to look, you can also glimpse part of the winding road leading to the Weyr. Ledges are hewn into the rock face in all directions, each with a dragon's weyr behind it. The winds here are usually calm, with the protection of the Weyr's walls to keep the worst gusts at bay. Still, flying can be a little difficult as an errant thermal sometimes crosses the bowl. Lhiannonth> Views: Weyrs Lhiannonth> Obvious exits: Lhiannonth> Lower Western Sky Lower Eastern Sky Star Stones Up Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Taralyth vents a last all-but-sneeze on the heels of that shriek, and what remains of the plumes go flying, fluttering soft as snowflakes as he leaps up and through them and _beyond_. Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Taralyth launches into the sky. Lhiannonth> Taralyth has arrived. Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Semeth leaps! And he's in the air, and his wings pump, and he rises, and the other dragons are swirling around, and it's that first delightful moment of a dawning adventure. He flies! After Lhiannonth. Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Semeth rises effortlessly into the sky. Lhiannonth> Below you, to the east, Semeth wings upward in the bowl sky. Lhiannonth> Semeth has arrived. Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Konnevath has no time to congratulate himself on Lhiannonth's acceptance of his gift, for she has taken to the night sky! Bugling angrily at the other males and the snow trying to block his vision he leaps into the air after her! Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Konnevath rises effortlessly into the sky. Lhiannonth> Below you, to the east, Konnevath rises up in the bowl sky. Lhiannonth> Konnevath has arrived.
Lhiannonth> In the feeding grounds, Araneidth leaps into the sky.
Divya sits down on the bed. Since Josilina won't use it, no reason she can't be comfortable. She pours herself some more klah and drinks it down, using the warm to keep the winter air out of her bones.
Lhiannonth> Lhiannonth seems quite intent on gaining some altitude- first things first you know. Long wings pull her forward steadily, males ignored for the time being. Her hide shines faintly in the growing dark, and a caught air current aids her upward flight. At the base of all the proddy induced emotion and one-track flight mindset, is the driving knowledge that higher and farther is a good thing. And, of course, the ever popular mantra, 'Nyeah, nyeah, you can't catch me, I'm the gingerb-er- proddy queen!' Lhiannonth> Semeth's first moments of flight are giddy and gleeful, and he sways from this side to that in the sky, disrupting the flight patterns of a pursuer or two. But as Lhiannonth climbs so resolutely, he settles, clear-lidding his eyes against the snow that stings at this speed, and finding a steady pattern of wingbeats that gives him altitude, too. If he can't quite reach her, yet, at least he can prevent her rising irrevocably far from him. Lhiannonth> Taralyth, near the forefront of the crowd despite more agile browns' soon speeding faster, initially flies with wingbeats kept close-cropped by the chill wind and the other males' nearness; only slowly does the ichor-fuelled warmth make its way through those long pinions, smoothing his flight, lengthening it to try and match what he can see of glowing Lhiannonth's pace. Snow-frosted, radioactive gingerbread - imagine the aunties' tales! Lhiannonth> One sun has set, but another has risen. It is Lhiannoth's light indeed that guides Araneidth, a golden beacon through the grim snow and clouds surrounding them. Again enchanted, one can almost see the shine of her radience reflected in his eyes, a whirling mixture of eager reds and loving purples of admiration. For her, though, he will save his aggression. Strategically, he allows himself to drop to the very back of the pack of males, maintaining only a leisurely sort of rythem to his wingbeats. He will save his full strength for when Lhiannonth needs him later. Lhiannonth> Konnevath's oversized wings come in handy. He follows the golden lady of his dreams higher and higher. He's in the middle of the pack, and that's good enough for now. Let the younger dragons tire themselves out quickly--he's here for the whole game! Lhiannonth> Lhiannonth is apparently satisfied with her newly gained height, as she levels off. She can't help flaunting this new freedom of sorts however, swerving from side-to-side, clearly enjoying every moment of it. And the attention of all those males doesn't hurt either- though they are of course, wimpy little tag-a-longs. Right. She even lets them know that, curling her head about to bugle out in their general direction before she turns her attention to her flying again. It seems to be the spindles she's headed towards, clouds blurring her form as she passes through them.
P'tod's awareness flicks back to the room, for just a moment, and he shoots a disapproving look at Divya, on the bed. But then it's back to admiring what he can see of Josilina and communing with his dragon. His eyes grow distant, again, and he's with Semeth in flight.
Lhiannonth> Araneidth replies with a mighty roar, one that seems to bounce from the spires as his dark form is momentarily shrouded in the mists. He emerges, ever-watchful, eyes still locked on the guiding light of Lhiannonth, trailing like a falling star across the bowl sky. His amber wings pump powerfully so that he may turn in her general direction, but still he refuses to waste his energy on any slick moves as other rival browns seem to be doing. Perhaps it will be his undoing, or perhaps it will save him in the end. Lhiannonth senses that Taralyth's presence - bright starlight to the clouded night - abruptly sharpens to focus on her maneuver: crowded territory, dangerous territory, he has to _focus_ and not crash, and see if he can catch her scent on the wind -
Not I'sai's knee - but her voice does register, and he runs a hand over the prickles at the nape of his neck and follows it. Not far. Just a few steps. There's room, still, room to run. P'tod lets out a slow breath, and tugs absently at his clothing. Hot. His face is flushed. He flicks a glance at that rider who ventured too close, and moves in, himself. He's not nearly as close as the closest, but he doesn't want to be shut out. Divya doesn't even see P'tod's disapproving glance. She's wrapped up in holding herself under control and trying to keep track of both the weyr and the flight above. She absently drinks some more klah, not even noticing that what's in the mug is barely lukewarm.
Semeth bespoke Flight with « Sorry, just to clarify - did she go through, or is she still inside the bowl? » Lhiannonth bespoke Flight with « She never went through the spindles- still in the bowl. Sorry about that, it wasn't clear. » Semeth bespoke Flight with « No prob. Thanks :) »
Lhiannonth> Yes, a lot of the males are confused. Semeth slows his flight, edging this way and that to avoid a collision, and keeping his eyes locked on Lhiannonth. When she finally abandons her maneuvering for a dive, he follows, his jaw opening in glee (and to suck in breath for faster flight) -- down, after her, for soon a chance may arise to make her his - or if not, at least the farther down they fly, the less there will be of cloud to obscure her. Lhiannonth> Choices, choices: with the dubious luxury of distance, Taralyth _chooses_ to cut through rather than match most of her maneuvers, though instinct flutters distractingly at his wingtips with every circle and twist to make following not quite as fluid as it might have been. But as others fall, what might have been bugled triumph silences as her route seems to steady toward the clouds; when he follows, more warily than Araneidth, it's as quietly as exertion-roughened breath allows: the better to seek with every sense and, perhaps, to find. Lhiannonth> Konnevath likes games. His position allows him to follow the queen more or less, and not waste energy in matching her moves exactly. He also skirts the spindles and avoids a collision with an exhausted brown dragon to stay on Lhiannonth's trail. He uses his tail for balance to increase his speed slightly, deftly maneuvering around a big bronze lump from Fort Weyr. Flight sense that Lhiannonth is thinking catch poses after this next pose? How's that sound to people? Semeth bespoke Flight with « Sounds good to me. :) » Araneidth bespoke Flight with « Sounds perfect to me. (Is a westerner and has dinner soon) :) » Taralyth bespoke Flight with « Sure! » Flight sense that Konnevath likes that plan. Lhiannonth senses that Taralyth plays - but with the stakes as yet not seeming all or nothing, with her as yet still gilded, for-once-gingery, gingerbread-bright, he'll risk clouds rather than stone, wind rather than spikes.
Lhiannonth bespoke Flight with « Ok, catch poses now :) And thank you /all/ for coming- you've made my first flight a great deal of fun! Thanks bunches! » Taralyth bespoke Flight with « Thanks for hosting us! It's been a pleasure. » Flight sense that Cyrath waves pompoms.
Lhiannonth> Slowly, ever so slowly, Araneidth has been creeping up through the pack. But now, as he sees his rivals, brown and bronze, beginning to tire and drop away, he realizes that he, too, will not be able to dance forever in the golden path Lhiannonth has been weaving him. It is only now that this prince charming in dragon form calls uppon the energy he has been saving, pushing forward with a new burst of strength. He boldly dives beneath a trio of bronzes and comes up in front of them, flicking here, and then there, weaving his way through the pack as intricately as a crawler weaves its web. But then, in a flash, she is there! And then she's gone. A golden butterfly that teases him. At last, he takes his chance, and tries to push past Semeth, Konnevath and Taralyth in one swift thrust. Through the clouds, the massive brown dives, sleek as a shipfish, forearms outstretched. A final, longing cry is given to Lhiannonth as he makes his grab for her. He is here! Allow him to make you truely soar! Lhiannonth senses that Semeth floods your awareness with his admiration, his respect, his joy in flight and his longing that his flight be joined with yours! « Be mine » are the only words that form in his mind, serving as anchor for the flood of feeling that all but overwhelms him. Flight sense that Araneidth adds his thanks. What a challenging flight! It's been great! :} Flight sense that Semeth thanks as well. I've thoroughly enjoyed it. :)
Lhiannonth> Konnevath is NOT going to be beaten out at this point! The gold's antics have tired her, and the extra blood he drank has paid off. He still has energy to spare, and the brushing wingtip warns him that now is his chance! He pumps his wings as hard as he can, reaching out with neck, tail and croon to entice the gold into permitting him to catch and protect her. Lhiannonth senses that Taralyth'd ward the others off if he could - but at the very least seeks to open out air, to give that sweetness, that wildness a home - all or nothing, this moment, this night.
P'tod gasps slightly, reaching out with open hands to grasp at the air. A'rus murmurs something softly, gently, reaching longingly towards the grey bundle on the far wall. Flight sense that Lhiannonth just wants to say again what a great job everyone did- you all made this a /really/ tough decision, and it was really really close!
P'tod goes down the stone stepps into the floor of the bowl P'tod has left. <=HRW=> Amilin says, "Is :)" <=HRW=> R'don says, "i'sai" <=HRW=> Alaida says, "Woo!" Lhiannonth> Semeth dives in the bowl, towards the western wall. Lhiannonth> Semeth has left. Lhiannonth> Araneidth suddenly jerks and rears up backwards, as if being struck through the chest by a large arrow. He lets out a despairing and heartbroken cry, something shrill and terrible, then abruptly spirals down towards the bowl in defeat, movements now having lost all their grace and becoming lethargic and droopy instead. Lhiannonth> Araneidth circles lower in the bowl, towards the western wall. Lhiannonth> Araneidth has left. Lhiannonth> Konnevath bugles loudly, tail and neck crumpling in defeat. He wails his sorrow to the world, spiraling lower and lower toward the ground. Lhiannonth> Konnevath circles lower in the bowl, towards the western wall. Lhiannonth> Konnevath has left. Divya hastily vacates the bed, taking her klah with her. What's left of it, that is. A'rus must be mirroring his dragon, for he suddenly chokes and stumbles, crumpling to his knees. "Nooooo!" he wails, before abruptly skittering out of the weyr. So much for goodbyes. Divya walks down the stone steps into the floor of the bowl. Divya has left. A'rus goes down the stone steps into the floor of the bowl. A'rus has left.
