What: Thieves steal Keogh's summer tithe.
Where: Nabol Area
When: Month 8-9, Turn 36

In light of the upheaval elsewhere on the continent, Nabol's quietness through month 8 has seeded a false sense of security. With sweeps having grown lax over the area and less precautions taken by locals, it's no wonder the thieves seized upon the opportunity offered them on D1 M9 T36. Despite the guard placed on Keogh Holds small but significant tithe train heading for Nabol Hold, the thieves attacked, reportedly in number, and plundered the train. They left injured (and some dead) in their wake and made off with the majority of the tithe as their spoils. As soon as the quickest runner reached the nearest outpost, the drums spoke, carrying the news farther afield. By then, of course, the thieves had already spirited away with their loot and the manhunt is renewed on both sky and ground.

Initial reports claimed two casualties, confirmed by Nabol later in the week as seasoned guards in the retinue. The names are making their rounds in the usual places of Nabol, but are missing from the official reports, for whatever reason. The official response has been for both Hold and Weyr to refresh their high alert, doubling up on sweeps once more and sending guards from the Hold proper to patrol the most travelled routes on runnerback. Both forces are investigating any leads for hiding spots and systematically eliminating any safe harbors the thieves might have. With so much effort being put forth, it can't be much longer until they're found. Then again, how /does/ a whole tithe wagon go missing without so much as a solid clue to follow.

Even odder, Alpine's presence in Nabol is decreased, with Iceberg taking up a more stable position in regards to patrolling skywards. No word from the Weyr or either Wingleaders signify the change, but the sedulous hand of Iceberg's H'vier can be felt throughout the region.
