As Weyrhealer, Madilla was, of course, included in the deliberations of the crafters. She didn't want the position: it was another responsibility, another burden, and didn't she have enough of those already?

Besides, everyone else seemed determined to act like children with their schemes and proposals, and-- no, she wanted nothing to do with that.

Poor Aishani, she thought, rubbing at her temples. She's going to regret having to listen to one of them.

The thing was, it was a good idea. A really good one, in her opinion. But it had to be done properly, or it wouldn't be worth a thing. And the way it looked at the moment, as far as the loudest of the voices were concerned...

Which wasn't to say that she was the only one sitting around the edges. There were enough of them - enough that they could have formed a voting block of their own, the quiet ones. Madilla wondered if maybe they shouldn't do just that: pick someone, vote, and be done with it.

Perhaps she'd have words with a few people. Perhaps they could, between them, come up with someone.

One turn term limit, decided by popular vote amongst the Journeyman, only the most senior of each craft permitted to stand (or their chosen delegate). Maybe that will work.

Maybe. Anything to stop all of this bickering.

Anything.
