In spite of the hour, Lia managed to find S'varis in the Snowasis and convince him to help (through his dragon) bring a large tub of steaming hot springs water up to her weyr. She had a harder time convincing him to leave with a request for one of the lower caverns women, but turns of experience with brief smiles and repetitive politeness worked. Eventually. And once alone, she stripped herself (finally realizing she'd forgotten to button her shirt up -- oh) and sank into the steaming water.

Why did I ask him to help?

She envied K'del his punch, but found it hard to want to harm N'rov. It wasn't his fault he'd made a mistake turns ago. Unless he knew she'd been a Vijay from the start, but that kind of intelligence and savvy seemed like it might be foreign in the Fortian bronzerider's general affability and goofiness. You're mixing them up. Damnit.

The bleed between dragon and rider got particularly bad around the time Daehyeth went proddy and despite her best efforts, Lia found it incredibly difficult to compartmentalize her thoughts enough to weed out Daehyeth's experiences and emotions with her own. Even now, as she sank her shoulders beneath the water, she could feel the chilled gusts of the spring night as her dragon sluiced through the air with her new playmate.

Shutting Daehyeth and her flying antics out, Lia wept, the steam masking her tears. The green would notice eventually, but for now, was quite enthralled with Vhaeryth. A balled up fist found the side of the basin and slammed into it repeatedly until her knuckles turned raw. She should've stopped then, but kept going until raw had turned to bloodied and started staining her bath water. Then, it ended, the injured hand dropping into the water along with the final stream of the greenrider's tears.

The silence of her weyr was marked by those aftershock shudders that follow torrential crying all too often, until those too, finally dissipated.

The water was cooler now. She finished washing herself, scrubbing her body vigorously, dried herself, and then clothed herself in something night-appropriate. She applied some herbal remedy to under her eyes (to mask the swolleness), and prettied her face up again. Finally, she studied her hand dispassionately, and wound a white cloth around it carefully, after which she slipped both hands into a pair of fine sisal gloves.

Ask him to come back. That I've changed my mind.

And of course he came back, he always did. They chatted. They smiled. They shared a bottle of wine and he lit the hearth for her. This is why I asked him to help. This is how he helps.

They fit together in ways the Fortian couldn't even dream of.

At least that's what she told herself before just giving in, letting someone else help wash away the stink.
