| From the sands> S'rist has arrived. Amilin clears her throat again, "Quickly now." Kariel smiles to Dhinara, "Certainly." From the sands> S'rist strides out across the sands over to join Matheny by her side. "They're about to come out." Emilly squeezes Carianna's fingers, gently, and nods. Redus smiles at Ebb and nods. "Sure. If you'd like." Talgor runs up to Medron and quickly asks, "Do you still need a partner, Medron?" Sria nods and brings an arm up to pat, in what hopes to be a reassuring manner, her sister's clutching arm. "Yeah, we'll all be together," she answers. Medron steps closer to Talgor and offers him a slight smile. "Yes," he simply answers in a low voice. Ebbriah lets out a long breath. "Thanks, Redus." She smiles and stands next to him. Synna watches the Weyrleader dissapear, and then spies the little clusters being formed. She stands back and just waits patiently. Dhinara smiles weakly to Kariel in silent thanks while shuffling to her side. Josilina just keeps clinging to her sister like she's a lifeline of some sort. And she's picked up her chanting agian too. "OhnoOhnoOhnoOhno..." N'tan comes up the steps from the bowl. N'tan has arrived. Kariel spots N'tan and smiles to him, "Thank you, N'tan and please thank Zuzith for me?" N'tan nods to Kariel, leaning against a wall. Casmira spots N'tan and waves... Redus chuckles and reaches down to grab Ebbriah's hand. "You're welcome. God luck...and be careful." Mylarran stands in the back of the group not wanting to get in the way. Amilin stands by the passage way and calls out clearly "Tikhen and Tarlon." Tarlon grins sheepishly at Tikhen, looking a little less nervous. "Thanks, Tikh. It's nice to know that even at a time like this, you can still be a sharding wherry." From the sands> Matheny smiles to S'rist in relief, "I think it's about time too, some of the eggs are starting to show cracks." Indeed one of the larger eggs shakes violently in it's place. So. Better to be proactive about this- Tikh grabs for Tarlon's hand, to get it into a brotherly grip, not a loverly one. "That's what older brothers are for- or have you forgotten about Tir?" Another wink, a deep breath, and he's off, hauling Tarlon with him if the lad doesn't want to keep up. Yenne slips up to her brothers. "Hey, good luck you two," she murmurs. "From Temornath too." She looks back to all the Candidates. "And good luck to you all!" Tikhen has left. From the sands> Tikhen has arrived. Synna smiles to the brothers, then nods to Yenne. "Thanks." Mylarran smiles back to Yenne and nods. "thanks." Dhinara reaches for Kariel's hand, if she allows her to take it. Ebbriah sqeezes Redus' hand slightly, and nods. "Likewise!" Tarlon has left. From the sands> Tarlon has arrived. Sria starts to make a small "shh" type of noise, but her voice breaks off to silence after the first beat. She clears her throat softly and can't help but grin at Tarlon's comment, though her eyes continue their rapid shimmer. "Good luck all," she echoes, nodding. Hiriwa sees Casmira still unpaired and edges up beside the other girl. "Pair with me?" she asks softly. Amilin calls the next pair, "Carianna and Emilly" Carianna gives Emilly a hesitant smile then heads out after hearing her name. Carianna has left. From the sands> Carianna has arrived. Emilly has left. From the sands> Emilly has arrived. Casmira looks over at Hiriwa..."Sure, thanks." She moves to stand with the other girl..... Kariel takes Dhinara's hand and squeezes back. Amilin waits for them and calls out, "Ebbriah and Redus" Ebbriah catches her breath slightly, then heads on out. Ebbriah has left. From the sands> Ebbriah has arrived. Redus glances at Amilin, nods and says to Ebb, "Here we go." Redus has left. From the sands> Redus has arrived. Hiriwa pats Casmira's hand and turns to watch Amilin, waiting for their turn. Eshandra comes up the steps from the bowl. Eshandra has arrived. Amilin says "Josilina and Sria."" Sria will simply drag her sister out, should she not keep up, and steps quickly to the passageway. Sria has left. From the sands> Sria has arrived. Josilina squeezes her sisters hand, seeming to calm down, however slow the process is. "Oooh. Sri. I heard they could hurt you. Thats bad. And I couldn't find my sandles. The Sands are hot. Oh it's us!" She's rambling. Hearing her name she just starts towards the passage...or is dragged rather. Josilina has left. From the sands> Josilina has arrived. Talgor looks a little nervous as he stands with Medron, waiting to be called to enter the sands. Amilin says "Hiriwa and Casmira" Hiriwa takes a deep breath and heads out. Hiriwa has left. From the sands> Hiriwa has arrived. Casmira smiles at Hiriwa, takes her hand if she allows it, and heads out..... Medron is almost clinging to Talgor as he's waiting, clutching at his robe a bit less carefully. Casmira has left. From the sands> Casmira has arrived. Amilin says "Talgor and Medron" Medron closes his eyes a second and takes a deep breath. "Let's go..." he tells Talgor. From the sands> A softly dappled green egg trembles, shaking loose the fine grains of sand that cling to it's sides. Medron has left. From the sands> Medron has arrived. Talgor has left. From the sands> Talgor has arrived. From the sands> Dzurath increases his humming up a little louder, his head swinging to look over all the candidates as they march in. From the sands> Casmira looks around as she enters with Hiriwa, and moves to stand the proper distance from the eggs. Amilin says "Kariel And Eshandra" Eshandra has left. From the sands> Eshandra has arrived. Kariel takes a deep breath, swallows and strides purposefully out onto the sands. "No time like right now." From the sands> Talgor arrives with Medron and moves to take his place in the loose groupings. He hops a little bit, surprised by the true heat of the sands on his feet. Amilin nods "Kariel and Dhinara then From the sands> Hiriwa steps out wincing at the heat, her gaze searching the galleries. Where, where... ah, she manages to see her father and waves to him before she turns her attention towards the sands - where it will stay until this is over. Dhinara trembles at her name then takes a deep breath and while clutching Kariel's hand, heads down the passage. High Reaches Weyr Hatching Grounds The sands are stiflingly hot beneath your feet, nearly burning through your footwear and keeping even this large high cavern quite warm. A mound of sand has been gathered up in the center of the cavern, and this is where the queen is laying her eggs, and will watch over them as they harden. Carefully prepared shallow depressions stand ready for the eggs that will soon fill them, while others gently cradle the flaccid eggs carefully deposited in them. Bordering the sands to the south and west are the tiered benches of the galleries. Ledges for spectating dragons jut out from the cavern walls in every direction high above. A dark passageway leads off the sand towards the Senior Queen's weyr. Contents: Eshandra Talgor Medron Casmira Hiriwa Josilina Sria Redus Ebbriah Emilly Carianna Tarlon Tikhen S'rist Matheny Pair of Boots Dzurath Jenryth Sandy Mound Obvious exits: Passageway Galleries Josilina doesn't let her sisters hand go, no matter who is dragging who. "Ahh. Hot!" is her first reaction, and her steps aquire an extra hop-skip sort of bounce, as she goes into the semi-circle. Medron quickly follows Talgor, bouncing from one feet to the other, and almost lets his robe go-though he grasps the loose ends just in time. Dhinara has arrived. Kariel has arrived. Cierra has arrived. Arimyrh has arrived. Ebbriah takes in a sharp breath as the heat of the sands leak through her thin soles. Distantly, she tries to spot her family in the crowd above her as she takes her place, but only finds the size unnerving. "Here we are, Redus," she mumbles, blinking a few times. Mylarran has arrived. Kariel finds a place around near one end of the semi-circle, "You OK here, Dhinara?" Emilly nods to Carianna, whispering back, "So we are," as she takes her place beside her. Sria squeezes Josilina's hand in hers, picking up her feet as she shuffles through the sands, eyes scanning the eggs - some still, some moving. Tikhen and Tarlon, as the first 'pair' out, have the longest walk around, to the furthest point of the ragged semi-circle. And like many of the other Candidates, Tikh's gait is that shuffling 'Hot Sands Hop' that's usually only seen on Hatching Grounds. Dhinara slowly takes her position in the semi-circle and clingint to Kariel's hand. She nods wordlessly at the question with her wide eyes focusing on the eggs. Talgor talking quietly with another of the Candidates about something that's probably pointless. He lifts his feet up to stop the hot sands burning him before the Hatching has even begun. He looks around himself nervously, scratching his shoulder. Synna walks out, paired with Cierra, and gives a little nod of the head towards the Dam and Sire. "Nice..." she says, in regards to the rocking eggs, this being the first time she's seen them up close. Arimyrh steps onto the sands, taking her position but seeming to be a little apart at the same time. Redus grimaces a bit, glancing down at his feet as he steps onto the sands with Ebbriah. The grimace fades and a grin appears when he sees the others. He too takes his place. "Aye. A day at the beach." he says to Ebb. Acrobatic Aerobic Egg has left. Tarlon's step seems almost a counterpoint to Tikh's, except for when both Candidates wind up hopping at the same time, making them look partners in some odd three-legged Sands race. Mylarran finds a spot to stands and glances about to each of his fellow candidated and gives them a nervous smile, and words good luck to them all. Medron slowly looks around, his gaze lingering a bit on each fellow candidate, then he quickly hops as his feet are slowly burning. S'rist has left. S'rist has arrived. Josilina squeezes Sri's hand back, before holding out her other, empty one. "Esha, come over here." she offers, before adding to Ari, "You come stand near us too." She never ceases her hopping and shifting, "Ack, ooh, hot." Mylarran has arrived. Hiriwa takes her place in the growing semi-circle, rocking to and fro in an attempt to avoid her feet getting overheated. "Ouch." she mutters ever so softly to herself. "Hot. Bad as afternoon beaches in Nerat." Acrobatic Aerobic Egg wobbles a bit and stills, then shakes a little harder. It rolls off it's resting peak of sand and stills once more, though the battle's no doubt just begun. Mylarran takes his place. Ebbriah chuckles dryly. "A very hot beach," the girl adds to Redus, though her eyes are scanning the mounds. She keeps hobbling back and forth, making a wallow underneath her feat with each step. One hand raises to motion to Acrobatic Aerobic Egg. "Look there!" she hisses. Kariel takes a moment to turn and look toward the galleries, looking back and forth. She shifts her weight from one foot to the other as she searches, but the sound of the egg rolling brings her attention back to the clutch and the situation on the sands. Casmira looks up at the stands for her parents....and sees them and what must be the entire brood this time. A good dozzen relaives cheering for her, including her brother. She grins at them and waves. Tarlon leans a little closer to Tikhen, his eyes darting up to the Galleries, wagering til the last moment. "2 marks says mom's up there." Dhinara gasps softly as her eyes focus on the wobbling eggs. She finally begins to shift back and forth when the burning heat, of the sands, begins to seep into her sandals. She gives a small, strangled, surprised sound in the back of her throat but otherwise doesn't make a sound. Arimyrh spends a bit more time favoring her feet, though her apparent guise of 'detachment' is betrayed by a fleeting glance towards the rocking eggs. Talgor expresses a bit of amazement as one of the eggs seems to take on more energy in it's efforts to crack. Redus sees the Acrobatic egg practicing it's tumbles and smiles as he nods to Ebbriah. He wriggles his toes in the sand then rocks from heel to toe a few times. Synna finds her place amidst the semi-ring of candidates and just keeps a watchful eye on each of the shells closest to her, making sure she's prepared to dash to the side, if need be. "No bet," Tikh says, scanning the ledges and stands for family and friends, and grinning, briefly, as he sees at least a /few/ familiar faces. But as the eggs wobble, seemingly in danger of rolling right off the mound, his attention snaps back toward them... and Jenryth. And her pair of boots. Amilin has arrived. Medron's jaw drop as he's staring at the Acrobatic egg, and he lets out a low 'ohhh'... And 'outch' as he hops again. Eshandra is already picking one foot up off the sands for as long as the other foot can stand before shifting to the other one to let that foot cool off. Smiling at Josilina, Sria and Arimyrh, she rubs sweaty palms against her robe. S'din moves out onto the sands to stand with Amilin, watching the candidates and awaiting the first impressions. Matheny squeezes S'rist's hand with one sweaty palm and then rests her other hand on her stomach. "Shouldn't be too much longer now." Hard to tell if she means the eggs or her pregnancy. Acrobatic Aerobic Egg wobbles again. Back and forth, describing an ever-widening arc. To the left, then to the right. In the middle of a return trip to the left, it skips a bit. Hops, and shudders to a halt again. Enthusiastic dragonet inside, it might as well proclaim. Josilina grins at the people around her, "Oh! It moved! It's rocking! Like the ones in the practice...except..." she eyes the rocking eggs suspiciously, "They aren't talking. Sri! Did you lie?" It's a very matter-of-fact question. A wary eye is kept on the firestone egg at all times. Amilin waits with her hands clasped behind her back and a small smile as she watches. Tarlon grins, turning to another Candidate nearby, "I think that egg thinks the Sands are bit hot, too." Ebbriah swallows with what looks to be some difficulty. The hot air of the sands getting to her already, as beads of sweat have developed at her temples. With a few more nods and intakes of breaths, she smiles at Redus. "That one really wants out, doesn't it?" Silly question, isn't it? Carianna begins the high stepping dance of feet cooling as she watches the eggs move. Every once in awhile she mentally reminds herself to breath even if the air she takes in is warm too. "Eggs, hatchlings, very sharp claws." She murmurs to herself now as she gaze trains on the moving eggs. Casmira smiles at Hiriwa, and points out the aerobatic egg...."It looks like that one may pop first", she says, shifting her feet. Sria adds her form next to Lina's in the loose cluster, watching the white semi-circle as it grows wider. Her eyes pan to the wiggling, rolling egg, and her fingers tick at the edge of the white fabric as she attempts a smile to the closer candidates. Josilina's accusation does prompt a stiff grin. Synna's eyes shut for a few moments as she tries to keep them moist, defying the heat beating on them. "I bet that Synna continues, "Is a green." Kariel notes the movement of the Weyrlingmaster and she bites her lower lip. She looks as though she starts to say something in his direction, but stops and looks away, back at the eggs. Hiriwa is watching as many eggs as she can manage, her gaze never resting on one for very long. "Yes, with the way it's moving." she agree mildly, casting Casmira a swit, nervy smile. S'rist smiles over at Matheny and slips an arm around her shoulders as he watches the eggs start to really get moving. Tikhen's head jerks up at a shout from the stands, and his grin widens a bit, as he lets go of Tarlon's hand. He mouths something back at the caller, and then takes a deep breath, the hot air parching his mouth as he does so. "Don't forget that they have very sharp claws," he says in his best, patronizing, big-brother manner to both Tarlon and the younger female Candidates standing nearby. Emilly smiles softly, overhearing Carianna's murmuring. She's not quite feeling the heat of the sands yet, but she is scanning the ledges, looking for the people who are special to her. Arimyrh backs up a bit, accidentally stepping on the toes of a nearby candidate, who duly rewards her with a colorful fair of explicatives. Swallowing her pride, and no doubt a fair bit of known explicatives herself, Arimyrh forces herself gto concentrate on the eggs or any sign of a wandering dragonet. Talgor hops from foot to foot, as much because of the heat as because he's eager to see what will happen when the eggs finally start to crack. Redus' eyes travel back and forth as the Acrobatic egg draw it's arch then stops. He chuckles at Ebb's remark then starts moving his feet more. He mouths a word that soon-to-be-hatchling is muttering in there, "Shells." Tarlon rolls his eyes a bit, lifting up his left foot and grabbing hold of it behind him with his left hand to give it a moment to cool before repeating the gesture with his right. "Tes, Tikhen, anything you say, Tikhen." Mylarran looks at Talgor, "Keep still...Don't scare her." Acrobatic Aerobic Egg hasn't cracked yet? Maybe a little more enthusiasm will help. It wobbles, then rolls again. Further away from where it began and fast enough that the next hop might just ... yes! There! A crack! A crack that spiders wider! A bit of shell that falls off. Just. A little. More! Dhinara's eyes flit about from eggs to candidates to dam and sire and finally to the sand at her feet. Nervousness causes her free hand to wring her robe as she siddles closer to Kariel, whos hand she's holding, waiting and watching though remaining silent. Josilina gives her older sister a narrowed eyed Look, "You did didn't you? Sr-i-/a/. You keep doing that! It's not nice!" No, she's just gullible. "Oh-oh-oh-oh, the keep moving! Do you think they're going to hatch?" she asks of Esha and Sri around her, offering Ari an encouraging grin. "It's hopping!" Acrobatic Aerobic Egg is no long whole for an energetic Blue dragonet has hatched. ContentsSnowfield Sonata BlueSweetly spiraling threads of powder blue trill joyously over the silent moonlight and cream expanse of slim hips and lithe shoulders. Faintly, the faded blues drift in curling, thicker ribbons, down the angular forearms, further marring the purity with a soft staccato of steel and lilac dapples like so many footprints in an otherwise untouched snowfield. His limbs are slight and fine boned, his ribs showing as soft ripples under the flawless glow of his faded honey hued hide. Wintry soft shadows with drifts of lavender mingling with blues march exquisitely along the underside of his tail and trim stomach up to his chin where it fades to startling pure hue. A long muzzle with finely crafted features is well accented with sharp bones under the iridescent hide of his face. Muted smudges of faded blue around his eyes, dancing along his cheeks and jaws are crisscrossed with a lattice of brilliant golden lines give him a most artful expression. Each limb ends in sharp black talons; the fingers stained in deep sapphire tones that swiftly melt into the pale overtones of his body. Sleek and thin wings are long and delicate, whispering and sighing with his careful movements. The membrane as thin and transparent as a sheet of ice and when held to the light, their beautiful panes unfurled, hold twisting clusters of golden bits, like caught autumn leaves.
Eshandra's smile grows a little as she glances over to Sria and Josilina, but her attention is pulled to the other side, raising a single brow in the louder candidates direction before her attention returns to the egg just in time to see it crack open around the blue. Talgor jumps up and down a little on the spot, trying to loosen his nerves, he starts wishing some of the candidates around him good luck as the first egg hatches. Kariel gasps as the blue emerges. Ebbriah nods. "Shells," she repeats dully, Tikhen's comment bringing her to even sharper attention, now. Then, as the blue hatches, she lets out a small squeak. "There! Look!" She blinks a few times. "What a /color/ against this sand he is!" Synna snaps her fingers, mustering a grin. "Blue. Well, blues are good." She shakes her sandals, one at a time, dislodging the sand that's caked itself between her toes. Hiriwa was watching too and she gives a little hop herself. "Blue! And a lovely one too." excitement, nerves -- both show in her tone as she searches the other eggs for the next dragonet to appear. Tikhen shuffles his feet a little, his first concession to the heat of the sands, eyes locked on the newly hatched little blue. "Urk," he finally says, and it's half a sigh. "Tarlon, look at that." He'll elbow his brother in the ribs if Tarl isn't fast enough to dodge it. Medron's mouth is widely open as he stares at the blue hatchling. His robe is slowly sliding down but he quickly rearranges it so it will fit for the next few minutes. Redus ohs! silently as the newest dragon on Pern emerges. He doesn't look away as Ebbriah points. "I know..I see." His feet are ignored now -- it's really begun. Josilina lets out a stunned gasp at the arrival of Snowfield blue. "Oh...my...oh...my..." She starts chanting. "Lookit...the lavender spotty bits, againt the blue...oh...my..." She's stunned. She's shocked. She's amazed. She's...almost speechless? Wow. Hop. Mylarran stares wide-eyed at the blue. "He's...he's....wow...." Not even waiting for all the candidates to arrive for its big event, The Blonde Mazurka Egg splits in half, sending a bronze body rolling out and onto his feet. The little fellow gives a creel, impatience in his cry, as he looks over the nearest three young candidates and finds the one who's been whispering to him all along. And the first impression is made to the young man from Sattel Hold. Matheny gives voice to a cheer as the first dragon finally cracks his shell. "Hurrah! A very striking blue!" Dhinara gasps as her eyes fall on the blue dragonet. She finally remembers to shift from foot to foot when the heat gets too much for her feet. Sria squares her shoulders, one hand still closed with Lina's, watching the patterns made by the rolling egg. She gasps a little as it begins to break open, and then breathes, "Oh, look..." Her eyes soak in the Hatchling's appearance and she murmurs to her sister, "Yes, Jos, I believe they /are/ hatching." Tarlon urfs slightly, grinning at the blue. "He's a handsome fella," he says rubbing his ribs. "I kinda hope right now, mom's not watching, though." Casmira ooohs..."And a bronze! Congratulations!" she calls to the boy who won the bronze. She sifts her feet again. Arimyrh's breath catches in her throat, despite herself, in admiration over the blue dragonet. The same nearby candidate whose toes she crunched takes the moment to notice Ari's awe aloud. "Quiet you," she growls, just this side of audible, her eyes flickering, for a moment, towards the galleries. Carianna jumps as the shell breaks free from the blue hatchling. A gasp and oh is heard from her while she watches a bronze closely. "Stay out of its way..." She reminds herself, as she moves from side to side ready to sidestep should the hungry and confused hatchling come her way. Hiriwa says "And there! Bronze! Oh, well done!" She beams at the lucky new impressee before her gaze and attention flicks back to the blue. "I wonder..." Snowfield Sonata Blue did it! And so what if he's a bit dizzy! All that hopping and spinning takes it out of you, you know? At the shouts and rumbles of approval from the dragons and riders, he realizes, at last, that he's not alone. He lifts his head, stretches his legs and stumbles -- walking isn't as easy as it looks, forward to sprawl ungracefully away from the shards of his shell. Right. Well. He'll just start over. Ebbriah lets out a short laugh. "Right, of course you do. Oh, just look at him though!" she enthuses, wonder clearly written over her expression-only increasing as the bronze impresses. Belatedly, she recalls her very hot feet and starts shifting again. Talgor swallows and watches the first impression happen, everything even more exciting than he had imagined. "Uhuh, yeah, yeah," Tikh says, obviously not listening any more as he watches that first Impression of the little bronze. "Congratulations!" he adds his voice to the chorus of Candidate voices celebrating the newest rider on Pern. Attention then goes back to the blue still on the Sands, as he runs his fingers through his hair. Medron widely grins at the first impression, trying to catch Talgor's gaze and he's still rocking on his feet. HIs attention is quickly back on the blue... Josilina promptly pokes her sister at the first Impression of the Hatching. "Sri! He was from Sattel! I think I met him once when we went there one time!" Oooh. Ahh. Her feet shuffle in the sand, hothothot, just kicking more on them. "Hottt. Look! He moved! He fell!" Oh the excitment. Synna doesn't seem to catch the bronze impression. By the time she turns about when a few shouts of congratulations are called, but the pair are hidden from view by a group of white-clad candidates. She turns her attentions back to the blue, since she can manage to catch glimpses of him between the unhatched eggs. Tarlon glowers now at Tikhen, playfully though, switching his feet again, leaning this way and then that. "You made me miss the bronze, who'd he go for," he says, craning his head this way and that. Redus catches sight of the bronze that goes and immediately Impresses. "That was fast..He was fast." He checks his feet, they still move. "Don't get too deep there, Ebb." he warns in a whispers as he sidesteps to find a cooler spot. His gaze follows the blue, up and down. He smiles at that. The Radical Rumba Egg sunders under internal pressures, falling into several large pieces as a brightly colored blue pokes his head and wings up through the cracks. After a moment of indecision, he stumbles in amongst the candidates, snuffling at more than a dozen before settling on a tall girl from Ogren Hold. Much to her delight from the almost instant tears that stream down her cheeks as she wraps her arms around the blue's neck. Emilly offers congratulations to the candidate impressing bronze, and turns to follow the young blue for a bit. "Handsome," she murmurs, interested, but not gushing. Casmira smiles..."Poor blue. He'll figure it out, though." She looks around to see what will hatch next, switching from foot to foot. Sria traces the bronze to Impression and utters an awed "wow", and another as the girl from Ogren Impresses. Still warily watching the blue, she winces slightly as she lifts one foot hesitantly, hopping onto the other and back again as the heat penetrates her slim sandals. Matheny fumbles into her pocket for a moment until she finally finds her handkerchief, hatchings make her misty eyed these days. Kariel smiles and cheers a bit for the girl with her new blue lifemate. Her cheers don't last long as she has to shuffle her feet for a bit. She's been ignoring them in all the excitement and now they are demanding some relief from the hot sands. Arimyrh stifles a laugh as the initial blue loses his footing. On second-thought, she sets her features more somber, as if she is attending a death march. Curiosity forces her hazel-green eyes to stray to follow the forms of the departing 'weyrlings'. Ebbriah calls out a congrats before mimicking Redus and changing her position, finding a new patch of sand to pulverize further under her moving feet. "Ow ow..." she continues, though her eyes are fixated on the chaotic happenings around her. Amidst all the chaos of the Hatching, it's easy to miss things. Near the back of the clutch, Dirty Dirty Dancing Egg has been rocking quietly for some time. Now it cracks, without any fanfare, and a pale blue head peeks out. Without making much noise or fuss about it, the little blue flops out onto the sand, emits a single creel, and then wobbles his way over to one of the smallest, mousiest girls among the Candidates. Impression! S'rist smiles and slips his arm around Matheny's shoulders, "Brings back memories, doesn't it?" Snowfield Sonata Blue is up again, see? And he's just fine. He's just fine, and moving. Right foreleg, left hind. Left foreleg -- no, no, not the wing. Foreleg, then hind leg. It's while he's working that at that he notices that among the shouts and rumbles, among the other eggs, there are people! White-robed people! And so -many- of them! He stumbles toward them, picking up speed as he goes. Carianna managed to dart out of the path of the impressing blue and girl then smiles brightly to both as she regains her footing and continues to guard herself from the other moving hatchlings. Casmira cheers and congratulates the girl from Ogren, and the second girl. Shifting her feet, she moves back a bit to stay clear of the oncoming blue. Tikhen answers, "That guy. You know, the one from some hold somewhere." He continues craning his neck to get a better view of the eggs and what they're doing. To the Candidate on his other side, he says, kindly enough, "Look, d'you want to stand in front of me so you can see a bit better? It's not any hotter up here than where you a...." And that's when the mousy little girl Impresses. "/Congratulations/." He sounds absolutely sincere. Ebbriah shakes her head and giggles as the blue makes his way around. "How sweet!" she grins, before nodding and admitting: "Never thought /that/ girl'd impress-" indicating the latest impression for a small blue. Jubilant Jade Jitterbug Egg rocks a bit, tipping from one long end to the other in an almost hypnotic sort of movement, elegant and gentle. Then it pauses for a few moments before resuming its rocking, only very gradually picking up a bit of speed and momentum along the way. Redus steps more to the side as another blue snuffles him and moves on. He smiles at the tall girl briefly then looks for the blue that's still trying to get his legs. "They're coming fast now." he remarks as another blue finds his lifemate. Still that one tho and here he comes. Redus moves again. Arimyrh peers gallery-wards again, as if she contemplates dashing from her current position to their relative safety as the Snowfield blue comes racing nearer. Talgor watches the blue and says to Medron, "Didn't he hatch out of that egg that was your favorite?" His eyes never leave the young dragon. Hiriwa turns this way and that, edgily looking to see just who Impresses. "More blues?" she queries, not entirely sure since there were candidates between her and them. "Oh well done!" she calls to the mousy girl before eyeing the still wandering blue cautiously. Sria rubs the palm of her free hand against her side, pressing the pad of her index finger in a line down the material of her robe. As the mousy candidate Impresses, she prods her sister and calls out a stiff, "Well done," returning an intense gaze to the Snowfield Sonata Blue, and then to the other rocking eggs. "So many," she murmurs. Eshandra isn't quite sure what to watch first as her eyes dart about from one rocking egg to another to the newly impressed pair to her new friends and back to the eggs. She eyes the pair of sandals on one candidate with an almost wistful expression before her eyes catch the green impressing. Grinning, she looks at the blue again as he stumbles along. A steady thumbing noise comes from the center of the clutch, sounding like someone is trying to get out of the Vivid Jive Egg through the bottom, beating against the sands and just putting a few cracks up into the sides. The beating is enough though, and the top, unbroken part of the egg falls to the side revealing a warmly colored brown with a long tail. The long tailed brown heads around two unhatched eggs straight at one of the candidates near the end of the semi-circle, bugling right in the laughing boy from Pars Hold's face as an impression is made. Medron is still looking around, trying to get everything in a single glance, then jumps as Talgor is speaking to him. "Er, maybe," he stammers, smilin gfaintly though. "They all semm so beautiful!" Josilina lets out a delighted call of, "Congratulations!" As the mousy girl Impresses. "She had chores with me a lot! She was nice." She remarks cheerily, hopping from foot to foot. Her eyes go back to the blue, "He's pretty. He's learning to walk too!" The Jitterbugs movement doesn't escape her notice and she grins, "More pretty!" Synna keeps track of the blue, all the while rocking back and forth on her heels. Her hands remain clasped together behind her back. Casmira congratulates the boy who got the brown, and keeps a warry eye on that wandering blue. Mylarran keeps an eye on the blue, "You can do it..." Kariel watches the brown come toward the end of the semi-circle. She holds her breath and squeezes Dhinara's hand for a bit, but it passes her by. She smiles for the boy from Pars and calls out her congratulations. Jubilant Jade Jitterbug Egg is still rocking back and forth, though the tempo is hardly hypnotic at this point. This egg is rocking harder and harder, as the dragonet inside pushes methodically at the shell in an effort to escape. All of a sudden, the egg's rocking pushes it out of its little sand wallow and sends it spinning. Snowfield Sonata Blue has gotten started, and now it seems he might not stop. Right leg, left fore, a wing! No, that's not good. Too fast, too far forward. Down he goes again, skidding a bit, neck stretched out and wings askew. He lifts his head, gives it a good shake and peers up at the watching candidates. Wait. There. That one. Whirling eyes on a boy in a robe that's poorly fitted, he gathers himself to his feet again, and approaches, much more slowly. Ebbriah turns her head this way and that, trying to follow the fast-paced action. Her feet, too, keep re-climbing the mini dunes that they make everytime she shifts her weight. The Snowfield Sonata Blue takes a closer look at a tall boy with very light blue eyes and unruly hair. One egg makes two sudden rolls out from its warm spot in the mound. Then with a crack, The Naughty Strip Tease Egg breaks apart to reveal a dashing young blue with dark stripes of blue along his wings. He gives a pleased warble with his performance and struts quite ably down to a young girl from Riverbend Hold, who seems to understand why he's headed her way, as she takes the last few steps to meet him as the impression is made. Dhinara squeezes Kariel's hand back, but doesn't look away from the eggs and hatchlings. She seems to be holding her breath, only to remmeber what she's doing, then lets the breath go in a rush. She minces her feet back and forth, mindless mostly, of the heat unless on a subconscious level. Tikhen steps backward a step or two as the Jade Jitterbug Egg looks like it's in danger of rolling right off the mound and out the entranceway. "Hey, Tarl. If an egg comes this way, it'll smush you like a griddle cake, so don't forget to dodge out of the way." Entirely unneccesary advice- he wipes his palms surrepitously against his robe. Arimyrh heaves a sigh, though it is difficult to ascertain whether it tells of relief or disappointment as her eyes remain trained to the Snowfield Blue, despite the rapid arrival of others to the sands. Sria lifts one foot and rubs the wherhide arch of the sandal against the opposite heel, in a nervous gesture. Her lips crinkle into a smile at the brown Impression near the other end of the line, and her gaze switches between rocking eggs and the blue hatchling nearby. Redus watches a brown blur by, keeps watching that Snowfield Sonata Blue and checks the eggs to see where he's gotta look again. This is like a bad day in the stables. He ohs as he notices that Blue's direction, but is drawn by the Riverbend Hold girl's introduction to her new friend. He smiles again. Matheny takes a step forward, pulling S'rist a little with her as she tries to tell who the Blue impressed to in that cluster of young male candidates. Carianna's attention is divided for a moment as she keeps her eyes on hatchlings then focuses on the one closer to the group she stands with as the blue heads towards the males. Step, shake, lower, goes one foot only to be followed by the other. Casmira cheers for the girl who got the blue, "Well done!" Then she smiles at Hiriwa..."There are lots left yet." S'rist lets himself be pulled along, he's not leaving her side. M'dron blinks a couple of times then bites his lower lips and kneels before his dragon. "Oh Fjornth!" he says softly, looking at Talgor briefly. Ebbriah calls out brightly. "Congratulations!" she cries over the heat, the noise, the eggs, and the dragonets to Me-er-M'dron. Her smile seems fit to split her face. Talgor gasps and then shouts a loud cheer for his friend M'dron and his new lifemate. "Congrats!" Casmira grins..."Look, it's Me...M'dron! Well done M'dron!" Hiriwa whoops suddenly as she sees the blue take a close close look at Someone. "Oh please! Please, yes, dooooo." And she watches with her breath held, to see if the snowfield blue has Impressed. "Medron!" She squeals in delight. "Fjornth. Perfect." And she beams at everyone within sight. Josilina has given up trying to keep up with her calling out congratulations, instead just grinning their way...anyones way, and hopping. Lots of hopping. "What's he doing? He slowed down!" She exclaims about the Snowfield blue, rising to her tiptoes, just to shift off them again. "Medron! Sria! Esha! Medron got one! Congratulations!" As if they couldn't see with their own eyes. Synna smiles brightly, spotting Medron with the blue. "Fjor... Fjornth? Good name! Congratulations." Kariel smiles and cheers, "Med...er...M'dron! Congratulations!" Emilly ohs softly, and adds her voice to those congratulating M'dron. Redus thinks he heard Medron and turns, only to confirm. "Congrats, M'dron!" But he hasn't the time for anything else as scans the sands for anything not in a robe. Some people...and dragons...come into the world quietly, and some don't. The Stately Saraband Egg doesn't so much crack as it shatters, shards of shell flying everywhere. The burly brown hatchling inside emits a self-righteous squawk, as if to say, "THAT'LL teach you a lesson!" With that piece of business out of the way, he shambles out onto the sand, falls on his snout, and squawks indignantly again. One of the candidates, a gangly girl with red hair, hurries over to help right him...and cries out in joy as he looks into her eyes and Impression is made. Sria lets out a breath as Medron - now M'dron - Impresses. "Oh, wow, congratulations," she calls, and reverting her gaze back to the wobbling eggs. Mylarran grins, "Congrats M'dron!" Tikhen cries, "Well done, M'dron!" He nearly drips over the honorific. He'd clap and all, but he's busy keeping an eye on that jade egg so that _he_ doesn't get squished like a griddle-cake. Eshandra calls out her congrats to the the girl. Wiping sweat slick hands off on the robe again, her grin resurfaces as she nods to Josi. Adding her congratulations to the others, she turns her gaze back to the clutch. Arimyrh beams towards M'dron, the expression oddly alluring upon her plain features, "Ah, hope he likes cookies as much as his mate does," she teases towards those within earshot. Dhinara yanks her eyes from the eggs and hatchlings to look over at M'dron. She gives him a silent congratulations in a light smile before she turns back to the eggs again. Anyone can see the nervousness on her face and probably the unsureness of her words. So she keeps silent. Carianna smiles for M'dron and Fjornth as they impress. "He's beautiful." She says to him, then turns to watch as another hatchling, brown this time frees himself from his shell. Casmira calls congratulations to the girl, too, and shifts her feet again. Amilin heads over to the newly Impressed pair with a bright smile, "Congradulations M'dron. Shall we get Fjornth something to eat?" M'dron slowly nods to Amilin as he gets on his feet. "Yes, it sounds like a good idea," he manages to say, almost calmly. Three young candidates give out a squeal of surprise as the Kan Kan Egg rolls free from the mound and instead of going just a few feet, rolls a good ways across the sands before stopping right in front of them. Must be a good time to make an entrance, because the little blue inside sends the egg flying, showering those three with bits of shell. Two flinch and step away to pick the debris off, but the third, a young lass with bright blue eyes just stands there with piece of shell on her head that looks like a hat and says, "I knew you were in there! But I thought you'd be green? Oh I don't care, you're perfect!" M'dron has left. Amilin has left. Eshandra's smile becomes a chuckle as she glances at Arimyrh. "That would be very ah, interesting." Her gaze returns to those sandaled feet as she shifts from one foot to the next. Hiriwa beams some more. "M'dron. Oh I am glad!" she says to Casmira before looking to see who else has Impressed. "Blues. Lots and lots of blues." From her tone, it's evident she approves. Casmira laughs at the show the last impression made, and calls congratulations to the girl. "I wonder how long it will take her to realize she has a piece of shell on her head?" Fjornth has left. Sria slowly tilts her head, eyes glittering, as eggs and hatchlings move across the sands. She smiles slightly at Casmira's comment and begins the age-old shuffle of her feet, sand whirled between her feet at the movement. Carianna looks up as the green comes from the Kan Kan egg. "Told you it would be a green Redus!" She calls out then adds congratulations to the girl that impresses that beauty. Talgor moves a step in now that his friend has impressed and closes the ranks up a bit. He's right in time to watch another blue impress to a girl. He cheers for the girl impressing the blue and looks sharp eyed at the eggs, trying to guess which will be next. The Fantastic Firestone Fandango Egg has been hopping and rolling its way across the Sands. Suddenly, it taps against another egg, gives a mighty shake and splits in two down the middle, revealing a little blue dragon. He stays right where he is, looking around at this new place that is so much BIGGER than his home. His head perks up at a croon from his mother, and he charges out into the ring of white things on this hot stuff. He butts his head into a short, stout youth from Nerat Hold, and licks his startled face. Delightedly, he calls out, "Jaraleth, you found me! We'll be together forever!" After sticking his tongue out at the snooty girl who had been standing next to him, he proudly escorts his new lifemate off the Sands. Redus' head goes side to side; a brown finds another girl across the semicircle, or what was a semicircle. He catches the moment the Kan Kan eggs is left behind in pieces and follows the blue with his eyes as he finds girl he helped with dishes once. He looks about catching Carianna's words and shrugs adding a grin. Tikhen sighs the word, "Earplugs," in a tone of longing. The hungry creels from newly hatched dragonets, even when softened by Impression, are enough to leave him wishing for a pair of the same, although he gamely calls out encouragement and congratulations as Candidate after Candidate impresses blue or brown. Ebbriah takes a few short breaths. "Well, this is /really/ happening," she says, letting out a long gush of air. "Look! And there's another one! Oh-it's all so /fast!/" Just like her feet, which are still hopping to a fro. She laughs at the piece of shell on the latest girl's head. Josilina gasps as the firestone egg hatches, "/Another/ blue! Out of /that/ egg!" She exclaims, eyeing the blue dragon slightly suspiciously, but, "He's awfully handsome." Casmira cheers for the boy who got the latest blue. Shifting her feet yet again, she watches the eggs. Sria nudges Josilina slightly, "There's the singing one, Lina," she murmurs, nodding her head to blue Jaraleth, and then affirming, "They're all handsome." Jubilant Jade Jitterbug Egg keeps on with its spinning, doubtless making its occupant dizzy. It seems that this only serves to further enourage the dragonet inside to want *out* as the tapping on the shell focuses on one end and becomes quite pronounced. Cracks start to form and widen, bits of shell falling to the sand. Wistful Waltz Egg sways back and forth gently as it starts to wiggle, digging a hole for itself int he sands. Synna shifts position a bit as she adds another congrats to the noise. Fussy, fussy, fussy. Cracking the egg and sending bits of shell all over the place? No, that simply won't do. Instead, the Caramel Ceilidh Egg hatches little by little, a dainty green beak slowly and painstakingly chipping away at it until a neat hole is made. With a ladylike little warble, the occupant steps out onto the sands, looking around at all there is to see. Not even hunger makes her forget her manners-she imperiously makes her way to a freckled lad and butts his chest with her head, informing him that she is ready to eat-right now! Jubilant Jade Jitterbug Egg has at last revealed a charismatic Bronze dragonet.
Dies Irae BronzeEgg dares hold him bound no longer, and he spreads his wings and draws erect to reveal a compact and sturdy bronze form. Tail and body, head and neck, he might have been molded of still-molten metal. When muscles beneath his hide ripple with movement, the light dances off his body like a flickering forge-flame. The coloring of his wings offers a startling contrast: dark and foreboding, a cloud of ash looming above the rest of him, they're ready to whip through the air and bend it to his will. He's spare and lean - not an ounce of dragon flesh has been wasted from hindquarters to torso - but the muscles that drive his wings are broad and thick with portent of future power. True to bronze style, he has a fine voice for bugling: pure and brassy, with overtones that set the ear bones tingling. And he carries himself with the utter supreme confidence of the all-seeing, fixing each of those about him in turn with a steely gaze, as though he were quite prepared to rain fire down upon those found unworthy.
Josilina nods at Sri, "It hatched! Well...at least it didn't sing. Bet it'll figure it out real quick though." She says, making a face. "Ooooh." she breathes at the arrival of the bronze from the jade egg. "Look at him...look at his wings!" Ebbriah blinks and grins. "Look there! Another bronze. Very pretty!" she comments, half to herself and half to those around her. She smiles happily. Again. Casmira congratulates the winner of the green, and ooooohs at the bronze..."Look at *that*" she says, looking at the bronze. Redus spies the newest blue and grins. "Always liked blue." he mutters as he watches Jaraleth and his lifemate. He wipes his hands on his robe and glances at Ebbriah with a smile before the spinning Jitterbug eggs gets his attention. "I feel like that....Oh...Wow..." is all that comes as the bronze appears. Tikhen keeps a wary eye on that jade /egg/. It just keeps spinning, looking like it's going to carom off of a neighbor and come tumbling down the mound... and then it hatches. That 'wary eye' becomes an astonished gape, Tikh's mouth hanging open. "Faranth, Alaranth, and /all/ their clutches combined...." Carianna's eyes light up as she spots the bronze hatchling then carefully starts side stepping her way closer to the male candidates. Matheny takes a step back as a dragonet passes close by her and S'rist and then smiles, "Oh look, he's a handsome one." Sria exhales slowly and then abolishes the action with a gasp, "Oh, look at the green - and bronze! What a color..." she trails off. Kariel lets out a quiet wow, "Oh, what a wonderful bronze. So strong looking for a hatchling!" The Twilight Two Step Egg rocks and rolls gently, almost in rhythm, then quivers urgently before splitting into several large shards. A large brown dragon is shown, cowering at the din and all the bright lights that have invaded his previously quiet and dim world. He creels repeatedly, and tries to bury his head in the sand to hide from the ruckus. But it's too hot, so he raises it back up and galumphs blindly to try and find his way OUT of here. He collides with a tall Holder lad from Telgar, and tilts his head back to see him better. Seconds later, the brown is burying his head under his new lifemate's robe and as he laughingly says, "Don't worry, Terazith. I'll protect and feed you for the rest of our lives. You don't have to be scared any more." The lad finally manages to untangle the young brown and lead him off the Sands to food and oil. Emilly comments, looking at newly-hatched bronze and green, "A pair of beauties..." The heat is getting to her now, and she's joining the others in the dance of hot sands. Arimyrh resumes her previous interest in her plight to keep her feet from burning off, "Shells it's hot," she observes rather unnecessarily. Hiriwa mms, "Green... Ooooh.... Another bronze! And he's lovely, for a hatchling." she offers, her gaze sweeping across the boys in a moment of speculation. "And another brown!" Casmira sees the brown hatch and impress, and she calls to congratulate the boy who got him....but she also keeps her eyes on that bronze, wondering who will impress that one.... Mylarran fidgets a little and wows at the bronze. Talgor can't help but look hopefully at the bronze dragon for a moment lifting his feet to stop the burning he scratches his head. Synna can't help but grin. The introduction of the bronze, and several others prancing about, brings a subtle relaxation to this candidate. She lets her shoulders drop from their previously affixed height. Eshandra shoves some errant strands of hair back off her face and her expression almost mirrors Josilina's. "Oh wow." Her eyes are sparkling with excitement and delight. She calls out her contrats to the lad with the shy brown dragon. Wistful Waltz Egg seems to be listening to a music all its own as it cntiues to sway back and forth. It finally manage to roll out of its little dug in area and onto the packed sands of the cavern. Soon it rolls in little circles towards the Candidates, as if the dragon inside is eager to get to its new 'mate, with or without a shell in between. The Zippy Zydeco Egg is no match for the determined little green that breaks forth, leaving a trail of destruction behind her. The smallest of the green hatchlings stumbles, and the Miner from Crom bends to help it. You see the bliss in his eyes as he helps the awkward creature to its feet. The little green croons with pleasure as it falls again, "Try to stand still" says the boy, helping the green up again. Redus is watching the bronze with one eye, congratulating others as a green and brown Impress with alook from the otehr eye and moving again..more toward Carianna. "You think?" he says with a grin. Casmira cheers for the boy from Crom, and sidsteps the rolling egg.... Dhinara eyes the Waltz egg as it begins to roll, managing to keep her gaping to a minimum. She swallows down a gulp and takes a deep breath, now switching her view around the loose semi-circle. Josilina grins mischieviously as her sister mentions color, "Exactly!" She exclaims, shifting her weight to her heels so she can raise her toes to the slightly cooler air. She glances over at Cari and gives an encouraging grin. Dies Irae Bronze sits where he is, atop a big chunk of his shell, proudly surveying his surroundings. Very different indeed from the shell this is, and the young bronze doesn't look very happy about it. In fact, he seems distinctly displeased. Unfurling those spindly wings of his, he flaps them dramatically to dry while lifting his head and *BUGLING* his displeasure. All this light and noise and hot stuff is *not* to his liking! Ebbriah chuckles very lightly at the energetic green before jumping at the bugle from the bronze. "Loud for a new dragon, isn't he?" she marvels, doing a neat hop-skip to help her feet. Sria unconciously quickens the pace of her shifting, uncomfortable feet, propelling swirls of sand onto her feet and in her sandals. She watches, moving back a half-step as the Wistful Waltz Egg's determination. Tikhen shuffles over to the side, to make room for Carianna, although he only sees the white blur of her robe, and her hair, attention fixed on the egg mound. He /was/ looking at the waltzing egg, worriedly, and mumbling about 'flattened if they don't move quick enough', until that *BUGLE* causes his head to snap up again, and his ears to ring. "He's loud enough for you, Tarl," he says, finally, weakly, with a bit of a grin as he presses a finger to his ear. Casmira smiles at the bronze..."He's taking his time, isn't he?" Kariel winces at the loud bugle from the bronze hatchling, "Oh, he's got a real temper. He'll be a handful for some guy to handle." Wistful Waltz Egg continues to rock and roll back and forth, which is quite out of character for its calming colors. It stills for a mment, then as a Candidate tries to approach, starts to shake once more. Josilina lets out a rather plaintive, "Ow." At that bronzes bugling skills. "He's /loud/." Grumble. She takes a little step back along with her sister, starting to, instead of hop, raise one foot, then the other. Arimyrh spares a smug grin towards the bronze, as if she could read his thoughts. "I don't blame you for keeping your perch there," she murmurs, "I would, too...it's fardling hot out here!" Carianna covers her ears as the bronze hatchling bugles but her eyes stay glued to the most beautiful hide. "Get up... come on its ok." She encourages, thou she is also mindful of the other hatchlings moving about and is quick to stay out of their path. Redus starts to snicker. "He's gotta be.." he starts to say but the bugleing drowns out the rest until the last word, "Petite." come out. He watches the bronze and the other eggs that are moving. In the confusion of the hatching a demure brunette from the Seacraft backs right up into the Xiphoid Cakewalk Egg. Inspired perhaps by this jolt the eggs starts to shudder and sends the girl leaping away with a exclamation of surprise. A more violent shake quakes over the egg's surface until cracks start to form. At last a sturdy bronze forelimb breaks through and is quickly followed by the rest of the sturdy looking dragonet. A young chap who had been standing near the girl moves to make sure she's all right and finds himself nose to muzzle with the dragon. "Rigolth!" is the ecstatic cry of the former vintner as he throws his arms around the shining neck. Ebbriah turns her attention to the Waltzing egg, with a small smile on her face. The bronze isn't, of course, for her-but occasionally she checks on his progress, too. Afterall, he still has sharp claws, right? She claps for Rigolth and her new rider. Synna reaches back and up, tugging gently at a single curl. She's got her sight set on a little clump of eggs that's escaped fracturing as of yet. Hiriwa winces at the noise herself, but only momentarily. She's too busy bouncing up and down in place, keeping overheated feet off full contact with the sands as much as she can - and trying to watch everything. Not that she's suceeding. Emilly winces. "Loud little one, he is." She closes her eyes for a moment, then opens them to see that /other/ bronze impression, and calls out her good wishes. Wistful Waltz Egg stills once more, as if a grand finale is building in the music only it can hear... Casmira looks back again as that egg seems to be headed her way again. Warilly she keeps and eye on it, pointing it out to Hiriwa in case they need to move further. She does also congratulate the boy who got a gold. A bewitching Green dragonet now stands where the Wistful Waltz Egg once existed. Song of the Siren GreenA delicious nymph of vibrant surf and sea foam brought forth as bounty from her egg and set free upon the sands to beguile anyone hapless enough to fall in her path. Greens of tide and froth sway in sultry song over her back and lissome limbs and out over the seductively serpentine curve of her tail. And what a tail she does possess! Even in the innocence of youth this charming creator of envy has an instinctive movement in her tail that promises a power to not just bewitch but to completely enslave. The muzzle of this siren of the sea is dainty with a particularly sparkling quality to her faceted eyes. When motion brings her wings into display they are shown to be as full of oceanic fire as a smoldering sea opal; flecks of blue and emerald flicker like flames in a tropical pool. Beauty designed to undo; this is the type of divine creature who is created not to win but to be won.
Though she tries to watch the entire hatching all at once, Eshandra's gaze is pulled to the one egg that begins to move around on it's own, then over to the bronze when he bugles. Hearing Arimyrh, she nods vehemently. "I don't know if I prefer the cold of Reaches more." Mylarran smiles at the green. "Gorgeous..." Tarlon snorts at Tikh, "More like as loud as you when you go off in one of your wherry fits." Dies Irae Bronze *BUGLES* again. My, that did seem to get a reaction. He glances about, seeing the large bronze nearby and the large gold as well. He flaps his wings again toward them before taking care to step out of his egg, shaking bits of goo - definitely another thing that is Not Liked - off of his hindlegs and tail. Ah, there. Much better. And hey, this sand isn't actually all that bad. Now what're all those things over there in white? They definitely deserve some investigating! With decisive, if still a bit wobbly, steps, the hatchling rushes headlong toward the Candidates. Ebbriah jaw-drops at the newest green. "Lovely," she breathes quietly. A broad smile, as per her standard reaction, spreads across her face, her feet stilling for a mere second as she watches the latest hatchling. Casmira ducks the flying egg shards and then oooohs at sight of the green. "What alovely creature." She is shifting her feet again, when the bronze's bugel makes her jump. Talgor is very excited as the vibrant surf green hatches, "A green!" She's exactly the sort of dragon that is his heart's true desire. Hiriwa gasps for a moment over the green. "Charmer." is her pronouncement before she eeks softly, tensing as she sees the bronze dash headlong for the Candidates. No, she's not staying in his path, but he's heading towards the boys, isn't he? Synna jumps at the noise the bronze makes. She manages to catch her balance before her knees fall fate to the burning sands beneath her sandals. "Faranth be... He's /loud/! And she's pretty," the ex-scribe tacks on, spying the freshly hatched green. Josilina gasps softly at the Siren green, "Oh /Sri/! Look at that one! She's...she's prettier than any painting ever! I don't think I've ever seen so many shades of green." She muses, eyes fixed on the daintry green, only occasionaly darting towards the bronze, for caution. "Isn't she pretty Esha?" Redus watches a less fussy bronze Impress and he smiles at his rider before he sees the Song of teh Siren green appear. "She's pretty." he announces as he looks up and watches the Dies Irae Bronze launch himself across the sands. "Uh oh." Ready to move. Sria tucks a heat-induced stray hair behind her ear, keeping her arm close to her body. She ohs softly as the green emerges, "Thought a green'd come of that one," she comments, and startles at the bronze's second bugle. "Mind for attention, hasn't he?" she adds. Tarlon leans over towards Tikhen, yanking on his hand to get his attention, "Now -she-'s gorgeous," he says. Well, it certainly looks like someone's going places! Jasmine Jabadao Egg rocks vigorously, then starts to roll! It rolls down a little hummock in the sand, then bumps along to a stop against a cluster of other eggs. Abruptly, a brown head pops out of the top, looking around as if to make sure the coast is all clear. With a cheerful warble, the young brown works the rest of his body through the hole in the egg... only to discover the wonderful world of dizziness! All that rolling has apparently taken its toll on the hatchling, who swerves and zigzags drunkenly across the sands before running sidelong into a stout Candidate with black hair. The lad 'oooofs!' in surprise, then lets out an exclamation of joy as the brown looks up into his eyes and the bond is formed. "Hey," Tikh says, but whatever /else/ he was going to say gets drowned out by another *BUGLE* from the bronze. It's pretty self-explanatory, though, as he tries to elbow Tarlon again and then points toward the green. "OhShards!" Said all as one word, as the bronze's mad rush down the mound catches his attention again, and he shuffles his feet, preparatory to /jumping/ out of the way. Mylarran shifts a bit more, "She's...wow..." Feet don't hurt...nope nope. Chloe has arrived. Kariel covers her ear with her free hand "Oh, great Faranth's well worn couch! I hope that bronze finds his boy soon. We'll go deaf if he doesn't."" Casmira congratulates the boy who got the brown, but keeps watching that green.... Dhinara winces at all the bugling, her eyes going wide as the bronze rushes a part of the circle. Her attention is pulled in so many different directions that her head swivels from side to side, almost as thought it were pulled. Chloe takes a cautious step out onto the sands, coming from the passage way. With a quick, nervous glance towards the hatchlings walking about, she hurries across the sands towards Josilina. "Hey.. What did I miss?" Her eyes are on the green as she asks. A timid sort of quiver seems to pass over the Warped Egg. A moment or two pass and then another quiver of the same hesitant type once again seems to take hold of the egg. Suddenly the egg takes a jump to the left and then rolls slightly back to the right. Another jump sends it left again and then as it starts to roll right once more a pair of green legs burst out from the bottom. The young dragonet gives a violent shaking thrust and sends the egg shards flying around randomly until she stands free upon the sands. It's not long before a flamboyant young fellow finds himself happily impressed to this new green. Tarlon can't help but sigh, "Quiet, and dignified, too," he says, eyes on the Siren Green. "Make some lucky lass or lad a lovely lifemate..." Eshandra chuckles. "Want me to go hide somewhere? Not like I"m paying any attention here anyway." :) Ebbriah swallows again, smile still plastered to her face. "Look how she's carrying her tail. Probably fussy, do you think?" she asks no one in particular before calling out another congratulations to the latest impression. Tikhen tries to give Tarlon a shove. Just a little one. "So wander /over/ there toward her. Let her take a look at you, huh, little brother?" Said distractedly. Josilina grins at Chloe, shifting in the sand so there's room for the other girl to slip into the semicircle. "Umm...you missed some Impressions." She rambles off a few names, including that mousy girl. "Oh! And Medron! He got a...blue. And now there's a bronze, and a really really pretty green." Obviously. "She's real careful too. Lookit her tail." Carianna shivers as she fights the instinct to cover her ears again. A quick look is given to her male competition for that dragons attention and she sighs knowing the odds are greatly against her. Casmira calls a congratulations to the winner of the other green, but keeps her eyes on this one. "Oh, she's pretty." A momentary shiver runs through the Energetic Salsa Egg, shaking sand loose around the edges of the mounded resting place it has occupied for the past months on the warm sands. Then another shiver runs through it, revealing further below on the egg, where small cracks have started to form. Then the egg breaks, releasing a young green dragonet into the world. Moments later that little green is stumbling down, sending two candidates scurring out of her way as she makes her way to a third, one of the tallest boys in the group in stark contrast to her diminutive size. Moments later though, the two are the perfect pair, headed off the sands joined for life. Matheny chuckles and turns to comment something to S'rist as she points to the new green's tail. "Trouble. Just waiting to happen." Tarlon exhales sharply through his nose, "What, and flex for her," he asks tartly. "I've never been too good at attracting women," he sighs, playfully. Arimyrh rolls her eyes at the recently hatched green's antics and asides towards Eshandra, "Jays she's a handful, I can already tell. Reminds me of Lord Waylont's daughter...as prissie as they come!" S'rist chuckles a bit and nods, "No doubt about that, Math, not a single doubt." Chloe does look at the tail. Chuckling lightly, she nods. "Looks really careful, yeah," she replies as she steps up next to the girl. "Medron?" Sighing, she eyes the green. "I can't believe I almost missed it." Eshandra winces at another loud bugle, then blinks when the new green seems to move easily across the sands. She glances at Josilina quickly, nodding in agreement though Josi, nor any of the other candidates would notice. A good deal of strength in that green as well as coordination. Then her lips twitch and she looks again. Finally, she nods at Arimyrh. "You know, I think you might be right. Never met the Lord's daughter though." Casmira calls a congratulations to the winner of another green, having seen that impression out of the corner of her eye. She shifts her feet, and keeps watching the other green. Redus chuckles as the Siren green makes her way toward the robed group. "And she knows she's pretty." He checks the Die Irae again and takes a step closer to a couple other candidates. "Your feet are burried. Not good." he notes to one of them before stepping back. Mylarran seems mesmerized by the green's tail. "Just /go/, Tarl," Tikh says, sounding like he's about at the end of his rope, in that put upon older brother way of his. "The reason you're not good with women is because you'd rather sit in a corner and moon over them than get out there and show them your..." Nipples, he almost says, attention totally distracted away from the sands. "...stuff." Finished lamely. "**GO.**" Song of the Siren Green curls her tail into a little curly-cue, then straightens it out. She approaches the Candidates, peering at the boys for a moment, then heads towards the cluster of girls nearby. There are the type who will appreciate her. Well...she looks up at the dragons far overhead for a second...there are others tha admire her too, but first things first. Sria shuffles over for Chloe from the other side of Josilina, adding distractedly, "He's M'dron, now." Her gaze rests with the wriggling eggs and hatchlings, eyes flashing over the Impressions, and following the green and bronze intently. Dies Irae Bronze comes to a halt abrupt as his rush before he plows into a line of Candidates, instead sending up a spray of sand in their direction. Yes, yes, there's something here to his liking. Something - or someone, rather - that he decides that he wants, that he *must* have, and badly. This is a most pleasing thought indeed. Unfortunately, the fact that he cannot /find/ who he's looking for...well, this is not something he likes at all, no not one little bit. The bronze lets out another very loud *bugle* right in front of a trio of girls, who clearly are not what he's looking for. One of the candidates calls out to the boy with the green from the Timewarp Egg, "F'rank! Congratulations!" Tarlon decides that the best way to shut Tikh up is to do as he's told, and takes a hesitant step forward, all subtle like, making it seems as though he's moving more to cool his feet, or get a better look, though the smile on his face betrays him. Ebbriah sighs a bit at the green as she watches her move, her whistful glance cut short as a loud bugle from the bronze jars her slightly into shifting, moving, and hopping about again, trying to keep off from the hot sands. Synna bobs her head back lightly with a bit of a chuckle as she spies the curly green tail. "Oh boy." Her fingers find her way to her ears though as the bronze makes his presence very well known. "Shush... before I go deaf." Emilly offers congratulations to the latest green-impression and then turns toward that other green the prissy one. "Bet she'll be trouble later on," she observes. Arimyrh claps her hands over her ears as she eyes the bronze dubiously, belatedly stepping away as if he might take the opportunity to mow her over. A glance is spared in the green's direction, however, and the barest hint of a smile touches the edges of her lips, "Looking for attention, she is," she idlly remarks. Dhinara tries her best to ignore the bronze, but catches Tarlon and Tikhen in the process. Despite all of the conflicting emotions going on in her head, she manages a smile but keep silent. Josilina shrugs absently, "Medron, M'dron, he's still the same fellow. Just...not. Oh /look/!" She exclaims, a little on the belated side, at the Impression of the green to the tall fellow...the one who threw her in the lake? "He got green! Maybe she'll toss him in the lake." Now there's a thought. She winces at the bugling though, "Owww." Tikhen twitches, clapping that imperious pointing hand over the ear nearer the bronze protectively, stepping back and to the side. It's like winding through a maze, really, and he's wanting to keep an eye on that bronze, as best he can, through the obstacles of other people's white robes and heads, just so if it *BUGLES* again, he can be proactive about protecting his ears. Too bad Candidates aren't made of glass, eh? Chloe sends a glance towards the other candidates, eyeing two particular boys. She watches Tarlon step forward with a grin, then looks to Sria. "M'dron? Nice." And then she looks towards the impression. She laughs at Josi's comment. Her wince echoes hers. The Pink Pirouette Egg makes a single turn in its resting place, then almost daintily breaks into four quarters as a bright little green rises up from the middle. She gives a bit of a turn herself before mincing out of the shards and down towards the awaiting candidates. A curious warble bubbles up from her throat as she examines several of them, but none of them are the right one for her. Then she spots a timid little girl from Southern Boll hiding behind one of the taller candidates and with a warble draws her out. In a moment the girls shyness melts away as she runs to the green, wrapping her arms around her new lifemate's neck. Eshandra winces and almost claps her hands over her ears. "Ouch!" she mutters more to herself even as she steps to one side. Her eyes dart around, first making sure she's not going to bump into anyone, then over the clutch of eggs and baby dragons again. Though her ears ring, she hears Arimyrh and nods again. Carianna sets a tiny hand on her hip as she wags her finger at the bronze though does tend to stay well enough away from it for safety's sake. "That's enough of that." She chides softly as she steps behind one of the bigger males just in case. Redus raises a brow at the Bronze and his bugling, but has to smile as the girls don't know what to do. "It's not their fault." he calls in that one's direction. Enough said, he watches that pretty Siren green. Casmira cheers for the girl who got the green. Looking at the bronze, she judges whether or not she needs to move to get out of his way....hm, not yet. She looks back at the siren green. Dies Irae Bronze flaps his tail once, hard, onto the sand and plops down to sit. Okay, there's something here that he really wants. Something he wants badly and that Must Be His. But it's hiding. Okay, he'll search. Getting up, the bronze stalks along the line of Candidates, eyes focusing on each one in turn before he gives a little rumble and moves on. Growing more and more distressed, he lets out another of those *BUGLES* of his and then flops his head melodramatically downward. But they don't touch the sand. Instead the bronze's head falls onto the feet of a young man with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He looks up past the crumpled hem of the Candidate's robe and *BUGLES* again. This is *exactly* what he was looking for! Song of the Siren Green pauses as she hears some of the girls whispering about...her! She turns her head to regard them, tipping it slightly. Maybe one of them is what she wants. Yes...one of them. The green slinks towards the cluster of girls, lifting her head high again to show it off. Notice the tail never touches sand! Josilina is back to her hopping and tiny bounces, "Ooh it's hot. I can't /believe/ I misplaced my sandles." Hophop. "Heeey! That neat pink egg hatched! Oh but..." she frowns faintly. "All the pretty shells...they've broken." Awww. The Dies Irae Bronze makes eye contact with a strapping young lad with hazel hued eyes. Hiriwa fidgets now, wiggling toes in the sand. They've gotten fairly used to the heat by now. "Ooooh! the bronze! Look -- at last!" and she waits impatiently to hear a name. "And the green too... oooh..." Tarlon wobbles. Just... wobbles, and then sinks to his knees. He opens his mouth. QUIT Cromcoal Ceroc Egg tumbles off the mound, end over end over end again, then skids to a halt just past the base. A trickle of tawny grains slushes on past, no weight to cease their momentum. After such a remarkable beginning, it just sits there, not even a shudder to betray the previous commotion. A strange noise, almost that of a squeaking wagon wheel from a down on his luck trader's wagon bubbles out of the Funky Wherry Egg. Moments pass in silence, then the sound starts up again, causing some of the candidates close by to cover their ears even in the din of the hatching. Finally the sound is mercifully ended as the egg sunders into quarters, allowing the robust looking blue to escape and begin his search amongst the candidates. It only takes a bit longer for him to find one candidate that didn't flinch at the sound, a young woman from the kitchens at Balen Hold. She uses her hands for better purpose, wrapping them around the young blue's neck as impression washes over them in joy. Chloe wrinkles her nose slightly. "Yeah, they're broken.. but maybe you could get some after?" she suggests as she returns her attention to the green walking around. She eyes the tail, then the head. "Pretty." She glances towards the eggs, resting her hands on her hips. Arimyrh swallows what suspiciously sounds likes a snicker as she tears her eyes from the green long enough to acknowledge the bronze as his search comes to an end. Ebbriah grins at Redus and nods, though her eyes are only briefly torn from the goings-on. "There's lots to keep track of!" she says, nodding as another one leaves the sands. Her mouth falls open a bit as impression is made with Tikhen. "Hurrah!" And then that cheer's added for the Balen girl. Sria clutches at the fabric of her robe, leaving a wrinkled print near the side stitching. "Do him good if he did get thrown in the lake," she replies, and flashes a grin to the Pink Pirouette's Impressee. "Oh, good," she sighs, and then her mouth drops open, then spreads to a wide smile at the bronze's chosen candidate. "Tikh! Oh, Meredoth, that's lovely," she cheers. Synna is about to say something to Cierra, when she spots the bronze finally come to a halt in front of Tikhen. "Oh, I just knew it. Congratulations!" she shouts with an excited clap of her hands. Smug is the grin that surfaces now on her face. Talgor covers his ears at the squeaking noise but tries to stay generally alert in case one of the dragons should come near to him. Kariel looks shocked beyond description, "Tikh? A bronze for Tikh? Never in a million Turns." Song of the Siren Green stops before one girl in white, one whom had called /her/ trouble. Not that the label wasn't true, but still, it is the principle of the whole thing. With one find glance at the colors clustered on the ledge above, then around at her clutch mates, she peers at the girl that has caught her fancy. Tarlon laughs, happily, a release of nervous excitement, "Oh you two are perfect for each other, Tikh!!" he cheers for his brother. Casmira sees the bronze seems to have finally found someone, out of the corner of her eye, so she looks....and congratulates Tikhen - T'ken? - and the girl from Balen Hold. Dhinara's constant peering about lands her a good glance at Tikhen and his new bronze, "Oooh, congratulations!" she says in a half-whisper, though is far enough away where he probably didn't hear. She catches Kariel's words and just... nods. Josilina rises to tiptoes, shifts off them, then back on them. "They both choose...didn't they?" She asks those near her, craning her neck. Even being average height has it's disadvantages. Hearing her sister she exclaims excitedly, "Tikhen? Tikhen!" That's a Jos form of congratulations. S'din goes over to Meredoth and the newly impressed K'hen, "Alright now, the two of you can head back to the ledge, lots of food and oil awaiting you there." Eshandra is ready for the next bugle from that bronze and while her hands don't go to her ears, her shoulders hunch a little. "Well, maybe he'll be quiet now," then her voice trails off as a wide grin appears. "Congrats Tikh." Even as she calls out to the new bronzerider, she looks back towards the green. Emilly echoes Sria's congratulations to Tikhen, her own heartfelt "Congratulations!" laced with wonder. A bronze. Hmm. When the thoughtful grey eyes of a young woman and the Song of Siren Green meet a lasting bond is made. Meredoth bugles again, imperiously. Yes, he's Meredoth and he's found what he wants! Then he nudges again, gently. Those scritches there are good things, yes indeedy. More please! Redus watches more Impressions, blue, green and now that bronze. "Congratulations, Tikhen." he calls before looking away and ctaching up on the action. Who's she stopped at? He watches, glancing toward teh eggs after each blink. Hiriwa beams some more, bouncing up and down in delight. "Tikhen! Oooh, just think what chaos the barracks will be in until he graduates! Meredoth. Suits the noisy wretch, don't you think?" She's asking no one in particular. "And the green! Whowhowho??" She peers round the semi-circle, intent on discovering who Impressed that beautiful green. K'hen acts, in fact, like someone /did/ drop him on his head as a child. He staggers up at S'rist's continued prompting, eyes locked on Meredoth instead of where he's going. He'll likely walk into a few Candidates on his way out of the Sands. "Come on. You. Um. Aren't you hungry?" Let's appeal to another basic drive, right? K'hen has left. Emilly would probably like to add more to her congratulations, but then she's locking eyes with that prissy green, and murmuring, "Sionath, yes, we /are/ together." Talgor shouts out his congratulations for K'hen and then looks around to try and see who else has impressed everything seems to be happening all at once. Synna turns again, this time just at the moment that another pair of eyes meet. "Oh, Emilly!" she calls out, completely happy that another of those that she grew to know so well during this candidacy managed to find her lifemate. Casmira looks back in time to see the pretty green impress..."Oh, congratulations Emilly!" Mylarran grins and congratulates the newly Impressed. Sria gasps again, squeezing at her sister's hand, "Emilly!" she exclaims happily, "...oh, Em, she's beautiful." S'din sees K'hen off towards the ledge, then he turns and goes over to Emilly and Sionath, "Take her to the ledges, food and oil there for her." Carianna blinks for a moment as she watches Tikhen with the bronze. "Shells Tikh, I mean.. K'hen, congrats." Her movements seem slower as she takes his spot to watch the hatchling again "Oh Em..." Cromcoal Ceroc Egg tilts. Perhaps. With the heat of the sands, the eyes can play tricks. Then a quiet >thunk Kariel smiles broadly and cheers, "Emilly! Oh, she's such a lovely green for you! G'rad's going to be proud!" Chloe does add her congratulation to the others. "Congrats!" she calls out, first to Tikhen, then to Emilly when she hears the name. She turns, grinning, almost clapping. Dhinara's gaze flips *back* toward the closer impression of Emilly to Sionath. "Oh, Emilly!" she says fondly, smiling broadly for the newest pair. Meredoth has left. The hole that appears near the bottom of the Prolific Polka-dotted Egg is hidden in a shadow, so it's easy to overlook...which is apparently just how the occupant wants it. Dark, dark blue, almost a shadow himself, he slides out of the hole and crouches, taking stock of the situation. Stealth seems to be the order of the day, what with all those big bronzes and browns lumbering around getting into trouble, so he darts from one egg to another, trying to sneak up on them. Unfortunately, his brothers aren't so stealthy, and one large brown inadvertently steps on his tail-causing him to spoil his stealthy approach with a loud, indignant squawk! The very young Candidate who's closest jumps into the air, just as startled, and stumbles-right into the blue, whose squawk quickly changes to an adoring croon as he finds his lifemate. Josilina is still craning around, until her eyes land on, "Emilly! Oh yay Em! That's wonderful! She's so pretty! Congratulations Em!" She calls out, tugging on her sisters arm. "It was Em! Em got the pretty green!" She tells her excitedly. Not that she doesn't know already. Casmira swiftly dodges another rolling egg, while congratulating the person who got that blue. "Emilly! oh..Congrats." Redus shouts. "She's beatiful, Em." he Cromcoal eggs moves and he's suddenly distracted, yet smiling for new greenrider. Hiriwa squeals again, seeing at last who Impressed the green. "Emilly! Sionath! Perfect!" Ebbriah claps loudly for Emilly. "Hurrah!" she cries over the din, hopping a bit more than is stricktly nesessary for the heat of the sands. As a bit kicks up and she earns herself a glare, she swallows and stills herself a bit. Synna takes a few well-placed steps to the side, drawing herself away from the spinning cromcoal egg and towards another, more stable and non-moving one, as of yet. Emilly lets the congratulations of her friends rain upon her, tearing her gaze from Sionath to scan the ledges once more, then heading away, telling the green - her green - "C'mon, you. Food and oil await." Eshandra's head swings back and forth, going from egg to egg to Emilly to Tikhen to dragonet and back until she gives it a shake, then grins at Josilina and Sria. "She's gorgeous." she agrees. Emilly has left. Cromcoal Ceroc Egg's contents taptaptap in a riotess fury until a striation of cracks web across one entire side of the shell, the bits exploding outward all at once. The Cromcoal Ceroc Egg is no more, in it's place stands a charismatic Brown dragonet. Beautiful Day BrownSmaller than most, but with attitude to spare, bright eyes sparkle mischief out of a sweet, almost smiling draconic face. His little body is perfectly proportioned, if nearly swallowed by a wealth of wings that will take time to fit. Metallic gleams slick and sleek over this dragonet's hide, glinting out of darkness-it's no secret at all who he is, and he knows it. Bittersweet child wrapped up in velvet wings, a shade away from black, draped in graceful folds. Other than those glimpses of color, his hide is deepest sable. Only in light, staring at and into the sun, will gold and brown surface out of darkness and shine like stars in the summer night. Greens and ambers flash along the smooth curve of wingsail, flickering tail and lean haunches as he prowls. Dark topaz sparks over headknobs, and muted discoball silvers flash from the hollow of chest and flank. Long muscular legs would rather strut than merely walk, ebony talons sharp and dangerous even just-hatched. He's a headache, he's an angel, he's a _star_-and he's looking for that one love to elevate him.
Tarlon looks around him, seeming a little more alone without K'hen than he'd thought, and moves closer to the pack of Candidates, grinning to Josi. Casmira ducks eggshells again as the brown suddenly hatches, and then ooos at him..."He's pretty, too." Golden Galliard Egg begins to tremble, nestled carefully in its mound of sand. The grains about the base of the egg are disturbed, offering more evidence of its impending hatching than the egg does itself, for the vibrations are so slight that it scarcely seems to move. With a shuddering crackling the Interpretive Dance Egg gives up the fight against the young blue within. The brightly colored blue hops up and starts to walk towards the candidates. But his way is filled with obstacles, so that he ends up turning, hopping, stumbling and going into a roll before he lands at the feet of a young harper apprentice. The young man smiles and reaches down to brush sand off the blue's muzzle, "Of course you don't walk funny, things just got in your way. You can walk with me, we'll walk straight." Hiriwa's gaze trails back across the eggs and snags on a simply beautiful brown. "Ooooooh." She managing that noise a lot today. But then, it's a hatching. "Brown. A wonderful, wonderful brown." Kariel ooooos loudly for the brown, "Look at those wings! He's lovely!" Ebbriah makes an 'oo' sound as the brown pops his shell. "Look there! Now /there/ is a good looking brown," she says very matter-of-factly, wiping her sweaty palms on the side of her robe and smiling. Chloe nods towards Eshandra, even though the comment wasn't to her. With a grin, she replies, "Yes, she is." And then she sees the hatching of the brown. "Just look at him." She only takes her eyes off of him long enough to take note of the golden egg wobbling. She blinks at the sight, then looks back to the brown after offering congratulations to the newest impression. Casmira congratulates the winner og the blue, and then gulps as she sees the gold egg move. "Hiriwa! The gold egg moved!" she says to the girl next to her. Dhinara's hands run one over the other as she eyes the eggs and the newest hatchling. "I... um... yes. Wow. He's amazing. Really. All that color in there... under the browns, you know?" She addresses this vaguely to, well, no one. Synna mms softly at the brown. "He is darling." She glances to her side, looking for someone. "Cierra?" She seems to have misplaced her entrance buddy. Josilina is all excited now. And she didn't even need sweetner to get her this way. "Look at that brown! He's so dark and gorgeous!" she exclaims, panning the semi-circle, pausing to return Tarl's grin. Hophop. "Hothothot." Sria breathes out slowly, ready to sidestep the Ceroc Egg until suddenly, it's place holds a brown hatchling. "Lina, even you have to admit that is a magnificent color brown." she sighs softly, and then her eyes dart to other shattering and rocking eggs. Hop, skip, jump... the Sock Hop Egg chooses to avoid the commonplace rolling along as its occupant tries to break free. After another moment or two the egg jumps again, but this time it lands not so softly on the sounds, a loud crack resounding as it cracks in half and releases the young brown dragonet within. The young brown peers around a moment in surprise at the sudden freedom, then rushes down towards a candidate found on the remote Desert Isle Hold. The young lad looks just about as incredulous as the young brown just moments ago as the emotions of impression wash over him. Talgor jumps a bit and moves cautiously out of the way so that a blue can pass and then he watches the new brown with interest. Golden Galliard Egg moved? Did it? Hard to say. The sand around it definitely did, and -- now, yes, the egg moves, rocking slightly to one side, then falling back into the depression where it's lain so peacefully all these long weeks. But not for much longer. Redus mmms as the Day Brown appears. He watches that fellow strut and chuckles. "I like that." he comments before shifting to a bit of foot shuffling. Beautiful Day Brown CREELS. Just wants to get that put out there from the beginning. A lusty set of lungs this one's got on him, despite his small stature, and he's determined to let everyone know it. That mission complete, he proceeds with the business of moving these gangly wings. Maybe just one - slightly pitiful - creel as they get a bit tangled. For good measure, in case no one noticed the first. Arimyrh shakes her head bemusedly...indeed it does seem that the energy and joy of the hatching is seeping into her enough to distract her, even, from the driving heat of the scorching sands below her feet. A little 'Oooh' is spared for Emilly before her eyes are drawn to the newly-hatched brown. Carianna scans the remaining eggs trying to remember which she guessed would hold bronze treasures then turns back to clear a path for a hatchling on the move. "Congratulations." She calls out to another impression. Hiriwa's gaze slides down to the gold egg and she nods. "It moved. But look at that brown, Casmira. He's a darling and and and... oh, poor thing all tangled up." She's sympathtic and it shows in her voice. Casmira congratulates the winner of the brown, and omphs as the first brown gets loud..."Loud males in this bunch." Ebbriah smiles and chuckles as the brown makes himself known. "Lungs are working!" she says, motioning to indicate the brown. Her admiration doesn't fade, even when he does get a bit stopped up by his wings. Synna makes note of the largest egg as it shivers, but she's more focused on the brown at the moment. Those closest to her could see that her fingers are crossed as her arms rest at her sides. Josilina nods quickly to Sria, "It is! It is! Because it has some other shades in it too!" Oy. "Oh!" Her eyes land on the golden egg, seeing it's faint movements. "Esha! Chlo! Sri!" she exclaims to those around her. "It /moved/!" She neglects to say which one of course. Kariel looks past the amazing brown and whispers to Dhinara, "The queen. Look! It's starting to move." Chloe did notice the first creel. And then the second. She frowns slightly at the sound, then at the sight of the tangle of his wings. She almost chuckles, but doesn't. "I hope he's okay," she comments, glancing between the gold egg and the brown. Looking to Josi, "What did?" Golden Galliard Egg moves yet again, and threatens to tip over the edge of the sand mounded up around it... but no. Not yet. Its rocking and trembling motion becomes more steady and insistent, and tapping and scrabbling noises can be clearly heard from within. Dhinara mutters under her breath as she catches Casmira's statement, "The candidates or the dragons?" though it's really a low-voiced comment, caught up in her sudden reply to Kariel. "I know. I mean, I didn't think it would. Er, right now, that is. You know, sort of... wait?" With a convulsive lurch, the Light Fandango Egg shivers and then bursts open, dumping the occupant-a very surprised-looking green-on her snout in the sand. She clambers to her feet, blinking in wide-eyed surprise... and then sneezes violently, thanks to the sand in her nose. With a bewildered noise, she looks around, as if trying to figure out what just happened-and then sneezes again, stumbling a few steps to her left. A plump young woman nearby makes a noise of sympathy and moves to assist the sneezing hatchling...and the two croon almost in unison as Impression is made. A rider escorts the girl and the (still sneezing) green off the sands. Sria worries at her lower lip between words, even her breathing heated by the sands. She nods amusedly to Casmira and watches closely as the brown remains tangled, adding a "It did indeed!" to her sister. Quiescent Zarabanda Egg shivers ever so slightly, maybe even unoticably, but it does. A small cascade of sand falling away from it's sides. Very faintly there is a scratching sound, but who knows if that can even be heard about the cacophany of the sands. Eshandra's eyes are riveted to the brown, seeing glimpses of color in all that darkness. She's almost forgotten her hot feet as she tries to figure out a pattern to go with that beautiful coloring. One eye half winces as she glances at Arimyrh. "I think I agree. Earplugs are needed." Casmira congratulates another winner, and keeps and eye on that loud brown....but also keeps watching that gold egg. Josilina is practically bouncing now, though from the heat or excitment it's hard to tell. "The gold one! It's moving even more now!" HopBounceSqueal. "Oh! That brown ones awfully loud too...think of how noisy the barracks'll be!" With a resounding crack, the Quaint Quadrille Egg splits in half from the struggles of the richly colored green inside. One half of the egg rolls off down from the mound towards the candidates. This seems to be a good plan and the green takes off after the half an egg out into the midst of the candidates. This one decides to spend some time showing off her wings before she spots a young miss from Tillek showing off her blonde curls with a flip of her head. That was enough to draw the green's attention and moments later impression is made between the two show offs. Cierra oohs as the green land on her nose.. letting out a faint giggle. She catches wind of her name and looks about absently for Synna, attention focused mostly on the little hatchlings, however. Arimyrh winces and shakes her head, quite boggled by the brown, "Indeed...I don't fancy the pour sot who has to sleep in the same barracks with that fellow.: Redus still thinks it'd be easier to have stalls in here and the candidates file by each hatchling...okay that's what he was thinking until the Gold moves. Then a green appears in his peripheral vision and he looks that way. He wipes his hands again, then his brow. "Warmer than the loft in teh summer out here." Matheny finally stops chuckling over one of the green impressions and leans in against S'rist. Ebbriah blinks as she catches sight of another egg wraggling about. "There's lots here," she breathes, turning her head slightly on her look out for sharp claws and stumbling dragonets. Another swallow and smile, and she's back to shifting again. She nods to Redus, unsure if he caught that or no. Synna fidgets with the unhemmed seam of her robe. "Oh, there you are," she states, finding sight of the other girl again. "I really like that brown," she says absently. Beautiful Day Brown gets those wings a-working, enough at least to spread them wide. A crackled little trumpeting demands still more attention. Just look at how beautiful these wings are! After a moment he determines those white-robed persons must be too far away to fully appreciate the beauty which he's attempting to share. Up he rocks onto his feet, and the forward-pitch into stumbling begins. Casmira chhers for the girl who got the green, and chuckles at the brown..."He'll figure it out, they all do." Golden Galliard Egg begins a steady rocking motion. Back and forth, back and forth, coming closer and closer to freeing itself from that protective mound of sand. Finally, the movement is enough to cause the entire side of the small mound to disintegrate, sliding downward, and the egg follows, rolling over rapidly several times, slowing, and finally coming to a dignified halt. Whereupon the tapping and scrabbling is renewed, with vigor. Hiriwa awes softly as the brown finds his feet and spreads his wings. "Patient. It gets better." she murmurs before peeking round to inspect the other Impressions and call out congratulations. Chloe looks towards the brown once more as she hears the trumpeting, distracted, for the moment, from her study of the gold egg. She grins at the sight of his wings, fingers idly tapping on her hips as she watches him move. Quiescent Zarabanda Egg gives another quiver before stilling. It's hard work hatching you know, and this egg seems to be having some issues. A long moment passes and then it jerks, rather violently, and a good bit of sand falls away from it's base. The egg begins to slowly move forward and begins to roll... Josilina grins over at Arimyrh, "And Tikhen and that bronze." she adds, eyes fixed primarily on the brown, though they've taken up this tendency to dart around the Sands like nervous vtols. "Oh! He's moving now!" is exclaimed about the brown. Casmira eyes are drawn back to the moving gold egg, though she does also keep an eye on that moving brown. She shifts her feet, again. Kariel cries out as the brown stumbles, "Oh. I do wish hatchling wouldn't try to hurry." Ebbriah smiles, watching the brown, even if her attention /is/ momentarily diverted to the golden egg as it wobbles some more. "Nice wingspan," she comments, as if she knew anything about that! A young man from Lewis Hold ends his waiting on the sands as a clumsy bronze that hatched from the Unusual Twist and Turn Egg finds him with a brassy bugle. There is a moment of confusion as the girl standing next to him forgets to let go of his hand, but that quickly passes and the new pair are soon inseparable as an assistant weyrlingmaster works to get them off the sands and to the food. Sria visibly stiffens. "/She/ Impressed? Oh, but so lovely..." her soft tone changes as she's caught up again, eyes darting across the stumbling brown and rocking eggs. "He's so handsome," she adds admiringly. Synna lifts up her right foot slightly, eyes squinting as the gold egg rolls. A hand finds its way to her lips, lightly brushing over them. "Whoop. I bet she just made herself dizzy." Arimyrh lets loose a candid, "Yeep!" and moves to stand a bit behind the candidate next to her, "This ought to provide a good barricade," she reaches over to tap the girl's shoulder, "Watch out for me, now. Cierra nods, making her way over to the spotted Synna, "Mmm, he's pretty! But the green.. and the golden egg." Its an awful lot to take in and she giggles, "Good thing /they/ do the choosing." She shifts her feet on the sands absently. Carianna keeps her feet on the move as she watches hatchling after hatchling impress and be led away. With a glance to Tarlon then Redus she tugs her robe into place then gives the brown hatchling her attention. Casmira congratulates the latest winner, seemingly determined to say something to everyone who impresses. She keeps watching, though... Josilina glances over at Sria, "Who? Who're you talkin' about?" she questions, before absently remarking, "They're awfully /slimey/. All...gooey like." Took her a while to notice. The Turbulent Tarantella Egg shudders and breaks, yielding for a small green. The green makes a direct line for a girl from Pars Hold. The young girl wraps her arms around the little green's neck as the Green steadies herself with her wobling legs. Tears pour down the young girls face as impression is sealed, "Come, let's get you some food." she says, leading the green off the sands. Golden Galliard Egg jerks violently, and one end breaks out into a broad pattern of tiny little cracks. An odd muffled noise can be heard from within the flaking shell, perhaps an attempted bugle. Synna chuckles. "Yeah, I suppose it is a good thing. Otherwise there'd be brawls amongst the candidates if we had to choose. The green?" she glances about, trying to find whom it is Cierra's referring to. Beautiful Day Brown catches his stumble just in time to regain his elegant status. For that split moment. Once past the small huddle of boys, he trips again, skidding to another halt. Up comes the chin in a mystified croon, and his eyes look over some young women, just sure the one to help him is there. Redus watches as the Lewis Hold boy Impresses and chuckles. "I knew him before here." he remarks before calling a congratulations after him. He goes back to watching the commotion. The brown getting more attention that other cuz he's closest. Casmira congratulates the girl who got the green, and dodges a rolling egg, but still watches..... The Beautiful Day Brown looks deeply into the soft brown eyes of a girl with high cheek bones. An innocent looking Gold dragonet is now where the Golden Galliard Egg once was. Wind of Spring Serenade GoldThis young queen is at once both sweet and wild, much like the fragrant, untamed breezes that chase winter from the world so that warmer skies can prevail. The overall hue of her hide is an incorruptible and yet intricate gilding of sunshine and melodic wind flowing over fields that are still, largely, the darkened gold of winter grass. Here around the base of the wings and there along the sides of her tail small bits of metallic green peek forth through the gold like the first new signs of seasonal rebirth. The sails of her wings are as much a chiaroscuro of solstitial rejuvenation as the rest of her; cimmerian ambers are graced with a breath of gilded dappling creating a true play of spring sunshine and winter shadow. The movements of her lissome legs and tail have a free spirited swing to them and yet there is a definite innocence in the whirling jewels of her eyes, the kind of purity of heart that can never be touched by experience of any kind. She holds her head with a guileless sort of pride and steps forth from the safety of her shards to naively face the world.
Mylarran watches a bronze walk by..and then the gold. Speechless. Sria nods to Cierra, "'Tis good, but sometimes slow process," she says slowly, and inhales sharply as the gold and green hatch. "Oh, /shards/," Casmira oooooohs, eyes wide, and filled with gold. Kariel suddenly hops around a bit, "Hot. Maybe sandals would have been a good ..." She gasps and screams, "OH, Lloyth!! Lloyth!! You big wonderful brown boy!" Talgor hopefully watches a green but sees her impress to a girl he's friends with. He cheers for her and then goes back to shuffling his feet. "It's hotter than I thought it would be." Quiescent Zarabanda Egg begins to roll forward much more quickly now. Down a small incline of sand and towards the candidates nearby. It hops one as it rolls, the occupant inside not likely liking this end over end thing that is occuring. And before you know it the egg is almost towards the candidates, in fact it stops rolling just in front of a group of boys and girls. There it stills a moment before a very loud *crack* causes a piece of shell to fall inside the still whole egg. A claw peeks out, but that is it. And covered with goo so telling color is not possible...at least right now. Ebbriah makes a noise in the back of her throat as the gold hatches. "Oh!" is all she breathes, her eyes wide and head shaking back and forth a bit. She's startled from her reverie as Kariel impresses. "Congratulations, Kariel!" she calls. Synna yet again misses another entrance. She was looking for the green when the gold tumbled out. "What's everyone staring a... Oh. Oh! Kariel!" she shouts with a grin, again completely ignoring the little queenling. "Congratulations!" Tarlon blinks, starting in surprise, looking over at Kariel, "Oh, shards, she's going to be impossible now," he says, though he's grinning. "Congratulations, Kariel," he calls out. Dhinara's attentions are pulled in so many different directions that the arrival of the gold makes her more speechless than she already was. Her mouth just hangs open. There's a gold where the egg was. How did that happen? And yet there she is. The girl attempts to say something, which just happens to be, "Congratulations... Kariel?" Oh, my! "Kariel!" as the girl next to her impresses and Dhin takes a step away. Sria tears eyes away from the main fixation and calls congratulations to her friend. "Kariel, he's amazing," she says. Hiriwa tense and then bounces. "Looook! The brown found... who... Kariel? Kariel!" She calls out her congratulations in delight. "Lloyth - oh he's lovely!" Then her gaze falls on the gold and she gulps. "Oh my." S'din walks over quietly to the screaming new weyrling and her brown. "Let's take him to the ledge, lots of food and oil waiting for him there." Casmira hears that Kariel impressed, and calls to congratulate her. But her eyes do not move from the gold., Josilina shrugs at Chlo, "I dunno....oooooh." she breathes out, completely missing the browns Impression as the gold emerges. Predictably her first words are, "The colors....." And that's about all she manages. Kariels yell brings her out of her color-trance, "Kariel! Congratulations!" Eshandra is still thinking of patterns of color as she watches the brown, then sees a bronze, and the green, then the brown again. "Kariel! Congrats!" she cries out, clapping her hands in delight. Finally returning her attention to the eggs and she sees the gold hatchling. "oh" Wind of Spring Serenade Gold tries that vocalization again, and it comes out as a surprisingly mellow sound, just loud enough to fill the ears of those near, but not to cause any unpleasant reverberations off the stone of the cavern, oh, no. Wings go out wide, and legs move, testing, ridding herself of as much shard and goo as she can. Cierra shakes her head, "She was Impressed.." she says in referrance to the green. She seems bewildered when Synna starts to call out, but following the hubub she realizes, and calls a congratulations to Kariel. She grins happily for the other girl. Carianna turns in time to see Kariel impress. "Oh I knew she would I just knew. Did you see? A brown even. Congrats Kariel." Redus ohs as Kariel announces the name and smiles. "Yea, Kariel." he calls. His eyes follow until a gold form replaces his occupation for a moment. "Uh huh. A pretty one too." But there's more and he takes in everything with a step backward. Chloe hears the sound and then tears her eyes away from the gold. With a grin, she calls, "Congratulations! He's great!" she adds, sending a glance towards Tarlon, then the others who add their congrats. And then it's back to staring at the gold. She smiles at the sound, commenting to Josi, "That was nice." Quiescent Zarabanda Egg begins to crack now, little bits of shell flaking and falling away from it. Finally a whole paw punches through the top of the egg. Talons flexing and then another and...and...the hatchling begins to emerge, clawing out of the shell. Arimyrh nods towards Kariel, not at all certain the girl saw the greeting, before she instinctively admires the gold. Noticing the eyes of the crowd, she quickly shrugs, crosses her arms, and notes with a quip, "Yeah, she's pretty." Most of the time the job of the Weyrlingmaster and the assistants on the sands is fairly easy, just make sure that the new pairs get off to the nearby ledge to feed and oil, then answer some of the basic questions as they come up. But in the case of the young seacrafter that impressed the warbling green from the Burnished Bastringue Egg, it's a different case altogether. The two seem lost in each other's gaze completely, and it's not till two assistants get together and actually pick the boy up and carry him to the ledge does his new lifemate follow after him. Synna does hear a faint noise in the direction of the gold, which finally makes her turn about and look. "Oh, she's very pretty." A nod to Cierra then. "Yeah... I liked that guy. But at least Kariel impressed him. I like his name. Lloyth." Ebbriah unconsciously follows Redus' step back, so used to following him that she is. Her eyes still flicker about, as if trying to take in the overwhelming-"Oh! Another egg, too," she says with a smile. Tarlon watches the gold, though idly, vaguely interested in where she goes, but more keeping an eye on the unhatched eggs. The Quiescent Zarabanda Egg doesn't seem to exist on the hatching sands any longer. In it's place is a dashingly handsome Brown dragonet. Rest in Peace BrownShocking darkness roams like moonlit loam across this small and lithe brown hatchling. Ripples of muscle move beneath his flawless hide making it look less than smooth and gifting him with a menacing sort of strength. Yet there is more to him that this, a certain intensity that beguiles his outward morose appearance. It could be the shocking splash of crimson across his breast. The color itself isn't too intense, more like readily drying blood that is slowly being absorbed by the soil around it. But that isn't the only place that carmine colors make their appearance. The area around his front talons seems to be bathed in a rich vermilion that leaks vein-like into obsidian talons. Around his maw the brown becomes flushed with russet. Yet what else is there beyond this to set him apart and make him unique? The way his neck ridges pale from the dark loam to a creamy tan at the very tip is someplace to start. Sharply angled wings sweep back and are just a bit too long, so they trail along with his tail. The coloring of his wings even darker so that they are almost a shade of ebony except when light shines through the sails. Then there is another surprise as they fade from brown to dark maroon. And his tail, that same dark soil as the rest of him, sweeps out behind him. Curling and winding in graceful movements, almost hypnotic in the way it moves.
Josilina tugs on her sisters hand, "Sri! Sri...can you believe her? She's like...a work of art. They all are...but shells...I didn't even know there were that many shades of gold!" She exclaims, tone still awefilled. "She sounds pretty too." She adds, before glancing at Chlo, "What was nice....oh a brown! Look at that red bit!" Ooh. Ahh. Casmira keeps watching the gold, so mesmerized that she seems to have forgotten to move her feet.... Kariel smiles and hugs Lloyth's neck, "I love you, too!" She looks into his multi-facted eyes, "We should get you some food and some oil, don't you think?" Chloe glances towards the egg that had rolled into a group of candidates. She blinks as she sees a brown instead of the egg she was looking for. "Well.. he's nice too.." her voice trails off as she looks to the brown, then back to the gold. She darts her gaze between the two, torn. She nods to Josi, eyes still on the two hatchlings. Glittering Gavotte Egg twitches, jerks once, and is then still for a moment. A whole series of little jerks and shudders begin to rock it back and forth, then, until it dislodges itself and rolls down the slope to bump into a small cluster of eggs. Cierra nods, "Kariel deserved him.." she says quickley, looking about the sands and spotting the next brown, "He's lovely too!" she says. There is a cracking noise and a startled screech from a small blue dragonet standing where once the pretty Flaming Flamenco Egg was nestled into the sands, but there's no sign of that egg now. After a moment of looking around with rapidly swirling eyes he decides to move out towards the white objects that have caught his attention. Then the one with the green eyes catches his attention and he closes in to claim the young miss from Desert Isle to be his lifemate. Dhinara's feet now begin to feel the heat of the caverns. Now that her attentions have been refocused and not so scattered. The left foot rises, then the right as soon left was put down. Left, right, left, right. Slowly and rhythmically. Sria's eyes quicken over the emerging dragonet from the Zarabunda Egg, and then her gaze is called to the seacrafter's Impression. Glancing over the gorgeous gold, she nods absently to her sister's rambles and then murmurs appreciatively at the new brown. Ebbriah makes a 'mmm' sound as she spots the new brown. "Looking...dark." Not Ebbry's style, quite. "Like he needs some perking up!" She giggles as she wipes sweat from her brow. Talgor cheers for Kariel, "Well done!" and then moves in a little more as the number of eggs, dragons and candidates seems to have met a sort of half way point. Still, he finds that there is more going on than he can watch at once. Wind of Spring Serenade Gold flips her wings about, trying to fold them neatly to her back, but they're clumsy things so early on. She gives a little snort of good-humored annoyance, and starts forward slowly on legs that grow steadier with each step. So this is the way of it. She pauses in movement, and tries out her voice again with a deep and sweet croon. Rest in Peace Brown hisses and growls as he claws his ways out of the shell, emerging from the egg and immediatly falling into a crouch before it. And right before a small mixed group of boys and girls. A moment as he seems to collect himself and then his head lifts, eyes a blaze of crimson red, and in one girls face he gives a sharp and angry, *BUGLE* and takes a swipe at her with those sharp claws. Of course he misses, but never the less it could be quite terrifying. Arimyrh steps out from her spot behind the other candidate, eyeing the brown a bit skeptically...a sudden sigh of relief claims her as she confirms, "Shells...thought he was bloodied, for a moment." Casmira smiles at the gold...."What a lovely voice she has." If anthing else is going on, she doesn't see it. Glittering Gavotte Egg rebounds off of a largish egg and rolls to a stop. Apparently whoever was inside did NOT like that ride at all, because it begins to jerk and rock in place vigorously. Someone wants out...and wants out in a big way! Some Hatchings are over before you know it. The Obsidian Dancing Shadows Egg isn't one of them. It rocks, stops, rocks again, stops again, and is still for a time. Finally, a crack appears, and a sleepy-looking blue head pokes out of the top. The head disappears back into the egg for a minute, as if the occupant had decided to go back to sleep after all...but finally, the little blue emerges onto the sands with a huge yawn. He takes his own sweet time about wandering over to the Candidates, nosing first at one, then another. Finally, he plops himself down directly in front of a skinny girl with short hair, with a sleepy croon. His new lifemate doesn't seem to mind at all, though-she's awake enough (and happy enough) for both of them as they're led off the sands. Synna, as hard as she tries to fight admiring the new queen, can't win. Giving in, she just offers a subdued sigh with a shaded smile. "Where's she headed?" A glance is cast upon the remaining girls, as though she were trying to determine who the young queen might like. Hiriwa fidgets and gasps as the latest brown bugles and swipes. "Oh dear... I hope they got out of the way." she manages in an anxious tone, watching that group closely. The gold, yes, she gets the occasional glance but there is just so much happening at once. Ebbriah takes in her breath sharply and smiles shakily all at once. "Watch for this one, folks!" she calls out, indicating the brown. Not they probably didn't catch that swipe themselves! Hardly a glance can be spared for the gold or the shuddering egg now that the brown is prowling about! Cierra oohs, clasping her hands together at the gold hatchling's croon, "Ooh, she's beautiful!" Switching her gaze from the gold to the brown her eyes widen, "Uhoh! Looks like he isn't to happy!" Josilina just smiles at the golds noisemaking, "She'll be a gentler on the ears than her brothers." she remarks wryly, wincing promptly at the browns bugle. "See?" she says with a grimice. "What /is/ it with them?" She hops briskly from one foot to the other, taking up another chant, "OwHotOwHot." luckily it's short lived. Redus chuckles as he hear Ebbriahs comments and watches the movement of the hatchlins carefully. His hand comes up slowly to point at the hissing Peace Brown as he smiles. "Don't think he's happy." he remarks. "And another blue. I'm losing track here...." He says in a sigh. Arimyrh jumps back as she awards the brown newfound respect, "Tricky little temper there, hmm?" she tries to stand confidently in the guise that this was just a muse, but her knees are definitely wobbling, now. S'din comes back to Kariel and Lloyth again, "Come now Kariel, I'm sure your new lifemate would love to get something to eat. So let's go up to the ledge." Sria gasps sharply as she watches the brown hatchling's swipe, and seems ready to dodge those very sharp claws, should he take his actions down the line. That stray wave is tucked behind her ear again, feet having dug substantial trenches in the sand. Wind of Spring Serenade Gold tilts her head to the side, then lowers it to the sand, investigating the changed perspective that neck movement affords. A moment later, she's peering between her legs, upside down, at the Rest in Peace Brown. Carefully she untucks her head from beneath her legs, and slowly gets herself turned around. At a leisurely but purposeful pace, she starts toward her brown clutchmate. Dhinara's gaze tries to flip between the brown and gold but she reigns it back in again and sweeps a look across the remaining candidates. One breath, two breaths... one foot up, one foot down. One hand rings the other nervously and, though she opens her mouth to say something, she closes it again without comment. Kariel smiles and walks off with Lloyth beside her. Carianna keeps out of the way of the hatchlings as they move taking a moment to shake sand from a sandal as she does and keeping an eye of the large dragonets. Well, THAT doesn't seem to be working. The Glittering Gavotte Egg pauses, as if the occupant is thinking it through, and then begins to rock rhythmically in place. More and more vigorously, the egg rocks, until it seems certain that it'll start to roll again. Kariel has left. Lloyth has left. Ebbriah blinks as the gold approaches the brown, then nods to Redus. "I don't think so either! But what's she doing there?" She goes nearly on tip-toe in order to best see the interaction that's about to take place. A bright forest green sends her head poking up through the top of the Velvet Minuet Egg, and then gives a bit of a surprised creel as it starts to roll forward. The momentary panic is ended though when her forelegs break through the shell and she takes off into a stumbling run towards the candidates. At first she doesn't find who she is looking for, sending more than one candidate diving out of the way, till one candidate diving out of the way from rushing blue bumps into her directly. It doesn't take more than an instant, but they're both sure in that flicker of time, the accidental bumping ending both of their quests for the perfect lifemate. Mylarran shifts again hoping the brown comes closer. Cierra can't help but giggle at the gold.. she has such personality! Meanwhile, she's trying a new tactic for cooling her feet.. standing on one till its too hot, then switching. Needless to say, it isn't really working. Talgor takes a step over towards the group who got swiped at, just in case his help is needed. Seeing that everyone looks okay, if a little shook up he moves back again, sure to keep a wary eye on the dangerous looking brown. Synna smirks, watching the little gold head twist and move as she inspects anything and everything. "Where'd that brown... There he is." Giving equal gawking time to each hatchling, this candidate shakes her feet again, one at a time, trying to dislodge more gritty sand. Casmira chuckles at the golds performance, and then suddenly realizes her feet are burning! Ack! She jumps, shifting first one up and then the other. Oh *shards*, that hot! Josilina bites her lip to stifle a giggle, "Sri! Look at her! She looks like Lanara was when she was real little." Well...kinda. Hophop. ShuffleHop. Hiriwa fidgets some more, hissing as she accidently kicks some sand over the top of her feet - the tops aren't used to the heat as yet. "Another green, so pretty." she states idly, brushing stray wisps of hair from her eyes as she looks for what's hapening with the brown. Eshandra watches the brown cautiously, stepping slightly to one side. Her attention is on Arimyrh as much as it is on the hatchling. Tarlon shifts his weight on his feet, again, rubbing the palms of his hands on the sides of his robes as if to dry them, his eyes on the still rocking egg. Rest in Peace Brown growls as he turns his head from side to side, looking the lines of remaining candidates up and down. The wings on his back stretch up and out, dripping goo languidly onto the sand. Drip...drip...drip...And then his mouth opens in something like a snarl and her rears back on his hind legs in a surprising show of strength and, for a moment, agility. His wings fan to keep his balance and he gives off a series of angry trumpets, before falling to his four feet again. Still in front of the group her swipe at her lunges forward and snaps his mouth open and closed, before turning to move away from them a bit. Hissing, spitting and growling angrily as he goes. And then he takes another swipe at a boy, missing again, and this time it seems he does it on purpose. Trying to scare folks back and away from him perhaps? Glittering Gavotte Egg does, in fact, roll over-and that's enough to crack the shell. More cracks appear, and then more still, as the occupant begins to break free. Finally the Glittering Gavotte Egg is strewn apart to reveal a spirited Green dragonet.
Forest Trail Concerto GreenWhispering reeds of sullen pine and olive lazily shade the rounded contours of shapely muscle and bone with elegant darkness. Faint sighs of brightness, those glittering hints of yellow and ivory that dapple her neckridges, wide hips and accent her lush haunches like fallen sun-faded leaves, offer a visual respite from the swarming shadows of smoky emerald and misty grey. Her chest is broad, as are her sculpted shoulders, the colors here lightening into a shy grassy blush, lit somewhere deep within. Full notes, ripe with yearning, radiate down the throat to the belly, making a deep carpet of velvet mosses bejeweled with silver flecks of dew. Tipped with onyx, traced with threads of silver, her shapely muzzle is handsome and stately, her large eyes framed in ebony that curls away at the corners like wisps of wood smoke, melting into pine. Sprouting up from her back, massive midnight wings, colorless and inky fan out with a sorrowful rush of wind. Like the rest of her round shape, her wings seem soft and plush, the sails thick and strong, stretched with black velvet and strung with spinner-webs of brilliant emerald. Fore limbs and hind are soaked in darkness to the first joint with tendrils of bright emerald and silver drizzling a lacework of thin vines that fades with melancholy sweetness into the shadows of pine and forest.
Tarlon's face splits into a bright grin, as he actually managed to be looking to right way at the right time, for once. He turns his head, about to speak, and then grins at himself, remembering that K'hen's already found his. Casmira backs up a bit, even though she isn't really close to the brown..."Gee, wonder what's got him so upset?" She sees the green hatch, and smiles, but looks back to the gold. Eshandra steps closer to Arimyrh. "You ok?" she asks quietly, if it can be called quiet amidst this cacaphony of noise. One hand lifts to touch the girls arm lightly. Arimyrh frowns deeply at the brown, clear worry playing in her features as she eyes the Gold nearing him. "Needs to be tamed like a wher, he does..." Sria watches the Wind of Spring Serenade Gold approach her clutchmate, and can't resist a grin at that comment. "Of course she does," is her able reply, and she utters a sharp, almost admiring breath as the brown swings again. She catches the Gavotte Egg's green hatchling out of the corner of her eye. Ebbriah swallows as she watches the brown. "Oh, look out!" she calls needlessly, taking a tiny step forward, then a tiny step back, both for the heat of the sands and the worry that's beginning to build up inside her chest, before her attention is snagged by the green. "Ooh, my, another. Very nice!" She clears her throat nervously. Forest Trail Concerto Green shakes her head vigorously to clear it of the last bits of shell. She flips up her wings and fixes her former abode with a *look*. With a tart little creel, she butts at it with her head, a if chastising it for keeping her IN when she wanted to be OUT! Wind of Spring Serenade Gold approaches the Rest in Peace Brown from the side and lowers her head to give him a firm nudge with her muzzle. Eyes whirl rapidly as she fixes her gaze upon him, and gives voice to yet another low croon. It's just as mellow as the previous one, but there's something more, a definite hint of command underlaid. She sits back on her haunches to observe the effect of her prodding. Cierra's eyes alight when she seems the newest hatchling.. the little green. "Wow, she's pretty!" A glance about for the brown along with Synna, "Want to keep an eye on him.. he's not the friendliest little guy." she says with a chuckle. Josilina offers a soft, "Wow." At the arrival of the newest green, "Heeey. Lookit. She's all dark and...wow, look at her legs. They have bright bits, and silver bits...." She trails off in her happy little color-bliss state. "Shells...they're everywhere." she adds, drifting out of her daze and looking about. Hiriwa mms softly. "One to be wary of." she notes about the brown, shifting her weight as she watching gold and brown interract. "Strange..." Then another movement catches her eye. "Another green!" Casmira chuckles..."the gold is barely hatched, and she's already bossy." Synna wrinkles her nose at the actions of the brown. "He's mean... Sweet Faranth." She does her best to step back and away if the hatchling nears her. "Oh look... Maybe she's going to soften him up before he impresses. Oh, another green too! Is it just me, or have all these dragonets had really pretty coloring?" Chloe watches the gold and the brown together. With a nod, a smile tugs at her lips. "I'm sure that'll do it." She sends another glance to the brown, then looks towards the newly hatched green, chuckling at her movements. The Yesteryear's Step Egg rocks back and forth several times before it manages to hatch a surprised green with whirling red eyes. Hey, what is this place? She starts to explore it, sniffing the various round things, white things, and the very big gold thing in her way. At an encouraging croon from her sire, she angles confidently back to a small group of Candidates. She selects a tiny blonde from Benden Hold and sits back on her haunches to roar demandingly at him, ignoring the other pretty young women on either side. She says, "Of course you're hungry, Quadith. Being born is very hard work!" The girl carefully leads her green lifemate off the Sands to where the food waits. Dhinara takes a deep breath as she's hot-stepping in her little spot on the sands. Must remember to breath. "They're so... expressive," she finally settles on, though the word is said without any sort of surety. Rest in Peace Brown is clearly startled at the nudge against his shoulder and turns his red gaze on the Wind of Spring Serenade Gold. For a moment he seems taken by surprise and doesn't react, then he croons ina softer, less agitated tone, and leans in to nudge her back. Except it is more of a nuzzle. Either way he calms down just a touch so that when he looks back at the candidates, though he does growl, he doesn't swipe. Ebbriah smiels shakily as she looks at the golden one's attempts to control the brown. "Well, she'll be a /great/ gold, already got it all sorted out, doesn't she?" she muses, nodding to Redus, though her eyes are still warily fixed on the brown, only occasionally flicking to the green and gold. Sria watches and listens, a smile playing at the corner of her mouth. "Not sure he's going to stand to be bossed...though perhaps." she says unsurely, before nodding to Synna, "they have. Though perhaps it's the proximity." she adds thoughtfully. Casmira congratulates several successful candidates, now riders, but keeps watching the gold...."She's going to do well. She's not even impressed yet and she's already solving problems." Forest Trail Concerto Green sniffs indignantly. Her egg duly chastised, she turns her attention to her new surrounds. Hmm...big. Bright. And loud! For a moment, it looks as if she's having second thoughts about the whole thing, considering climbing back into her shell and staying there for a while. But, no-there's an *empty* feeling, and she doesn't like it at all. Something must be done about it, and she's just the green to do it! Lowering her head, she advances on the white things, her movements unsteady but determined. Hiriwa snorts softly and grins. "She's bossy. Whoever has her will have a handful to argue with all the time." returns Hiriwa to Casmira. "But that's probably a good thing in a gold. Oooh, another green - congratulations!" The last is to the Benden Hold blond. Cierra nods in agreement with what she hears Ebbriah say, "She's so sweet.. yet she got him under control pretty quick!" Her gaze moves from the little gold-brown drama to the green, smiling as she watches. Talgor is excited as another green hatches out. He makes sure he's safely aware of what the brown is doing but at the same time he tries to watch the forest green as much as he can. Ebbriah smiles at the green as she gets her feet. "Look at her, too! They all three have some kind of...determination. Guess they all do. Makes sense." She's merely rambling now, neatly covering over her now nervous shifts in the sand. Tarlon steps once to the side, hopping slightly to cool his heels a moment, and keeping his eyes on the green, smiling almost shyly at her actions. Spinning once, The Swirled Slam Dance Egg ends its haching act with and explosive split in half, a largish green spreading her wings immediately upon being free. The dark green coloured hatchling stalks around the grounds, looking for the right person. Her eye look past a older lad to a young girl standing behind him, she croons and races towards the girl, forgetting there is a lad in the way, she knocks the lad over and races towards the girl, her eyes the purple of love. The girl says her new lifemate's name in a cheerful voice, scratching the greens eye ridges. Arimyrh nurtures a smirk as she nods amirably towards the gold, "Hah...nice work...and it just goes to show that this one's 'bark's a bit worse than his bite," she openly observes, shaking her head at the Rest in Peace brown, as if attesting, 'you don't scare me'. Wind of Spring Serenade Gold receives the brown's answering nuzzle with neck arched and head held high, gracious and dignified. She sends an approving whuff of warm air down over him, and gets to her feet once more. A brief look, communication exchanged, and then she turns away, pushing up to her feet and waddling off toward the nearest group of Candidates. Their attention belongs there, now, but in her bearing there's every confidence that the Rest In Peace Brown will follow. Carianna continues to congratulate those impressing as she watches the hatchlings while doing her sidesteps to relieve her feet some. Casmira congratulates the girl who got the green, and shift her feet again. Rest in Peace Brown is again distracted by his glittering gold sister and watches her move ahead of him. His wings lift and flutter again, but he doesn't seem as agitated. As if it were draining out of him. But then someone just has to move towards him slightly and his hear swerves and he gives an open mouthed hiss towards the boy. At least he doesn't swipe. And then he is encouraged, through that boys actions, to move after his golden sister. His feet picking up as he moves with a shadow's grace across the sands. Occasionally growling and making sudden movements towards candidates, watching the reactions of the candidates very carefully. Synna keeps a thoughtful eye on the green now and then, just to be safe. At the moment though, the snarling brown and queen's interaction are a bit more interesting. "I think I heard a term for that once... Whipped, was it?" She mutters this to Cierra, grinning broadly. Josilina grins at the brown, "Hey! He listened to her! That's sort of neat." Somehow in an abstract way anyway. She calls out the typical congratulations to all those who recently found their lifemates, before poking her sister, "She's like Mama too. All...dignified and strict." She remarks about the gold dragonet. "And he's just grumpy." That's about the brown. Eshandra grins at Arimyrh, her concern fading. Then her eyes try to soak up everything happening all at once. Giving her head a shake as if to clear it, she looks around and sees the green hatchling for the first time. Ebbriah continues to watch the brown, her shoulder-once tensed-have relaxed considerably since the gold did her bit of prodding. She now just continues to shift, fidgeting with her hands at the sides of her robe, occasionally flying up to tap at her pale blonde hair as if neatening it. Casmira holds very still, even barely moving her feet and only wher she *has* to, so as not to further upset the brown. She also tenses as he gets close, ready to move away if needed. But her eyes keep being drawn back to the gold.... Hiriwa shifts, her gaze on the the dark little green who found a girl and knocked a lad over in the process. "Well done!" she calls, glacening to wards the forest green and then back to the brown. And the gold. "Grumpy. He needs taking in hand." is her wisdom, haveing caught what Josilina said. Chloe arches a brow at that, smiling lightly. She chuckles as she catches Synna's words. She glances to Josi, then back towards the hatchlings, tilting her head to the side a bit. Her hands rest on her hips, her shifting feet giving the appearence of tapping. Matheny watches the exchange between the dragonets and then tells S'rist, "I'll be more comfortable with that brown after he impresses and has a lifemate to keep control of him. Seems to have a lot of spirit to him." Sria keeps a wary eye turned on the interacting clutchsiblings, watching Impressions around. She sees the Forest Trail Concerto Green coming and keeps shifting on her toes, her posture remaining straight, before nudging her sister back, "He's less grumpy than he is - demanding...or agressive," she attempts. Forest Trail Concerto Green pauses for a moment to watch her clutchmates, gold and brown. She creels questioningly at them, and starts to follow in that direction...but no. What she wants isn't over there. She veers abruptly, heading towards a mixed cluster of male and female Candidates. S'rist nods a bit, "Yeah, we'll have to keep a watch on that one, bound to cause all sorts of troubles he is." Cierra, as well as letting out congratulations to those Impressing about her, watches the gold and brown interact. She giggles to Synna, nodding, "Well, males are males.." she jokes, "And it seems this little gold was born with that female knack to it.." getting males whipped, that is. Her gaze is caught again by the Forest green who's veering about the sands. Dhinara's ears catch all the various conversations flowing around her and she nods absently at a comment directed to her by a nearby candidate. Her feet are again numbed to the heat by her distraction as the three different hatchlings try to find their lifemates. A gold, a brown, a green. Where to look next? Highland Fling Plaid Egg shivers in its place, an almost imperceptible movement in the flurry of hatching eggs and stumbling hatchlings. Perhaps it's imagination fooling you into believing that it moved at all. Redus eases a little closer to Carianna as the brown and gold make their way down the line, his eyes on the brown mostly. This brin him closer to that Forest green hatchling and he looks up her and smiles. Josilina makes a face, returning to her shifting and hopping with a vengence. "It's so hot." she mutters. HopHophop. It's kinda fun too. A quick nod goes Hiri's way, "That little gold did a pretty good job." she remarks. HopShuffleHop. "'Least she's not loud either." She notes with a nod towards the green. "Agressive, sure. But grumpy too." Is said to Sria. Wind of Spring Serenade Gold croons a greeting to the line of Candidates as she reaches them. She subjects them to a close scrutiny. First a fawn-haired girl, then a tall boy- no, that's not right. Just a bit further down the line -- there, where two girls with a resemblance to one another are standing. She pauses in front of the one with copper curls, and warbles with delight, eyes shaded a loving violet as her tail snakes out to encircle the girl's legs. Synna chuckles a bit more before putting on a serious face. "Indeed." She rubs at the back of her neck gently. "I'm getting a headache. So many places to follow." Tarlon bounces slightly on the balls of his feet for a moment, before then rocking back onto his heels, trying to find another way of keeping his feet from melting into the Hatching Sands, though he stills himself as the green makes her way closer to a group of the Candidates. Ebbriah purses her lips as the green veers off to the side. "Look there, well-" she breathes, her eyes resting more frequently on the green now that her fear of the brown has subsided significantly. She nods to Redus as he shifts away, feeling slightly singular in her standing. At last the Wind of Spring Serenade Gold looks deeper into the cobalt eyes of a girl with curls of copper fire. Mylarran smiles... Sria adds, somewhat complacently, "or just mischievous," before her gaze flits to the Highland Fling Plaid Egg. "Ooh, that's a loud one, I think..." She drops her sister's hand, stepping back and clasping both hands over her mouth, an amazing grin visible between her fingers. Arimyrh stands tall, her eyes wide as she sweeps her gaze around, though not straying long from a careful assessment of the brown and his whereabouts in proximity to her. Forest Trail Concerto Green keeps her head low, close to the sand. It looks for all the world as if she's inspecting the Candidates' feet. A pair of sandles is examined, rejected, then the feet of a largish, burly boy. She lifts her head, looking around in unhappy bewilderment, then goes back to her investigations. Josilina hops. Hops a lot. Hot sand. OuchOuch....ouch? A tail wraps itself around her ankles and she pales, looking positivly stunned. If Josi was a one to faint, she would right about now. But she doesn't, instead just holds a hand out to the young queen, resting one hand on her head. "Lhiannonth? Yes! Of course you are...your even better." she murmurs, turning to give her sister a brief, amazed grin. "She's Lhiannonth Sri!" Synna looks towards Josilina, with a knowing nod. "Congratulations!" she calls out, turning back to the remaining hatchlings with a curious gaze. "Where'd that little green go again." Rest in Peace Brown pauses before one terrified candidate and watches them closely. Then, seemingly out of simple enjoyment at the reaction, snaps at them. But then he pulls his head back and lifts it high, something catching his gaze by the golden clutchmate. A soft sound, not a hiss, not a growl, but more a curious *Rooee?* And he starts forward at a much faster pace. In fact, he almost seems like he is going for a running leap at a candidate standing near to the Winds of Spring Serenade Gold's new lifemate. And then he does leap, wings going wide, as if he was trying to take off. Instead they just flutter like a long, leathery coat with two tails behind him as he lands and then tumbles into his chosen mate. The one that bears a resemblance to the gold's chosen one. The attention of the Rest in Peace Brown seems to be entirely trained upon a girl with elegant eyebrows and shadowy blonde hair as he gazes into her face. Arimyrh distracts as a glimmer of green claims her curiosity, then. The sight of the scouting green causes her to smile. Casmira sees the gold impress, and her eyes widen. "Way to go Josilina!" she calls.."Whoo hoo!" Hiriwa holds her breath. "Who... Josilina!" The name is a gasp, "Oh Josi!" She bounces in place again, a ridiculously happy grin on her face. "What's her name? Lhiannonth! And Sria! Oh perfect! Perfect perfect perfect!" Highland Fling Plaid Egg tries again. It definitely isn't imagination any more as the shivering becomes a downright quaking, and cracks begin to appear around the base. Then it stops again, apparently worn out by the energy it took to begin those cracks. It rests, gathering strength. Tarlon drags his eyes away from the green, noticing Josilina and calling out a loud congratulations to the girl who made his robes. "Woo hoo, Josi-girl!!" Cierra's hands reach to fiddle with her robe a little, the joking just keeping her mind of what is happening all around her. "Oh.. i know. It's all so exciting, though!" She looks over to the gold impression with widened eyes, "Oh, congratulations!" she calls, a wide grin across her face.. and an almost amazed look on her face. But, she cannot spend too much time on the other Impressions.. she looks back to the brown and green. Lhiannonth croons again with utter contentment, and presses her head up against Josilina's hand, guiding her chosen one's fingers to /just/ the right spot for scratching. Dhinara watches the brown and gold impress right next to eachother and almost laughs outright. "He really did follow her!" she remarks, obviously meaning the gold and brown. M'llon has arrived. Ebbriah blinks and cheers for Josilina. "Alright!" she calls, adding another for what seems to be her sister's impression. She watches the new pairs briefly before looking for the green again. Carianna smiles over to Josi and calls out, "Congratulations." As she watches the impression. Oh you too Sria." Sria blinks, exclaiming happily to her sister, tears trailing down her face, before she erupts into tears for the brown before her, "Oh, Sruth, of course, of course I love you," she drops to her knees, hugging the brown head to her robe. Chloe looks to Josilina and the gold wrapped around her legs. She takes a step away, closer to Sria. "Oh.. congratulations, Jos. It's a pretty name.." And then she looks to Sria, on her other side. "And you too.. Another pretty name." Casmira chhers again, for Sria..."Well done!" Forest Trail Concerto Green stops, her creel turning into a curious warble. What's this? Toes! Ten of them, in fact. She noses at them, curiously, and then inspects the legs they're attached to...and then the young woman who owns both toes and legs. THIS is the one she wants! Cierra oohs with surprise as Sria Impresses right after her sister, "Wow! Congratulations you both!" Can that grin get any bigger.. she's just so excited for everyone else. But -- there is another green wandering about out there, so she looks back out. Arimyrh nods sagely towards Sria, offering a, "Best to be firm with that one," before adding good cheer to Josilina and her impression. The Multihued Twist Egg gives no sign of moving at all, no sounds, no rocking, until the small head peeking up reveals that the little brown within has been slowly picking apart at the top of the egg, and has formed quite a hole at the top. Then with an impressive show of strength the little brown hops up out of the egg! Unfortunately he didn't hop forward, just straight up, so he comes back down and squashes his egg underneath him. The mirthful laugh of a candidate out of Lewis Hold at the brown's jump and resulting egg crush brings the attention of the brown over to him. That's all the young brown needs, and the signs of impression show in both their eyes before the brown is within a dozen feet of the young man. Sruth gives the first croon since he hatched and it is happy. His tail thumps against the ground, sending up a tuft of sand. Then his mouth opens and grabs a gentle hold on Sria's hair and begins to munch it. Redus chuckles as Josi hops then a broad smiles appears. "Congratulations, Josilina." he calls. His eyes go to the brown again as he's still about. He lets his guard in that direction hold for a moment as he gives the Plaid egg a glance. Josilina still looks all nice and faint-able. All the congratulations go right over her head, as she applies gentle scritches to the golds head. "Sria? Oh yay!" She manages to get out. Hey look, her face is going to split in two, that smiles so big. M'llon smiles at Josilina and Lhiannonth as he approaches them, speaking softly to them he points the way back to the ledge, "Just go in there.. Amilin will help take care of you." The whirling eyes of the Forest Trail Concerto Green meet those of a girl who seems to be all arms and legs. Redus ohs as he realizes he shouldn't have glanced at that Plaid egg. "Congrats Sri." he adds before checking up on the green hatchling he smiled at. M'llon moves on to Sruth and Sria, "Follow your sister, right through their to the weyrleader's ledge. I am imagining someone is hungry by the looks of things." Josilina, all dazzled eyed, nods vaguely to M'llon, "Yessir." she murmurs, heading in the indicated direction, hand never leaving Lhiannonth's head. And look...she's stopped hopping. Talgor cheers as many impress right in a row, "Well done!" He looks very happy for those who are chosen and looks back at the remaining eggs, not giving up yet. Hiriwa beams happily, watching the news weyrlings -- and she sees the green find someone. "Oh Eshandra! That's just right, it surely is." Josilina has left. Josilina has arrived. Yenne chuckles. "He's a bit on the possessive side, looks like. Temornath looks forward to meeting him, you know. Says he looks like a kind young bronze." From the sands> Sruth spits out Sria's hair after getting it nicely soggy. Then he sees M'llon and growls at the bronzerider darkly, pushing in front of Sria protectively. From the sands> Sria wipes her eyes and giggles happily, "Oh, yes, right away, just come this way..." she extracts her hair from the brown and keeps near him as she heeds M'llon's directions. From the sands> Synna's hope fades just a tad as she looks to the remaining hatchlings, and eggs... if there are any. She can't quite tell amidst all the shards. Eshandra gets a smile for her impression. Kariel nods to Amilin, "I guess so." She smiles at Lloyth, "Oh, you're doing just wonderfully! I'm so proud of you!" From the sands> Chloe watches the green impress, a slight smile curving her lips. Then the brown's. She offers congrats to that pair as well before glancing after the impressed sisters. She spots Eshandra with the green and says, once more, "Congrats." From the sands> Sria has left. Sria has arrived. From the sands> Lhiannonth has left. Lhiannonth has arrived. From the sands> Sruth huffs as he passes M'llon, following after Sria. From the sands> Highland Fling Plaid Egg gives another monumental shake, and the cracks suddenly shoot to the very top of the ovoid, and pieces begin crumbling down to the sand around the it, adding more dust to the hatching floor. From the sands> Ebbriah blinks and smiles as another egg cracks, trying to keep her feet under her properly considering the heat of the sands, still burning. From the sands> Sruth has left. From the sands> Finally the Highland Fling Plaid Egg has hatched forth a melodic Blue dragonet. From the sands> Rhapsody in BlueWelkin shades of summer sea blue wash over the hide of this small dragonet, flitting and flirting in indistinct harmonies of warmth and light. His neck is slender and largely a powdery sky blue while his tail is long and a slightly warmer shade at the tapered tip. Wings, clumsy from lack of use, have very thin wingspars that support full yet nearly transparent mist blue sails that are veined by a deeper, near sapphire color that lends an opalescent air. His summery hued body is compact and thin in an egg-starved fashion but holds the promise of filling out with time and growing more robust with strength. Just as his frame appears a little thin, so too does his face, which gives his eyes the illusion of being larger and therefore more luminous. The purity of the blue of his neck ridges make them appear just a little bit like southern ocean waves driven to energetic peaks. Just as the patterns of sunny brine blues patter over him in a light staccato his motions are also packed full of a twitchy and carefree energy that seems to be without end.
From the sands> Cierra can't believe it.. another Impression -- this time the green. Another congratulations is given out and she looks over to the Plaid Egg just in time to see the hatching. From the sands> Arimyrh cannot help but spare a hoot of congratulations for the girl who stood obstinately by and remained her friend throughout it all. Her exhuberance suddenly queells as she peers over towards the Rhapsody in Blue. From the sands> Hiriwa lets out a breathy sigh and then catches it again as another blue hatches. "Not many... and yet another blue. He's lovely." From the sands> Mylarran moves up a little, maybe the sand won't be so hot here. He watches the blue. From the sands> Chloe sees the blue impress, smiling a bit more. She nods in agreement with Hiriwa. "He's lovely, all right." Her gaze goes over the few eggs left, then goes back to the blue. From the sands> Synna spies a glimpse of blue and catches her breath. Her eyes close slowly and fingers cross as she mutters something quietly to herself. From the sands> Dhinara blinks as she looks around. "Where did...?" she begins, a hint of questioning in her voice, though she pauses as her gaze catches on the blue. Confusion fills her eyes, but excitement rears up shortly thereafter and she moves to fill in a gap left by a previous impression. From the sands> Rhapsody in Blue stills shivers on the sands, still trying to shake away the shards of his eggs, not realizing that he's free at last. Then, one reddened eye peaks open, and then both jerk open! What's all this? No more egg, but many, many confusing shapes and movements. He slowly puts his small talons down onto the sand, and swings his head around, blinking, trying to sort it all out. From the sands> Cierra peers at Synna, catching sight of the muttering and finger-crossing.. "Blue?" she asks, "He's beautiful! Just like the ocean.." From the sands> Ebbriah smiles as the blue hatches. "Ooh, look there!" she cries, pointing to the blue and hopping about a bit. "Isn't he a lovely one?" She picks up one foot and then the other as the heat seeps through. From the sands> Talgor hops forward and then back again though by now he is almost used to the heat. He looks around trying to figure out who it is that the lovely green has paired up with. From the sands> Mylarran nods, "Very...think he'll head our way?" From the sands> Synna opens one eye to watch the hatchling. "He is," she whispers. "Is he the last of them?" From the sands> Chloe almost chuckles at the look of confuzion about him. She comments to a near-by candidate, "Think he's okay?" Her feet continue to shift on the sand, still appearing to be tapping. From the sands> Hiriwa scans the sands swiftly, noting the many scattered shards and not many big round ovoids. "A few more to go." she murmurs, nervously fiddling with the end of her long braid. From the sands> Casmira sighs at the blue..."He's a nice one." She sifts her feet again. From the sands> Rhapsody in Blue begins to rotate, his small body following his head, and steps on something.. a wing? He tries to lift it, which lifts his foot, and sends him tumbling with a undignified squeak. He rights himself with a slight shake of the head. Right, it's attached, but what does it do? He lifts the wing up and stretches it, examining it curiously. Then down... wing up, wing down... From the sands> Cierra shakes her head along with a shrug, "I don't know.. I can't tell amongst all the broken shells." she says. The string of impressions having a lull, the pain in her feet comes back, "Ouch! It's /hot/." Mhm, she's a smart one, huh? From the sands> A young lad from Keogh Hold gives out a cry of joy as he watches a newly hatched green rush straight for him. The two spend several moments face to face, completely ignoring both the assistant weyrlingmaster tapping him on the shoulder to move off the sands, as well as the large curved piece of the Feathery Fan Egg that got stuck onto the young green's back that she hasn't bothered to shake off yet. From the sands> Ebbriah grins at the blue before registering how empty the sands now look. "Seems as though we're getting down to the end," she comments with a nervous giggle for emphasis. Her hands clasp behind her, then switch and tightly knot before her. From the sands> Eshandra's eyes widen until it looks like they might fall from her head and she reaches out to hug the green, an ecstatic grin on her face. "Oh, Arikelth, we'll get you taken care of right now." From the sands> Carianna smiles over to Eshandra as she catches her barracks mate impressing. "How wonderful." She calls out lightly then turns her attention to the newest hatchling. "Oh blue." From the sands> M'llon frowns after Sruth, "That one is going to be trouble." He moves over to Eshandra and Arikelth, putting a hand on her shoulder to get her attention, "You need to go right through there to the ledge, Amilin can get you settled with what you need." From the sands> Redus watches the Forest green and Eshandra together and smiles. "Way to go. Eshy." and when the new blue dragon appears he's drawn away again. "Ah..." he says on a breath as he studies the different shades in that one's hide. His feet are hot, doesn't matter if he steps anymore, so he just watches. From the sands> Casmira smiles..."Congratulations Eshandra." From the sands> Hiriwa stifles a little giggle and calls congratulations to the Keogh Hold lad and his green. "Another one..." she murmurs, forehead creasing as she tries to count. From the sands> Arikelth croons adoringly at Eshandra, gently nudging the girl with her head. From the sands> Arimyrh's eyes dart upwards to the galleries, once more, scanning the faces a moment. The tumbling form of the blue, however, demands further notice, and with a pained smile, she softly coaxes the boy back up. From the sands> Dhinara manages a small, exuberant wave to Eshandra as she notices the impression and mouths, "Congrats!" even if Esha can't see her. From the sands> Synna reaches back to let her hair down, shaking out the wet mop. Drops of sweat bead as they hit the hot sands. "He's cute," she says, again comlimenting the little blue. Amusement keeps hold of her expression as he tests out his limbs. From the sands> Chloe wrinkles her nose at the sight of the blue falling over. Out of the corner of her eye, she sees another green impress. After calling her congrats over, she looks back to the blue, grinning as she watches the wing moving. From the sands> Eshandra rises, looking stunned, confused, and filled with joy all at the same time. Nodding to M'llon, she starts in the direction indicated. From the sands> Eshandra has left. From the sands> Cierra nods, "He's trying to figure out how his wings work.." she says with a chuckle. From the sands> Rhapsody in Blue bobs his head, following the movement with of his wing, and, what's this? Another one? He turns and looks, and sure enough, another wing has joined it's fellow, up, down, up, down! This is good! But what are they supposed to do? He hops a little, and comes down in tangle, landing on his downsept wings with another undignified squeak. From the sands> Ebbriah calls to Eshandra as she heads off, just a simple, bright and cheery congratulations before her attention shifts to the blue again, eyes flickering over his small (for a dragonet) body. She giggles in her normal, chipper manner. "There you are, you'll get it!" she calls out. From the sands> Arikelth has left. From the sands> Carianna smiles as she watches the blue but mindful of its path and to stay away from those sharp claws. From the sands> Hiriwa hides her amusement then, smiling wistfully as she sees the blue land on his wings all in a tangle. "It'll get better." she observes softly. "Truely." From the sands> Talgor rubs his hands down over the sides of his robe, the heat starting to take it's toll on the palms of his hands. From the sands> Synna purses her lips and steps out of her sandals with a distant and yet somehow determined look. Letting out a sigh as she rolls her head around, she moves her shoulders up and down a few times before leaning over to grab her footwear. "I can't wait to hit the baths after this," she murmurs to Cierra. Still a glimmer of hope remains in her eyes as she watches the blue out of the corner of her vision. From the sands> Arimyrh lifts a hand and rubs at her brow, shaking her head in bemusement, "He'll be needing a little work, he will." From the sands> Chloe takes a step forward, though it may just be to keep her feet moving on the sands. She crosses her arms over her chest, eyeing the brown as he falls once more. "Well.. he's clumsy," she idly comments. From the sands> Cierra giggles, following the blue with her eyes, "He's trying! Got to give him credit for that!" she nods to Synna in silent agreement, wiping her forehead with one sleeve. Lloyth manages a loving warble, the following belch a good deal more delicate than that of his bronze brother. From the sands> Redus grins as he watches the Blue worry about the wings rather than walking. "Gonna be hard keeping that one down...once he figures out how to stay up." he whispers. Sria's expression changes to near-panic as she turns back from congratulating Esha. "Oh, oh you itch - here, let me fix it," she looks around for some oil and grabs a nearby jar, slathering it generously across brown hide. From the sands> Dhinara peers incredulously at the blue. "I, er, he.. I mean, well shells! He's just all turned around." She raises a hand to her mouth, covering a giggle. From the sands> Casmira shifts her feet, again, on the hot sands. From the sands> Rhapsody in Blue arduously manages to pull one wing out from underneath, then the other. He lifts them and inspects each one as he raises them. Hmmph. Maybe he needs help. He looks around for help. He squints those red eyes and notes the white things for the first time. He starts to hop forward with little wing fluttering hops and approaches one of the giggling creatures, and flops to her feet hopefully, she can help him? From the sands> Ebbriah nods over Redus' overheard comment about the blue. "Determination makes stuff happen." Stuff? Ok, so she's not the most articulate girl sometimes. "Start with feet, work way up to wings," she advises with a giggle and a bit of a snort. She wipes at her face again, which by now is a shade of bright red from heat and excitement. From the sands> The Rhapsody in Blue warbles in joy and locks eyes with a girl of auburn tresses and an aquamarine gaze. From the sands> Arimyrh bends at the waist and heaves a great sigh, wiping at her brow, lifting one foot to examine it, blowing at it in vain attempt to cool it, sets it down, then repeats the process with the other. From the sands> Synna drops her posture again, but manages a little smile for Dhinara. "He's a cutie." Her gaze shifts to the Weyrleaders, apparently aware of what follows. From the sands> Hiriwa sighs softly as she sees the last few hatchlings locate for their lifemates -- and sees Dhinara with the blue. "Ooooh! Dhinara! Blue! Lookity look, Dhinara Impressed!" Yes, she's happy. When is she ever otherwise? "What's his name?" She waits, fidgeting, for Dhinara's announcement and then the end. From the sands> Talgor looks around, a little dazed and disappointed to not have impressed but perhaps richer for the experience over all. He looks over to see what Dhinara will say her new lifemate's name is. From the sands> Tarlon kicks at the sand, grimacing as it gets into his sandals, but, he deals with it. He does smile over at Dhinara in congratulations, looking up into the Galleries as though searching for a familiar face. From the sands> Ebbriah clears her throat, face red, still, but perhaps not just from the heat. She waves to the newly impressed and sighs, shifting her feet about some more and wincing. From the sands> Casmira drops her shoulders, very away of her situation. She seems very quiet. From the sands> Carianna smiles to Dhinara as she impresses. "Congratulations." She calls out lightly. From the sands> Mylarran just kinda looks around. From the sands> Casmira calls congratulations to Dhinara. From the sands> Chloe offers a smile towards Dhinara as she idly makes her way over to stand next to Carianna. "Nice hatching, hmm?" she asks, eyes on the last pair of impressees. From the sands> Synna bites her lip once, then places a smile on her lips and nods. "Yes it was." From the sands> Talgor shuffles his feet a little and starts to move in some with a couple of the other candidates, curious to see what will happen now. From the sands> Casmira looks at the others..."It's ok, not everyone impresses. But they'll usuallylet you stay if you want. And you could always get picked again." She doesn't seem to be including herself in that last part. From the sands> Ebbriah takes in a deep breath, sniffing slightly but keeping that fixed smile planted firmly on her face. "Good group they'll have, there." She hastily rubs at her face. From the sands> Tarlon nods his head to Ebbriah's word. "Very good group," he gives a laugh, though it's a trifle forced. "I think I feel very sorry for Amilin and S'din." From the sands> Matheny moves in with S'rist, both so that she can hear what the last blue is named and so that she can help talk to those who did not find their lifemate this time. From the sands> Dhinara locks eyes with the blue hatchling in front of her and the moments seem to slow to a crawl. One hand raises to her chest and she manages to stammer, "I... well. Yes, yes Nyxth. And we'll get you some food too. Oh, and maybe some, um.. oil. Yes, oil. For..." but the girl's litany ceases all in one breathe and she cries out, "He said his name is Nyxth!" as a broad grin curves her lips noticeably upward. From the sands> Redus congratulates the new pair. "Alright, Dhinara and Nyxth!" He smiles and looks at them for a moment more then scans the spot where all the eggs were. He chuckles, muttering to himelf as he wipes his hands on his front again, lifting his feet once more each and shaking them. From the sands> M'llon smiles as he approaches Dhinara and Nyxth, and like he has done so many other times this evening he points them towards the passageway towards the leader's ledges, "Amilin will give you what you need for your dragon." From the sands> S'rist stays at Matheny's side and heads out towards the large number of remaining candidates. Gesturing for them to come and gather over closer to him. From the sands> Casmira walks calmly to S'rist, seemingly egar to get this last part over. From the sands> Mylarran walks over with the group to the Weyrleader and Weyrwoman. From the sands> Chloe smiles slightly, nodding to Ebbriah, then to Tarlon. She taps her fingers on her sides, glancing down to the sand. She clears her throat once more as she looks up, spotting the gesture. She makes her way towards the weyrleaders. From the sands> M'llon looks back towards Cierra as the last pair move off the sands and he prepares to follow, he is conflicted for a moment but stops beside Cierra, "I will be around to talk later if you like, I am sorry, hon." He then starts to follow the rest of the dragons off the sands. From the sands> Tarlon goes as if to shove his hands into his pockets, before realizing that he doesn't have any, before heading over towards S'rist and Matheny. From the sands> Redus herds some of the other candidates toward teh Weyrleaders -- he's already back at work. From the sands> Hiriwa picks her way over the sand, hazel eyes rather bright. Perhaps a little too bright as the fact she hasn't Impressed - again - catches up with her. From the sands> Ebbriah walks over to the Weyrleaders, blinking furiously and attempting to hold that smile. From the sands> Matheny gives a sympathetic look, "You all did very well, not just tonight but in the past months. S'rist and I are sorry that you didn't find a lifemate tonight." From the sands> Nyxth flutters alongside his new lifemate for his first meal. From the sands> Dhinara looks over at M'llon and nods firmly, then looks down at Nyxth. "We'll get you food right away. " before leading off toward where M'llon motioned to. From the sands> S'rist smiles a bit, "This has been an exceptional group of candidates, and I'm certain that if any of you wanted to remain or resume posts at the weyr, that we can find something suitable." From the sands> Tarlon nods his head, "Family, you know. I'd like to stay." From the sands> Matheny listens to S'rist and nods, "And of course if you'd rather have someone give you a ride back to your original home, we can arrange that as well. Though we do hope you'll think about staying as you're a part of the weyr now." From the sands> Nyxth has left. From the sands> Dhinara has left. From the sands> M'llon has left. From the sands> S'rist says "But for the immediate moment, I would like to invite all of you to the living caverns, for we have a banquet ready to get underway." From the sands> Talgor shuffles his feet and looks a little confused and uncertain but attentive. From the sands> Casmira listens, with pain filled eyes, and says nothing. From the sands> Chloe doesn't comment on what her plans are. Unstead, she looks towards the other candidates, gaze resting on a few faces before she shrugs, nodding to S'rist. From the sands> Hiriwa is pensive. "I want to talk with papa." she says before realising she spoke aloud. But there is a quiet look in her face that is more mature than the childish words suggest. "Ah, he was there in the galleries. I'll see him in the bowl." Just tacked on so one knows she isn't asking for a ride anywhere. From the sands> Cierra has left. From the sands> Carianna gasps at the word banquet. "May I be excused to go give Shoshana and Cook a hand? I'm sure they're in need of it." From the sands> Ebbriah clears her throat, seemingly uncertain for a moment. She smiles a bit at Redus, then the others. "Back to laundry for me. Kinda mundane, it seems," she says slowly. "Banquet'll fix that up, though, I'm sure." From the sands> Matheny smiles, "Yes, of course Carianna. You're all free to go." From the sands> Carianna heads up a short flight of steps to the galleries. From the sands> Carianna has left. From the sands> S'rist smiles, "Of course, if that is what you wish to do Cari. You're all free to do as you please now." From the sands> Chloe heads up a short flight of steps to the galleries. From the sands> Chloe has left. From the sands> Tarlon grins at Ebbriah, holding out a hand if she wants to squeeze. "I wouldn't say no to glass of wine, or something stronger, right now," he says. From the sands> Casmira nods, and heads out.... From the sands> Ebbriah takes Tarlon's hand greatfully. "Same here." From the sands> Casmira has left. From the sands> Hiriwa finds an unsteady grin and heaps out after the others. From the sands> Hiriwa has left. From the sands> Redus glances at Carianna and smiles crookedly before nodding to Matheny and S'rist's permission to leave. "Thanks, ma'am. Sir." he says as he strolls off toward the stairs. From the sands> Redus heads up a short flight of steps to the galleries. From the sands> Redus has left. From the sands> Tarlon smiles, and tugs Ebbriah along, "Come on then," he says, "I think there's a fine Benden red with our names on it." From the sands> Ebbriah chuckles and motions for him to follow. "I've never had that before." Talgor smiles, "Thank you! I think I will join the party." Talgor has left. S'rist grins, "We do have some nice wines in for you all to enjoy..." Tarlon's eyes go wide, "Never!? Well then, we'll have to rememdy that," he grins.... |
