The shards don't exactly do much damage for they don't go far and it's not the whole egg that explodes, just the whole right side. A short and squat green form tumbles, end over end for a good six feet down a pile of sand, making a very loud objection to the rolling. It sounds vaguely like a feline having a hissing fit.

Scintillating Viridian Green Hatchling

The crisp colors of new spring and summer blend across her hide like the veils of a dancing girl. Although this petite little green is a blend of beryl and malachite, pine and sage, the color that underlies it all is obvious as it all but shimmers in mellow viridian tones. From the tip of her sharply pointed snout flows a river of sage that quickly turns to beryl across her shoulders. Wisps of malachite rain down each foreleg and end at her claws that are black as ebony and sharper than steel. Along her belly a rainbow of beryl and pine dance together with hints of jade and lime, but always showing through that sparkling undertone. Across her long and narrow wings, as well as her back and forelegs, spreads a spinner's web of barely noticeable aquamarine making a subtle contrast to the viridian. Finally down her slightly shorter than average tail a hint of moss blends with the undertone, ending with a burst of sea green at the very end.

Seeming to turn around in her skin and make a last leap and bound, the Vivacious and Scintillating Viridian Green comes to a halt. A spray of sand covers the nearby candidates as she looks up at the dark-brown haired girl she has chosen. Hers. Her Leeana.
