She never forgot her promises - especially the ones she made to herself - and though it took her two-and-a-half weeks to accomplish it, Alida finally found Warg a good forever home...though Azaylia's green and brown firelizards were gone for good, already...likely gone wild.

The bulldog was okay with flying a-dragonback, but the bluerider didn't want to take any chances with Azaylia's only 'child,' and tucked Warg's squat, stocky form into a stiffened-leather kennel before they left his 'foster' family in the Weyr. The greenrider and her young son had been sad to see Warg leaving, but - given the woman's advanced pregnancy - there would soon be no more time she'd be able to devote to an outgoing canine. It was only fair to both her and to the 'pup.'

It was meet that the bustling cothold was located not terribly far from Keroon, Azaylia's first home, and once dragon and rider reached it, the enough of the folk there temporarily abandoned their duties to greet the 'Reachian rider who bore a very special 'gift'...and a dragon willing to 'endure' the squeals and attentions of many of the cothold's children.

Warg, goofy and loving bully that he was, had adjusted without too much fuss to his new situation, status in life, emerging from his kennel with a loud snort and peering eyes before marching his wiggling behind straight over to the pre-teen girl who was the Cotholder's niece, and demanding she play with him. A match made in heaven, hopefully...for she was as charmed by her new companion as Warg was by her. And that the child had darker skin and black hair went even further to mollifying Alida that this was indeed the correct pairing.

The bluerider remained with the extended family for nearly a half-an-hour after pup and girl had removed themselves to continue their bonding process, Alida doing her best to speak of the deceased Weyrwoman without becoming *too* detailed about the manner of her death, while the cotholders paid their solemn respects, asked after any information to be had beyond their somewhat remote holding, and offered the bluerider a little klah and redfruit, cheese.

It was only after Alida was once more treading the warm winds above Keroon upon Ilicaeth that she gave in to those damnable tears, the grief almost as raw as it had been that awful evening more than two sevens ago.

His eyes flecked with grey and yellow within their blue, Ilicaeth stroked the air currents in a long, straight-flight over the rolling plains and hills until both he and his lifemate were ready to return home.
