It's been one month since Niahvth and Reisoth's eggs hatched and one month where the new acting Weyrwoman's attentions aren't divided.
Some things that have been happening on the higher leadership level:
- Irianke and K'del are slowly making thoughtful, deliberate visits to the coverage area, starting with Nabol, then Crom, then Tillek, and finally High Reaches Hold. It's reported that, on the surface, the Holds have a favorable impression of the Igen goldrider, now High Reaches' acting Weyrwoman, but time will tell if superficial reactions are, in fact, reality. Craftmaster Lyeley's reactions have been reserved, though the Igen goldrider has visited the craft hall far more than she has the outlaying holds.
- The lower caverns is seeing a distinct change in management style as Irianke meets weekly with the Headwoman and her staff, though rumor has it that she's made some discreet inquiries and taken notes on a handful of assistant headwomen's performances. There is speculation that she means to fire some of the women or maybe fire Giorda herself. Other than gossip about personnel changes, a new financial steward was appointed as a separate position within the records room and the accounting of all the Weyr's monetary assets now go through him. Also, a new head cook was appointed, even though the baker craft is not entirely under the Weyr's jurisdiction, people say Irianke has had hands all over it. On the plus side, the taste of food has gotten significantly better and more imaginative.
- One of the more clear cut items that has come down from on high is that any rider who is found to be pregnant will be moved directly into the queen's wing or Sleet. Wingleaders have been requested to update Niahvth on the pregnant status of the riders in their wing.
