What: Instability in the bowl excavations causes a number of convicts to get trapped.
When: Day 23, Month 1, Turn 22 (Interval 10)
During the afternoon of the twenty-third day of month one, something gave way in the excavation in the bowl, and sent the ceiling down, trapping numerous convicts, and killing at least one man instantly. The alarm was raised instantly, and all work efforts were cut short in order to concentrate on propping the ceiling up, creating an air-hole for the trapped workers, and then, finally, working to release them. It took until early morning on the twenty-fifth day for the convicts - some of them candidates for Iovniath's clutch - to be released from their rocky prison. Though no further rockfalls have been reported, even during the rescue efforts, all work has been suspended until a proper evaluation of the site can be made. There is already rumour of foul play: was it coincidence that so many candidates were in there? Was something tampered with? Was it /really/ just one of those things? In the meantime, it's something of a holiday for the convicts, albeit an idle one: there's not much to do, isolated in their quarters. For those rescued, it's time to be spent in the infirmary at least to begin with, their injuries being cared for. It's also started a suggestion that, perhaps, these candidates shouldn't be working in such dangerous occupations. If they're really to stand, it doesn't help much if they die first, does it?
