Early evening finds Cadejoth aloft above the wintry Weyr, and K'del snug in his personal weyr, stretched out across his couch with a glass of whisky in one hand and a book-- clearly not work-related, though it's also nothing dirty, thank you very much; just a novel of some kind-- in the other. The hearth contains a merry blaze; it's chilly outside, but cozily comfortable in here.

No warning presents itself -- though Roszadyth's ripple of dappled sunshine in passing might be suspicious in hindsight -- before Farideh walks into the weyr, still dressed in her cold weather riding gear; obviously not for flying. She has the fortitude to stop several steps within and stand still, facing the couch, looking both uncomfortable and determined. "K'del, sir," she greets, belatedly, but clear and loud enough in the cozy, warm space.

Engrossed in his book though he is, the sound of footsteps draws K'del's gaze up and up and up even as Farideh is entering-- he's silent for long seconds, silent even after she's made her own greeting, though the expression on his face is more quizzical than wary. "Farideh," he says, pushing himself up from the couch and into a semi-seated position.

It's enormously awkward any way that it's spun, and so she just gets down to the punchline, with her hands fretting at her sides. "I wanted to apologize to you for what I said to you the other day, and-- for what I said, to weyrwoman Lilah." Farideh falls silent, after, and stares at the bronzerider, waiting for a reaction, or, some kind of dismissal; apologies are hard.

K'del's expression softens faintly, though it takes him a few moments after that to stop pressing his lips together and to actually reply. "It's fine," he says, finally. "Apology accepted. I'm sorry for yelling at you. Know we're still... working this all out. Things." It's not much less awkward on his side; his mouth twists upwards accordingly.

His positive answer is met with more awkward silence on the weyrling's end, and then the onset of genuine panic steals across her face. "I-- I'm-- yes." Farideh clamps down on those, as yet unspoken words, and gives K'del a mechanical smile, but her shoulders are set tense.

Awkward. Should he have yelled again? Maybe he should have yelled again. K'del hesitates-- still, again, always-- and then gives the weyrling a short little nod. "Thank you, Farideh," he says. "Appreciate it. Have a good night."

Is it relief that she displays at his words? Probably, but then, it's hard to tell when she ducks her head and starts moving backwards. "I'm sorry-- again. Thank you-- no, you're welcome-- no, shi-- K'del, sir-- sorry," and Farideh turns, hurrying from the weyr with the same level of apprehension with which she entered.
