I am surprised Edyis feels that way, even grieving.... Pern culture generally feels very conflicted about killing dragons.

It is one thing to say and feel a thing, quite another to put it into motion. She is more conflicted about it than she lets on, but for now, everything is too fresh for her to even try to think of M'kris as a person. It's a little early yet, for her to be thinking clearly.
