A scattering of cases of plague are reported near the border between Nabol and Ruatha by day 9, with an admission that they may not have been reported immediately. The illness appears to be spreading northwards, if far more slowly than it could. In response, although there have yet to be any cases at Nabol Hold proper, Lady Tevrane has moved her family into seclusion, leaving her steward to manage day-to-day business. Some are calling it a smart move, but others seem less sure. Why should the Blood have that option when no one else does? |
