Following R'oan's death on the 16th, the 17th of month 4 and the following sevenday sees the death toll rising in Fort Weyr. There are dragon keens when a rider passes, but that mourning fanfare doesn't count the true total for residents and those posted crafters unfortunate enough to have been infected die without that public note. The infirmaries are still busy; the well are deterred from spending time with the ill, though volunteers of the appropriate age are accepted as needed to replace those who have fallen ill through performing the same task. |
