| Afternoon, day 9, month 9, turn 21. Finally, a conclusive fate for many of the crew of the "Scudder" has been determined. A shallow grave near where the wreckage of the ship was found reveals a large number of bodies, identifiable mostly by their clothing and various personal items. While the bodies were being retrieved and catalogued, the Weyr kept the discovery relatively quiet, however, once the bodies were brought back, the rumors that something big was up were confirmed, gruesomely. Lord Visrain of Boll was notified and brought to the Weyr to discuss next steps with the Weyrleaders and both that and 'storage' of the remains went on well into the night. Rumor has it that the bodies will be returned to family members wherever possible and where not, a mass cremation will be held and the ashes scattered at sea. |
