Mid-afternoon of day 23, month 3, the relative calm of the Weyr was shattered by the terrible keen of Fort's dragons mourning the loss of one of their own after an elderly green and her rider were lost Between. Though both getting on in turns, Kyriatath and her rider, Ayanna, were certainly still able to function well together, even if they had been on light duties for the past few months. The conclusions jumped to range from the thought that Kyriatath hadn't been hunting wild and her lack of food affected her concentration, to the disease the herds are suffering having reached the dragons. Then again, perhaps they /chose/ to go. Nobody knows for sure.
