The dusty olive of a fitted wool coat shapes this lithe green, and while she may never entirely fill out her lean, powerhouse physique, a different sort of maturity refines the angles of her narrow face. Large eyes, their facets keenly whittled and their color uncommonly intense, convey strong emotions and the sense of hidden schemes. Down the far-reaching curve of her neck and across sculpted shoulders and haunches, the patina of densely woven gray-heathered green alternates with twists of brighter burnish, while shadows dark as charcoal gather about her joints. Long-sparred wings, nearly as dark and appearing too delicate to enable flight, reveal an undercurrent of ropy resilience through sails that have the fine, faded sheen of a silvery sisal lining. A nonchalant strength slides fluidly through her rangy frame, sporadically visible in the ripple of muscular movement and especially in the swish of her elegantly long tail.

Clay Sentinel Egg

Like a handful of mud scooped from the riverbank, this big, sandy brown egg looms protectively over the others. Across the apex, the shade is lighter, with a few faint striations of darker brown giving it the appearance of cracked, dried mud that might give away at any moment to crumble into dust. Yet at the bottom, the egg is darker, sporting small rust-brown streaks like veins of clay as it squats stalwart and immovable in the sand.

Pressing inward slightly as if all the air has been sucked out of it, the Clay Sentinel Egg suddenly explodes upward, a shapely green head erupting from beneath the surface of its topmost point. Bright orange eyes, intent in regard look around briefly then with another effusive shake, the rest of the egg is pushed aside to reveal the drab olive hatchling within.

Beyond the Limits Green

The dusty olive of a fitted wool coat shapes this lithe, lean-limbed green, her narrow and angular face refined with a maturity beyond her years. Large eyes of uncommonly intense color convey strong emotions and the sense of hidden schemes, keenness whittling the jeweled facets sharply. Down her long gracious neck and across lithely sculpted shoulders and haunches, the patina of densely woven heathered gray alternates with twists of burnished green, shadows dark as charcoal gathering about her joints. Long-sparred wings of sage, appearing too delicate to enable flight, spread to reveal an undercurrent of ropy resilience through muscles and tendons that are draped with the fine sheen of a faded silvery sisal lining. A nonchalant strength slides fluidly through her gangly frame, sporadically visible in the ripple of muscular movement and in the swish of her elegantly long tail.

Temperament

Enigmatic. Pointed. Seeking. Sincere. Vrianth applies herself to everything with an incisively inquisitive mind and occasionally a flair for the sensational. Not interested by run-of-the-mill gossip, it's the truly interesting happenings at the Weyr that draw her attention and not so much repeating what she's learned but wheedling it out of those in-the-know. It's all for you too, so that you're well aware of everything that's going on, everything that could be coming your way, an eye on the skies so to speak, for stormy weather. Not that she's not willing to use what she finds out for whatever purposes she deems most important, but ultimately it's all about you. You were her goal, her vision of perfection on the Sands, her ongoing delight, the most precious prize that she guards above all.

As a weyrling, Vrianth will primarily be in 'observation mode', watching, learning, taking it all in and absorbing the lessons, what everyone says and how they say it. She'll ask questions of course, with a certain sly knowingness in her tone, meant to draw out further meaning from what she sees around her or more information from those she's most interested in learning from. In fact, it might seem as if she already knows the answer to what she's asking but is asking anyway just to see if she can catch the person or dragon she's asking flubbing or fibbing. All day long, she's analyzing information and then in the quiet dimness of the nighttime barracks, she hits you with it, the documentary of the day, her very own personalized recap for you, complete with captivating imagery, pointed questions of who, when, where and why, a veritable barrage of information for the two of you to work through. At times this may prove exhausting as she keeps you up longer than some of the others perhaps, with this meticulous, detailed view of everything you're learning.

Otherwise, she's deceptively easy as a young dragonet, calm and level-headed, taking direction well and applying herself assiduously to the tasks that are set for you both by the weyrlingmaster. Again it's in the quieter moments, the space between things where she might catch you and others unawares with a sudden perceptive outburst about why /this/ way might be better than /that/ way or a very determined decision that things will /not/ /be/ /so/.

Experience brings insight and know-how with Vrianth and she'll get even better at figuring out when the best time to bring something up is and when to let it lie. Though she'll continue to observe and analyze, her need to monopolize hours of your time in reviewing will fade to more manageable levels. Instead, she'll want you to be party to her ideas and schemes, expecting you to make things happen. Her caring side will also develop further, matching yours perhaps, as a defender of others -- though at times she may be doing this for her own purposes and for reasons that are not entirely clear to you. It may never be quite clear to you what Vrianth's agenda is, suffice it to say that she has one and everything she does is bent on achieving whatever the agenda du jour is.

While Vrianth can be flirty, coy or sly, her style is sophisticated. Not for her the simple, simpering moves of a flicked tail and breathy compliments to a male. Her flirtations are more mental than physical, though as she grows into her lean, powerhouse physique, she'll also convey a raw sort of physical sensuality that has its roots in strength and grace rather than supple curves and softness. She'll likely have her eye on a male or two long before she ever rises and in spite of instinct, will do her utmost to manipulate things in the sky so that her picks float to the top, utterly uninterested in being caught by someone who only has fleeting interest in her. This may prove a benefit to you if she selects the dragon of a rider you yourself favor, but your desires and hers may not align as she's incredibly choosy about what's interesting to her in a male partner.

Ahh Thread. Thread /is/ the point of it all, isn't it? And Vrianth is a devoted fighter, passionate about doing well either in drills to prepare for Fall or up in the skies tackling the silver strands themselves. However tenacious her desires are to push all the way through a full Threadfall, the fact of her size and coloring is, she can't, and the longer she strives, the more danger she is in. Even before the two of you ever rise to meet Fall she may distract you with fanatical visions of searing the skies clean of Pern's ancient menace, restless and keen to get up there and fight herself so she can be /sure/ that it's being done /right/.

Public Impression Message

After much careful observation of the sands and every candidate thereupon, the Beyond the Limits Green has concluded her quest and she pulls her feet in under herself and walks very decisively, unwaveringly straight towards a tawny-skinned young woman with tumbled auburn hair and amber eyes.

Private Impression Message

There's no warning really, just suddenly it's there in your mind, this voice speaking your name, trying it out, rolling it around as if it's a new taste she's just discovered. < Leeohhvahh » Were you nervous? Were you thinking of where all the hatchlings were? None of that matters in the slightest except the voice. /Her/ voice, resonating with deep, gravelly inflection throughout all the corners of your mind. « Leova » A light tinkle of airy laughter echoes merrily, then she's wrapping herself firmly around you, supporting, holding fast, almost too tight, robbing you of breath but giving you her own at the same time. And you just know it without her ever saying it because you can feel down to your littlest toe bone that her name is Vrianth.

Mindvoice

Gravelly and scratchy with a hint of unidentifiable twang that is similar to, but not exactly like her sire's down-home speech, the sound of Vrianth might fool you into thinking she lacks sophistication. Her command of a strong vocabulary and sly use of just the right words to convey or imply her meaning would put any such suspicions to rest. Hers is not a musical voice and there are no aspects of nature to it, though her tone is often rich with the emotions behind what she wishes to say, felt more than 'heard' sometimes assisted through the use of bursts of color.

Itchyspots

Right where she can't reach it, just behind her headknobs is a spot that will likely require much attention and care from you. It's not a spot she can rub easily against a rock for some immediate relief. Additionally she may sometimes suffer from between-the-ridges problems that may demand particularly dexterous fingers to get to.

Dragon Inspirations

D'anna Biers, Cylon Model 3, Battlestar Galactica.

D'anna sprang to mind, because of all the Cylons on the show she hit every one of the desired criteria you mentioned: spark, non-human, multi-dimensional, passionate about her cause (pure form of Cylonhood) and quest (for the pure form, for Earth, for Hera). Taking these characteristics I also tried to give Leova a challenge that doesn't involve a dragon who is her total opposite.

The name is a riff on various words for "three" her cylon model number and incorporates the requested V. It could also tie into various words meaning "free" tying into Leova's quest for freedom from her past.

Her leaner physique and voice are patterned after her sire, Wyaeth's as well as actress Lucy Lawless' face and build and distinctively inflected New Zealand accent.

Egg Inspiration: This egg is based on the golem, a creature created from mud and animated by magic, traditionally used as a guardian. The most famous golem is known from protecting the Jewish ghetto in Prague.
