K'zin is waiting at the appointed time in the otherwise deserted training cavern, on one of the couches. Rasavyth lingers outside the cavern despite the deep drifts and steady snowfall. There's a plate of food, mostly sweets, though some more savory things, despite the fact that it's after dinner and in theory both men meeting here should be well-fed. There's a nervous edge to K'zin's posture, sitting a little too straight, eyes a little too observant in searching the door for his pupil.

O'nahi is likely more nervous about this conversation than K'zin. Or he probably thinks he is, anyway. In fact, he probably doesn't even consider the fact that K'zin isn't anything but perfectly at ease with the whole thing even when he sees him. Teachers always know what they're talking about, after all. "K'zin, sir," he says with just a hint of anxiety as he approaches. "I'm not late, am I? I didn't think so, but." But K'zin is waiting for him.

"No, no," K'zin assures the younger man, shiftings to gesture to the plate of goodies, "I just-- didn't want to be late." There's the slightest color in the older man's cheeks. The one who knows what he's doing, surely. He clears his throat, letting that same hand gesture to a seat, wherever O'nahi is most comfortable. "Ready to start?"

The blue weyrling stands there for a moment, glancing at the plate. Food is definitely a good way to get O'nahi to do... basically anything, actually. He reaches for something as he sits down nearby, but not too nearby. Within reach of the plate, anyway. That's important. "I guess so. Thanks for talking to me. I didn't really want to talk to Quinlys or Telavi about anything. And the other guys..." He probably means the weyrlings. He'd probably rather not talk to them, either.

"No-- problem," there's a little awkward hitch in the habitual response as K'zin looks from plate to bluerider and back. "It makes sense really, being that we both ride males. More sense than trying to talk to greenriders." He's almost definitely talking about himself now, but could be meaning Telavi. He clears his throat quickly as though to move on. "So, O'nahi," not weyrling, but just O'nahi, "Tell me what you know about flights." Quinlys would be so proud.

"I guess, yeah." It makes sense. O'nahi probably hadn't considered it that way. He chews, glances at K'zin, chews a little bit more. Then he tries with an uncomfortable waver in his voice, "I know that the dragons do..." He gestures a hand before decided on, "It. And then you do it with the other rider." His gaze lingers on the bronzerider as though to ask, 'Right?'

"Ba..sic..ally." K'zin agrees stiltedly, probably wishing he could just say 'good chat!' and leave it there. "So, what do you know about proddiness? About what to do when a green starts to blood?" Perhaps this is a good place to start, his brows are high in question, trying to suss out what O'nahi already knows so he knows where to begin.

O'nahi frowns, letting his gaze drop down to look at the food. "Well... I don't know. I know that blues don't get proddy." So, really, why does he have to care about that stuff? "I don't know what you're supposed to do, but can't I just tell him to ignore her?" Please?

"Afraid not," K'zin has some sympathy for that desire, though. "If you're lucky, he won't start to notice them for a while," if. "Once he does start noticing them, though, it's... well, instincts take over. His will overpower yours. Well, nine times out of ten." The bronzerider's qualifying additions are awkward. "So she'll start to glow. He might notice her before the time comes and you can try to be out of the Weyr, but really... flights are just part of your life as a rider. Your job is to be a courteous," says the ass, "chaser and not a jerk when it's over. No matter who you end up in bed with." Then as if that weren't something they need to go into detail about, he goes on, "So if she bloods, he probably will too; sometimes he will even if she doesn't, or won't even if shse does." Clear as mud. "If he does, blood only. Meat's no good for flights, though it tends to be more critical with golds than greens. Still, you want enough height that a catch doesn't happen too close to the ground; that can be dangerous. You'll go to the flight weyr, most likely, and if he catches, you'll -- well, as you said. If he doesn't, it'll probably suck for a while, even if it doesn't suck for you, and then--" He shrugs, "go on with your day." So far so good says the lift of K'zin's brows, allowing for questions without explicitly soliciting them.

Is O'nahi supposed to start looking so anxious as K'zin relays his vast wealth of information? No? The young bluerider's brows are furrowed with some sort of worry over his wide eyes and he looks very uncertain. "What about... what about when it's happening? I've never-- I don't know-- What if I, you know, finish right away? What if they hate it? What if I can't get it up?" These are very important questions to a teenage boy!

K'zin swallows hard, his Adam's apple bobbing. This, however, is still marginally less intimidating than hearing Yesia say so. He takes a breath and starts with the easiest first. "You'll get it up. I think even an eighty year old man would get it up for a flight if his dragon is still chasing." Just in case O'nahi was worried about performance in old age. "You should find someone-- well, two someones, your own age," ideally, "to try things out with. One female, one male. There's no saying who Kuviath will chase and catch and you don't want to hurt anyone in the heat of the moment through inexperience. It's not the time to be figuring out what parts go where." This much is firm. "It'll probably be the best sex you ever have, no matter how quickly you get off." Just in case he needed that answered too.

"Male?" It's apparently possible for O'nahi to look even more uncomfortable because he's looking it now. He might have even known this was a possibility, but not that doing it of his own free will would be a suggestion from anyone. "I don't know if..." he trails off. He's not even sure how to say it, even if it would be pretty simple to finish the thought. He's kind of making a face, caught somewhere between thought, distaste and uncertainty.

"Close your eyes and picture tits," K'zin advises. Evidently, he's not inclined to go into matters further than that. "Anyway. So. The green gets proddy and glows, flight, sex. Afterward, you endeavor not to be a jerk no matter how awkward things are. "Questions?" He actively invites now, looking like he's ready to pat O'nahi's shoulder and say 'good talk' before making a quick exit, though he doesn't (good AWLM~).

That doesn't really help O'nahi very much, but he must not want to actually give much more thought to the suggestion lest he have a panic attack or something right here on K'zin. As for questions? The weyrling shakes his head earnestly despite the worried knit in his brows, and he's the one who stands up as though he's set on making that quick exit.

K'zin lets him. It might not actually be the right move, but it's the best he's got and as soon as O'nahi's out of range, K'zin sags into the seat, groaning softly. Learning curves are the worst!
