Through the entrance to the barracks, one is immediately presented with the door to the Weyrlingmaster's Staffroom to the left, while a path leading forward and a path to the right lead to two separate chambers, allowing two classes to be housed with their fellows. Each high-ceilinged chamber contains two neat rows of cots, each bed with its top to the wall, enough to house at least thirty weyrlings and their growing dragons. Placed at strategic intervals between the rows are barrels of oil, clean buckets and other equipment needed for dragon care or the cleaning of the premises. Windows are concealed by heavy drapes, but can be opened to provide fresh air and sunlight. Glowbaskets line the walls for nighttimes lighting.

Each weyrling pair is provided with a bed, a bedside table, and a trunk for their belongings. Beside each bed is a smooth indentation in the floor to serve as a wallow for growing dragons. If required, fresh linens and materials for wallows can be collected from the tall unit of drawers and collection of barrels at the very back of each room.

Wake up and feed the dragon. Get some exercise and feed the dragon. Go to bed after feeding the dragon. It doesn't matter what it is, D'aeo's schedule revolves around feeding the dragon, it seems: it has become his mantra, and Zvaezdiyth never seems to get full. Oh, he eats and eats until he's nearly sick (D'aeo's had to go hit up the bucket a time or two) but mostly, he just whines for food. All the time. It is not long after their visualization classes, before the night has settled into 'deeper night', and after dinner that D'aeo finally sees peace. A moment to collect himself. Until, that is, he looks over at Zvaezdiyth. The dragon is sitting there. STARING AT HIM. The bronze rider's eyes fall to the dragon's feet, which are doing this shuffle of weight from one to the other. "No. You're not hungry." A sound escapes the dragon's throat. It's pitiful. Obviously, this is a starved dragon, RIGHT HERE.

Ay'zan also has the same mantra with his green Yuanth though his may alter ever so slightly. Bratty, picky, persnickety, so many descriptive words for exactly how Yuanth is. Everything is a major ordeal to get it just right for her. Eat, sleep, oil. Repeat. It sounded so /simple/ when they were candidates. However now that they are /living/ it well it's a whole new world for 15 turn Ninway..Ay'zan. Sleeping when he can he's sprawled across his cot snoring. Yuanth though is waking up slowly. Turning around in her wallow that took her /forver/ to pick out she nudges disdainfully on what is spread out to make if comfy.

"No." But. "No." D'aeo is firm in his finger-wagging at the bronze dragonet that wants more food more than he wants LIFE. Spying Yuanth rousing, the weyrling offers up a crooked (if tired) half-smile for his fellow clutch mate. "Wasn't at all what I expected," maybe he doesn't realize that Ay'zan isn't quite up yet. Whups. Back to Zvaezdiyth, he finds the dragon trying to nose himself tall enough to get to the meat. "What'd I say? No, no more. Here, come on. You need - yes, I know - it itches. Right, see?" He waggles a pot, like it's a piece of... meat. "Oil." This is going to take forever.

Ay'zan's snore stutters before restarting for a moment then fading out completely. Yuanth's waking presence is slowly penetrating his consciousness along with D'aeo's words. "Huh? Wha?..." rolling over he misjudges exactly where the end of his cot ends so he ends up flat on the floor with an 'oof'. Yuanth whuffs a warm breath of air towards her bronze brother before poking at Ay'zan with her muzzle.

Zvaezdiyth makes a rumbling sound of greeting towards his sister, that settles into a soft sound while D'aeo slowly rubs the oil into the bronze's hide. "Taking an after dinner nap?" the young man asks, droll humor held in his exhausted expression and yet, it's the good kind of exhaustion. The circles beneath his eyes aren't from worrying too much; rather, it is as if a burden has subtly been lifted from D'aeo's shoulders. "I am hoping he gets sleepy and then I can have peace and quiet." Zvaezdiyth isn't likely to let that happen for a while yet.

One hand runs through his slightly rumpled hair. Ay'zan's normally super short hair is looking a little rumpled these days. Another muzzle to the gut gets him moving in autopilot towards food barrels. "Short nap." he finally replies directly towards D'aeo. "I'm pretty sure she still chatters to me in her sleep. Always with another question or demand to fix something up for her." such as waking him up in the middle of the might to fix her bedding. Again. Every night. Still though he casts a fond loom towards the green as she wolves down her first chunk of food. Snack time!

"Wow." D'aeo eyes the green, then her rider and then down at the bronze who is eyeballing him like he's about to enter the bad-touch-danger-zone when his hands near those cute little feet of his. "That sounds..." He curbs his tongue before the awkwardness can truly take hold and finishes with, "... very loud." Deft, quick fingers work the oil into the wingjoints and onto the sails themselves.

Ay'zan smirks faintly. Another chunk is tossed into a waiting maw. "It can be!" admits the weyrling. With sleep still in his eyes he absently watches D'aeo oiling the bronze.

D'aeo flashes his fellow weyrling a half-ass smile, before turning to Zvaezdiyth and stepping back. "There, you go." The dragonet has been lulled into submission and the bronzerider isn't about to nudge the creature into his couch area. Where he's basically fallen asleep is good for him! "Zvaezdiyth isn't a huge talker." Thank Faranth. "Yet, at least. He's... mysterious." D'aeo doesn't have the talent for words his bronze will have once he's grown into them, so that's all he comes up with. For the moment. "Now that he's taken care of, I think I'm going to... find something..." He makes a half-hearted wave in the direction of his few personal things. Downtime, this is what he seems to mean.

Ay'zan doesn't bother to stifle his yawn since both hands are covered with blood Yuanth's snack. Sedated now she makes her way over to her couch to lounge out. An expectant look is given to Ay'zan. After food comes oil. Always! So as D'aeo makes his way to some downtime Ay'zan is still on duty with his green to oil her. Perhaps after when she's asleep he'll get some down time too though likely he'll use it to sleep as he was before she awoke hungry.
