Second Star to the Right Egg

The inky blue of this big broad egg is that unmistakable shade of the night sky, twilight still clinging around the horizon and, at its apex, the great depths of space lie endless beyond the atmosphere. And out there, where hidden nebulae and galaxies promenade through their mysterious dances, are brilliant pin-pricks of light, perfect shining whites and silvers amid the darkness of the sky. They are points too stark and bright to be simple dots, spread at random around the velvety shell, and it might seem, maybe, through a play of light, that the second to the right is winking.

The star-studded darkness of the Second Star to the Right Egg is suddenly overwhelmed by an explosion from within, velvety shards shooting out to clatter against the shell of the ominous warning of red in the morning. Curled in the remnants of what was once her home is a delicately boned green, the yellowy-spring hue of her hide sparkling with a brilliance reminiscent of the pin-pricks of light that once graced her shell.

Spring's Sprightly Green

Sass sweeps over this dainty dragon in star-dusted hues of spring's shimmering yellow-green, from the curious turn of a delicate head to the whiplash petulance of a slim tail. No wall flower, despite the subtle vine patterning that winds raggedly along her sides, bright hues dominate her small, slanted eyes, the sharp intelligence therein complementing her inquisitiveness, while a slim muzzle and non-existent eyeridges fill out the rest of her features. The gentle contours of her blonde-tipped neckridges, rounded rather than sleekly curved, play down a slender neck until they peter out where exquisitely lady-like wings meet her diminutive body. Stretched thin across her wingspars, chartreuse sheaths hang almost transparent, light and airy and meant more for agile flight than stability. That nimble demeanor is futher accentuated by her foam-pale paws, like tropical flowers blossomed on a vine, drawing attention to the graceful way in which she moves on the very tips of her ivory talons.

Temperament

With Iesuth, boredom is never an option, as throughout her life, she'll retain a childish, playful element to her temperament that's always on the lookout for fun. She'll chatter, observe, gossip, make light and fun of, and fit in well in her role as the smallest, and thus baby sister, quite self-centered dragonet of her clutch.

Weyrlinghood will be rife with trouble, Iesuth never managing to stay still, flittering from this location to that location with her delicate little wings spread, as if she might fly off at any moment. Her duties, she'll explain quite certainly, are to you and to herself, and what are these lecture things she's supposed to be paying attention to? When are the two of you going to fly?

Stubborn when told, however gently, the right way to do things, Iesuth brushes off all complications in her life with a tinkling musical laughter and a charming way of portraying situations in the best possible light for her. If you're not quite sure solemn and patient Bremuth (or his rider for that matter) would appreciate his tail chased, a bright reasoning would follow: « But if Bremuth does not have his tail chased, how will he know whether he likes it or not? In fact, /I am/ doing him a favor by paying attention to these details he would never think of. »

It's when consequences are unignorable that Iesuth's less sunny nature is drawn out; a penchant for petulance when not being first, or being not only reprimanded but punished for her heedless irresponsibility. Instead of graciously accepting defeat or working that instant to become better, your tiny green will sulk, stew, and simmer her anger until coaxed out from it by your own cheerfully playful nature. But when the little torrent that looms over her head disappears, Iesuth will bounce back with a renewed energy to /be/ better, at least in whatever topic sent her spiraling into gloom in the first place. The next trial and tribulation will be a repeat, wash-rinse-dry cycle, until maturity.

Iesuth will never quite grow out of that youthful stage. She'll enjoy merriment and strive to live life to the fullest, most exuberant fun that can possibly be had. But aspects of her youth will fade into the background. While being an ungracious loser will remain a constant in her life, the petulance that rises from it will temper, smoothing down beneath her generally sweet disposition and instead of sulking or lashing out, she'll become more eager to please those she likes. On the other hand, if there's someone she's decided to dislike, there might still be problems: little pranks that seem harmless, but sometimes don't turn out that way, catty little thoughts shared with you, or just flat out ignoring those that irritate her. Luckily, the list of dragons or people or things she dislikes is short and with an ever failing draconic memory, her likes and dislikes might change from day to day.

It's difficult to talk about relationships with other dragons without first presenting how Iesuth views herself. Some might call her vain, she would call it self-appreciation. The shimmering sparkle of her hide brings her much pride and to keep it clean and in a constant state of attractiveness is one of the tasks that fall to you, both as a weyrling and later in life.

With such high self-esteem, it's no wonder Iesuth is attracted to the best and brightest of her race, finding pleasure in bantering with witty dragons while trying to cozy up to incredibly attractive males. Other females are competitors, meant for very casual interplay rather than any bonding friendship, but every once in a while, she'll find a likeminded female dragon who she'll just take to and become fast friends with.

Iesuth's flights are as predictable as her sunshine and bubbles to sulking and back again nature. Possessiveness of what belongs to her: *her* rider, *her* blanket, *her* straps, *her* best friend, shifts to catch-me-if-you-can flirtatious freedom, and then when caught, the possessiveness returns for as long as she remembers before Iesuth is off on the next best, fun thing.

When she flies and the possessiveness disappears, just one male won't do for her, and if one must be chosen they'll have to be the fastest, most cunning of dragons. The airy lightness of her wings was _made_ for flying. Her natural acrobatic capabilities couples with her graceful wings' talent for catching thermals and making quick adjustments as she flies. After all, what better time is there to show off than when chased by lustful males who all want *her*?

While other dragons are /driven/ towards fighting, and for the most part she's no exception, the constant nagging fear that she's dirtying herself will weigh in the back of her head. She'll fight as she must and maybe cause her wingleader some trouble here and there as she wants to -show- all the bigger dragons she's just as capable as them, once the fight is over, she'll be inundating you with the desire to be clean again. Her first, you last, but possibly you first if you being dirty is impeding her being clean.

Public Impression Message

Prancing daintily, the Spring's Sparkling Green dances across the sands, her expressive tail swishing this way and that. Choosy, her slim muzzle pauses at one girl, then tilts to another before a baby bugle of triumph precedes her quickened steps towards an awkwardly slender girl with vivid dark brown eyes. Young limbs, despite the prior grace shown, can't quite keep up with her desires, and she falls in a tiny heap in front of her chosen.

Private Impression Message

Merriment tinkles in a charming trill of bells in the periphery of your thoughts; a little curious, and even a little strange perhaps. However, it isn't easy to shake off or ignore as a bright sapphire color slams through your mind, unheeding of any discomfort you might have, exploring and searching and suddenly- triumphant. Triumph mingles in bright highlights of ruby, sheer joy culminating in the sweetest voice that rings to fill the emptiness you never knew existed: « Carisandra! Oh, Carisa, Cari, but never Car. » Discomfort melts into a melodic unison, so perfect that it seems almost silly to ask who this intruder is, but even before the thought is half-formed, this pure, youthful voice responds, surprised, « What do you mean, who am I? /Who/ am /I/? I am Iesuth, and I am so hungry, Carisandra. Feed me! » Pay attention to me!

Mindvoice

Iesuth giggles merrily. It's the easiest way to describe her melodic tinkling voice. There are words contained within, but sometimes it may be difficult for other dragons to discern just what Iesuth is saying, while you will have no difficulty at all. It's a secret language between the two of you, but this is also why your petite green will become exceptional at painting vivid images that convey everything to others.

Itchyspots

She would never admit to itching anywhere, but like any newborn dragon, her growth will catch up to her desire to scratch. Iesuth's hide will initially be flakiest along her neckridges leading up to her rounded headknobs, and as she grows, the focus will shift to her wings.

Dragon Inspirations

Iesuth is based off of Tinkerbell from Peter Pan, a tiny creature filled with absolute loyalty to the people and causes she decides to love, but self-centered petulance for those she doesn't. Her name is derived from Pixie Dust and was originally Iexuth, with the s replacing the x for visual appeal sake.

Egg Inspiration: While there is some specific reference to the magic of Neverland's destination, this egg is inspired by the heavens in general and the part they've played in various manners of imagination, divination and of course, wishing.
