Powerfully-built, this young gold is comprised of contrasts, her colouring almost as if she casts her own shadow onto her sinuous form. Her angular jaw and the subtle, all but perpetual tilt to her head lend her an imperious, challenging air, her neck slim and vivid yellow-touched ridges sharp. The brightness of citrus permeates the auroral gold of her hide, yet duller shadows slip down across her chest and claim the lower half of her supple body, warring for dominance with the brilliant buttercup of her long, sturdy limbs, her serpentine tail lent to twisting and coiling. Strong, broad shoulders support white-gold wings, the richer glimmer of a summer sunset swept faintly across sturdy sails in delicate gossamer swirls. Heavy-set paws are finished with dark, earthy claws, dangerously sharp even in youth.

Tale as Old as Time Egg

Largest of the clutch, this rich gold egg shimmers not in the manner of metal, but of finest silk and satin, surface seeming to ripple gently when observed from different angles. A band of a deeper, more coppery shade sits low on its shell, sweeping, heavy drops drawing towards its base in one elegant, unbroken loop akin to delicate piping or draping garland. Its inviting shine suggests liquid smoothness, yet this egg's shell has a gauzy texture, just fine enough to be pleasing beneath curious fingertips.

Tale as Old as Time Egg shivers more intensely, then seems to melt more than shatter, small shards of shell flaking away, falling to the Sands in a smooth river of tiny pieces. The lash of a tail breaks through, sending shards every which way, then paws find sand as the dragonet within is released and tries to find her balance, wet wings flaring to steady herself. Creeling, the young gold flips her wings flat to her back once she's sure her limbs won't betray her, focus already fixed on the white-robed Candidates. She knows what it's about, this one.

Temperament

Llofruddiaeth is a fighter; this much is clear even from her early hours. However, she is not one who goes /looking/ for a fight or who lashes out at others in a quest to assert her dominance. She will fight for a cause, for what she believes in and for you, and will likely need some instruction and guidance in when to /stop/, especially in her early days, but she won't intentionally hurt anyone, unless they should hurt her (or you). Expecting you to adapt to life as hers immediately and without question, she has no time for hesitation or doubts and will try her very best to make you see your merits, for why would she have chosen anyone less than as determined and clever as herself? She is a queen and you are her rider; your say goes. She won't be quick to grasp that you will have no official 'voice' as a leader until you graduate, yet once she does realise this, she'll be eager to make sure that you both have one within your weyrling class at the very least. It doesn't matter if you're wrong; it matters that you /tried/ and /believed/.

During lessons, she may be difficult to control, impatient with more hesitant siblings and determined that /you/ should coax and convince their riders into gear to get things moving along at the pace she desires. She wants her clutchmates to perform to their full potential and wants what's best for them, but she can get too caught up and concerned with this, sure that they should comply with what /she/ sees as 'best' for them. As their sister (and their queen), she /must/ know what's right and may have trouble accepting the views of others at first, until she learns the value of the voices of her 'family'. Having inherited a measure of her dam's sensitivity, she can be painfully aware of the emotions of others, both dragons and people, which will may well not only unbalance her, but you as well, but this only makes her all the more determined to make sure things are /right/ with all.

Though fully-aware of what she is and the power her colour holds, she wants to be appreciated for who she is more than for the shine to her hide. She won't hesitate to use the commanding force she's been granted when necessary and, as she enters the months that bring her closer to maturity, may well experiment with /influencing/ and /commanding/ and the responses each earn her. She knows she is a leader and will be looked to as such, yet she'll want to figure out the different ways of 'getting the job done'. Should she /order/, will she care or have time for any hurt she causes? If she /persuades/, does it take too long? Will /kindness/ earn her more loyalty and respect? It might take her a while to sort out her own unique way of managing the responsibility and power of her colour, but, when she does, she will be a force to be reckoned with, whether she decides that it's better to lead from the front or fight alongside her men.

When grown and having grown into her queenly gifts, the temptation to use those gifts for her own ends will begin to rear its ugly head. She /wants/ to be good, but if a nudge here and there might get her what she wants or make something better for you... Companionship and challenges will do much to quell those urges, allowing her to achieve something without exploiting her power, making her an enthusiastic participant in Wing exercises and drills. It's not only that power of hers that she'll be tempted to use, her quick-witted and subtly flirtatious or cheeky banter with others something that could earn her plenty of admirers and cohorts, though she's not in it for male attention. What she really wants are partners in crime; others who see things her way and are willing to stand with her, should they need to fight their corner. Just as willing to devote herself to others as she is to accept affection from them, she's still looking for something true rather than shallow flirtations or empty friendships. Those who deceive either of you will be written off as untrustworthy and subject to her deeply-hidden temper, not let off the hook easily. She has a long memory for betrayal and don't be surprised if she seeks revenge in due course, right when it might have the best effect.

Once it's time for her to lead a chase through the skies, Llofruddiaeth may easily be influenced if she has developed a bond with a bronze or brown. If none have earned her loyalty and friendship, she will want nothing but the best and will tell you so repeatedly, for she sees it as her duty to provide a strong clutch /and/ a strong leader, should she one day be in the position to do so. However, should her heart speak louder than her instincts, then she will of course believe that her favourite or love will be the best for her and for the Weyr. She might even take your preferences into account, should she have none of her own, though yours will be subject to more scrutiny than hers. In the end, all her suitors must prove themselves, even any she shows a preference for, for why should she be willing to devote herself if they are not willing to show a dedication to catching her? The resulting clutch will be guarded fiercely, as it cannot protect itself, though she will itch to be free of the Sands and try to convince her mate to tend to their offspring when that itch becomes unbearable and she must take to the skies or vent energy elsewhere until returning to ensure that every one of her eggs are as well as when she left them.

Ultimately, Llofruddiaeth is the girl who's got your back and got a plan, whatever you may need. At times, it will seem as if she needs no-one and can conduct herself and her affairs perfectly well on her own, but beneath it all she needs /you/ most of all and others there to support her when she must turn to them. After all, is a leader truly a leader if they can't trust themselves to turn to those they supposedly have the most faith in? She has her insecurities, just like everyone else, but for her they are made up of mere moments; moments to be ignored and forgotten. She'll even lead /you/ if you let her, though she'd much rather you learn to walk beside her and do what she cannot. She may be tough on you, but she's seen /all/ of you. And she knows she's got the right girl.

Public Impression Message

The Most Powerful Magic of All Gold Hatchling turns abruptly from the latest Candidate to undergo her inspection, dismissing the girl with a frustrated huff of a noise. The red of her fast-whirling gaze deepens as she pads onwards in her quest, ignoring all until something draws her focus upwards, a hopeful blue beginning to dapple her gaze. Blood-red is banished by the time she reaches the red-haired girl and /claims/ her, gaze seeking the once-potter's as she wraps her small form about the girl's ankles and over her feet. /Hers/.

Private Impression Message

The scent of fresh pine needles and the soft burble of nearby running water steal away the oppressive heat of the Sands, cleansing your senses and cooling your mind, calm descending all at once. Silence. For two heartbeats, three, then a whirl of motion, trees tall as you can see reaching for a rosy sky, rushing forth to surround you completely. The snap of dry twigs underfoot. Is anyone there? Turning, again, and /there/ she is, there and /everywhere/. « Orialu. » There's not a soul to be seen, yet hers is forever twined with yours, your Llofruddiaeth here to stand beside you. « It's time to show them who we are. »

Mindvoice

Llofruddiaeth's mental touch has the potential to go from complete and utter to serenity to total chaos in a heartbeat. She communicates primarily with the sights and sounds of a dense forest, trees reaching as high as the eye can see. When calm, there's little but the chirp of birds and the breeze through the trees to unsettle the quiet, yet depending on her mood /beyond/ that calm (is she plotting? is she relaxing?), the glimmer of dawn's light could make the forest an inviting place, or complete darkness overhead turn it into someone's worst nightmare. The more active or excited she is, the more life spills through, thudding footsteps and snapping branches falling into a beat of her own making, the flutter or wings and scurry of wildlife dancing a tease. Anger or frustration brings the distant clash of sword on sword, the solid thunk of arrows hitting their targets, battle never quite seen, but glimpses caught; the swirl of a cape and the gleam of polished weaponry.

Dragon Inspirations

Llofruddiaeth is based on the concept of the female warrior and loosely based on a number of the strong female characters from ABC's 'Once Upon a Time', including Regina, Snow, Red and Granny, with a touch of Regina's younger fairytale land self to temper her.

Egg Inspiration: Belle's ball gown from 'Beauty and the Beast'.
