The first day it was three greens rising...three whom Ilicaeth wasn't terribly interested in, for whatever reason. But the gritty blue certain took *notice* of them and their state as he drilled with Taiga (damn it).

Day two, however, Ilicaeth found one of the many glowy, green ladies much more personally enchanting, and decided to abandon Alida to her own devices within their weyr while *he* glided down to the pens, blooded a quick herdbeast, and then shot up like a bolt to chase until he was ragged...and soaking off his frustrating loss in the chilly lake. He brooded some, and only offered his lifemate an occasional lash of mental invective when she finally calmed down enough to berate him for stranding her.

He was a little too wing sore to do more than attempt, then quickly abandon another chase the next afternoon, the blue nearly seething with want by this time, and not much able to do much of anything but snarl at the other chasing males throughout the long day... and grumble at his other half. Alida sternly warned him off of more chasing after examining the blue's eye-marked wings. Ilicaeth's stony silence should have warned her.

The next day, one of those randy, wild greens took to the skies just before dawn, which gave the grumpy and scheming blue more than enough impetus to chase her...with nothing but catching on his mind and wickedness in his hearts. There were only a handful of males on the green's lashing tail as they all cut through the windy, rain-splattered sky in her wake, but the burly blue cut the number down fast enough through sneak-tactics. A bellow from below and frightfully nearby a rangy brown sent the other male veering far off enough the Flight path (to avoid what he thought would be a collision) to quickly fall out... plus a swipe of coppery claws against a bronze haunch as he sped by the bigger beast sent the second male squalling down towards the lake. Desperate times required sort-of desperate measures.

But his wings were still a little too stiff to allow Ilicaeth his full maneuverability, and - in what would have ordinarily been a losing move - he didn't *couldn't* perform a needed bank hard enough to keep close on the agile female's tail. Even as the roar of frustration was being uttered from the parched blue's throat, and the nearest blue looked to tangle tails with her, Damasth unexpectedly turned belly up to draw her thin, needly little claws over the underbelly of her would-be lover. The shallow, but long furrows dragged into his hide surprised the pale, larger blue almost as much as *not* catching his would-be prize...flowing ichor and pain making him creel and wing down in a hurry towards the Bowl far below.

« Ilicaeth... » the unexpected siren's call from Damasth sounded in his tired synapses like the richest, sultriest sisal, and called the blue's mind back to her even as his anger faded fast. His reddened eyes were quickly filled with the sight of the larger green soaring down on tired wings to meet him half way, the air and her motions combining to give her glowy hide the appearance of diaphanous chiffon of the highest quality rippling, shifting in the breeze. He was just as caught as she was...entranced.

« Damasth..! » the nearly-exhausted Ilicaeth rumbled in surprise and pleasure as he fell into 'autopilot' mode, and felt his claws, tail, wings tangling, wrapping, sliding along her own. She'd *chosen* him...the first green ever to do so. The blue was more used to taking the ladies away from other suitors, if he didn't fail outright, but *this* time...

An instant influx of energy surged through him, helped the trembling blue find the strength to toss his burning wings wide again to help support the intertwined pair as they took a long, long glide back towards the ground during their bliss. It was incredible to be *chosen*, to be wrapped up in Damasth's decadent chiffon.

Far below, again stuck alone in her weyr, Alida awoke from a very explicit dream and found ample reason to shout her upset at her lifemate before his emotions and urges overcame her, too.

At least *someone* was having some fun.
