« She's glowin'... » Ilicaeth noted rather suddenly, rudely to his rider as he sat upon the expanse of rock beside the star stones, the blue's attention temporarily turned from watching 'Reaches' skies (and doing their duty) to the delicate pulse of luminescent color upon Niahvth's generous frame. Alida's helmeted head quickly jerked to her lifemate's own line of sight, the woman's green eyes not as keen as her dragon's, though they sufficed when she finally squinted hard.

« You sure? » It could be the angle of the setting sun, after all.

The more Ilicaeth stared at Niahvth - now on her own ledge - the more certain he was, especially since he finally caught the faintest hint of her tantalizing scent upon the last of the Weyr's rising air currents for the evening. « Yes. » The blue's intent, rasping baritone swirled a gust of grit through her mind, his sands tinged bright gold, though also mixed with ocher and dark greys. He didn't have to say it: There was *lots* riding on the outcome of this particular leadership Flight...and the intensity of such could be felt through Ilicaeth's strong frame as his rider leaned her frame against one blue foreleg. He was nearly vibrating, physically. Poised, balanced, readied.

« Oh fer... *Please* tell me yer not gonna' get another wild hare up yer... » Alida's seen him try to get into the blooding over one of Hraedhyth's flights.

Utterly certain, fully-in-control, « Pfft. Nah. » Niahvth held not deeper attraction for him as Hraedhyth had...still could, in his fuzzy draconic memories. *No* dragon could ever live that would be capable of fully filling the huge 'shoes' his dam had left behind. Ilicaeth's mental words - though delivered almost casually - were lined with intent and seriousness.

The time had come....and rather soon, too, given Niahvth's previous clutch had only just Graduated. Hmm... how strange indeed, even given the sometimes slightly fickle nature of a female's rising cycles. She needed to arrange a quick and dirty meeting with Jo. Something had to be planned, or else this opportunity would likely go to waste, given a certain bronze's catching prowess.

Though the note without the signature was her freedom and relief, it also still galled the proud bluerider to no end. Anger was much easier for the blonde than calculation, and she battled internally between the two until Ilicaeth suddenly rumbled, the basso sound making Alida's clothing-covered skin ripple where she touched her lifemate.

« What if they *both* go up again, like... » Like Turns ago, before he was even shelled, when Hraedhyth and Iesaryth decided to get it in mind to rise at the same time, continents apart. The blue was both bemused and unhappy about *that* particular scenario. He liked harmonious order even more than his wayward rider.

Her own laughter surprised Alida as it rose, unbidden, from the deepest recesses of her guts, rocking her frame for some moments with the dark wryness she so often seemed to favor as her go-to type of humor.

« I think I gotta' stick with Jo on *that*. » Such a kind of chaos might be not only the most advantageous...but also the most fun.

« As long as it ain't *him*. » Not Reisoth, but *H'vier.*

Frown...think. « Don't wan'im, no. » The best-laid plans of mice and men, however... « Still, he'd be new to th' game. » Of chess...and of how 'pieces' were moved by factors out of their control. The sudden image of Rasavyth and K'zin lurched into Alida's mind, made her scowl more darkly.

This time, Ilicaeth didn't even grace either of them with a reply to *that* unpleasant outcome. Worms tended to turn.

The only correction I have to make is that Niahvth doesn't start glowing until the 14th. :D Not the 10th.
