| Another of Elaruth and Bijedth's clutches born into a blizzard, on day 25, month 2, turn 36, thirteen dragons from a clutch of fourteen eggs hatched and (eventually, in some cases) sought out their chosen riders. Of the four eggs separated from the main clutch by their dam, only three hatched, producing a malformed bronze and two tiny, almost identical greens. The poor bronze was not the only afflicted dragon in the clutch, for another of the greens was noted to be frail and sickly, and the dragons on the slender side on the whole. And then there was the pale brown who chose from the galleries instead of the Sands, and Impressed to the young woman claiming to be the mother of Lord Fort's firstborn son.
