Preludes: Kiami's death, Raum locates Itsy A Turn. A Turn since they were rescued from the Island. A Turn since his sister Kiami died. He'd asked around, afterwards, and was told that all the sick exiles were disposed of in the way that all Weybred dispose of bodies. Between. The thought made him ill. A Turn on, and he held a pair of twisted leaves, which he released into the sea in memory of his sister. Kiami would have loved Tillek. The sea. The Hold. It would've suited her. He had no doubt she would've found some handsome young lad and settled down. The thought of never being able to meet his nieces and nephews, Kiami's children, pained him. But it also made him stronger. Raum had picked well. Itsy was smart and canny. He was proud of her, and protective of the wild girl in a way that made him long for children of his own. Itsy was friendly with Thedrin, the Tillek Heir. Thedrin trusted her. They were ready. Later on, he found Raum. "It's time to talk to the pirates."
