Excitement is only tempered by pride and professionalism, things Evyth has been exhibiting more in her turn as weyrling wingleader. « Zoth, Lys would like V'ret to join her after dinner if he's free and you can spare him. » The last consideration might be Evyth's alone, but it might as likely be a joint concern. (To Zoth from Evyth)

To Evyth, Zoth's demeanor through all of this has been nothing but professional, but then it's never been anything but professional. One could be excused thinking that there's not much to him besides good manners and competence and silky voice. « I believe he had some sort of plan of a visit with some... former colleagues, » the answer comes, not hastily. « Tomorrow, perhaps. » It lacks any of the sort of enthusiasm his rider might surely have at the notion.

« Oh, » that requires a little consultation with Lys. « Oh, » is understanding and then Evyth brightens, « Well, that's probably even better then! It'll give us a chance to clean up our weyr a little. Make there be less dust and mud and stuff. » Evidently, their personal abode is where V'ret is being invited. « Tomorrow would be good, but Lys says if it's more than tomorrow, she might have to talk to someone else. » That doesn't seem to make much sense to Evyth, but she's willing to communicate it without comment. (To Zoth from Evyth)

This requires a moment's thought, though whether Zoth is actually consulting with his rider is possibly debatable. « If her intentions are, ah, carnal, » and he says even that word as though it's obscene, and not in a good way, « he would probably arrange for tonight, and not care about the state of cleanliness. » (To Evyth from Zoth)

The topic requires a little ghost of a giggle, but in truth it's a complicated question. « Well, » she thinks, « she'd like to make you both an offer, though I'm not sure how she would plan to reward you, if she would. » That's perplexing. « It seems like if she would offer V'ret a reward, she should do the same for you, only it's not so easy to come up with a reward for you. What kinds of things do you like? » It's an earnest question; this is Evyth going to bat for Zoth and equality. (To Zoth from Evyth)

This seems more complicated than Zoth was anticipation. More quiet, on his end. What does he like? Observation would suggest hunting. And eating, which is a part of hunting. « Anything worth doing, » the bronze settles on, « would be its own reward. But any part I had in that, » which is presumably still his assumption about what they're talking about, « would be too small to warrant mention. His... assignations are his own business. » (To Evyth from Zoth)

More giggling, but the embarrassed sort. It's Evyth's fault, probably. « Oh, no. Not-- It's something else. It's just that she might make the reward, for him-- uh, carnal. » More giggling. She kind of can't help it. The topic is funny, nervous and awkward. And she's not supposed to be talking about it with Zoth. (Or anyone else.) (To Zoth from Evyth)

Suddenly there's actually some warmth and amusement there, or at least the pretense of them. « Well. I am quite sure that they will come to a mutually satisfactory arrangement tomorrow. » Which carries the finality that Zoth perhaps doesn't actually care to spend more time thinking about such things. (To Evyth from Zoth)

To Zoth, Evyth must be sure of it too, or at least equally unwishing to think about such things any longer for she has a bright twinkle of farewell for the bronze, but withdraws to tend to whatever on-going matters she has before her.
