| The morning of the twenty-second day of the twelfth month is both bright and white; clear skies, snow-blanketed bowl, and crisp air that's perfect for flying. It's during the daytime that an egg-heavy Roszadyth begins clutching, though much like her dame, it's a slow process that takes most of the day and some of the evening to complete. Weyrfolk are expressly forbidden to enter the hatching cavern during, but when it is done and there are thirteen new eggs nestling in the sands -- eggs that the younger gold seems keen to show off -- that restriction is lifted and all are welcome to gawk at the mostly dark clutch. Notably, there's not a single egg sporting a gold sheen, even /if/ quite a few are peculiarly.. yellow. By the late evening, things are underway for the clutching feast; just in time for the final tally on the eggs. It's a generous affair, given the lower caverns staff have had all day to prepare, in between idling the time away with gossip and conjecture. Music, food, and drinks aplenty! |
