The atmosphere might be just a little bit tense at the top, with Berit stepping down as Senior only five months after the flight that confirmed her in the position, due to fatigue induced by her rapidly advancing pregnancy. Thankfully, the staff are used to working with Cirse who has taken on the mantle of Acting Senior again and things seem smooth enough in the lower caverns, though eyes are watchful for how R'uen and Cirse will get along and handle affairs both within the Weyr and without.

Wing-wise, rumor has it that the Weyrleader and Wingleaders are looking into bringing back the Weyr Games that many might have heard about in Harper songs and reading up on Pern's history. There's nothing concrete on that yet though beyond a slight increase in acrobatic drills in some of the wings. As spring starts to wane to usher summer in, residents and riders alike might start looking forward to the Gather season when many of the area holds start holding get-togethers and many a holder wedding takes place. Fort's own Spring Gather was a massive affair as usual, early in month 5 and drew in large crowds from all over the coverage area. The next big Gather to take place in the immediate area will be the mid-summer gather early in month 7. It's anticipated to be a weaver-heavy gathering with a lot of fabric trade being done.

The lower caverns are also already in the planning stages for the upcoming tithe season throughout late summer and late autumn, with inventories of stock taking place and a lot of running around by the assistant headwomen through the various storerooms. Another shift of position took place, long-time headwoman Kulen stepped own to her second-in-command, Shevena, about ten turns her junior. So far the new headwoman has made no changes to how things are run, but gossip runs rampant about whether or not she'll be able to hack it with as much devotion and attention to detail as her predecessor, or if she'll crumble without Kulen's strong hand to bolster her.

In all of these changes, some might not be thinking much anymore about the influx of Telgari almost a turn ago: overall a lot of work has been done to merge the large number of transfers into the Weyr seamlessly. However, the arrival of another new transfer, G'eon rider of blue Irsith, from the far northern Weyr might stir up some old loyalties, bringing attention back to the merger of riders from two different Weyrs. So far though, the coast seems clear for a productive summer.
