Benden Weyr convenes the Weyrs in a meeting that is hesitantly attended. Up for discussion, discussion for a global strategy to contain the illness to Fort. However, conversation gets derailed quickly to point out how Boll's family has gone, leaving the area without Blooded leadership, and that Fort's leadership is impacted, the once-resigned acting Weyrwoman having lost family and now the sole junior having fallen ill. The end result is a majority vote throwing open Fort's leadership to the next non-retired junior gold to rise. However gauche it is, bets are already being placed on who will rise next all over Pern with the forerunner being Dosanyth of Igen, followed by Sunfialth of Benden, Zaisavyth of Monaco and Bodeventh of Igen. |
