She's so small, sinuous, a dragonet green as grass at night; her large dark-lit eyes hearken to evening more than light. Some old flame might have charred her here and there, sharpening the sweet, sharp curves of her ash-dusted claws and softening the delicate wisps of her gauzy wings even as it darkens. She might move with even more swift confidence if it weren't for the disfigurement that catches that left wing's mainsail, adhering it to the nearest spar. She could be a delicate, dancing shadow, her willowy form carried by tiny, nimble paws.

Oracle Egg

One of the larger of the clutch, the smooth surface of this tall egg is first washed with a foggy mixture of cool, sky-blue that deepens only fractionally to become pale sandstone towards its base. Blunted, earthy peaks rise from its middle, reaching towards smudges of white and grey that form cloud-like impressions, but never quite make contact. Among those peaks are dotted shapes in clean cut marble; tall columns and many small, rectangular structure trying to outdo their neighbour. Away from these, a lonely, singular grey circle sits precisely at the shell's widest point.

Oracle Egg tips forward and stays there, still, for just a moment, before its very top begins to crumble and a dark green nose pokes through, the petite, lithe form that follows widening the hole in her shell little by little, until she leaves it behind, half-intact, save for the flecks of earthy tones that litter the Sands. Her first point of focus is not the world around her, but the fragment of shell on her right paw. Yes, she has to clean that away /right now/.

Temperament

Caidelyth is a lady. If a gold is a queen, Caidelyth is her own kind of princess, for she lacks the oft arrogant edge of her metallic sisters, though not the confidence that she - and therefore you - has the ability to do anything, and not sacrifice her heart or soul to do it. She's a benevolent soul, who will wish to assist and guide her siblings however she can, even if they rebuff and don't take too kindly to her efforts. She will persevere. She has strength. She just doesn't need to lash out or make a scene to demonstrate that this is so. Her kindness is a strength as great as anyone else's, and she has the courage to see what she must through to its conclusion, even if she must suffer setbacks or unkindness. It will take a very great offense indeed to draw rudeness or acerbic words from Caidelyth, but she is no pushover. What must be done, must be done, even if it is not always what one would /like/ to be doing.

Though Caidelyth may not share the fierce intelligence of Uiysath, she is an observant sort, and may well catch onto things around her faster than you or her siblings do. The problem is, is that there is something about the sweetness of her voice and the honesty of her spirit that makes even the more obvious of her observations seem... outlandish. Impossible. Untrue. That others don't always believe her will frustrate her on occasion, and she is apt to respond by repeating her 'truth' again and again, more earnest every time, which could make her a target for jokes. Still, even this is unlikely to cause her to develop outright animosity for her peers.

She will expect that everything is kept neat and tidy, from your cot to her wallow, and this even extends to her and yourself. If she get muddy, she'll enjoy it at the time, but she'll want to be bathed and oiled, to become presentable again, as soon as possible. Though she won't wish you to don skirts and corsets and frills for the more practical elements of your training, she'll begin to make suggestions as to how you might subtly accentuate your femininity. A ribbon in your hair, or a pretty necklace, or a brighter shirt, perhaps. She understands necessity, and thus her suggestions won't be unreasonable, but, as she grows, and when the two of you eventually have more free time, she'll ask that you consider that dress once drills are over, or those embroidered shirts and trousers. She might take a particular stance against your wearing /boots/, for they hardly encourage one's carriage to be that of a lady. Be careful: there is a fine line between being feminine and being /decent/, and she will not approve of anything brazenly indecent to catch a boy's eye.

For those first few months, when it does not restrict her as it later might, the 'quirk' (as she sees it) to her wing will not trouble her. She will notice, of course, and there may be pain, but if you are brave enough to listen to the dragonhealers and let them do what they can for her, it may soon become a distant memory. Her early lessons in flight will be anything but easy if you do not act, and you both may find a way to compensate without anything so invasive as surgery, but should you delay and fear for her, the longer you wait, the bigger the problem may become.

Caidelyth will be an asset to any wing, not solely for her grace and agility in the skies, should you overcome her minor physical difficulty, but because she is wont to promote harmony within a group. She would prefer that people get along, and will act as mediator when she can. Should you have ambitions to climb the ranks, her easy manners and genuine delight in the company of others will be an asset to your cause, perhaps even more than what leadership qualities you possess. Should you offend anyone, she'll be the one more able to make amends, almost without thinking. She doesn't 'see' rank and structure in the same way that others tend to - everyone, from drudges to leaders, is worth attention, love and kindness. She'll want you to remember that too.

She may see flights as a particular indignity, for though she might have some choice in who she twines with, she has no choice in the matter of /needing/ to rise. Caidelyth won't rise as frequently as some of her sisters, perhaps only twice or three times per turn. The romance of the before, of being able to court and give attention to males she favours, will be something she is able to revel in, no great flirt, but a sweet, encouraging lady nonetheless, yet, in her quieter moments, the uncertainty of the act itself may agitate her. She is the sort of green to make a choice - her choice - whenever she can, and she will favour males that she already has a connection with, even one male over others, should she believe him to be worthy and honourable. Even if she finds herself with a male she wouldn't have chosen, there is a certain romance to the /after/, of that connection and revelling in the emotions of it, but those memories will soon fade and she will return to her trusted friends, unless he can capture her attention for longer.

Caidelyth's kindness, courage and earnestness are akin to a force of nature. She is unstoppable, and she is unafraid to give anything a try. She will never give up, even the world weighs heavy and seems like such a dark and awful place. Most importantly, she'll never give up on you, Eadgyd, or herself, and her faith in you and the world will be a solace for all the turns that you live.

Public Impression Message

The A Dream That You Wish Green has investigated as much as she possibly can, due care and attention paid to the female Candidates before her, little interest shown in the boys, and now she stops absolutely still for moment after moment. Then, with a new certainty, her little paws flying over sand, she darts over to the angular girl with the dark hair and only /just/ manages to reach a halt in-front of her in time, wings flared and front paws lifting as though to embrace her.

Private Impression Message

« Eadgyd! » The light, first sapphire, then pure white and blinding in its intensity, temporarily robs you of your sight, until the pale sands and, most importantly, the shadowy darling at your feet gradually fade back into view. « Ead? » She tries it out, head tilting, inviting you to mimic her, and decides, « Yes, I like that. Ead and Caidelyth. » As her light, bright voice fades, it doesn't leave silence in its wake, but a soft, lilting melody. Or is it all in your head? It doesn't trouble Caidelyth, so sure that, « This is going to be /wonderful/! »

Mindvoice

You will find that Caidelyth's mind is an ethereal, ever-shifting place, full of light and magic and an ever-present, soft melody that you may find easier to tune out as she grows, though it is an assurance - her assurance - that you'll never want for companionship. What images she shares with you are built from sapphire shimmer and sparkle, well-cut crystal and diamonds used to refract a rainbow of colours when she's overtaken by joy. However, when the world gets too dark, crystal dulls to glass, fragments shattering, and whether what she shares is a /true/ reflection... well. She draws heavily from nature and the world around her, using the chime of a stream, the rustle of leaves on the wind, the scents in the air to express herself, but always, always with that glimmering undercurrent of something bright and otherworldly.

Name Meaning

As you requested a name with Welsh roots, Caidelyth is built on the name 'Delyth', which is Welsh for 'pretty', and takes the beginning of her name from both Cassandra and the Welsh name 'Cai', which originates in Arthurian legend.

Inspiration

Caidelyth is inspired by both the fairytale and Disney versions of Cinderella, with twists of the Ancient Greek prophetess, Cassandra. Her hatchling name comes from the song 'A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes'. If nothing else, Caidelyth holds true to the ideal of, "Have courage and be kind."
