Moss and Lichen Egg
The somber shading of this large egg is almost lost in the shadows, the underlying hue the dull greyish-black of cold stone. Splattered across the egg, layered in areas, are splotches of rich moss green, silvery browns and swirls of a deep rusty orange. The delicate pattern has the same randomness as the growth of moss and lichen on mountain boulders, patiently working their beings into a oneness with the stone.
Shards burst and fly, scattered around the mound like the hard rain of summer that moistens the ground with wild intensity. He lays on his back, limbs still pushed upwards as if to ensure no other obstacle remains. Rolling over, his eyes begin to seek, targeting objects of interest. He stands too quickly, his angular body not quite coordinated enough to prevent him from falling. One wing is captured under a leg, but swiftly released as he rises now with a slower, controlled determination and marches out towards the line.

He glows in the smallest amount of light, his rich brown hide deeper than the finest topaz, with a luster and sheen highlighted by grained patterns of amber. The vanes of his wings are lighter, ripples of amber sheeting along them like a gentle rain. A swirl of deeper color runs in a sinuous pattern along his spine, undulating as he moves. His radiant form is a trifle angular, making him appear as sharp and harsh as a shard of rock upthrust from a mountain peak. The intensity of his gaze gives indication of a determination and drive as strong and hard as rock.
